Staff more concerned with own cellphones than customers. Food and drinks/cocktails usually good at Vestlia, however this time the food was well below average and the cocktails, 4 out of 4, were terrible. Room missing basics like a way to make coffee and bathrobes which you expect at a «resort».

It looked like a good hotel to stay but it was very dissapointing, seriously understaffed, basic room with no tea or coffe facility. We came because of the spa but we were told it s closed because it was Sunday.... this at a 4 star hotel... The pool was open but there were at least 20 children there, running and jumping everywhere in the pool and in the small jacuzzi tub.... we left after 10 minutes. A horrible experience and we will not recommend or set foot in there again.

This is a ski resort,but we were there in June. Nice rooms,excellent restaurant and very easy parking! Not much around the hotel itself,but it had a lot of activities. Pretty much halfway between Bergen and Oslo if you are driving.

Everyone was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good.
We had to check out in the middle of the night to catch a 2:30 AM train. In my hast pack to catch our cab, I managed to leave my laptop in my room. I’ve messaged the hotel several times through the Booking app, trying to arrange to have it sent to me (at my expense, of course) but after almost two weeks, I still haven’t received a reply!

This is an amazing family resort. The hotel has tons of activities, from an infinity pool to water slide, a sizeable gym, bowling alley (cost extra), movie theater, and billiards room. The room was clean and comfortable size with bunk beds for the kids. The hotel is on a ski resort and in the summer it serves as a downhill mountain bike trail, and comprehensive above ground adventure park with lots of courses from easy to very difficult. There is also a lot of activities outside the resort such as hiking and horseback riding through the mountains. The resort has a great buffet and does offer dinner. We ate dinner there once, but the menu didn’t change so we went into town the second night and found an excellent restaurant to get more variety. We highly recommend this resort for any active family traveling in Norway

The room itself was nice. However, it had a door connected to another room which the staff had left unlocked. At 1 am during our stay the person next door walked into our room!! The staff apologized, but leaving the doors unlocked between the rooms is a HUGE safety and security issue. So, it was overall a disappointing stay.

I was here in the off season - September- so, the outdoor activities and benefits were not part of my stay. I did not realize the spa hours would be minimal for my stay, and dining was also all reserved for the evening stayed, so that is my reasoning for amenities not being great. Otherwise, staff was very friendly and a beautiful hotel and location. It is a cab ride from the train station and/ or I would call the resort next time to come and pick up, if that is an option.

As usual, staff and location excellent. Good improvements to the games room. Accommodation was disappointing. Despite the décor being in excellent condition, plastic bathroom facilities cracked/broken and no sink plug. No i room tea/coffee facilities.
Also, bed sheets are too small for the bed mattress, so sheets do not stay in place. Sofa bed also too small for sleeping two persons, unless very young children. Room should be considered as a twin/double and a single sofa bed.
Booking was for same accommodation as previous stays, but definitely not to same standard.

Dirty hotel, broken rooms - not in line with high price per night or expectations. Hair, dust rabbits, old toothbrush in bed etc...

At the same time facilities are nice and location is good, so definitely potential with better management and follow-up.

Easy parking. Location is perfect close to the Vestlia ski/bikepark. The hotel is spacious, great play area for the kids, pool and good fun for youngsters outside. The room was a bit boring with no special features. Clean, but would expect more at the price tag. Breakfast was really plane, sweaty cheese no taste, swimming bacon and terrible big pooring lousy coffee.. would expect much more from *4* stars pricy hotel in this area of the world, but they obviously cheerish looks over quality :-(

2* impression

I (40+) went on a Christmas getaway with my mom (70+). We booked a Standard room which turned out to what the hotel refer to as Economy. This meant we walked far into the old section of the resort, down a staircase, into a very old, tired room with a view of a pile of snow outside. I went to the reception and was given the impression that Economy guests have no rights to expect anything. Though my mom is fit, she was not too happy about the stairs. They told that we had not given any special requests upon booking. When I asked if a lift is a special request in a 4* resort, we were moved up a floor, very happy about that! Room was 1-2* still.
The place states to be a \"World of wellness\". It's however the first hotel (I've been to about 40-50) where hotel guests are required to pay for the spa entrance. It turned out as a non-issue, as the wellness was full (priority was given to internal/external guests paying for treatments). The pool (and resort in general) was pretty crowded, but great for families with kids it seemed.
On the plus side, the staff was doing well, and impressed me with smooth delivery of the meals, despite the crowd. The gym was big and nicely equipped. The location is good, right next to cross-country tracks and slopes (but I recommend taking the free bus to the other side: more slopes/sun/visibility).
All in all, a confirmation of my old rule: Better to have the best room in a 3* hotel, than the worst room in the higher end. This was a 2* experience.

Indoor pool with a huge slide, restaurant was awesome and our dinner was well prepared and the breakfast was amazing - great options and quality selection.

The room we were in was horrible, there were vent covers pulled out and left on the counter, our blow dryer was “fixed” by a duck tape and our sheets smelled really bad.

Overall an excellent stay. Ask the staff when to avoid the big tourist groups. The a la carte is amazing and especially the mountain trout fish. Excellent wine selection. Avoided the spa and went trekking in the beautiful mountain in stead. Maps available in the reception.

