We came for my husband’s birthday with our one year old son. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were brilliant. My son has wheat allergies and the chef serving breakfast noticed me pick up a GF cereal for him, and then offered other GF items including bread and sausages. The next morning when we came down for breakfast, as soon as she saw us she went and made him some more sausages! It was the nicest hotel breakfast we have had in ages. My husband who doesn’t usually eat or enjoy breakfast particularly loved it. The hotel and rooms were lovely, and the restaurant attached to hotel served delicious food and also catered to his milk and wheat allergies! The beds in the rooms were also super comfortable. We would usually have a different go to hotel in Letterkenny, but this is definitely our new hotel now!

Room was very tired looking, bits of trim had fallen off, a ceiling panel looked as if it could fall, missing remote control in bedroom and TV could not be used and then very noisey plumbing , was woken by rattling pipes at 5.30am when mentioned it at check out I was informed that maintenance would be asked to check look into it, I would not recommend a say here

Mcgettigans is a lovely Hotel in the Centre of Letterkenny.The hotel is very clean,the staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable and clean.The breakfast here is great .We will definately come back here . I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room was not ready we went away came back in an hour and it was still not ready they wanted us to wait longer for the room. also the dinning area for breakfast does not look great. Very old fashioned rough around the edges and needs to be modernized. the breakfast buffet looked like something from the 70's

Our hotel room was gorgeous, big comfy bed, lovely sofa in the room. Very spacious and clean. Shower was amazing. Staff were lovely. Left our do not disturb sign on door and the housekeeping still left us clean towels and toilet roll etc. car parking on first day was very busy, had to park on nearby street but was able to get one early the next day - most likely due to summer sessions on in town.
Staff were very helpful. Would definitely stay in this hotel again, great location!

We enjoyed our 2 nights. The elevator situation added a bit of stress at times especially for elderly clientele. Unfortunately, the breakfast dining (vouchers, etc.) was not explained to us at check-in which created some uneasiness when we went to eat breakfast. Lastly, we sat late to dinner in the Warehouse restaurant area. It seemed the 3 ladies who took turns serving us were more eager to get out on time. We were told we needed to pay our bill after waiting quite some time for someone to even check on us. Lovely and comfortable rooms. The tub/shower were a little unsafe for older folks having to step up into the tub and not having any treads on the tub surface. Very slick. Thank you to housekeeping for checking on us. A nice surprise.

Close to local bus station 5 minute walk. Bed and pillows were the most comfortable, in fact Im going to contact the hotel and ask where i can buy the pillows. Free wifi and the restaurant food was fab.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff. Check in was 3 p.m but our room was available from 1. Spacious room, really clean and comfortable with the added bonus of air con which was brilliant with the weather being so hot. Would highly recommend staying here, right in town so you can walk just about anywhere

Nice hotel.

Hotel itself had just been refurbished so everything was pretty new. One of our main problems was we didn’t have WiFi the 3 days we stayed. They had a sign stating they were having problems with it. This didn’t help my wife and I as we’re both self employed and rely heavily on WiFi when we’re away. The hotel itself didn’t have much of an atmosphere at nights even though they did have entertainment on the 3 nights we were there.

Breakfast was poor. We were met by a teenager chewing gum. Food was slopped out by the chef. Ie not cooked to order and had to queue up to get food. Food quality was only OK. Awoken during the night (3 times) by drunk guests outside our door - hotel staff should have known this was going on and should have sorted it out.

As a sales representative I travel the 32 counties ,value for money is important but the basices of Wifi and parking are also as important.
On arrival there were signes around the hotel offering apologies for the lack of wifi service. This was not mentioned during the booking and was not reflected in the room price.

I stayed 3 nights and the room was cleaned each day, to a good standard but did not have the shampoo bottle replaced.

Good Location

A friendly hotel in a good central location in Letterkenny. The adjoining restaurant called Warehouse, served excellent food and had a great atmosphere. Our room was not so good and smelt of smoke and we probably should have asked to be moved.

All was fine until on entry to the hotel after dinner and a few drinks in a different establishment we were waiting at the lift to get to our room when a very aggresive employee came and and demanded we go back down to reception,I asked what the problem was and he became more aggresive and threatened to kick us out of the hotel so we went downstairs where he told us there had been a noise complaint & accused us of knocking on doors, I couldnt believe my ears we literally just walked into hotel soaking wet as we couldnt get a taxi and we were accussed of this,We told him it couldnt possibly be us he told us to go back to our room with not so much as an apology, I told the lady at reception upon check out and she couldnt belive it and said she would look into it for us.
Amazing hotel and great location but this definitely put a dampener on things for us

Quick stop along the Wild Atlantic Way

Excellent location right in the centre of town with plenty of parking both outside the hotel at the back and in the underground carpark which was very useful. Quick and easy check in. Room was very clean and spacious.

Noise was an issue. Noise from the corridor at night, from the adjacent rooms and most of all from demolition/building works which started early and went on loudly through the day. No mention was made of this when booking or at check-in. Hotel location, comfortable bed, black-out curtains and general condition of the room were good points. Small tv in an odd position was a minor downpoint.

The room was spacious and large enough. Good location, it was in the middle of the main street.

However, the air conditioning in our room did not work so we were roasting through the night. The towels were full of dust and the bathroom was also very dusty. It felt like the room wasnt cleaned for a long time.

It was EXTREMELY noisy at 6-7am in the morning when the bin man was taking their rubbish and there were motorbike gangs outside so it just sounded like thunder. Then after that there was delivery of crates and all we could hear was staff screaming at each other.

Lovely hotel and lovely staff. One problem, they need more staff. The restaurant manager was run of his feet, to the point he was taking room service. We had booked dinner for 6.30pm. With a 1.45hr stay. No one came to our table until 7pm we had to then call someone for our drink order at 7.05pm. At 7.40pm still no food and we had children with us. I'm putting the delay down to shortage of staff. They are all trying their best and mistakes are being made. The staff need recognition for there hard work. Other than that we had a lovely stay. Nice hotel and very central. Would stay again 😊

Quietest hotel room

Definitely the quietest hotel room. There must be great sound proofing. We never heard one door close or anyone talking in the hall, this is despite the fact that there was a wedding reception in the hotel. The rooms are refurbished in a really lovely way. The only small issue is that the tiles on the floor in the bathroom are ice cold on your feet, brushing my teeth out using the toilet had to be done with socks on. Not an option coming out of the shower.
Finally the service in the warehouse bar/restaurant was very good, exceptionally friendly.
If we return I would request a room with more than a view of the car park wall.

The property is located in the centre of Letterkenny and is walking distance to shops and Bars. The hotel has a bar attached which serves excellent food and is lively in the evening. The hotel lobby and exterior is nice and modern however rooms could do with being refurbished, the furniture is marked and bathroom outdated. Bath did not seem clean.

Location was good and the Warehouse food was perfect,rooms are dated and would need to be renovated.We were in room 218 and would not liked to have been any taller than 5 foot 4 as the toilet position faces the wall and the knees would be squashed.Found getting around the hotel a bit awkward also with all the different levels and the lifts being so bad but signs out back says they are renovating at the moment so maybe they will address some of the issues mentioned by there customers.

Wanted to stay in Letterkenny another night but chose to stay in the clanree as it was the same price as here but a lot cleaner and a lot more comfortable and value for money so we won’t be staying here again but will definitely stay in the clanree in the future.
