What a wonderful hotel! Service was professional, friendly and efficient. Our bedroom (42) was perfect for a two night stay and the bed was comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were top notch, although more choice on the dinner menu would be good if staying for longer. And the views/location are the icing on the cake.

We have been looking very much forward to this venue. After all this is a higher priced accommodation and so our expectations have been similarly high. The hotel is a blast! Very nice welcome at the reception and a spectacular room in the tower of the castle. Then we went for dinner and it starts: having an apperitive at the bar. Not so easy. We were waiting for 20min until someone recognized us. Ordered, and then 10min nothing. Someone else came and we had to reorder to wait another 15min for the drink. A good drink, no doubt. Then over to the dinner: it took the team 30min to present us the menus, another 25min for our first drink. So one hour in, we ask for a wine recommendation and the sommelier comes with wines stating we nevertheless don’t know the wines. Interesting, he could have tried us. Between the courses at least 30min waiting time. Arrogant further recommendations on other wines (e.g. I brought it you will like it and pouring - wait, I want to know what’s in my glass). Breakfast was the same. Annoyed and over stressed waiters. Conclusion: Hotel and rooms are amazing, anything around food and drinks, chaos. Not sure we are coming back here.

The Chateau is on the verge of being a major destination hotel A few small things in the rooms (robes, down pillows) and some substantial redecoration in the main rooms (lobby, bar and dining room) would advance that objective The dining room staff was thoughtful and sweet but sometimes confused. Overall however the staff is exceptional considering the remote location The setting is glorious and the facilities are high-end

This property is absolutely breathtaking.
Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night. It was clear when we arrived that this was a top quality, exceptional hotel.

The chateau is surrounding by the mountains of the Drome region and you felt as though you were the only one for miles around. It was quiet and safe and just a fantastic experience overall. The restaurant is also exceptional.

A few changes & it could be special

The hotel itself is lovely - it’s in a wonderful setting - beautifully renovated - the rooms are elegant & very comfortable. Great bathrooms. I think it’s a pity that there are no kettles or nespresso machines in the rooms nor is it possible to have a hot drink in your room in the morning. Not everyone wants to be up & dressed & down for breakfast by 10am. Or have a full buffet breakfast. Staff were a bit hit & miss - the main afternoon host - Arnaud I think - is lovely. The young bar man also pleasant. But it’s the restaurant that let the hotel down for us. One night it was pleasant however the next night simply not worth the money.

Beautiful hotel, unique experience. Everything was perfect. The staff is great. Amazing value for cost. Pool and grounds are spectacular. Food is top quality - the restaurant alone is worth visiting. I will definitely be back. The only thing is that the shower head in our room was way too low - I am 5’6 and had to crouch down. It seems to be a design flaw only in this room as my family member was in another room where the shower was fine. Everything else in the room is great.

A delightful hotel full of historic interest set in beautiful grounds with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Dinner was memorable with superb food and an extensive wine list. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The outdoor swimming pool was exactly what was needed after a long days drive. A stay here will definitely not disappoint.

Wonderful place in the Southern Rhone

We stayed for 2 nights in September 2017 and we had a wonderful time. The chateau is situated in the village of Charols near Montelimar and in the northern part of the Southern Rhone valley. It was close to many wineries, which we visited. The mountain views at the chateau were spectacular. The room was quite large, clean, and looked like it had been recently renovated. A bathrobe, slippers, and drinking water were provided. The facilities were all very modern, and there was also an outdoor pool and a small spa. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food and wine were both excellent.

The staff were truly wonderful, and most spoke perfect English. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We arrived later than expected, as we were driving from St. Tropez - nonetheless, the staff were able to accommodate our late arrival and even put together some bread and a cheese plate for us even though the restaurant had closed for the evening.

Overall, we had a great experience and would strongly recommend the chateau to friends and family.

A wonderful place to stay

Everything about this trip was perfect, apart from the fact that I was only staying for one night! The hotel kindly arranged a taxi from the train station for me (about €35) and I had a pleasant ride through the French countryside to the Chateau. It is certainly the prettiest hotel I have ever stayed at, and the views of the surrounding countryside and pre-Alps are absolutely amazing.

The room was very nice and comfortable, but most of my time was spent enjoying the surroundings and laying by the pool which is lovely (there's a second pool too). The staff were very courteous and accommodating, even specially preparing me a cheese board even though the kitchen was closed as I'd not had time to eat on my journey there. Dinner too was amazing with every course extremely well presented and delicious.

It is one of the most relaxing and tranquil places I have ever stayed and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Amazingly beautiful location!

This hotel is a great get-away at a beautiful location that, while somewhat remote, is especially convenient to Northern Rhone Valley locations. The accommodations seems newly renovated in a modern, pleasing style. All staff are very nice with the slight exception of the restaurant staff.
Communications from reception prior to and following my stay were excellent and most of all
accommodating to late check in and in room, light meal after restaurant hours. Over all my rating would be 4.8 to be exact. I will absolutely return with family this time. This is a family friendly hotel without the lose of serenity for those traveling sans kids.

