Great stay, clean room and spacious. Great price and we enjoyed the breakfast which includes a croissant, muffin, and baby bell. Only complaint was the parking and we had to park a 5 min walk from our room. Really not a problem at all. Would recommend

This was an OK visit at the Olympic Lodge. It was clean but could use a bit of a refresher.
The furniture was well worn and the bath had no bar in the shower/tub and needed updating. But I did love the shutters on the sliding glass doors to the deck, they were cool. If you don't do well on stairs, do not stay on the second floor. they are concrete and there are 27 steps with no mid landing. Location is nice, it was quite.

You can easily walk down to the trail from the hotel but be prepared to walk back uphill once your there, my Garmin clocked it at about half a mile. If you like to run or walk it’s a nice place to do that in the AM. Turn right at the bottom of the hill and the trail takes you to Lovers Point, Cannery Row or keep going to the wharf, turn left and you’ll end up on some 17 mile drive stops…also nice. The hotel itself does not have AC that we could find, only a heater. It has a sliding glass door which was kinda weird. It still uses regular keys. If you want fresh air you’d have to leave the slider open and I guess you can lock that but if I’m by myself and the only thing protecting me in the night from a thief or worse is a screen door I’m probably not going to go with that option. There wasn’t enough parking, so we had to park across the street next to the apartments. They have crossaints, muffins, babybel cheese and coffee and juice boxes for the morning, which was nice. The bathroom was a little small and the tub had a weird slope so might want to be careful. The morning attendant must have been having a bad morning as he was not friendly or engaging, maybe he’s the owner? The lady in the evening was nice. The price was good for where we wanted to be, which was close to the sea. Enjoy! A few rooms have an ocean view, ours did not so if that’s what you want be sure to ask for a room with a view. Seemed like those rooms had real doors, not sliders.

This place is extraordinarily clean. When available the staff was helpful and friendly. The important thing to remember is that this is an older building so that means that plumbing is older, the outside is older, and the furniture is too, but our bed was comfortable and again it was super clean. I felt so safe in there because it was so tidy, and we had a balcony with chairs and that was really helpful too. It is a really a skip to the beach and you can’t beat that!

Pros: Quite neighborhood and is next to a restaurant. It’s 2 mins away from the beach and if you get the right room, you can see the ocean from the second floor. A small breakfast snack was provided between 8-9 but don’t expect much. Staff is friendly, at check in they have good explanations of the property. When I couldn’t figure out where the electrical fan was I had ask a clean and he was more than welcome to help.
Con’s: Nature’s AC. There is no central air, only electric fan. Would not recommend this motel in the summer or you’ll get baked. Front door to room is a sliding glass door so a lot of heat will get in. My room 213, the security screen was broken and torn, off its track, bent, and could not lock. Yes I had to open my front door during summer to get air in because there is no window. Fridge was put on max but was not the coldest. Room ceiling had dark spots like there are water damage. Parking on property is very limited so expect to park on the road.

Location and price for the area was good. Property is older and tired - needs an upgrade. No AC. Funny smell in room but airs out quickly once doors are opened. Sheets were stained but staff immediately changed entire set when notified. Overall enjoyed stay - what was wrong was quickly fixed.

Also if you like Hot dogs 100% visit Lucy's next door for a quick bite
Over all my room was very big, the room heated up well with the heater ( flap on the top left corner) ,, wish i stayed an extra day
Oh and visit the lighthouse just at the end of the street,, the museum is worth it too
Oh and love the mallard duck theme too

I’m not one to say bad things about a place, but here you are really paying for location. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows were not great either. I could hear people talking and even snoring through the walls. The Tv has only old school cable and there were no windows in our room. Only a sliding glass door to get in and out. There are also bright lights that light the outside walkways that shine into the room as there are these odd plastic shutters along the sliding glass door that didn’t shut completely. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience in my opinion.

We enjoyed our stay at Olympia Lodge. The location was especially good. We were close to attractions in Monterey and Pacific Grove. We were a very short drive to the downtown of Pacific Grove and many restaurants. One challenge was parking in the hotel lot. There was not enough space and it did fill up. The room was comfortable and clean. It did seem to have had some updates although it was not a new building. We would stay again.

