Ski slopes were very close, Approach Hotel.is right near one of the main chairlifts which was very convenient.
What was not convenient was the wxcessive noise every night in the corridors and in the stairwell of the hotel, and the techno rave music coming from the T-Bar pub next door.The thumping bass continued till 2am in the morning. Staff were hard to find to voice my concerns about this, and the noise continued every night into the early hours which ruined what was otherwise a great trip.

Hotel was in poor condition- very old, not clean, very thin towels in the bathrooms, all that was provided in the bathroom was a bar of soap. Walls are paper thin- could hear every noise throughout the hotel (they did have ear plugs in the room). Only good thing was the location.

The rooms are nicely renovated and very comfortable, the hallways need a refresh but that didn’t bother us too much as we didn’t spend a lot of time there. Our family really enjoyed the pool area, the water slides, the beautiful surroundings and all the fun activities the area has to offer, we’re hoping to go back again next year, it was so fun, definitely a highlight of our summer! The hotel staff was wonderful and kind, especially when my son ended up breaking his arm while on a bike ride in the area and had to go to the hospital in Invermere for x-rays and to get a cast the morning when we were supposed to check out. The hotel staff understood our situation and was very graceful in allowing us to check out later than the usual time given that we had to go to urgent care that morning. Thank you for being so accommodating and understanding!

I had to leave early because I had food poisoning. I asked for a refund, and they refused to refund me my one night. The section I was staying in didn’t have an elevator, so I had to carry my suitcase up multiple flights of stairs when I wasn’t feeling good. The room didn’t have any air conditioning, which intensified my nausea. I had no choice, but to leave and go home. The distance from the building, and the parking lot was quite a bit. I didn’t feel safe, carrying my luggage at night and in the early morning. I would never suggest this hotel to anyone.

Location is excellent, bike storage is great, just bring your lock. The room had a fan but was not enough to circulate air in the room, so was a bit too hot. The mattress are not confortable, you will sink into a hole. Also, it is a better deal booking directly with Pano if you plan to use the attraction there to get discounts! They will not offer discount if you booked with 3rd party like Hotels.com

Be Careful!

I was given a room beside the ice machine, beside the elevator and overtop of the room that heated and cooled the entire building. My room was shaking and rumbling none stop and it was insanely warm in the room. The AC control was deactivated and all I had was a small fan.

On night two my key card stopped working so they called for a new card. I waited 15 minutes for the card and when they brought it they found out that the battery for my door was dead. I wanted another 20 minutes, sitting on the floor in front of my room the people walking by me smirking and laughing. I finally got in my room but had to wait for maintenance to take the door apart, replace the battery and put it back.

The restaurants on site were insanely expensive but the food was horrible. It’s not that it was served cold or the service was bad. The food itself was the cheapest frozen food anyone could buy, and then they cooked that and served it. Nothing was made from scratch.

Fantastic Stay in a Fantastic Area

This was our second stay at Panorama Mountain Resort but our first stay at The Approach Hotel. We stayed for 3 nights in July and used the location as a pit stop for trips out to other areas such as Golden and Lussier Hot Springs.
We thoroughly enjoyed the heated pool and hot tubs, but really wished they would allow access later than 10:00 pm as the sun was just going down and we would have loved to continue relaxing in the peaceful scenery under the stars.
The Approach is a self-serve type stay and we did not mind this in the least. More towels or other requests were easily placed with the main check in. The only snag we hit was calling T-Bar & Grill to order takeout - the phone was never answered so we had to walk over, order and then wait for food. Still not a big deal and the food was very good!
The rooms were very nicely refinished, modern and clean and we appreciated that the toiletries in the shower were in locked dispensers instead of bottles that could possibly be tampered with.
Such a great stay in an incredibly beautiful area - we will be back soon!

Loved the hot pool annd mountain surroundings Room is newly renovated and in a good state. Only downside is lack of daily room cleaning and air conditioning. When it’s 34 degrees outside it’s pretty warm inside and takes forever to cool down. If they even added portable a/c would probably improve the hotel immensely.

Rooms were way to hot, had no soup to wash you hands after using The facilities, Asked for soap to be delivered to the room, which never came.
Room condition looked very beat up, even though it said on the website it had been renovated.
Room was never serviced in our stay.
Food out of the coffee shop below. It was cold when we ordered hot breakfast sandwiches.
Food at the pub/TBar Was not great was not great.
Food at the golf course though way better would recommend eating there.
Attractions were good suggestion there would be offered two rides on the coaster instead of one.
The swimming pool facility was great.