Nice hotel, friendly and very helpful staff. Leaves you with a good impression of Norwegian people. Only real issue was Wifi in the room, which was excellent for first 3 days of our stay but deteriorated when a convention kicked off in the hotel. Wifi in the public areas remained 100% so maybe it was a network balancing issue.

A comfortable stay

This is a cozy and comfortable place to relax. Reception and public areas are warm and welcoming, with a nice interior. The spa/recreation area is for people over 16 and will cost you a fee of NOK 100 if you're staying at the hotel and NOK 150 if you're just a visitor. It's nice and quiet with a pool, hot tub, steam sauna, dry sauna, cold pit and a relax area with nice and soft beds/chairs. Tea and fruit is complementary for visitors, and a selection of drinks can be bought in the spa reception. There's a seperate pool area for the kids, so everyone will be happy here. The room was clean and have a nice \"cabin\"-feel. There's a ski-lift next to the resort and a lot of activity options for the whole family in the area. Only downside with my visit is that there was some construction going on outside and on the way to the resort. Free wifi.

Modern design with traditional accents

Vestlia is beautiful - the style is modern with accents of traditional furnishings throughout the resort. We were in a large \"family room,\" which was fairly basic with a view of rooftop equipment (which was surprisingly quiet). We got a great price, so as long as the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean we were fine. Our dinner was delicious - we each ate very well. Breakfast was also delicious, with lots of choices for each family member.

Perfect stopover on grin from Bergen to Oslo

We left Bergen to take the Norway in a nutshell tour which included a train to Voss, bus to The fyords, 2 hour boat trip to Flam, the Flam railway. Instead of then taking the train back to Bergen we continue on to Geilo and arrived early evening which was perfect for a stopover and a lovely dinner before getting back on the train to Oslo the next day.

A mixed review

I feel mixed about the resort. The room was a one bedroom suite which had its own kitchenette area and lounge with a balcony. It was tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. My issue was that the kitchen area had not been thoroughly cleaned before we checked in. The fridge still had food in it and the dishwasher was still on. I reported this and housekeeping came and sorted it out. We also ate at the resort and the food was good. Unfortunately, after making a reservation as requested, the staff obviously had no record of this as the booking had not been passed on. Thankfully a table was found for us though. Hence my mixed feelings.

The hotel is more of a ski resort and thus the rooms we were given seemed pretty run down and not well mantained in addition to construction buzzing early in the morning. On top of it they either did not put in the wake up call I booked or the phone did not work (their explanation). On the other hand the area is beautiful and it is a reasonable hotel.
Breakfast, the eggs were cold but there was sufficient variety and choice.

Good hotel for families and right next to slopes

The Lobby, Restaurant and bar is very nice so are the rooms in the new part. Old pool is for kids while you have to pay 100NOK for the newer SpaPool and only for 16+. Great location, next to slopes (lots of easy skiing this side of Geilo). A la carte menu is rather small, most guests have half board. Mainly families with children during school holidays. Nice play room.

Vi bodde én natt på Vestlia Resort i juli, og det var et veldig fint opphold. Hotellet har en koselig atmosfære og fremstår som gjennomgående velholdt og innbydende.

Frokosten var god med et bredt utvalg, og det var lett å finne noe for både voksne og barn. Fasilitetene på hotellet er imponerende – spesielt innendørs lekeland, som var et stort pluss for oss. Rett utenfor hotellet ligger også en skatepark som var populær hos både store og små.

Badeområdet inne på hotellet var også en favoritt. Med sklier, boblebad og god plass til lek og avslapning, var det gøy for hele familien. Alt virket rent og godt vedlikeholdt.

Alt i alt et hotell som passer perfekt for familier, med mange aktiviteter og en avslappet, hyggelig stemning. Vi kunne lett ha blitt boende mer enn én natt – anbefales varmt!

Very fine common facilities. Loved the spacious bar area. The rooms and the facilities there were spartan. No water boiler or coffee maker. Not even glasses for water or wine. Few towels, no extra pillows. Very noisy from neighboring rooms, so poorly isolated. Great breakfast. At least the items that were hot when they were supposed to. Pricey when we booked. Friends of us who booked the next day got less than half the price. So hold your horses when booking. Do last minute.

En mycket positiv upplevelse. Bra bemötande från ankomst till avresa. Sköna sängar. Tyst och lugnt. Mycket god frukost och middag. Bra massage i SPA avdelningen. Gångavstånd till centrum, tar ca 15-20 minuter. Turområde utanför dörren.
Kommer mer än gärna tillbaka.

Tolles Resort mit sehr gutem Frühstück! Das Abendessen war allerdings eher mäßig für den Preis, ebenso die gleiche Karte für Lunch. Spa nutzbar für ca. 20€, das war angemessen. Das Schwimmbad sehr schön und kostenlos. Viele Freizeitmöglichkeiten und viel Platz zum gemütlichen Sitzen. Trotz vieler Gäste nicht zu laut. Impressive interior design in the common parts, lots of activities around the facilities and a good restaurant. Let down by the room being a bit worn down, especially the shower.

Fint hotell men renhold kunne vært bedre. Ekstra seng / sovesofa var regel rett vond å sove på.
