We arrived early at the hotel and we were able to checkin earlier after a short waiting time. The room was lovely and well equipped. The shower was huge and there were tools for a thai bath.
The hotel location is calm and the garden is beautiful with water.
The restaurant and food were good with a lot of choice.
Disappointing was the cold water in the pool.
Only 10 minutes walk from the hotel is a vanilla farm, where we made an appointment for a tour.

It was out-dated room a bit but in a good way for me. Something that makes you feel like traveling back in time in Chaing Rai. the GM Eric and all staffs are so kind and friendly. Their hospitality mind just out of the wolrd for this price point. I never had any breakfast with live thai traditional music before and I can see all the attention to details for creating such a nice ambience to the place. Magical ! Thank you for the experience

The Legend is a lovely hotel by the river. The rooms are large charming cottage-style, some with patio and the sound of fountains. The hotel restaurant we chose (there a two) has very good Thai food at reasonable prices. Service is exceptional.

A very restful setting. This hotel takes advantage of the Kok River which flows throughs Chiang Rai. The rooms are in a beautiful garden setting. They are clean, air-conditioned, and well maintained. Staff are delightful. It is a 5 minute ride ~2km from the clock tower in the centre of town. Transport and tours to any location can be arranged from the desk. We would be delighted to stay here again.

The breakfast buffet is beyond amazing. All the food is special and fresh with local food options.

We had an amazing stay. We spent a little more to be closer to nature and away from the town and it was definitely worth it. While still walkable to the town and the night markets, The Legend offers a nice secluded vibe with an amazing staff who are well versed in hospitality. The GM there, Eric Hallin, is a warm and convivial host. He personally greeted us at our check in and made sure to touch base with us at breakfast or in passing throughout our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. He could always be found making rounds during mealtimes chatting with all the guests and making sure everyone was satisfied. The rooms were very clean and spacious and it was a quiet, comfortable sleep. The pool area backs on to the river and we loved enjoying happy hour with a great view. Would highly recommend!

A beautiful property suffered from a major flood a few months back. It is clear they are still recovering. Our room was beautiful, spacious, quiet, and clean. The resort has a great spa and breakfast. The property has grown trees beautifully kept with tasteful decoration. The general manager greeted us every morning. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and polite except for the main person at the front desk. This is why we rated the proper four stars instead for of five. The hotel site & guest booklet suggested that we contact the front desk for most of our questions. However, we stayed for 5days/4 nights and every time we sought help from the front desk we had to deal with the most unhelpful and unenthusiastic receptionist. We had to force her to say hello to us and probed her to answer questions otherwise she would just say and looked at us blankly. My daughter thought it maybe because we are Thai and not foreigners. She needs a new career option & the resort definitely needs an enthusiastic happy front desk person who is willing to step out in front to assist guests. We dreaded having to ask for help from the front desk and hope that other guests didn’t have similar experience. If so, it is so unfortunate for such a wonderful team of staff & a great facility

It’s good hotel overall if you are staying at Chiang Raí for a day or two, not luxurious - it’s does the job. You have to have an open mind it in a small town and that’s pretty much what they have to offer.
Over all ok for the price. Limited transportation, you have to arrange taxi for round trip if want to go to downtown

This was a lovely hotel. It consists of a number of buildings with different sized rooms, all spacious. I had a more basic room but it still had a large bed and daybed as well as space for a decent bathroom and storage.

The breakfast was plentiful with a good choice.

The location of the hotel by the river is lovely but it is a little out of the centre of town. You can walk to the night bazaar in 20 to 30 minutes ,
I believe you could get a taxi relatively easily for a reasonable price.

I would certainly recommend this hotel for a quiet restful break and I would certainly book the hotel again

Not so great. Apparently there are 80 rooms and it certainly wasnt full. But upon checking we were put in the furthest rooms on the perimeter next to the road. Very loud at night + in early morning.
Breakfast was mediocre at best (compared to other places we stayed in northern Thailand in similar price range).
Very buggy, many mosquitoes due to ponds throughout the property and the river. While pretty, it was not worth the money.
We scheduled a GrabPlus 3 days in advance to ensure we had 6am transport to the Lao border crossing. I started getting nervous abt lack of driver confirmation from Grab, so talked front desk staff. They said 98% chance we’d get picked up and not to worry!! I asked if they could provide a backup transport option but they said no they couldn’t think of any taxis or other services who would pick us up at that early hour.
At 8pm the night before Grab cancelled our scheduled ride. Fortunately we had done Cooking with Ann the day before — she is a lovely + extremely competent woman. I WhatsApp’d her to see if she knew of any drivers or friends who could help us out early the next morning. 10 minutes later we had a confirmed ride!!
Resort food and laundry services were ridiculously overpriced. $21 for dinner? One laundered t-shirt for 25bht? There’s a lovely self-serve laundromat half a block away from hotel. We washed ALL of our clothes a single LG machine for 40bht.
I don't know of a better accommodation to recommend but i’m sure there is one!

