In general the hotel is not bad, 2 bad things are bathroom had mold (multiple spots)
And it could be loud time to time, I dont know this was because we were in first floor or not, but everything that was happening outside we could hear it, and this could be annoying specially when it was happening 1-2am

This hotel was perfect, very nice, big room, quiet and the staff was very helpful. We had some dirty blanket on the bed but they took care of it. Consider it is in the 5th floor with no elevator, it wasn’t a problem for us.

We had a great stay at the property. The room was spacious enough and clean. There also is a small kitchen area with some snacks, free coffee and tea, which was a nice touch. The location was also great, we loved the area around the property as well, with many little shops, cafes and dining options. The only thing we would criticize is that the rooms are quite noisy. Even with windows and shutters closed you can hear the street very loudly. Fortunately it’s a not big street with lots of traffic. Otherwise it’s a great spot for a vacation in Rome.

I was very pleased with this property. Our host Anthony waited outside and greeted us when we arrived. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s in a central location which makes it very accessible to all the historical sites. With that said it can be loud once the city wakes up, so I would suggest ear plugs if you want to sleep in. I would definitely recommend staying here for its convenience and charm.

Location is perfect. You can walk to every major landmark in Rome if you want. We walked 35 miles over the three days we stayed here, but obviously taxis, bus, bikes, etc are available for those who want. Roberta and her staff are wonderful and make sure you have all the information and amenities you need. Highly recommended.

Because of my itinerary I didn’t get to be in the hotel when there was staff. The few times I did see them, the staff were friendly, However, I didn’t get to see the extra attention that I read in the other reviews. Also, the two times I ate in there the food was good. But then again that all depends on that person, almost the same thing everyday and not many option. The bed was horrible, like I couldn’t sleep at all the first time. I ask to be change it, which they did, it was ok. Overall, for the price, it was a very good hotel because everything I ask, I got it by the next day. The check in was good and the hotel is very clean. However, you have to ask for something to happen and they don’t go the extra mile like the other reviews make it seem so. Still I will recommend it but be very clear on what you want.

Perfect location since it was walking distance to just about all the main points of interest in Rome. A bit noisy though due to our neighbors being up all night and the walls are thin. However great service. We had to head out very early in the morning and they accommodated us by preparing a packable breakfast for us. That was really nice.

I cannot begin to express how kind and helpful the staff was at the B&B Orologio! Roberta, the owner, responded to many emails in English. She was kind, offered a great deal of information and suggestions for our large family while being very personable and thoughtful of our needs. The rooms were on 3 different floors and they each held their own charm. They were spacious with updated furnishings. I was highly appreciative of the fact that she took into account a severe hip problem and gave us a memory foam topper for our bed, very thoughtful! Be aware that there is no elevator and there are only two rooms on each floor. Remembering also that in Europe, the first floor is one flight up from ground level. Her head-of-staff and breakfast chef, Lawrence, was equally as kind as he arrived early on the mornings of our tours so that we did not have to go without breakfast! The breakfasts were filled with juices, meats, sausages, cheeses and fresh baked goods, some wonderfully unique.
She also gave us the connection for two half day tours to both the Vatican and the Colosseum. Our tour operator, Camilla, was very outgoing and communicative. She helped us to plan both tours and for a very comparable price to larger companies, Camilla herself took us through the Colosseum, over to Palatine Hill and the Forum. She gave us a great deal of historical information with real world connections to these ancient wonders! Highly recommended!

The B&B All'Orologio is a fabulous facility which is excellently run by its owner Roberta. Located in the best possible area of historic Rome, it is a few minutes walk from Vatican city as well as piazza navona and the Pantheon. It is also conveniently connected by bus to all the major tourist spots in Rome. The caretakers Lawrence and Dariel make sure that the rooms are immaculate and provide excellent personalised service every morning for breakfast. This is one of the best \"hotel\" stays we have experienced in all our years of travel, and will be the only place we would consider staying at when in Rome again.

Whilst this is just a small B&B the staff were great and the service friendly. The location is a short walk from Piazza Novona and the Vatican (and most of the rest of Rome's main sights as Rome is pretty small if you like to stroll about). The room itself was very clean and tidy and reasonably quiet for Rome.

Good location; good for younger travellers

The B&B is centrally located and would be good for younger travellers and families (since there are many stairs and no elevator). The room was not luxurious but was very functional and immaculately clean. The bathroom was small but well laid out. Lorenzo was well informed and he arranged for a car and driver to take us to the airport which worked like a charm. Roberta and Lorenzo were concerned hosts and communicated well with us. Since breakfast doesn't start until 8, this isn't good for early morning tours or folks who are leaving on early flights (unfortunately both pertained to us) but there is a small convenience store nearby so we bought supplies there. The breakfast was typically Italian and was adequate. The coffee was delicious (and plentiful).

