First room we were put into (316) was quite loud with some kind of pump or fan running, probably from the leisure centre or ballroom below. Thankfully, the staff were quick to set us up in a new room (506) which was very quiet and comfortable.

The access to the pool and gym and hot tubs was lovely but the meal in the pub was pretty ordinary.

Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and would likely return.

I had a lovely stay here. The room was nice and had a stunning view of the adjacent mountain.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and check in was fast.
The restaurant had a good range of food and drink, so my evening meal was enjoyable.
The leisure facilities included with the stay were great. The outdoor jacuzzi was a particular highlight.
Breakfast was good. Whilst I personally prefer a self-serve hot counter, service was quick and the quality of ingredients was very high.
The property isn’t modern, but it is clean and charming.
You’ll need to drive to get to anywhere away from the hotel, but you shouldn’t need to go anywhere as the hotel has all you need (there’s a petrol station just next door if needed)
I’d certainly stay here again

Beautiful as always. Have stayed a few time before making way from Aberdeen to Cork. Nice stop off on way there or back. Wish had more time as a lovely spot, great spa and amenities for everyone, especially kids. Best of all the gardens. Looking fantastic as ever.

Room was smart, but didn’t have any windows aside from a small very high velux.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen this before in a hotel room, felt very claustrophobic. Room seemed to really fluctuate in temperature as the aircon kicked in and out. I’d say it was quite pricey for a windowless room. I’m surprised no other reviews seem to mention it.

Quite a strange setup having to cross the road from the main hotel to get to the room but no big deal.

Staff were otherwise very nice and the food was good. But won’t go back just for fear of getting another windowless room.

Room service staff were rude and the corridor outside my room smelt of cigarette smoke in the morning. Also, there was someone smoking pot in the car park at 7am on Sunday morning. Horrible experience. Breakfast staff were top notch tho as was the food so not all bad!

Very disappointed when we checked in to find there was no availability in the restaurant. We got room service and the food was cold. My husband is unwell with his breathing and the spa is quite far away from the hotel. Also on leaving the lift was out of order. Wouldn’t hurry to book here again.

Staff goes extra time

Everything was very nice. We booked with 2 children and they made up the room with beds for all uf us. Veey nice staff, I decided to grab a pint of Guiness before bed and missed the bar closing. The staff went ahead and took care of me anyway. Very happy. (Note: the pool closes for children part of the time, so if you're planning on your kids swimming, check ahead).

Great food, class pool, family friendly hotel

Very welcoming from the start, great room with lovely mountain views.. went to the bar for a few beverages with my children service was brillant and very clued in with my youngest girls gluten diet which was great. We then went to the pool the family loved it my wife went to the hot tub and sauna which she loved myself and my girls played in the pool which is a great size. I could keep writing on how good a time as a family we had, it was a real good relaxing time with lovely food and outstanding service

Was there with mom. Had dinner in the bar first two nights. Good food. Great service. On the last night, we had dinner in the restaurant. We both ordered the Medallions of beef. I came to the table and we both thought it was on a pile of mashed potatoes, it was two massive fillets. It was enough to feed an army, as well as being amazing. Great job guys.

On arrival at the hotel check in was very quick. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Beds very comfy. Tea/coffe making facilities and biscuits was a nice touch.
The breakfast in the morning was served rather than a buffet and it was excellent and very hot. (Help yourself to cereal/yoghurt etc) The food in the restaurant and the bar was also excellent and a good variety.
The leisure facilities are also very good, although we didn’t use them.
We will most definitely return to this hotel.

I see a lot of rave reviews.....I cannot understand why. This hotel may have been 'fab' in 1984. Now, its a rather drab, worn and shabby 'treat'. Food was awful also, but it was probably fine before it was cooked.
On the plus it had a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed.
It is also vastly overpriced even though it has 4 (provincial) stars. Todays expectations of a 4 star hotel are based on something a little more current.

The hotel is in a quiet location and although there was a wedding I never came across any noise. The staff were very pleasant both at reception and breakfast. The room was airy and bright. They also have a secure residents car park. Although I only had breakfast during my stay it was good with plenty of choice.

Overall the hotel staff and accommodation was excellent however, when I went to eat in the bar the evening of my arrival, the waiter was a bit abrupt and non commutative. Later when I returned to the bar for a nightcap, the bar staff were lovely.
At the end of a long day with a bit fundraiser ahead it would have been nice to engage with the waiter on pleasantries while taking our order.

A Good Hotel with Great Food

I like this hotel, the food is always good and the staff very accommodating, friendly and polite. The WiFi could be better but it works, but the hotel is in a rural area. It is 1 hour drive from Dublin so I use it for morning meetings in the City. Car Park for residents is very secure, ask at reception. I will continue to use this Hotel.

The property is dated and needs to be modernised to compete with the likes of Crown Plaza or even Premier Inn. Very busy when we arrived with kids running around shouting and slamming door in corridors. Room was fine but no view just roof pipes. Breakfast was fine and service was good. Staff very helpful. Parking is good, location is good. Overall ok for a one night stop over and at 65 euro incl breakfast its cheap but dont expect a modern hotel. Probably stay in the Crown Plaza in Dundalk next time.

As the room was at the front of the hotel there was a lot of traffic noise as there was a main road, so had to close the window and the room was quiet warm. Nice restaurant and bar. Food lovely and large plate of food. Car park at front of hotel was busy but there was a top car park for hotel guests only which was quite and worth using. Although we didn't use the pool and gym both looked clean and there was a lot of equipment in the gym. The garden was lovely and well kept and there was a lovely play area for children. Overall enjoyed stay.

The pictures make this hotel look like a relaxing spa getaway. It was nothing like the pictures. The pools were filled with people. Adults overly drunk with kids running around unsupervised. Lobby filled with people. Grounds full of people running around. Like multiple weddings or something. Kids breaking glass in the parking lot. Grounds across busy street. People running after cars in the street. Hours of honking horns. Hotel hot. No fan. Window could barely open. Street noise, noise of party guests all night. Spider found in the bed once we laid down to rest. I would not recommend staying here. It is not relaxing at all.

This was the second night we stayed B&B in the last 8 days at this hotel. Having used it before on our journey between Cork and the ferry back home to Scotland. We used the facility of the bar meals in the evenings and found the standard to be very good. The breakfasts were also very good and well served.. I have no hesitation in recommended this hotel and it's meals .

Good hotel for families with kids

I didn't like all these small kids being in pyjamas in the bar after 9pm. Also very small kids were present in jacuzzi. The entertainment on St Patrick Day was very short and mostly country music, which is not my favourite. Outdoor hot tub was closed on Sunday morning.

This hotel is very reasonable in price and convenient to the airport.Ian on front desk very helpful and pleasant. It's a very stylish hotel throughout with free parking. The rooms aren't huge but are comfy and classy. The restaurant/bar area is lovely and the menu is very good. Food was amazing. I'm surprised I haven't heard about this hotel before and will stay again in the future.

This hotel is slightly out of town but bed led were very comfortable and food was good enough for a business traveler. Stayed here about 10 times and my only problem was one night when my room was at the front. The road was a bit noisy. (Thought the photo was a little misleading) :-)

Was put in a room just above a function room and unfortunately there was very loud entertainment Floors of room vibrated as a result and could not sleep as a result. I complained and was offered a different room, but who wants to get back out of bed to move room at 11.30 at night?

You will also see from the attached photo that I was looking out into where they stored the rubbish bins.

Hotel is very tired and needing refurbished.
