Beautiful views

Very clean and rustic/home feeling! So comforting. Beautiful views
Was here for overnight for a wedding; due to the old nature of the building the doors aren’t super thick so you can hear very clearly the activity in the hallways/door closing/people going up the steps but there’s nothing that could have been done about that.

The Historic Summit Inn

The room was clean & quiet. The ambiance in the lobby was cozy, with big chairs, game corners, a fireplace, & a tv for those who wanted to watch sports.
The food was delicious, as we dined in for one dinner & two breakfasts. The apple crisp was a treat after dinner! The staff was friendly & professional. The historic pictures were great to explore as well as the newspaper articles.

The Summit is a 1906 grand hotel with all the trimmings associated with a historic bld.
If your thing is hanging around the grand lobby, sitting in front of the fireplace chatting with other guests, this place is for you. The rooms are what you would expect in an historic Inn. The rooms meet the needs, but the lobby, bar and restaurant is the place to hang out and soak up the beautiful architecture. Id return for a longer stay.

We loved that this was a historical site, but it has outlived its heyday. We found the staff to be unfriendly, the rooms were drab, the bathroom floor had mold, and we found several insects on the window, curtains, and carpet (ants and spiders).

Summit Hotel is like stepping back in time !

I have been coming to the Summitt since the mid 80's. LOTS of special memories Love the history of the Summit Hotel.
Alot of changes through the years but the place still has some of its old charm left.
It is a relaxing place to unplug from the fast pace world. The porch has some of the best sunsets ! The pool is refreshing and relaxing with a beautiful view ! I always choose a summer stay to enjoy the pool and a Fall trip is a definte time to stay as well. !!

Probably won’t stay at other hotels now

This really has raised the bar for all our hotel travels along the years. Felt like we were far away when we only live an hour away. The staff were so nice that everyone there were just happy. Guests and staff members. Not loud at all. Had a great band yesterday. It was amazing. Can’t forget about that view. Will definitely stay again. Don’t forget to pick up the phone and talk to the ghost in room 184

Uncomfortable Bed

The views were amazing, pool refreshing, but the bed was uncomfortable. It's an old hotel but the owners put in the work to keep the paint fresh and the surfaces clean. Too bad they cut corners on an essential element, a comfortable place to lay one's head.

There is no elevator for luggage transport to rooms. Thin walls, easily heard guests in the hallway and in adjacent rooms. Large in room ac unit is loud and drowns out sound from other guests.

We enjoyed a night over when we visited the FRank Lloyd Wright home, Falling Water, and loved it. When we arrived, we checked in quickly and immediately went to the pool for a swim. Great space!!! After swimming, we got dressed up and enjoyed dinner as the sun was setting on the veranda … so beautiful!!!! The food was good and the view was amazing!

This property is a historic gem built in 1907, but with modern amenities. The view from the outdoor pool overlooking the valley was worth the stay! The bar and veranda dining options were scrumptious and appreciated, as everything else within 5 miles seemed to be closed on a Monday/Tuesday. If you’re from Florida and missing the lightning bugs, they are everywhere on this property! Also, this proud 20 minutes away from white water rafting!

Historic, so obviously lots of old charm. There is a good balance between the old and newer upgrades. Beautiful outdoor pool and veranda area. Lobby and patios have great spaces to gather and play checkers, cards or board games.

Beautiful views

This sweet hotel close to Falling water and other amenities . Our first room smelled moldy, I went to the desk and they moved us immediately, the hotel overall has great facilities,!pool and restaurant and bar everything onsite. It’s all a bit dated but charming and quaint. Seemed to be the best in the area.
My only other comment as far as the room is that the air conditioning was blowing directly on my side of the bed and there was no way to change the direction of vent and bathroom was big but nowhere to hang a towel or counter space/storage. Overall nice.

Birthday Get Away

This is our second time at The Historic Summit Inn. Our stay this time was from July 2nd and leaving on July 4th. This was my birthday getaway. The place is Wonderful and the POOL, well that is fantastic. They had music on the porch on July 3rd and his voice was wonderful! We ate breakfast, lunch & dinner there and the food is delicious, hats off to the chef! We had a wonderful day the the pool, we went to Falling Waters on the 4th and ate breakfast that morning at Bittersweet and WoW is that place fantastic, the coffee is delicious and try the burrito breakfast wrap. I had a chocolate too for breakfast to celebrate me and so delicious.
The sunset on the deck is perfect and so is The Historic Summit Inn. I would recommend to everyone.