One minor point - city tax is paid in cash (I don't think we understood this at the outset).

The first part of our stay in Italy was at a Tuscan villa so this no doubt coloured things - but this B&B is good value for $ in Rome.

Great neighbourhood within walking distance of river, restaurants, and many of Rome's most famous sites. B&B in gorgeous building with excellent security. Room and ensuite average size but more than adequate. However, a bit light on with bathroom toiletry supplies but towels good and bathroom quite modern. We enjoyed our stay of 3 nights and considered it excellent value for money. Concierge very obliging, professional and friendly. We highly recommend this venue.

Breakfast included juices, cappuccino, pastries, cheeses, breads, sliced meats, toast with butter, jams, cream cheese, and any requests we made. My husband requested mortadella sausage specifically, and he provided it the next morning. Very friendly and helpful. Spacious and comfortable room. Shower had hot water, which previous hotel didn't. Near to Piazza Navona with nightlife, but not so near you hear it. Ten minute walk from Vatican. Great restaurants in the little streets nearby.

not really worth the money

The room was very basic and the air conditioning was kind of inadequate and the breakfast was nothing special. the location was fantastic, very close to the vatican, but there's no subway stop nearby. buses were good, tho. if you book specify you want the first floor. we were on the third, which is actually the fourth floor above street level in europe, and had to walk up 67 steps each time we wanted to go to the room or forgot something.

Excellent, clean and well maintained B&B in the heart of the historic centre. Our room was a great size, sleeping 2 adults & 2 children comfortably. The owner, Roberta could not have been more helpful, as was the housekeeper - they recommended some great places to eat, helped us print out tickets for the Colosseum which ensured we skipped the long queues, and also arranged for a private taxi to pick us up at the airport. Location is fabulous and very safe - this was important to us travelling with children. We arrived after dark and went a walk and found a great pizzeria nearby. St Peters Basilica is less than 10 mins walk away, as is Piazza Navona. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Rome.

In the Heart of Rome

We really enjoyed this B&B in the heart of Rome. It was within walking distance of most of the major sites and close to a taxi stand for the rest. Lawrence and Roberta were most helpful. We came during a very hot time and were able to sleep in air conditioned comfort. Beds and pillows were firm, bathroom was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely B&B for a family and in a great location.

Normally we would not book B&B's as we prefer hotels but we booked this because it was close to the Piazza Navona and had a room big enough to fit 2 adults and 2 teenagers in. When we got there we were very pleased with the room it was large had 2 double beds in and the bathroom was modern with a large monsoon shower and a double sink. It was very close to the Castel S.Angelo, Vatican and Piazza Navona. The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain was a pleasant 10 minute stroll away. The breakfast on a morning was very simple but filled a gap to get you going. Because of the size of the room, location and overall value for money we would definitely recommend this lovely B&B.

The B&B all’Orologio was a great find. Tony took care of us the whole time, even making sure we made breakfast on time the first day. Big rooms, clean, and a good breakfast. I would take a taxi to the location since it is on a side street with a very small sign. We walked everywhere from the location and it is especially convenient for the Vatican. We'd stay there agina without question.

A very comfortable B&B right in the heart of Rome

Roberta kept in touch with us regularly so our arrival and check in was very smooth. She helped with directions and parking which would otherwise have been a nightmare. The B&B was immaculate and the man who served us breakfast was lovely and very attentive. Our room was adequate for a family of four and for this prime location probably what you would expect in any hotel or B&B. I would have no hesitation in recommending All'Orologio.

Apart from the (5) 'Very Satisfied' ratings already given in the ratings list, one should add the following: all staff get a 5* rating for kindness and helpfulness: the shower-room was the best experienced in 3 weeks Umbrian travel, so gets a 5* as well. The B&B is quite hard to find, and this is good, so first-timers should prepare themselves ahead of arrival, so as not to get lost. Our taxi-driver struggled. An alternative is to arrange for the B&B's excellent driver/van service for pick-up, Giovanni also gets a 5* and knows all the clever routes around Rome's highways and alleys. The location of B&B All'Orologio would be hard to improve.

Great location!!

We looked for 2 things - a place where 4 of us could stay (2 children with us) and a great location. B&B was perfect. We could easily walk to all the major attractions and had numerous great restaurants nearby. Secure building, very quiet. Shower was a small size (normal for Rome) with great water pressure. Bathroom size was spacious. Breakfast from 8-930am - nice selection. I've already recommended it to friends and we were just there earlier this week.

There are mainly good points to this hotel. It is superbly situated between the Pantheon and the Vatican.The rooms are large and the bathroom fittings in the ensuite are top quality. The breakfast is continental and as much as you can eat. Roberta, the owner, and Rosanna, the housekeeper, made us very welcome. The only downside is that there is no lift. There are 4 floors and it is all steps. So if you have a medical condition that means you cannot climb stairs then this is not the hotel for you.