We were there for one day but we decided to stay for another day since it was wonderful. The swimming pool has a nice view on the amazing nature of Drome Pronvencal.
Don't hesitate to discover this hotel located in a quiet place.

The property is excellent. It is an amazing tranquile place with great surroundings. If you are looking for peace and beauty, this is the place.
The staff are another great thing about this place. They are very welcoming and helpful. You dont feel you are in a hotel but being hosted by friends. The food was amazing. Fresh and tasty. I would definitly come back.

Suggestion for hotel: if they can add slippers for the room as the floor was a little cold. I know the hotel has only opened three years ago, but the surrounding property can also add to the beauty of this place by creating more walking trails within the woods.
And I would like to say thank you for all hotel staff for a beautiful stay.

We enjoyed our stay very much. When we arrived we were not satisfied with the shower. So they upgraded us for a suite which was beautiful. Food was lovely but the service was a bit slow towards the end. We will come back very soon. The landscape with the autumn colours was beautiful. The staff was very nice.

A nice break away.

We spent two nights here in July. Over all it was a nice break for the two of us. The pool area is lovely and I found the history of the place interesting. It's a credit to the owners who restored the building.
We were interested in extending our stay from two nights to three nights, when we enquired with the owner he wasn't very welcoming. Had he suggested a reduced rate for the extra night, or up-grade our room, we would have stayed with them for an extra night. In the end we found a nice gite to spend our third night.
Also when we stayed it was really hot and the air con wasn't working so neither of us slept too well.
In saying that, the hotel is a nice place to lounge and relax but also a good base to explore the area. One day we canoed down the Drôme and another day we visited Grignan, which I loved. I'd return with our children next time.

Great Chateau with a great deal of money spend to developing it. Good location and loevly room. However it lacked the personal touch. No room service, no bottled water or tea or coffee in the room. No bath sheets or robes. No evening meal available as closed on the day we stayed. Hotel virtually empty, would have been a nice touch to offer an upgrade!

Je tiens à exprimer toute ma joie d’avoir séjourné dans cet établissement. Dès mon arrivée jusqu’à mon départ, tout a été absolument parfait. Le personnel s’est montré d’une grande attention, toujours aimable, courtois et souriant, ce qui a largement contribué à rendre mon séjour des plus agréables.

Mention spéciale pour le repas, qui était tout simplement fabuleux : une explosion de saveurs et un véritable plaisir pour les sens. Un grand bravo à toute l’équipe pour cette qualité d’accueil et de service irréprochable. Je repars avec d’excellents souvenirs et l’envie de revenir très vite !

Très bel hôtel à l’environnement agréable. Belles chambres propres et bien équipées. Un seul bémol le bruit du chauffage qui nous a empêché de dormir. Excellent dîner au restaurant le Lavendin qui vaut le détour. Par contre petit déjeuner cher par rapport à ce que l’on nous propose. Nous reviendrons certainement pour le restaurant

De l'accueil le samedi, au départ le dimanche, nous avons rencontré des personnes très sympathiques à tous les échelons. Un cadre magnifique qui a sublimé notre séjour, reposant et gourmand. Très bel endroit, au calme. Service irréprochable, conforme à ce qu'on peut attendre dans ce niveau d'établissement.
Belle piscine, spa très agréable, chambre très confortable, bien insonorisée, bonne literie, belle salle de bains.
Seul petit bémol, pas de possibilité de restauration le midi, le grill étant fermé pour une durée indéterminée apparemment.

Lieu absolument magnifique et personnel charmant quoiqu’un peu débordé, le patron y compris.
Un seul bémol, la qualité des chambres, hélas pas à la hauteur de ce que l’on est en droit d’attendre pour ce genre d’établissement : serviettes de la salle de bain petites, élimées et pas changées, pas de peignoirs, pas de prises anti-moustiques (prévoyez une bombe), WC dans la salle de bain, etc.
Un écrin magique, mais la qualité des chambres est à revoir.

Wunderschönes Hotel in einzigartiger Lage

Wir haben das Hotel als Zwischenstopp für unsere Rückreise von Spanien nach Deutschland ausgewählt und haben die Fahrt von der Autobahn bis dahin nicht bereut.
Wir wurden außerordentlich freundlich und zuvorkommend begrüßt und auch das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet.
Überhaupt merkt man die Liebe zum Detail in allen Räumlichkeiten bzw. bei den Außenanlagen.

Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und auch hier war der Service sehr freundlich.

Leider war das Restaurant an dem Abend unserer Ankunft geschlossen, so dass wir nicht in den Genuss der Küche kamen.

Aber wir kommen wieder und bleiben dann auch länger!

Réservé sur internet sans disposer d'information préalable, nous avons été subjugués. Un \"sans faute\" tant au niveau de l'accueil, du cadre, de la bonne table,... Pourtant exigeants, nous avons été comblés pendant cette escapade d'un week-end dans ce lieu plus que recommandable. Suite avec salle de bains surprenante dans une tourelle, braséro extérieur le soir favorisant les échanges conviviaux avec les autres clients, service discret, présent et personnalisé en même temps,... Nous comprenons pourquoi plusieurs clients y retournent chaque année. Merci pour ce court mais exquis séjour !