What a gem! We fell in love with this special place - a gorgeous view of the river, surrounded by trees and sounds of nature. The rooms were beautiful. We were so touched by the welcome fruit and the care of the staff. So many dining options at this place - whoever is in the kitchen is crafting very delicious dishes, we were so impressed by the cooking. I would like to thank all the staff at the Legend Hotel for their wonderful hospitality. I was so happy there, that I extended my trip by a few more days.
Eric the GM, and Stefan were always around to make sure everything was good, and they advised and recommended various things.
The one day tour to see the 9 sights in Chiang Rai with JTTT was fantastic and a good price at THB1000 per person.
The restaurants onsite included an italian restaurant and local thai food, so you had a great selection to choose from, and it was really good quality and tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful - everything served with a smile - thank you to Mai and her team.
The pool was wonderful, and I spent many hours there on my trip.
This hotel is a bit out of town, so use Grab to get a taxi etc. but it was so peaceful with lovely views of the river it is worth being slightly out of town.
The only recommendations I would suggest are:
- please sell large bottles of water, especially by the Pool.
- I know I was there out of season, but it would have been good if the waiting staff made rounds around the pool to clear up dirty plates etc, but also to take orders for food & drink. I know we could call, but it would be good to see the staff walking around helping!

Quiet setting about 1 Mile walk into town. We had a room with our own private pool which was very nice and we used it daily. The jetted tub in our bathroom wasn’t working but it turned out it was a fuse tripped and the maintenance reset for us. We should have asked them to do this sooner. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed the music at night. Our suite was big enough for a family!

Joli hôtel en bord de rivière. Nous avions une grande chambre avec terrasse.
L’hôtel est a 5 min en tuktuk du centre où a 20 min pied. Le petit-déjeuner est bon mais toujours le même.
Le restaurant de l’hôtel est bon mais assez élevé niveau prix.
La piscine est jolie mais très froide car presque toujours à l’ombre, dommage de ne pas la chauffer.
Le chauffage serait également bienvenu dans la chambre, la nuit les températures descendent beaucoup et il y fait froid, mais pas de chauffage d’appoint ni de couverture supplémentaire. De plus le lit est un peu trop ferme.
Les jardins sont jolis mais certains endroits mériteraient un peu d’attention.
En conclusion un hôtel agréable mais des points à améliorer

I liked staying there so much I went back again.
It starts with the GM, ERIK, and his friendly attentive staff.
Great location on the river, singing birds serenade you in the morning. There’s a swimming pool, an Italian restaurant and a Thai restaurant. You can walk a mere 100 yards to do laundry.
Grab and Bolt are available or you can walk in the town in 15 minutes.
What else can I say?

Rustic accommodation in gorgeous resort overlooking the river. Lush grounds with well keep gardens. Love the outdoor swing. Natural environment being woken every morning to the sounds of birdsong. Very calming atmosphere. Breakfast overlooking the river was lovely, limited options but nicely done. Staff were amazing always helpful and accommodating. Gorgeous infinity pool and spa facilities. Italian restaurant was very good as was the room service that we had. Bike hire was an added bonus, great fun and easy to do as the streets were not busy. Mosquitos are a bit of a problem but hotel supplies nets in the rooms and also complimentary sachets of mosquito cream every day and spray rooms.

We had a very satisfactory stay at The Legend. The location is excellent being right on the river. The restaurants were excellent and the room was much different than the usual. There was a separate sitting area, a jacuzzi in the very large tub, staff were plentiful , professional and smiling.
Some advertised features were not available such at the hair salon but this can be attributed to the virus situation.

I loved the overall feel of the place, simple luxury. The food was pretty good, and I enjoyed the sweet treats for sweet dreams every night. All the staff were wonderful and very friendly. I would stay here again.
