Favorite hotel in Statesboro. Staying there next week too.
Veronica
My stay at the Holiday Inn in Statesboro, Georgia, was disappointing overall. Shortly after checking in, I had to change rooms because the door to my original room would not lock properly, which was a safety concern.
The bed was uncomfortable and could definitely benefit from a new mattress. The bathroom also needs updating. The shower head and toilet appear to be due for replacement, and the shower wall was coming apart and needs to be recaulked. These maintenance issues made the room feel worn and in need of renovation.
The breakfast was good, but I felt it was a bit overpriced for what was offered.
The staff was courteous, but the property would greatly benefit from improvements and routine maintenance to provide a more comfortable guest experience.

Needed a credit card for incidentals. Couldn’t use the regular terminal. Used something that only took swipe connected to the computer. Then she also keyed in the card…. Seemed sus. There really was no need to collect a card as there were no places for an incidental.
Rooms are dated with a TV from 2009. Hand soap and lotion are mounted similar to the amenities in the shower. Seemed tacky.
I wouldn’t pay $200 to stay at this Holiday Inn when it’s about the same as an old La Quinta.

Have to pay EXTRA for the breakfast and WiFi. Ridiculous. I have never had to do that when traveling and never at any other holiday Inn property. Told them to keep both. But the room was clean and the staff were friendly enough. We will stay elsewhere next time we travel.
Christina
It was newer than other properties. The room was not clean though.
Carlos
Great service..Very clean and orderly
Brianna
It was great!
Patsy
The staff was very helpful. The hallways were very hot and stiffling. No AC in hallways.
Stephanie
The hotel was good and the common areas were clean. The hall carpets had just been cleaned. The rooms are spacious, but the bathrooms are a little small. Nothing to complain about. The pool is large, the restaurant is nice and the location is good. My only complaint is that though our room was clean it smelled like a dog had been there before us. I know that is tough for the hotel, not much they can do. They had definitely cleaned the room but I do wish hotels had designated pet friendly rooms.
Deborah
For comfortable beds and good nights rest this is your place.
Mara
It was clean and cute! Beds could be more comfy though.
Bradford
Great for access to GSU and greater Statesboro area. Friendly staff!
Sarah
My husband and I stayed here as I was taking a class GSU. The staff was excellent and the breakfast was great as well as that staff. If I make a trip back down there I will stay again.

Walter
Cold food it was like leftover food

Bathrooms, AC, and carpet in rooms needs to be updated. Lobby, bar area, amenities, elevators and hall ways give a good first impression but rooms need attention.
Johguan
The room was clean the pool isn’t accessible but overall it was a good stay!

Was in town for a graduation, sold out hotel. Rates were high due to shortage of rooms in the area I assume. Room never got cleaned after first night of a two night stay. We did let manager know upon check out and she did apologize.
jessica
Everything was great 😃
Michael
The breakfast is good, just pricey at $12.99. By the time you tip the attendant it’s at least a $15.00 breakfast.
Matt
Nice staff and clean room and bathroom
Sandy
Clean room. Easy check in
Tammy
The hotel was nice and clean and we enjoyed the breakfast included with our stay. Also reasonably priced.
Amy
Everything was wonderful, as usual. Friendly staff, good food and bar service, and loved the extra touch of welcome bags for graduation weekend.
Denise
Everything was lovely! The staff was friendly. I would stay again.
Jennifer
The breakfast buffet on graduation morning was extremely disappointing. No plates out, had to wait for utensils, never brought any drinks of any kind even though we ordered orange juice and water, coffee machine was empty.
Ceara

Ethel
Basic hotel nothing special. Definitely not worth 300 a night!
Cammie
Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean
Frank
Clean room. Breakast NOT included with room. Breakfast buffet offered for $12.99 per person. Front desk person was unable to look up my member number while every other IHG hotel has no problem with that. I had t o call to get the number from customer service.
Betty
Staff was not accommodating
Catherine
Breakfast bar was a bit disappointing. Needed replenishing.
Cathy
Very friendly staff and large, spacious rooms!
Irma
Everything was perfect
Jayson
Newer hotel. They did give us a bag with a granola bar and water. No complementary breakfast.
Rocky
We stayed 3 nights. On the last night, 8-10 year old baseball players were there for games. We were in room 324 and the children in the room above were unattended. They jumped on and off the bed and sounded like they were wrestling and body slamming each other on the floor. This went on from about 9 pm until midnight. We called the front desk 3 times and asked that something be done. The desk clerk even told my husband on the 2nd call that the father said he went up and spoke to the children about it. It did calm down for about 10 minutes and then started again. When we checked out on Sunday morning, my husband asked to speak to the general manager. The desk clerk said he was not there but she was the desk manager. She apologized but said there is nothing that can be done about the noise. Perhaps the hotel should have a rule against unattended minors & if the parties are unruly, they should be asked to leave, so travelers can get some rest. The rest of the staff was great-Jillian and Tristan were outstanding. The room was clean. The breakfast was not fresh. I will not be returning to your hotel the next time I am in Statesboro.
Cathy
Staff was courteous and helpful.
Melisa
The front desk lady was very informative and lovely.
Tommy
Room was clean, breakfast was good, staff was courteous. However, I'd reserved a single room with 2 queens as I was traveling with my son, but when I arrived they said they didn't have one available and would have to put us in a room with a single king bed. We adapted, but it would've been unacceptable had I not been traveling with a family member. The question remains, why was I able to reserve a room that wasn't available? It's the most basic function for a hotel. Frankly, after a full day at work followed by a 4hr drive to Statesboro, I was furious, which is why I've waited 2 weeks to post this review. I gave a 3 star rating because everything else was adequate.....but I will not be booking at this location again.
Christopher
Amazing clean rooms. Front desk staff was awesome.
Chuddy
Bathroom could be updated. Paid for subpar breakfast. Too busy of location
Jennifer
Great stay, peaceful, helpful staff.
Amy
The hotel room was nice, clean, and the staff were friendly. The thermostat on the wall didn't work, so it took a minute for me to figure out why the room was cold, but other than that, it was a great rental.
Paul
Great reception by staff. Excellent amenities
Jennifer
Rooms are wonderful and the staff is top notch!!