This is a beautiful and unique historic hotel, it felt charming and inviting while maintaining the historic vibe without feeling overdone or outdated. The room was very spacious, clean and cozy with a lovely Mountain View. My daughter and I both enjoyed an awesome sunset on the deck and a swim in the resort pool overlooking the mountains. I will definitely be coming back! And yes this is a HISTORIC hotel; I've read some reviews that stated that as a negative or deserving of a bad review. If you are not looking for this type of vibe, this may not be your place.

Old Tired Hotel

What a disappointment. This is a very tired hotel with a very expensive dining menu, old tired rooms with uneven floors, not-great housekeeping service (we had crumbs from a previous guest covered with ants), too-low toilets, no in-room coffee makers or other perks you might expect today. Just so sad that this old hotel has seen better days. I wish I could say there were good things to recommend it, but I can’t think of any. We were going to stay a week but left after two days.

Liked hot tub, pool, games, vending machine, food and drinks, view. Room was nice bed, great blackout curtains. TV was small and some channels didn’t come in clearly TCM, bathroom toilet not clean and rug not fully vacuumed and carpet shredded with something sharp, no hooks for towels or suits to hang after shower. No mini fridge for leftovers in room.

I chose this hotel at the last minute, extending a work trip into a quick vacation. I am so glad we did! It's so much more than just a place to sleep for the night. The property was beautiful and the building itself was so interesting. I really appreciated the way the hotel has modern accommodations, while still maintaining many charming characteristics that make you feel as if you've stepped back in time. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the Veranda and breakfast the next morning in the dining room. Both meals were excellent! The staff was very friendly and someone was always at the front desk for any questions. It was a wonderful experience. If you are a fan of historical TV shows and wish to immerse yourself in one, you should stay here!

Perfect for a weekend getaway.

Though the rooms are on the smaller side, the hotel was extremely spacious, allowing my husband and I to always find a quiet corner or window seat to our selves. The staff was old time friendly, happy to serve or engage in friendly conversation. There is plenty to do on site during any season of the year. And the location allowed for endless options to eat out, hike or explore.

It is almost 12am and we can here doors slam, and people talking. After check in, we are aware there is a wedding going on, but the talking between rooms is terrible for us and our two children. We have stayed here before, after tonight, im not sure if we'll ever stay here again. It's just so disrespectful the talking we can clearly hear. We keep thinking the voices we hear will fade away, but they will not. I even stuck my head out because it sounds like they are right outside of our room. We are so upset we spent almost $300 for a terrible stay like this. We also had terrible temperature water during our showeres. It would scald or freeze us. Seriously a terrible experience.

Hotel Restaurant

Everything was wonderful except for our dinner in the hotel restaurant. There was some weird wire in my salad and the waiter didn't offer to take it off my bill, just asked if I wanted another salad? Basically ruined the whole meal. And the food was marginal at best. I expected much better from this hotel.

The building is impressive from the outside and has a massive fireplace and plenty of seating in the indoor reception area. However, the rooms are dated with worn carpets. The walls show signs of peeling paint and cracks. We were very disappointed in the condition of the rooms and lack amenities. It’s more a cabin in the woods than a well maintained resort. Disappointed

Historic Summit Inn is a MUST in western PA.

We stayed at the Historic Summit Inn as part of a fall foliage in several states. We chose this location due to its proximity to Falling Waters and Kentuck Knob. The Inn did not disappoint! It is a throwback to another era--old school feeling with contemporary functionality. The room was spacious, the shower water pressure was fabulous. We ate dinner and breakfast on site, both were delicious. The weather did not work in our favor, so we were not able to get the 360 views from the deck. We would definitely stay at Summit Inn again.

The hotel’s common area are lovely and the room was comfortable. Nice hot water in the bathroom. Breakfast food was very good.
Be aware that this hotel has multiple stairs and NO elevators. Not even a bellman/woman to help you with your luggage. The breakfast is ordered at a walk up counter, no substitutions allowed and the customers need to gather their own condiments. Staff is in need of customer service training.

This is a historic property so there are some “amenities” that others may feel are missing. We adored the hotel and its staff. The rooms were comfortable and I slept great! Very quiet. Dinner was fantastic at Mae’s and the porch is such a wonderful place to enjoy the weather and view. Will definitely stay here again!
