The total is at proximity walking distance to the beach. The total is outdated, very small rooms, area around isn’t the best and noisy. The pool is very small, not as advertised. The full board is very limited of choices. The rooms service staff and Montse up front are very nice.

This was our second stay at Hotel Bernatt 11. It is a lovely hotel that is close to the beach and a short walk to Calella town.

It is always clean and tidy and the staff show pride in their work.

Food was lovely as always.

The pool has been updated this past year - looks really nice with the additional paddling space for little children. The materials used in the revamp are coming away, so it seems that it will need to be redone again soon.

Stand-out staff.

Receptionist Montse was a diamond when checking in, she also rescued me from the balcony when I managed to lock myself out. She is very kind and helpful, always smiling.

Unfortunately the wifi did not work in the room due to power outages (city wide! Not hotels fault) and the wifi range extender was broken on second floor.

The night receptionist mocked/questioned me slightly for asking for an extra blanket.

The pool area has been renovated and does not reflect in the pictures, I would argue the layout has improved however the grout and paint is chipping loose and floating in the pool water.

Breakfast was lovely. Had two great nights sleep, amenities in the room worked well.

Beautiful hotel, clean and tidy. Welcoming and accommodating staff and always happy to help.
Really good selection of food each day at the buffets.

Only thing, the childrens entertainment (mini disco) started a little later than we had anticipated (21.30). However the ladies who ran the mini club from 17.30 were amazing, super friendly and my daughter (4yrs) loved them.

I would highly recommend this hotel, as it was perfecf for our first time abroad with our little one.

The beach was about 5 minutes walk from the hotel and the town centre about a 10 minute walk. Good location

Great hotel for the money! Clean, comfortable and nice environment with good facilities. We stayed with our 8 month old boy, they provided a cot bed and there was a kids pool for him to have a little kick around in with a little help from us. Will definitely stay again when we come back to Calella!

Amazing stay for the price! Clean and very elegant. Best part is the buffet that has a live chef and a fine dining atmosphere. I would stay again and reccomend this place to everyone. Less than a ten minute walk to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the train station so great location awell.

Hotel was clean, and very nice, rooms were lovely as were the bedrooms only let down was the shower, it worked but just wasn't as nice as the rest of the room, didn't flow well and seemed cheap.

Good quality 4* Spanish hotel & reasonably priced

We stayed on the 4th floor which has been refurbished well in bright and neutral colours. Lighting is very modern and the 4 piece bathroom was also very nice. Every room also has a balcony and drying rail.
The reception staff are excellent and full of local knowledge and dealt with issues immediately. They also arranged our hire car without any issues.
The bar, pool and lobby are smart, clean and not too busy and we found all to be perfectly good for a 40 something couple on a weeks holiday.
Restaurant was nothing flash, just a decent selection of offerings at very reasonable prices especially if you’re on full board.
Our second stay and definitely not our last.

We loved this hotel! It is in such a good location, a lovely atmosphere and good food! The evening entertainment was also brilliant. We didn’t use either of the pools- the outside one was quite small but the sea was so lovely it didn’t really affect us. Our room was very nice and clean too, Would highly recommend!

Family holiday in Calella. We found the hotel to be quite noisy due to groups of teenagers staying there. The staff were all very helpful, food good but not much menu variation, location is ok - about 200 metres from the beach.

Arrived and found reception staff not that friendly. The car park was at another hotel about 5 minutes walk away. if you have a car you have to wait for a space in the unloading section to unload your stuff as it's too hard to drag it from the other hotel. The first thing you have to do is pay the tax.
Then you have to pay 10 euros for a car park ticket before you can use the car park.
But before you park your car you have to check in .... but you only had ten minutes in loading area! The restaurant is the saving aspect of this hotel with James and his team really friendly and helpful. food was fresh and great choice of foods. lots of healthy products too.

