It is located a little far from main attractions but the Hotel provides a free shuttle from Hotel to Taqsim Square and Grand Cehavir Mall Mon - Sat which is very convenient. Only thing I would suggest not to take a taxi provided by the hotel specially going back to the airport as they will demand an extra fare at the end and make an excuse of taking the toll express highway. I would rather call an Uber or a Bitaksi instead.

Good hotel not close to the center

Nice big hotel with turkish breakfast included. They have a free shuttle only for drop off which includes two stops close to the center.

At the counter few of the personnel of the hotel speaks English hard to communicate.

1. Shower didn't drain well. Informed the front desk but they didn't want to look at it unless I was there (kind of understandable) and I wouldn't think about it until next morning. Hopefully, they fix it for the next guests, but this is not a new problem and should have been looked at before I checked in.
2. Took a long time to get hot water for shower.
3. The \"hot\" Breakfast was cold despite I was one of the first to enter the dinning hall at opening time.
4. Room was too hot, tried to adjust the temperature, but I didn't feel a difference; tried to keep the window open, but then had to deal with all the outside noise and it only helped a little.

Disappointing Experience - No Alcohol and Poor Housekeeping

I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite disappointed. First, the hotel does not provide alcohol, which was not mentioned anywhere on their website. When I asked the reception about it, the receptionist’s response was shocking—she said, “I am not the owner of the hotel,” instead of providing any helpful information. I found this attitude unprofessional.

The housekeeping was terrible. They only made the bed and did not clean the bathroom properly. To make things worse, they didn’t change the glasses daily. When I asked them to clean properly, nothing improved. Communication was also an issue, as none of the housekeeping staff spoke English, making it difficult to address my concerns.

Overall, my stay was not what I expected, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Room was big, and a nice big basker of fruit awaited. Big hotel, possibility to store luggage after check-out.

Non smooking floor, stinks of tabacco, clearly have issues with ventilation from other rooms or smooking floors. Vegetable soup from restaurant was at best edible.

Not possible to use facilities after check-out even if you vacate the room (vary unusual per our experience in aimilar standard hotels).

Not all staff is fluent in english.

I really enjoyed my stay. Even when language barrier is an issue in Istanbul, the staff knew good conversational English. I was helped throughout. The breakfast was really nice, the options were good. I would just recommend that the fruits should be cut too. But full ones are good too.

Terrible experience at the check in as they forced us to pay extra even-though booking was done through Expedia app and full payment was already made. Can not rely on the hotel as you don’t know what you face or can expect after a very long flight. We will definitely not go back.

The hotel was good, but the only issue was that they charged the full amount in the check in
Usually in checkin they get the credit card and charge a deposit only but here they charged the full amount, which means they sxare we run away.
Other than this everything else was good

The reception staff are great and friendly, the breakfast is good and the staff helpful - the suite space and services are great and the rooftop is very nice
But Housekeeping service was very bad ( dirty coffee cups I found twice on the bathroom sink, not emptying the trash, not putting water, not putting fresh towels, and at the end I couldn't find my phone charger I think it was lost with the old sheets!!!

It’s nice big hotel. But the area is so empty there no close restaurants choice the mall is a 20min walk. The large bed is two bed attached and the blankets are two small ones for one large bed. Cleaning is not bad.the staffs are ok can speak English. It’s nice hotel for someone who is looking for quite place. But was not for us

This is not what I expected from a five star hote.

Had to change the room because the ac wasn’t working. Spent on hot sweaty night then they came in the morning the ac man and the electrician. It was supposed to be fixed. Guess what it wasn’t. After complaining they sent the technician back, who determined the valve to the cooling system was closed. Requested and changed the room. This way better. Then trying to take a shower very little flow with very bad faucet. Manager indicated that they had pump issues.

Hi All,

Grand Cevaher hotel is definitely not a 5-star hotel. I rate it as 3 star top or maximum 4. as I asked them it was built 16 years ago and you will see it is the most likely old hotel. some renovations has been done but it has a long way to go and it`s wierd to me why management do not take care of that. But to be fair it is clean.

Staff:

First I thought that they are rude (based on the North American standard) but the way they talk and behave is the culture in that country and most of them are like that. I guess management should work on training for these people. But again to be fair, they were a couple which were really good and nice like Omar, the young fellow at reception (nice guy and professional although he is so young).

