We celebrated my birthday at Hotel Tesoro Beach with a group of 15 guests and had an amazing time. The staff was incredible—very friendly, attentive, and made sure our whole group was well taken care of. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the hotel offers plenty of activities, which made the stay even more enjoyable for everyone.
A special thank you to Cruz, our server, who was outstanding the entire time. He was very attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly for our group. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a perfect place to celebrate with family and friends. Highly recommended!

From our room, we had a partial ocean view. The rooms were clean and stocked with the basic amenities (shampoo, body wash, lotion, and waters in the mini fridge). The staff was amazing and attentive from the moment we walked in to the day we left. Our trip was at the end of February so the weather was just warming up, perfect for the pools. Bring sunscreen! Shrimp cocktail was very refreshing and flavorful, perfect portion for 2.

Beware of this hotel. There is no warm water, and construction to renovate rooms starts at 8 am. We left early because of the cold water showers, still fighting for the refund. I am rating 2 stars because the beach access is excellent and the outdoor space is great. Very peaceful, family-friendly. The housekeeping staff was very friendly. There are no shops or restaurants nearby. Driving distance to everything.

This is an outdated hotel. It needs major renovations and upgrades. In the model of the night, there is a foul odor the woke is up. The water is not potable and is nothing like the picture.

Everything was going well until umit was time to check out, I had to flight out early in the morning so I did my check out the night before. As I was leaving they came to me trying to charge me for the bill I had paid the previous night. They were not letting leave because of that, so I had to go back to the room and show them the receipts along with my credit card charge. Very unprofessional, they should of have some sort of communication, not keeping hostage when they had the wrong information.

It was really hard to get Ubers or delivery services there because of how far it is from everything. The resort stops serving food at 8:30 pm and all of the nearby restaurants close around 8/9pm. The restaurant and bars don’t take your payment right when you order, they get your room number and charge you at the end. I think the resort would be better off charging more for the stay and make it an all inclusive resort versus having you pay at the end, we had to kind of keep track of how much we were spending at the resort.
Overall it was nice stay and we’d definitely stay there again, it’s just a few things I wish we knew before arriving like we’d be better off renting a car than struggling to find a uber and transportation services, no hot water, and no food/drinks after 8:30. Staff was so great that I will overlook that the room was kind of damped if the AC was not ON. It was in the middle of nowhere, unless you know where to look. But the tours guys will show up and believe me, go for it, you won’t be disappointed. We got Jose, a native, and we really enjoy the tour. Go for the lunch on the “Condillo” island, a blast!

They put us in a room with construction, drilling, and wall construction. The room had a wobbly table and bathroom fixtures. We asked to be moved but our view was not ideal. They don’t have potable water so you need to use bottled water to brush your teeth. The onsite restaurant was nothing memorable. The food was bland and the customer service was lacking. No smiles or attentiveness whatsoever compared to other places we’ve stayed at in El Salvador. Definitely would not recommend this place.

1) Rooms: our first room did not have hot water so we were transferred to another room that did. Why give a guest a room without hot water to begin with? That is a terrible way to welcome your guests. The second room was a bit better with hot water, fridge and safe; but still outdated. They are remodeling some rooms so I expect this will improve over time.
2) Food: it is the worst food on area. The breakfast was blend and offered no variety. They claim it is “local” food but it is the lowest quality of local food there is. Lunch and dinner were poorly cooked and had no flavor. After the first day, we went out for every meal. There are many bad options in the area. It took us a few days to identify good places and we stuck with them. This is by far what bothered us the most. If the hotel finds a good chef and purchases better quality ingredients, it will go a long way in improving customer satisfaction. The menu items were inexpensive enough that they would be able to charge more to offer better quality.
3) Drinks: beer was lukewarm; there is nothing worse than being on vacation and being unable to order beer because the temperature was just not appropriate. We tried ice, asking to put the beer next to the wall of the fridge, but nothing helped becau

The place is beautiful we enjoyed our stay! We loved the atmosphere. It was comfortable and we enjoyed that the music was turned off at 10pm. The staff is great and very helpful. The food did take a little bit so I recommend ordering ahead if possible. They had healthy options and the food was very tasty! I’m not big on seafood they had grilled chicken with rice and a side salad or steamed vegetables it was very yummy! Everyone is very friendly we loved Tesoro Beach! We will definitely recommend to others coming to this beautiful country!

However the rooms were not comfortable there was no lamp on the night table, the furniture was so dark and one of the drawer was broken, the brown color in the rooms was soo dark it was not a nice color. Free breakfast is beans, fried plantains, eggs, sour cream and cheese everyday. Very basic and uneasy. Limited menu, small portions and not very flavorful. Lots of flies in the dining area, rooms have ocean water running through their faucets. A 22 mile / 39 km ride to the airport by the hotel is $65 US dollars, I asked staff about other possibilities and was able to find it for $30 Señor Cruz, very reliable but drove a small 4 door compact vehicle.

When we arrived, we were given a room with boxes of leftover food, some sandals on the floor and many bags of condoms, after we brought this up to the staff, they said that they had cleaned the room and forgot to take those things out. My wife and I were very uncomfortable with the situation and requested a refund after we didn’t even get an apology. No refund was given, and the staff was not helpful at all, I drove almost 2 hours and had to drive 1:30 hours back to a different hotel. Fortunately the Expedia team was very helpful and after unsuccessful attempts of talking to the hotel staff, they awarded us the credit back. Never staying at Tesoro Beach!!!

The room really made the hotel terrible. Initial room smelled like mold and it felt moist and no hot water and bottom of the shower curtain also had mold on the bottom of it.