It is a beautiful hotel however the staffs were not helpful and seemed quite stuck up. The facilities and room service was not great as we asked for new bath robes and new beddings and was advised they can’t provide new robes neither new bedding unless 3 days old. Duvet was just a blanket with sheets on top really not comfortable

Would not recommend for solo traveller, especially if a senior. Hotel appears to cater to families with young children, or groups of young people, and the soundproofing is poor so you will hear kids running up and down laminated flooring, adjoining room guests conversing etc. The location is good / convenient and the rooms and other areas were clean.

Nice relaxing hotel

We chose this hotel due to location and it's relaxing appeal with the spa as my husband was taking part in the Ironman event. The hotel was the perfect location for this due to its close proximity to the beach. The hotel was clean with friendly staff. We stayed in a standard room, which was quite basic but served its purpose. Lovely bathroom with bath and shower. Photo of the pool a bit deceiving- pool area quite small, I felt that it was lacking in atmosphere but that could have been due to the time of year/end of holiday season Really good wifi in all areas of the hotel. No English speaking tv channels which would have been nice! Having not expected the wifi to be so good I didn't bring iPad otherwise the tv wouldn't have been an issue! Slight niggle that constantly had to ask reception to locate staff to serve drinks at the bar, maybe it was the time of year and they didn't have enough staff. The machines that served the hot drinks didn't work so only option to have a hot drink at hotel was from the bar (unless opted for inclusive meals). Having said all of that it was a nice relaxing hotel which was what we wanted, especially for the few days prior to the Ironman event. If visiting Callela again, would definitely consider staying here again. If you are after a quiet hotel then this is it!

The hotel was nice and comfortable. I will say the only downside was the good at the restaurant. We stayed 10 days and had almost every night the same type of food which was disapointing for a 4* hotel. We were in the region of Catalonia and not once we had their speciality of 'crème Catalane' but we happen to eat at an hotel nearby a 3* and they had a better selection of food.
Also the pool can be a bit small when it gets busy but there is always the beach which is nice and there is facilities for children too.
The hotel was good to offer activities at a discount
Overall we enjoyed our stay!!

Would not recommend this hotel - very unhelpful reception staff, balconies so close that there is no privacy. Our air conditioning was not working and we had a very unpleasant experience trying to get it fixed as the temps were in the 30's and it was impossible to be in the room without it. No other rooms available but they said we could have a shower in a room and return to ours. Maintenance man and reception hassling us to get out of the room despite only being there under an hour having driven all day. Very rude receptionist next day when contacted to speak to manager. Despite acknowledging that the whole thing had been handled badly, the manager was very uncompromising in his approach and manner. We travel a lot in Spain, this was one of the most expensive hotels we were in on this trip and most certainly the worst - would return to Calella again but there are plenty of other hotels to choose from so will certainly never stay here again.

The rooms are big and clean but the beds are super uncomfortable. Never felt very welcomed there. Not very friendly. The maids walk into your room even when you have the do not disturb sign up. You felt rushed to get out of the room. The buffet is pretty good for the money. Its not a bad place but wouldn't go back.

We had a great holiday in Calella and enjoyed staying at Hotel Bernat 11. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Our 7 year old daughter loved the mini disco every evening which was followed by an hour's entertainment. The food in the hotel was delicious and there was a good variety every evening. Drinks at the hotel bar were not over priced either. Our rooms were cleaned every day. Perhaps tea/ coffee making facilities would have been welcomed in our room and an iron. Apart from that I would highly recommend this hotel for a family holiday.

A very nice short break (5 days) on 1/2 board. Drinks not too expensive. Lovely Spa of which I used every day (1st day included in the price) Spa could do with some lounges. Outdoor pool is medium sized. No night life on when I stayed (end of Sept). Corridors near my room were noisy on a night with gangs of German teenagers!

Great hotel!

The hotel is a great base for a stay in Calella.
The all inclusive was ok- the food wasn't great although neither of us eat fish and there was a lot of fish on offer. We liked it for the steady flow of drinks. The bar stocked a good selection of alcohol(not all inclusive) and were generous with pouring them!
The pool area was spotless and we always got a subbed although the pool is small. People seem to come and go a lot, it wasn't a problem getting a bed at any point!
The location was great. Short walk to the busy centre with lots of nice restaurants and some bars. Also very close to the beach, with discounts on sun beds/parasols and drinks at the BK beach club.
There is a little shop just next to the hotel run by a very nice man and his partner, ideal to pick up snacks and water for your room plus lilos etc.
The rooms were small but cleaned every day. There was a mini fridge and we were impressed that when we arrived at 10pm they had prepared some sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt and water for us. We didn't hear a sound from anyone in the rooms above/below us or next to us either.
We received 1hr free in the spa which was lovely, very relaxing!