The breakfast was amazing, so many options to choose from. The staff from the breakfast area was very attentive and efficient. She kept checking on everyone to make sure we were ok or if we needed something else. Great service. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room was smelled like weed and the shower was dirty
Ashley
Front desk staff was the best concierge I have ever interacted with. She was so nice, calm, quick. I travel a bunch for work and hands down solid. Keep her!!
LaShoda
I actually like this hotel. This last experience was a bit below standard, more so the interaction during the check out process.
Cassie
Noisy and not the cleanest
johnathan
The front desk staff was absolutely amazing! She was extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. The room was spotless and our overall check-in was 5 star level. We will definitely return.
John
Good location. Quiet. No problems.
Sara
Staff is wonderful!! Place is clean! Breakfast and Bar are great!
Sharda
It was comfortable
Frances
We did not have breakfast there bc it was not complimentary. We did not use the bar bc we didn’t have time. The staff was friendly. The only thing that I miss in hotels these days is the clean , made up beds and clean towels when we return from our day out. Other than that, our stay was enjoyable. Thank you
cyndi
Late arrival was handled professionally. Easy stay, would recommend.
Kelly
Wonderful staff!
Jiman

Christy
The staff was welcoming. The snack room was perfectly organized and had just what we needed. The hotel is well maintained and is extremely clean.
Vanessa
Breakfast was great. Varie provided awesome service.
Tina
The staff was so nice. The breakfast was great. The breakfast staff was great. Very comfortable room. We left another property that was not so good, and the staff at Holiday Inn welcomed us and made us feel like we made the right decision. Would definitely stay here again!
Shanna
The room was clean and spacious with lots of sitting area. There is a Cracker Barrel and Olive Garden across the street so definitely a plus in terms of finding decent food to eat that stays open late.
LaKisha
We really enjoyed our stay. This will be our choice if we are ever in this location again. 9/10 we completely recommend.
Robert
The staff was nice. The location was good. However, the room we were given had a defective door that could be easily pushed open by anyone. The room was knowingly given to us despite the fact that the hotel staff and maintenance team knew the door was a problem. This is absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances. I demand a rapid and significant response.
Roberta
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and safe.
Nicholas
Clean
James
No room available when I tried to check in
Meagan F
Staff was very friendly. The room had a terrible smell. The bed linens were not clean and we had to request them changed. After we received cleaning bedding we realized the rotten garbage smell was coming from the mattress. I belive there may have been some issues with the centralized air as we heard and felt loud rumbling from the floor of the room. The breakfast is not included. Which would be fine if it were not buffet style offered for free at other hotels.
WALTER
The best staff ever
Sybil
Room was clean, comfortable bed, excellent front desk staff.
Jessie
Easy asset from our route there and nack.

We enjoyed the breakfast choices and selections. Food excellent for my taste and diet. Staff excellent they were available for assistance and support. BEST EVER!! Will certainly stay again and refer to my friend and associates.
Donna
The property was one of the cleaner ones in the area. But I was disappointed in that I booked a room for 2 nights and had free cancellation until August 3. I found out in late July that I only needed the room for one night. I immediately contacted the property to cancel the 2nd night and they refused. They would only agree to cancel my entire reservation, even though I paid more for cancellation options. Statesboro was very busy that week with move in and I feel certain that with a week's notice (before cancellation deadline), they could have sold that room to someone else. This was not good customer service at all.
Kelly
The only issue I had was my key card kept getting wiped out and I would have to get it reprogrammed. Everything else was good with my stay. The younger lady up front was great. She went above and beyond to help my daughter print off her information for college.
Laura
Great Stay
We were welcomed as family at the Holiday Inn.
Taylor
Room smelled old and musty. Shower and toilet dirty. Sheets had blonde hair in them. And a bug on the pillow
Tamara
Friendly and clean stay
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was very clean and had a fresh scent. The only thing that was a disappointment was the breakfast. The breakfast isn’t included but the young lady at the front desk was so kind to allow us to sign up for the rewards program and get two free breakfast vouchers. However, the breakfast was not that good and I would have been very disappointed if we had to pay $26 for it.
Amanda
Front desk staff were beyond kind! They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed!
Justin
Wish the pool was open but oh well
Karin
Pool was cloudy due to previous rain??
Lisa
I’ve stayed here several times and have always had a great stay.
Billy
Wouldn't recommend
Bed was awful! Room had a bad musky smell. Staff wasn't very friendly. Breakfast was cold. Expected a lot better, for the price.