I am a repeat customer at the Olympia Lodge. I find the property to be clean, quiet, and the location is great. The price is very well for the area as well. The lodge offers breakfast in the form of a to-go box in the lobby. It is a a croissant, a piece of cheese, a cookie, and two mints. Fruit juice boxes and apples were also available, as well as coffee and tea. Hardly a breakfast, but it came in handy to supplement food I had. Free parking, free wi-fi, microwave and small refrigerator in the room.

Hotel is in a good location, fairly priced, and staff was pleasant, but the room had a horrible smell that felt like a combiation of raw sewage and some kind of a mold. This terrible smell ruined our vacation and even permeated into our cloths and luggage. The health department should absolutely look into this place! Do not book a night here!

The boxed continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise and was perfect for our needs and tastes. We like the location because we can walk into downtown Pacific Grove for shops and restaurants, not have to drive, and it's enough distance to count as good exercise. The area feels safe and looks attractive and pleasant. Next time, we would pay extra to get a room with a private balcony.

Not a lot of parking in the lot and some of the spaces are small; there is street parking, but in a neighborhood with a lot of hotels, apartments, and condos, so it can fill up at night. Room was musty and only had a sliding glass door (which was also the only door, no windwos) to get any fresh air inside - other rooms may have more options.

Negatives were when we got in around 8:30-9 ish there was no parking available. Had to unload in driveway and park next door. Breakfast was offered quite late at 8 so we were unable to enjoy that perk. Overall would stay again.

If not, then you will have to park in the street.
Plus the parking spaces are small in width size.
It is easy to get too and Lucy’s is right next door.
The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable.

Room 213 suffers from a constant dripping on the roof above, all night long, coming from the third floor roof. Very annoying, and earplugs required. Bed squeaks. Parking is good unless fully booked- then you may need to park on the street. Occasional but not daily room make-up service.

Olympia Lodge was a great stay for our Monterey weekend trip. Property was clean and lobby was nice. Limited hours due to staffing shortages so i would recommend checking in before 6pm. Breakfast was provided and the double queen room was spacious and even had a patio. Loved the spacious closet as well! Only thing was no hand soap provided, walls are thin, and parking was limited. There is free street parking on the street of where the hotel is located so it worked out. There is even a ice cream shop next to the hotel. Overall i would recommend this hotel if you want to be super close by the aquarium, fishermans wharf, beaches and Carmel, CA +17-mile drive.

We had a very pleasant two-night stay at Olympia Lodge. Our rooms were on the upper floor so we got to enjoy the beautiful high ceilings. The property was clean and well kept and we had no problem finding parking near the stairs, even with us going in and out several times a day. The breakfast boxes are a great concept. The only thing we could have wished for would be for them to be available earlier, but it wasn’t a big deal for us. We greatly enjoyed the proximity to the waterfront and the ability to walk the beautiful streets around the inn.

9/10 The stay was exactly what we expected, for the price of the room and a last-minute reservation. Room was dated, but spacious. Room, fridge, microwave, and sheets were clean. Parking was good, surrounding area felt safe, and room was quiet. We slept well. From the lodge, a short walk to beach, golf course, and lighthouse. Our room had a balcony, from which we could see the ocean. Front desk staff was polite and helpful—appreciated that!

The hotel is aging and has that old house smell. However, our room was large and clean, with a lovely high ceiling. We could see the ocean from our balcony. The hotel is situated close to the lighthouse beach and the monarch sanctuary and is a short drive to the restaurants in Pacific Grove. It is quieter here than Cannery Row. The parking lot is small, so we had to street park after getting back late from dinner. This wasn’t a problem for us, but would be a consideration if you have mobility issues. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would book again.

Room was musty and hot - we got the one without a balcony but did not realize it would have these weird patio doors - kinda off putting keeping them open for fresh air. Otherwise beds and linen were clean and comfy. Bathtub could do with an upgrade - had lots of chips. Location was amazing - easy walk to beach or downtown in opposite direction. Loved the included breakfast boxes - wish they did yoghurts for a healthier option. Drinking water was a nuisance since they had a pitcher in the back office you had to ask for. Overall we had a nice stay - just wish the room wasn’t so stuffy!