Could hear doors slamming. Not sound proof at all. Didn’t sleep well because of that but also we were excited to have lower level with screen door to easily access the new coaster but upon arrival learned it wasn’t ready (lots of rain caused delays which is understandable just disappointing since we drove 22 hours round trip for that reason) most of the time we had people camped out right out front out door they even set up a table with their food. So when coming and going we had to step through the people sitting right out our door. Seemed to be the rest spot for the mountain bikers. Surprised the restaurant that was close closed its kitchen by 9. No fridge it or microwave in the room. We are a family that stays up late so not having a kitchenette and no access to food or drink after 9 wasn’t ideal for us. The pool was great! Although for a resort it would be nice if they had food/drinks available at or near the pool along with some music.

It was great having a room facing the mountain and a private hot tub away from the main area. Food was excellent at the restaurants and we enjoyed walking everywhere and taking the lift up to trails. Note: rooms on 5th floor require walking up two flights of stairs. Also bring a hair dryer and kettle if you want those amenities.

This is definitely not a 5-star property but if interest is on-hill accommodation at Panorama it fits well. The rooms are rather spartan but are large and clean. The Fireside Cafe win the hotel is a good option for breakfast. It would be good if the staff were better trained and provided with information. I could not locate my room as it was in a second building. None of the staff seemed to know this and I had to return to the central check-in to get details. I do not understand why the hotel makes check-out difficult. One has to return to the resort's central office via a lift and walk to check-out rather than just leaving keys in the room or visiting the resort's information desk beside the horel

Hotel is dated. Elevators only go to certain floors in one wing. No elevators in other wing which is 5 stories. No mini fridge, no microwave. Check in time is 5pm two of our rooms weren’t ready until after 5pm. I would not recommend.

The Approch is right off the hill, and this room seems like a deal…. Until it’s 2am and you can sleep from the T-Bar rave going on, and the hords of lifting tracking past your room screaming and yelling. Wouldn’t recommend if you want to sleep through the night.

Overall decent stay, and i would recommend. Keep in mind that it is an extremely basic stay marketed as a luxurious resort. The room lacked allot of really basic amenities (minimal furniture, no mini fridge, no housekeeping, no air conditioning, etc). I also wish they had disclosed that the pool was closed prior to our booking.

We were there for a family reunion and had a good time. Found the wine was horribly overpriced. I understand they need to make a profit but to sell wine worth 20.00 in the store for 85.00 is a little over the top . The dinner food and breakfast were good. Not all the pools were open.

Restore staying experience

Check-in time was 5 p.m., and I got the room by 7.30 p.m. after calling reception 6 times because the room was not ready due to a shortage of housekeeping staff, and the front desk didn't have an ETA for the room.

On the other hand, they also provided a coupon for two pizzas and non-alcoholic drinks for the competition.

Room has insufficient light, no refrigerator and microwave.

Around 8.10 a.m., the fire alarm went off, and we discovered some smoke near the next rooms. No one at the front desk informed us of this, despite the fact that the alarm had been lined for 10 minutes before we left the room.

We were all waiting outside without any notification. We left the property because no one from the resort could assist us.

My wife and I are well travelled, have a lot of experience sleeping from 1 star to 5 star .
The good: super close to the ski chairs and main ticket office.
The not so good: we had only one small night stand light by the bed for the whole room, good for romantic evening but not enough when you're looking for your things in the backpack.
The parking lot has huge watery holes, we felt like driving in an all terrain track.
Minus for Expedia: we got no message for the main check-in by the bridge, so we first drove to our inn then a good samaritan told us to go back to the bridge where the reception is.

Customer service was really slow for TV that wasn't working upon arrival and plugged toilet. More staff and better service needed. It is not OK to use being understaffed as the reason for lack of response. We waited 15 hours for the TV issues to be rectified and 9 hours for a plunger to arrive. Window was also broken and was open the whole time we were there (good thing it was nice out and the room was not cold as a result). Having said that, you get what you pay for and overall we really enjoyed our experience on the hill. I am sure that with better service, my review would have been much better. Would stay again.

We found the room very convenient to the lift, restaurants and hot tub/pool. Apparently these rooms are about to be renovated. They need many more hooks for skiers to hang items. Our room was very hot and maintenance tried to fix it but the thermostat needs replacing which will be done during renovations. Location was great.

This was our first time at this hotel… we booked it for the convenience of the mountain, unfortunately the hotel was not what we expected. The hotel is old and has not been upgraded in years (old mattresses, broken tiles in bathroom, smelly carpets) the rooms were dirty ( dust, dead bugs, dirty walls), we even found socks and candy left in the rooms.
We may return to the mountain but we will never stay in this old dirty hotel again.