Overall we had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone planning a stay in Calella!

The hotel is a minutes walk to a fabulous beach. The hotel itself is friendly and stylish and made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We went for the all inclusive deal which was excellent. The food was plentiful and care was taken to offer a variety of menus. A lovely dining room and stylish interior to the hotel and rooms. I will go back again.

We arrived tired, and struggled when asked to pay for additional items such as a room safe, the indoor pool and car parking and the room smelt of ciggarettes.

However, although the main courses in the dining room were a bit stale at times, the food was generally excellent, generous and healthy, the staff were friendly, and we soon felt rested and happy to be there.

We did not use the indoor pool as that was an expensive additional cost - but we enjoyed the small sheltered beaches to the south of the main beach.

We would go again.

On arrival we were allocated a room which was substandard; however when I complained to the reception I was offered an alternative immediately.

Communal areas were of a good standard. Prices at the bar were reasonable.

We had a complimentary session in the spa which had to be booked in advance - this was great as we had the whole spa to ourselves.

Didn't like sharing a pillow!

Stayed several times before and have been well pleased. This time however, there was a 5ft bolster pillow on the bed, not individual pillows! Didn't sleep a wink! Also breakfast was poor with sugared artificial fruit juice. A 4 star hotel should be better than this.

Good selection of choices at breakfast and dinner. Close to supermarket which is good and beach is close to. The area is very quite during the month of March wasn't much to do as this is the quiet time of year. The room was modern deco and clean. The spa was really lovely as we had it exclusively for ourselves for an hour. The massage was great! The hotel is about 10 -20 min walk from the train station calella which is good so a trip to Barcelona or other towns are easy to reach. Would definTely recommend this hotel and area for anyone who desires a relaxing holiday

It was hard to sleep because I could hear every time someone walked by my room and lots of noise from outside the window too.

Probably best hotel in Calella

I've got family in the area so I've stayed in a few hotels in Calella. There's no where that's outstanding so the Bernat is probably the best of the bunch. It's clean, with decent all-inclusive food. The rooms are a little cramped for families & the service in the bar could be improved. Overall though, it's a good hotel that is just out of the main town (only a 5 minute walk) but it means that there's no real noise from clubs/bars & it's a short stroll to the beach.

Full board meal was excellent.

Overall the hotel was good. The full board meals was excellent, definitely worth extra $. Wished if the hotel was right in the beach but within about 2 blocks of walk the beach was there. The room was good but the small refrigerator was not cold enough. It can be very noisy in the streets in the middle of night which I think is typical in most of the Spain. Overall the hotel is nice with excellent meal service and right close to the beach and the town shopping district.

Great food

We stayed in this hotel for five enjoyable days with half board, breakfast and lunch. The two daily meals were really excellent. /sometimes the dining room was noisy, with some families with noisy children. However, aside from this, the friendly staff, the hotel amenities, the cleanliness, all these contrributed to a very enjoyable stay near Barcelona.

Good, reasonably-priced family hotel.

The welcome was very friendly; the receptionist spoke excellent English and was able to answer all our questions. Our room was medium-sized with interconnecting doors to the family extra bed; we had two balconies and particularly appreciated the large bathroom which was well-stocked with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries.

Breakfast was superb, with a wide choice of hot and cold options. The half-past ten cutoff point was good if we didn't fancy getting up particularly early.

Drinks in the hotel bar were reasonably priced, both for coffee and cocktails.

The pool area was immaculately clean and the water was nice and warm.

The hotel is conveniently located for beach and local restaurants. There are supermarkets nearby and bus stops are close by. There is a fifteen minute walk to the train station which gives you direct and inexpensive access to Barcelona.
