I understand that this hotel and many in the immediate area cater to long-term stays, mostly employees in the natural gas industry. The parking lot is filled with trucks from Halliburton and other gas companies. Perhaps because of this, there is no room service except 1 times a week. That's OK, we were only there a few nights.

Regardless, the staff was friendly and helpful.

What was uncomforable about this hotel were the accomodation. The bed had a huge dip in the center and we could not get comfortable. The air conditioning is loud...really loud. Both these things led to neither of us getting a good night's rest for 3 straight nights.

I probably would not stay at this hotel again.

The hotel was nice and clean. Few things to note, there is no breakfast, just coffee. Maybe I should have checked more carefully but I’ve never been to a hotel that didn’t offer any kind of breakfast at all. The other thing is they must allow area businesses to park their work trucks, mostly very large pickups, in their parking lot. The parking lot was almost always full of different company vehicles but it seemed like the hotel was pretty empty and the trucks never moved. There were only a few spots for guests to park and they weren’t in convenient places. Hard when you have to carry luggage and pack up your car.
The hotel is in a convenient location, so luckily we didn’t have to go too far for breakfast.

you pay all that extra money for the amenities just to sleep on an old uncomfortable lopsided mattress. very frustrating.

the window sill was so dirty just covered in dirt and there was an empty box of tissues in my room. $170 for this. and they’re understaffed. where is all that money even going? what a joke.

it just goes from bad to worse: getting into bed and there was a hot fry on the floor next to my bed. before i said this was bad but this is actually pathetic.

i went to the front desk and while Janet was very nice she said very firmly she could not move me to another room.

if i had paid $100 for this room i might not mind. but i deliberately picked the more expensive option because i wanted a comfortable mattress and they couldn’t even get that very basic thing right.

this hotel is a scam.

Worst mattress ever

Rude staff and the room was not clean. Worst part of the stay was definitely the mattress…we could not sleep and ended up leaving the hotel early because the mattress was so uncomfortable.

We booked based on the directional in the description that it was walkable to a nearby attraction. I guess technically anything is walkable if you’re open to a long distance. But alas it was not as close as indicated. It’s also behind another hotel on a dead end road next to the highway. Hotel was quiet and the room was sufficient. Nice to have a kitchen that did come in handy.

First thing I noticed was blood and dirt on wall of elevator. There was no parking and we had to park off site. All parking full.
Then I saw a dead fly on my shelf, cob webs on the bottom of the tv. I opened the closet and there was a huge McDonald’s bag the size of a paper grocery bag filled with empty wrappers cartons and food from a prior guest. Trash was never disposed of.
The bed seems comfortable, air works and tv is fine. I’m kind of picky about cleanliness so the fly cobwebs and McDonald’s trash have me queasy. I picked this hotel based on reviews of 8 or higher. There were plenty of reviews that were 10/10 and 8/10 but I’d put this hotel at a 7 or 6.5.

I was there for National Sr Games I only had a small problem could not connect to their Wi-Fi but I believe it was my phone not their system as 2 of the staff tried, they got my friends to work after some time however we were in a hilly secluded area so that may have been the reason , also even after I found it was unplugged the
in-house phone would not work BUT my people were 3 doors down so not a problem to knock on their door. I was there for a competition not shopping

Easy access to I-79. The Meadowlands (casino and racetrack) is close by. There are many restaurants in the area. Our one bedroom suite was very comfortable. It would be great for an extended stay.

Room needs some maintenance. Missing floor pieces at the bathroom, small hole in shower/tub at the drain, cracked/chipped tile in bathroom. The TV remote was also finnicky to use at times, did not want to work changing channels.
I brought my own flat sheet that was removed from room during cleaning, during previous stay I did not have this happen.

Room was very large, great almost full kitchen - full size fridge, dishwasher, cooking utensils, area downstairs to borrow a crock pot or toaster oven, etc. Alas, no pool or spa, which would be nice for an extended stay. Area is kind of in an industrial park area I would call it, so no sidewalks - tough to just take a stroll from the hotel. Also, limited dining within walking distance.

It was unfortunate that there was no power…pitch black and no hot water. Had to use my phone flashlight but had to be cognizant that my batter wouldn’t die because I wouldn’t have been able to charge it. The staff and facility were excellent though!

This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. It is getting older so there are some cosmetic things starting but will not inconvenience you. The staff is always professional, kind and accommodating. I have a disability and this is one of 2 places that ensures I have what I need.

Queen Size Bed Too Small

The hotel and staff was awesome. My only disappointment was the size of the bed in room 422. I was told it was a Queen but I have a Queen at home and this bed was much smaller than my Queen. I was told that all rooms have Queen beds. My wife and I are not large people but if we were this bed would be entirely too small for 2 people. Everything else was great. Not sure I'd come back since what they call a Queen is to small!

I had never stayed at this chain of hotels and I was pleasantly surprised. The lady working evening shift was very kind and helpful.
The only downfall was that the lighting in the parking lot was not good and they appeared to be having leaks from somewhere.

Liked closeness to Tánger outlet, casino, race track, mall off highway 19 and Southpointe country club.
Did not like smell of cigarette smoke in room. Place was clean, staff was great, but pet area needs to be well lit. It’s on backside of hotel facing highway too dark. It’s next to another hotel up on hill somewhat hidden. Perfect target for robbery or someone gets attacked/taken. Not safe.

I love this place. All the comforts of home at a great price. They have a workout room, laundry and lending locker. Lending locker: stuff you can borrow for free, just sign it out use it and bring it back. Awesome. They have crock pots, waffle maker, DVD's and players, snow scrapers, almost everything you can need.
The room has a small stovetop, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. Pots and pans and dinnerware. If you just want to disappear for a few days, you'd be all set here. Smoking area outside.

The hotel and staff are great but all of the furniture is so uncomfortable. The bed is so rock hard that both my 2 year old son and i woke up 3 to 4 times nightly. My back would hurt so badly when i awoke that i wouldn't be able to go back to sleep unless i was so exhausted i couldn't keep my eyes open. The free laundry is a great bonus also!

Great place to stay!

Our stay at Candlewood was wonderful. The first night wasn't so good because of a very heavy foot person above us walking until 1:30 am along with the TV not working. We went to the front desk the next morning and they attempted to fix the TV which didn't work so they gave us another room for the next night. That evening I slept like a baby. Thank you Candlewood Suites!
