There was only one person on staff. The room was stocked with amenities as a basics hotel room would be stocked. I assigned a room key so anytime I had to leave the room, the front desk attendant had to escort me to my paid for room to allow me access. Horrible

Bed cover had holes in it room was freezing took all night to warm up I got in the room 2:30am left at 10:30 room was still cold wasn’t completely warm yet still no soap for the shower and hallways smelled like cigarettes all old tv channels on the tv nothing updated or at least close everything was from the 1980s and 1990s

I stayed here for four nights in January. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. For 3 out of the 4 nights, there was no hot water in the shower.
In the middle of an NYC winter, taking cold/lukewarm showers is unacceptable. Despite notifying the front desk, the issue was not resolved in a timely manner. While the location was good (we were in Long Island City right near Queens), staff did not offer any support beyond telling us to keep running water (which we did every night). Especially in the winter, a proper functioning shower (with at least warm water is a basic requirement.
I expected much better for the price and for this level of hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel to others traveling during winter months.

I enjoyed my stay here! The staff was friendly and held our bags free of charge while we explored the city prior to our check in. Great location, only a few minutes away from the subway & a short train ride into Manhattan. We felt very safe walking around. I’d definitely stay again!

Area feels very unsafe to walk through to get to and from the hotel. Our room was dirty when we first got there. Bed sheets had big stains, bath tub was very dirty, we saw a big cockroach in the bathroom. We went down to the cafeteria to check out the vending machines but there were no snacks at all. I Don’t recommend.

The beds are super hard and have plastic matress covers. It was like sleeping in plywood covered with a tarp. The pillows were maybe 2 inches thick and offered zero support. I went to the desk to ask for more pillows the desk attendant said that house keeping had left and he had no access. He handed me two towels and told me to usenthose as pillows? The hotel is pretty well maintained and staff are friendly enough. They really have to do something aboyt the bed and pillow situation.

The rooms are tiny, Housekeeping was not the best, room didn’t look or smell clean, staff is not friendly. To top it off our car and two others got broken into while we were sleeping. Someone came to the hotel when they noticed it at 7am and told the hotel staff to let us know and they did not. I could've avoided some other the snow that was inside my car. Dealt with it the entire morning, when I went to ask for a late check out since I have been dealing with this situation they said they will charge me extra. So I will never recommend or stay here again.

Was originally sceptical about this hotel given some of the reviews, however was impressed by the price given the easy and quick transport to manhattan so booked it - and i would absolutely book this hotel again. I came with my boyfriend for 4 nights on a christmas trip to New York and this hotel was the perfect base for us. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the subway station and 1 stop on the M or F train to Roosevelt island and just 10 minutes to Times Square - even less to Central Park, 5th ave, etc. There are reviews mentioning the area being unsafe, and whilst I can’t say it was necessarily a ‘nice area’ - there was a few homeless people, interesting characters and a strong smell of weed almost everywhere, neither me or my boyfriend felt uncomfortable or unsafe at all. There is also quite a few options for food nearby. All the staff we spoke to were kind and helpful and the room was nice, clean, and had a surprisingly great view. Something I really appreciated was the number of power outlets in the room, there was even a usb-c port on the bedside table ! Small things to note : none of these bothered us but the mattress had a plastic covering on it which did make noise and the sheet was very thin (however there was ac and heating which worked very well so wasn’t cold) also they do charge $20 to store baggage after checking out. Overall, very good hotel for the price, location and quality.

It seems like this property is still under renovation. The controller for the tv did not work. The lock for the door did not work. The floor in the bathroom was quite cold and did not warm up even after the heat was on. The downstairs vending machines were out of order. For the price I guess you get somewhat acceptable accommodations.

Staff at the front desk kept charging or trying to charge guests cash only fees for things like deposits that they should be able to put on credit cards and charged cash only fees to hold luggage upon arrival or check out. I have traveled nationally and internationally for decades and have always been able to pay refundable deposits on a credit card and have never been charged a cash only fee for a deposit or to hold my bags for the day before or after check in. The women in front of me did not have cash or an ATM card or a PIN for their credit card. The staff finally let it go which was weird. The guests in front of me were Black and I am read as white by most people so I thought it could have been a scam or that the staff who I read as Latinx could have been racist because they did not ask me for a cash deposit. The two women in front of me offered a credit card for the deposit multiple times but staff refused. However, as I was checking out, there was a couple I read as white checking out who asked to have their bags stored for the day and the staff charged them $35 CASH ONLY. I have never been charged by a hotel to hold my bags before or after checkout that I can recall and I am always given a retrieval tag. The couple asked for a receipt or a retrieval tag after paying them in cash. They staff said they didn’t give either and to just ask for the bags when they returned. IF this is the policy of the hotel, it is ridiculous. If it is not, it is fraud. I won’t stay again.

I had to leave after the first night (had booked 4 nights) bc it was a really run down room not like the photos. The door key wouldn’t work so i had to continuously go down to the lobby from the 8th floor, eventually needing a master key to get me into the room, and the elevator didn’t work half the time. They have since refused to refund me the 3 nights I didn’t stay there even though it was a nightmare to stay seeing as I couldn’t freely access my room.

I still feel scammed. I specifically requested a room with two queen-size beds, and that's what I thought I paid for before entering the room, as they had charged my card in full before giving me a key pass. Once I entered the room, I discovered I had paid for full-size beds instead.
If you have any complaints after you've paid they do not care they will not assist you. They claim management will be in contact with you. But never, try to assist you whatsoever.

I think this hotel is genuinely very good value for money, its super close to a station that takes you directly into central. The area isn't the best, but I found it to be perfectly safe (maybe because I'm from West London).

The staff were really nice. The air con and heater worked well. Ashraf from the morning shift was really nice and helpful, he was super accommodating and tried his best to help.
