Plenty of parking. Helpful staff. Room a bit dated but clean. Road traffic noise from Belfast Rd was a bit disappointing even with windows closed.Yeah. No atmosphere in bar. Lack of background noise made it dead and felt like we had to whisper to avoid the risk of patrons overhearing our conversation. Some low level music or even white noise would help.

We travelled with a Girls football team ages from 7-9 staff were very pleasant, check in easy and quick rooms were clean and tidy and Breakfast was great plenty of selection and enough choice for the kids. Thank you for your hospitality

Was there for a very quick nights rest driving from Portrush to Dublin. It was fine…the TV didn’t work. The heater was either stuck on or something because we were baking…but the window opened to help.

The hotel is not in the countryside (as you might assume) but on the edge of a busy town. I’d say rooms comparable to a Premier Inn but, being on the ground floor I couldn’t risk having a window open at night. Bar/Restaurant area OK but a little basic. The lady behind the bar (I don’t know her name but a mature lady) was lovely and made sure I was happy with my food and provided a great service as did the waitress and receptionist. Room had everything needed, bottles of water, tea, coffee, biscuits and good towels bit suggest more of a ‘no frills’ hotel. Plenty of parking and free which is always a plus though.

The staff are friendly but I had an issue with the shower being lukewarm to cold which was very disappointing when you stay at a hotel. I didn’t have a shower because the water was not warm enough. The food is good. On my previous stay the shower was just fine but at this time wasn’t and they didn’t offer to change rooms as they didn’t rectify the problem.

We stayed here overnight & got some nice recommendations for dining by the hotel staff. Bar unfortunately closes at 11pm -this is way a little too early for hotel guests. We got back at 10.50pm & bar lights were off but staff did serve us. Place lacked athmosphere. Room was fine - comfy bed & decent shower. Breakfast as very good -freshly cooked.

Staff are excellent. Convenient car/ taxi ride to Newry. Break fast is good. The property needs invstment. I was in room 104. Shower cubicle needs maintenance and, probably,
resiting a few things, such as toilet holder etc. The lighting in the shower in the toilet is very poor.

Lovely hotel, just outside newry centre. Staff were fantastic, rooms comfortable and spotless. We ate dinner in the bar and had breakfast the following morning, the choices on each menu were many, we'd go back for the food alone.

I spent 2 nights and 3 days and it was a pleasant experience. All the staff members rightfrom reception were very warm and welcoming. I ll specially like to appreciate Roselyn and her male colleague at breakfast time, they were very warm, kindly and friendly. Key problem

The only negative comment I have is that the room key and the room number had not been aligned so that another booking was able to use their key to open the door while I was in the room. Reception sorted it out but when the separate bookings were corrected, I couldn't use the key. Again, Reception sorted it out very quickly.

The Mourne Country is a nice hotel but in a poor position for Newry town, had to get taxis everywhere. The room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a terrific shower. Staff were lovely. However, the food was way below par! We had ceasar salads that were greasy and the worst apple crumble I've ever tasted (sickly sweet with flavourless apple. Breakfast was ok to be fair. Price was reasonable too.

we first called up to see if they had any availability and we were told they were fully booked.
it was late in the evening so the receptionist obviously didnt want the hassle of booking anyone in,
so we came on this site and was able to-be booked in. when we arrived there seem to be alot of available rooms.
we were checked in and whilst coming with our things she called us and changed rooms to which there was no volume on the tv and after a long day travelling we wanted to relax and watch tv, it was too late to ask to move rooms so we didnt bother.
very disappointed withit being such a lovely hotel but i will definitely not stay again

Had a disabled room which was excellent but little things were wrong- bathroom no where to put any toiletries or even a toothbrush- no mirror over the washand basin. Noise level was bad could hear everyone overhead, firedoors outside room were noisy and everyone that came through the door banged. Only one waste bin in bathroom none in the room.

They also.tried to charge me double for a meal and a pint I had but that could have been a genuine mistake.

We found the hotel to be clean & quiet,room was clean but bed felt like a small double,it felt like the rooms & corridors areas had been refurbished recently. We had dinner in the hotel one of the evening, found the food to be generous portions but not very good quality. Steak was huge but not very tasty & the beef burger bun wasn't fresh. Hotel was understaffed the night we stayed, the same girl that checked us in also served in the bar & the following morning she was doing both front desk & the breakfast serving. Breakfast was tasty,again generous portion & plenty of tea & coffee. Overall it was a pleasant stay & we would return.