Rooms are not in bad shape but the floor is carpet which is old and not really nice.

it is located in Sisli area which is not that close to down town (40min).

be careful about taxi drivers and try to avoid them as they do their best to rip you off.

Summary:

If you find a very nice deal not a bad idea to get this hotel otherwise it really does not worth it with standard rates.

We had a good experience as a family with children. Very good overall. I gave it 4 because of the the location. While it is just a few minutes ride to a big shopping mall, walking around is not ideal for the locality and you definitely need a taxi to move around. We learned about their shuttle service the last day of out stay.

The staff was great. They all spoke English and were quick in responding to requests. No smoking policy needs to be enforced. You can literally smell the smoke through the AC/ventilation system. That is, if somebody smokes in other rooms, the smell comes into your room. Although the hotel has No smoking signs, they also have ash bins right below the sign. Moreover, you can find ashtrays on the table in the rooms. Doesn't make much sense.

Quite old but nice hotel in Sisli district

We stayed at the hotel for one night.

Staff at the hotel is very nice and helpful. They even kindly provided early check-in at 8AM for free.

The hotel itself needs some renovation and in current condition it does not comply with 5-star rating (at least for my room). The room was quite clean, though and the bed was comfortable - that's what I needed for my overnight stay.

Breakfast buffet was very good.

The hotel location is not the very best, but Taksim square is at about 30 minutes walking distance and you can get to Sisli/mecidiekoy metro station and nearby large shopping mall in 15 minutes.

Stayed here three nights while having surgery at a local hospital.
Although I had paid through Expedia, its was very difficult for the receptionist to grasp this. I was challenged over non payment by a number of staff members which put a dampener on the stay.
Pool area being refurbished so not able to use.

Perfect hotel in sisly

Great hotel, very clean and organized; sauna, pool and hammam seems clean. Free downtown shuttle is very convenient. Has own taxi service with reasonable prices. Can't comment on breakfast, since didn't have there. Staff is very responsive.

I have stayed and rated this hotel positive before. But unfortunately this time I felt I was not welcome to reception. Recetionist E. was very rude and looked angry. While I was checking out their manager G. was also not friendly and acted strange. May be they were tired and very busy, but their behaviour can not be tolerated.

It is not first time to me in this hotel to stay in and all previous times my stay way very nice except this time which was horrible because of my room door locker was not working and every time I leave the room and return back found that the key is not working and I could not go into my room . This happened three times and every time I had to go down to reception to solve the problem which gave me a very hard time and then in last time it happened they sent some one to srepair it and he stayed more than half an hour without success then they switched me to another room !!?

A reasonable three star hotel

The hotel is reasonable but not 5 star which is what the rating stated. The hotel lobby is good but the room was furnished poorly. Staff at the front desk was good but the dinning room staff was not courteous or helpful. No one knew English so communication was impossible.

The hotel is conveniently located, not too far away from the airport and also close to the city center and other attractions. The location was particularly convenient for me because I attended an event at the conference center which is connected to the hotel. I was happy with my stay there, the room was clean, the breakfast was great. My only complaint is that I asked for an iron, and they said they would not provide an iron to the room. They said I could use the laundry service, but as in all hotels, this was expensive.

Great hotel, dreadful location

The hotel itself (rooms, food, service) is great, but the location is dreadful.
There is a lot of traffic and big streets around the hotel and the only way to get away is by taking a cab. Getting into the centre of town where the tourist attractions are takes an hour whichever mode of transport you choose at most times of the day. Metro is 20 min walk from the hotel which in July heat and with all the chaotic traffic that does not care for pedestrians is no fun. There is nothing worthwhile doing near the hotel (and no nice restaurants etc). The hotel itself has a swimmingpool.
If you are going to Istanbul as a tourist do not stay in this hotel, get something in the old town.

Böyle bir otel için bunları söyleyeceğim hiç aklıma gelmezdi ancak yatak son derece eski ve inanılmaz derecede konforsuzdu. Ondan da kötüsü, içine ne bulunabildiyse doldurulmuş gibi pütür pütür yastıklar nedeniyle uyumak neredeyse imkânsızdı.

Civarda daha düzgün ve rahat bir konaklama olur düşüncesiyle özellikle bu oteli seçmiştim. Ancak yaşadığımız deneyimden sonra ne tekrar kalırım ne de kimseye tavsiye ederim.
