This hotel is close to the City Centre and has around 5 parking spaces for clients. The staff were very kind and helpful. The property is very old and each room is named after the Cathedral bishops. The room was light and airy with windows that open. We were at the back and there is a public path which was a bit noisy. The rooms are fine but could do with some updating. The breakfast was made to order and hot which cannot be said for more modern hotels in the City.

Near to the station, good spacious room. Quite a lively pub and others nearby with late opening, so not the place for people wanting peace and quiet and an early night, but good value and wry friendly.

A couple bits of the room cleaning were unfortunately missed, and the breakfast left a lot to be desired. The listing mentions that the venue will be playing loud music, but I would’ve expected a bit more effort in soundproofing the rooms. I would not recommend this venue to anyone who doesn’t feel like sleeping one single-glazed window away from unrestrained club bangers until 3am and all the drunken revelries you would expect.

Despite all this, was a nice room, good shower and toiletries, comfy bed, and very friendly staff!

it's a climb of 24 wide and solid steps to the floor with the rooms. This led to a well lit and wide hallway. The room was bigger than I thought, with a huge window and plenty of light. Very tidy and clean. They even provide earplugs as the ground floor is a nightclub. I didn't need them.

The breakfast had a huge selection from a several choices of cooked breakfast, plus cereal, baked goods, yogurt, juices.

The one drawback for me is there is no one on site overnight. However, guests were provide with an emergency number that is answered during the night, and that person is apparently very nearby.

Absolute amazing place to stay and the staff were so so friendly, always smiling, in a good mood and happy to help. The breakfast selection was brilliant from cereal to croissants to eggs benedict royale. Room was extremely clean on 1st inspection and was continued throughout the stay by the maids. Bar was awesome too. Dedicated parking too which was very helpful and not like other properties in area. We will definitely be staying here again 100%

The booking was easy and staff moved there car so we could park ok . The room was clean and lots of tea coffee milk . The bar was good and lively. The breakfast was cooked well and plenty of it . Overall this is a good plave to stay

Parking is a bit tricky until you know ,rooms clean a bit noisy from the street that gives you ear plugs but not sure how well they will work location is very good, breakfast is good ,we will probably be going back another week.

Clean big room, (number 4) with well stocked tea/coffee makings. Lots of warnings of the venue playing loud music till late but it didn’t bother me Ona Tuesday night in February. Friendly staff and tasty full English in the morning.

Arrived to find that the venue had a nightclub that was open until 3am with very loud music directly below my room.
The staff were non apologetic about this.
I would not have booked if this was advised prior to the booking being taken
A pair of inadequate ear plugs were in the room as a token to the problem.

As mentioned in the hotel details, there is live music until about 3.30. We didn’t sleep much and didn’t stay for breakfast. The room itself was nice, as was the bedding. I didn’t like downstairs.

This accommodation is in a great location, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was well equipped. Our only criticism was the noise, as be aware the area below is used for live bands and DJs and the music didn't stop until 3.00am - noting ear plugs were provided 😂

The noise from the pub downstairs was awful and although we had a room near the rear it was still very loud. The fact that there was a packet of earplugs on the bedside unit should have warned me. The noise was replaced at 1.00-1.30am by shouting and screeming from the street, followed by loud guests coming into the pub/hotel. Breakfast was included but we were so desperate to leave in the morning and put a rubbish night behind us that we left straight away without it.

The staff was very helpful in getting my suitcase up and down the long, steep flight of stairs. I was there early in the week when no music shows were on so noise was no issue. The breakfast was very good. The old fashioned, high-walled bathtub required some practice.

My sister and I stayed at The Vestry for just one night whilst we visited our Dad. The venue is undergoing major refurbishment at the moment, that was fully communicated to us and we were offered the option of cancellation, but that was not an option for us. I don’t really want to comment on anything else about our stay other than to advise the location is first rate and to say that the manager, Sam, is an exceptional young man who is kind, professional and just brilliant, and I hope the venue fully appreciates him!

Very good location and convenient parking. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast and comfortable room. A pity that there is no lift to go to the rooms. A rail both sides of the staircase would help elderly customers like us manage the steep stairs better.

So central and great service. Ear plugs provided just in case of music from downstairs but it was a quiet night!

Ok but choose your day wisely

A very large comfortable bed with a nice thick duvet. The duvet was needed as the room has no heating other than a small oil radiator that plugs in. NB: it was not plugged in when I got to the room

Breakfast was good and the service good as well

I couldn’t help but notice earplugs by the side of the bed and was informed by a local that on a Thursday it’s student nice, the venue is open till 2pm and is very noisy. Glad my stay was not a Thursday
