Enjoyed many amenities such as, swimming pool in which you can actually swim, I believe it’s between 15-20 meters long. Hot tub was not very big and wasn’t hot but wasn’t an inconvenience as both the Steam room & Sauna were great.
Breakfast was good but not excellent many of the food items were not hot.

Luxury historical hotel with delicious breakfast buffet in beautiful dining room. Deluxe room with double bed and bunk beds in newly built wing was ideal. Plenty of storage for all the ski clothes, warm, quiet, with private terrace with views. Fantastic location for Slaata ski centre and lifts.

We stayed here one night on our way back from Bergen to Oslo. It is a big sprawling (in a nice way) hotel! Comforting, traditional ski lodge style feel but the room was modern and spacious with a balcony for me, my wife and 15yr old son. The bathroom was very snug though, but clean. There is a good sports bar on site. Burgers were nice. Bar games too. The pool, sauna and outdoor hot tub were v good. The only downside is it faces the main railway station and there were a few late night freight trains running through. The breakfast buffet was v good though with great choice. Overall, I’d stay again but maybe ask for a room not at the front.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Dr Holmes Hotel. This is an older hotel with interesting styles of decor. There are also many historic paintings and artifacts. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Our dinner was excellent and we would certainly return.

Property is nice, but very dated - it seems there is a long storied history here, but it felt like nothing has been changed in decades. Room was ok, but was extremely hot - two small windows overlooking interior roof, so no breeze whatsoever. Room was also located close to the restaurant, as there was a strong fish smell the entire night that lingered into the morning.

Convenient Vintage Hotel Resort

Large, sprawling, quirky hotel. Lots of interesting old photos, decor items throughout the many common areas - fun to explore. Small but adequate room, comfortable beds, everything we needed. Quiet at this time of year, but still plenty of guests. Really enjoyed the stay.

Don’t recommend

Old and outworn, but has its charm. Very understaffed, probably one of the reasons customer service is so bad. Lots of drunk people everywhere during all times. Extremely noisy, and zero comfort at the room. Not very family friendly, except for the little playroom on 1st floor. We didn’t sleep much and ended up going home one day before. Very disappointed.

Vi hadde ett hyggelig opphold 😊 Og vi hadde ett forholdsvis stort, rent og pent rom. Noe negativt var det ettersom vi ikke kunne justere opp varmen. Ett varmt og godt bad. Frokosten er jo bare noe for seg selv, kjempeflott og noe for enhver smak, terningkast 6 for frokosten..
Til tross for mangrl på noe bedre varme, kommer vi gjerne tilbake.

Jeg var afsted med tre af mine børn (6, 7, 9 år). De nye værelser (i den nyeste fløj) var rigtig gode til os 4.

Dr. Holm er fantastisk, når det gælder nærhed til Slaatta Ski Center/skole, hvor børnene let kunne komme til skiundervisningen.
Spa, sportsbar og bowling samt mange hyggelige hjørner at spille brætspil i gjorde den samlede tur perfekt for os.

Litt mye «fiske/våt glava»lukt i korridoren fra heisen mot deluxerommene i 3.etasje, skuffende mat for prisen i sportsbaren, litt vanskelig å låse både baderomsdøren og verandadøren, ellers meget fint/fresht rom, hyggelige ansatte, god frokost (godt brød), gode parkeringsmuligheter, greit badeanlegg men manglet bobler i uteboblebadet. Highland lodge har bedre mat og freshere badeanlegg, men ikke frokosten, historien/tradisjonen og nærheten til bakkene.

The staff is very nice and really helpful! They did everything they could to make it a nice stay.

And the hotel itself lies next to the ski area. The skipass and ski rent can be done also in the hotel.

But it is a very old hotel and the rooms are not the best for the category this hotel shows. Very old bathrooms. The spa is definitely not a spa. Very small indoor whirlpool for maybe max 2-3 people. And the outdoor whirlpool (which could be a highlight) was not working and also too cold.
The rooms are not well isolated and on the saturday the bass from the apres ski could be felt through every inch in the room.

We recommend it for doing a ski trip with apres ski, but not as advertised as a spa hotel.

Det orginal rommet vi hadde bestilt var iskaldt og det trakk veldig fra vinduene. Vi fikk heldigvis nytt rom i nye avdelinger takknemlig for det. Disse var renovert og kjempe fine —- og varme!! Eneste problemet var at de som bodde ved siden av festet hele natten, så den første natten fikk vi ikke sove før 03.00 og natt nr 2 var bedre men de holdt på sent. Hadde de bare snakket og hørt på musikk var en ting men de smalt i døren hele tiden så alt ristet- veldig slitsomt for oss som var på tur for å prøve og slappe av og for en gang skyld uten barn og få noen timer med søvn!!

Frokosten var ikke særlig imponerende- den var helt grei.

Spaet var koselig, og damen som utførte massasjen veldig flink og hyggelig.

Vi spiste kun middag på hotellet på fredag- det var en helt ok smash burger. Personalet i baren super hyggelig ☺️ Kokken sto og pelte seg i øret og håret men han lagde mat uten hansker :(

Resepsjonen var hyggelige men veldig tiltaksløse. De kunne lite om hotellet og viste ikke hvor ting var eller åpningstider på restaurantene på hotellet. Dette var litt rart.

Nydelig middagsbuffet med ferske råvarer, god frokost og flotte omgivelser med god atmosfære. Store fellesarealer med erværdige omgivelser. De siste 10% mangler på renhold (f.eks. vindusflater, ryddighet på benker og bord og resepsjonen, renhold i garderober og basseng). Når dette og litt småoppussing her og der (f.eks. lyssetting i hyller på rommet - her er vanskelig å se klærne sine) er tatt hånd om, vil dette flotte historiske hotellet være tilbake for fullt.

Hei frokostmenyen kunne ha vært enda litt bedre med litt bedre utvalg, dvs helt grei. Spa ute og inne var litt kalde dessverre, og ute var det livsfarlig (glatt) her må det være en løsning slik det er ned trappen da den er god nok.

Personale i resepsjon er hverken spesielt vennlige eller serviceminded, virker som dem nærmest er sjenert og/eller underbemannet.

Utvalget på tap øl i sportsbaren var dessverre dårlig.

Det er ikke å stikke under en stol at hotellet er gammelt, men på tross av det føltes standarden bra!
Vannet i bassenget kunne med fordel vært 5grader varmere, og badstuen kunne vært 15-20 grader varmere..
