The reception area has a warm welcoming feeling to it and the staff were extremely helpful. The amenities were clean and very well maintained, with extremely helpful staff. The breakfast, staff and dining area was comfortable , clean with very pleasant and helpful staff. We will be back.

Property was lovely but room was far too hot and winter duvet on bed in July so had to take duvet out of cover. There was no Aircon. When we arrived room wasn't ready and we had to leave luggage in an unlocked room which didn't feel very safe
Marian
If I could I would give the hotel 10 stars we had a lovely stay everything was perfect I can’t praise the staff enough for the effort they made to make our stay wonderful I really have to give a special mention to Isabella who excelled in trying to make us comfortable and happy I also would like to mention Daniel and Luke in the bar for their friendly and helpful attitude thanks to the hotel we will definitely be back very soon

Room was spacious. The bed really comfy. The breakfast was delicious
The only thing I could say that the room was far too warm which made it hard to sleep. Going forward air conditioning would be great 👍

Stayed for 1 night as we were on business, the girl at reception was lovely, she guided us to the bar as the room wasn’t ready. When the room was ready she had upgraded us to a junior suite. It was the icing on the cake. Thank you for a great stay and we will be back.

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful setting

Excellent hotel, definitely will go back and stay again. Spacious rooms, staff lovely and friendly, restaurant little pricey but worth it, a nice bar and bar menu, amenities and golf.
ONLY thing we would say, we were in room 325 which was great, lots of room and a huge bathroom. I would however rip out the shower and put one in that a person can fit in. Didn't make sense for such a tiny shower with so much room. In the scale of everything though, this was so minor
Wish we'd booked for longer

Excellent breakfast with good quality orange juice.

We had a 5 night stay at the Ballymascanlon and we had a great stay. Our room 230 was spacious and quiet, the facilities in the room were good and maybe a fridge would be the icing on the cake. In the hot weather we were provided with a fan.
Plenty of tea and coffee facilities available, with 2 bottles of water left daily. A widescreen TV in the room with plenty of channels. The bathroom came with good quality Body Wash, Shampoo and Conditioner. Good quality towels.
The rate included came with breakfast and was the nicest breakfast I’ve had in all my travels. Both hot and continental, fresh fruit and both fruit juices and smoothies.
The grounds and flowers made for a pleasant walk and included a golf course. We did not avail of the Spa or pool.
The car park though large was nearly always full and this may be down to the Golfers using the Hotel Course.
All the staff we met were friendly and most helpful. We would definetly return.

What a gem of a hotel! If you are after luxury then this has it all. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dining whether breakfast, dinner, food is superb. Beautiful location, peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend.
Sarah
Great breakfast, beautiful grounds, helpful staff and great water pressure in the shower. We enjoyed our stay and would return to play golf.
Louise
Excellent would stay again. Good service, clean and reasonably priced. Only negatives were that the jaccuzzis were not working.
I also suggest that the homemade bread that is not allowed in the toast machine is moved from next to it. I saw loads of people not seeing the sign and trying to toast it causing actual flames inside! This must be a regular occurrence as the staff were trying to pick the crumbs off the grill to stop it.

Beautiful place, relaxing n a great place to stay
Angela
Stayed here for only one night to attend a function nearby and the hotel is beautiful. Had a drink in the bar while waiting to check in which was very nice and was able to check in at 2.30pm. Room was beautiful, very comfortable and I slept really well. Nice toiletries in the bathroom as well. Would definitely like to return for a longer stay.
Dawn
A lovely comfy resort with great food and restaurant options. We loved the Golf course, BUT it is not registered so unable to enter our scores. WE like to put our scores in on a Golf vacation to remind us where we played.
It was fun talking with locals that have a Membership to enjoy the pool, hot tub, gym amenities. Very relaxing end of our tour of Ireland as stayed 2 nights and had time to walk around this beautiful property. Liked the photos we found just off the Main lobby but would be nice to see some of the history of this Estate.

Had a lovely 1 night stay here. Quiet location. Well maintained grounds. Friendly check in staff and clean pool area with steam room/ sauna/hot tub. Had a lovely meal in the bar. Food and service were excellent. Very good. Would go back. Lovely grounds. Room was very spacious and looked like it had a recent refurbishment. Very tasty breakfast although we felt the hot buffet could have been a bit warmer. Overall really enjoyed our stay. Thank you

I love this hotel and have been coming here for years. It's friendly, unpretentious and overtly local. Parking is free and plentiful.
Plus breakfast is ace and included.

We stayed at Ballymascanlon for one night and overall had a mixed experience. The standout was definitely the staff - they were brilliant throughout our stay. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, very helpful, and went out of their way to be accommodating, which made a big difference to the overall experience.
That said, there were a few frustrations. Breakfast felt quite manic, with long waits. We experienced similar delays when ordering food in the lobby bar, which took away from what should have been a more relaxed atmosphere.
Our room was quite worn and could do with some updating, and unfortunately the toilet wasn’t clean when we checked in. On the positive side, the room itself was spacious and had a great view, which we really appreciated. More generally, there was noticeable wear and tear throughout the hotel, which made parts of it feel a bit tired.
At breakfast, the extra charge for items like pancakes and salmon came as a surprise. However, there was a great selection of alternative milks, which was a nice touch. Vegan options overall were limited in the evening there was only one main available in both the lobby bar and the main restaurant, and the same lack of choice applied to desserts.
The gym is quite small and feels overcrowded even with just a handful of people using it. However, the leisure centre staff were excellent - again, very helpful and welcoming.
In summary, the staff really shine and elevate the experience but the other issues dampened it

Hotel is very clean as are the rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. Luke in the bar deserves a mention for his attentiveness and chat. Food excellent.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful, which really made the experience special.
Everything was spotless, and my room was spacious, comfortable, and well-presented. The food was excellent, and the service throughout was brilliant.
Overall, an exceptional stay—I’d happily return again.

We were delighted to get an upgrade to a room with a balcony which was lovely especially as the weather turned out beautiful. We ate in the hotel both nights, once in the restaurant and once in the bar the food was absolutely delicious on both occasions. Some parts of the hotel have got a wee bit tired looking ie bathroom door was all scuffed and marked.

The staff of this hotel are the best I've ever seen and I have travelled the world 🌎 My sister is blind and disappointed and she was treated like royalty get yourself there you will not regret it

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are spacious clean and up to date. Staff was very helpful and very friendly. The breakfast room was very spacious and clean as was the bar and restaurant. The food was fantastic.
The grounds and old building at the rear were beautiful and the trail to the Proleek Dolmen was beautiful to walk and experience.
Would love to stay again but during the summer months so we could enjoy the rose garden.

Room very clean and nice fresh decor. Giant bed.
Great big pool area but hot tub needs to be renewed. Super selection of food available in the breakfast buffet. However, I ordered the fresh porridge and it was awful! Would I stay again...absolutely!

As ever Ballymascanlon Hotel and Golf Resort was excellent with the highest standard of food and accommodation and a welcome and attention to detail from a highly professional but very friendly staff. We particularly appreciated the two very comfortable chairs in our room and the relaxing social spaces where it so good in some of them to sit by an open fire. We return again and again.
Alan
