We loved our stay at Mount Errigal Hotel. The hotel was clean, our room was spacious, and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of parking available, and the electric vehicle charging stations worked perfectly, which was a great bonus. The travel cot was in good condition, the mattress and sheets on it were lovely and clean.

My only criticism relates to the food options for guests with food allergies. The receptionist was very helpful and provided us with an allergen menu but there were limited safe foods. As a result, we weren’t able to eat in the hotel restaurant during our stay. Wasn't a huge deal as we were able to travel to the local Tesco and bought GF cereals and milk, then ate in Letterkenny for dinner.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and plan to return.

The hotel is fine if you get one of the renovated rooms. We were first put in a room with threadbare carpet, dirty upholstered furniture and facing a road with non stop traffic.
Once we moved to an inside room that was fully renovated we enjoyed our stay very much.

Have stayed multiple times over the past 2 years never had any issues getting glasses with ice for the room was told no even tho I had stated I was staying. Went to reception to be told to go into the cafe boulevard to get it mentioned to the lady at reception that I had spoken to them and wouldn't give me any to be told she cant leave reception and that nothing else could be done. Had to also go and ask for a bath plug as there wasn't one attached or in any of the drawers within the room.
Really disappointing experience.

The rooms are clean and tidy, and serviced daily. In the rooms you will find USB chargers and USC charges next to the bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a TV, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and a large desk. The bathroom that we had, had a bath with a shower attachment which had good water pressure. The hotel itself is lovely.
The only downside of our stay, was that there was a large group of children staying with their parents (however, I didn’t see many parents, I just saw streams of children ages 8 to 15) and they ran riot in the hotel knocking on doors and running away, They rode in the lift up and down, and being loud and obnoxious like I mentioned I see many parents I saw just lots of children. What really annoyed me was that when we were checking out and taking our cases down, some kids got in the lift and disappeared with it. We stood there for about 10 mins, in the end I had to drag one of my cases down the stairs on my own. Leave it at the bottom the stairs and come up as I came up to grab the other case. The boys appeared in the lift. I was so angry I had to drag my other case down the stairs too.
I mentioned this to the reception staff and they said to me were their guests of the hotel too. I was not happy with the reply I got.

Rooms were absolutely terrible and nothing like the pictures online. Staff they had (they were grossly understaffed) were in many instances rude and uninterested in being there. No room service, no ability to charge food to rooms, nowhere near enough parking ….the list is long. My booking was just one of a much wider booking. Essentially there were 100 kids and 150 parents there for the weekend. We also booked the function room on the Sunday for a sit down meal (250 people). Bar closed at 11:30, residents bar was only opened upon request. In short I’ll never return to this place and the vast majority of my colleagues and friends that joined us feel just the same.

Very friendly staff , nice lobby and bar , very well designed out room regards mirrors , desk , very comfortable beds with large windows with one window that opens a small bit . Bathroom was very good too with an amazing shower . Very good coffee making facilities and tea in the room . No fridge in the room though and you are no longer allowed ice from the bar . Great location to the town with a Lidl just around the corner . Didn't eat in the hotel as it was only one night and we had a busy schedule .

The room was nice apart from the bathroom which was for a disabled person washing my face and teeth were virtually impossible as i am 5foot 9 told reception and they said the only thing they could do was to down grade the room 😡. Then i ordered breakfast in bef for 9 which did not come had to phone about it they then brought it at 10 an hour late cold and horrible. Then on checkout they tried to charge for 2 breakfasts when I only ordered 1 terrible service would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is very outdated the staff are slow to serve and clean tables as i had to ask them to clean mine.

The hotel and room were very nice. Lots of hot water. Wedding on premise-fire door banging super loud all night. Seems like they could be on soft close or something. Phone did not work, so I had to get fully dressed and go to the front desk to get wifi help. Way way too many light switches all through the room! 5 min of flipping switches to get a reading light. TV did not work at all.

Shower in room would not produce hot water, staff attempted to fix, left shower tray dirty from their shoes when they left.
Moved room - second room not quiet with noise from plant nearby.
Moved again, now in room 3 - shower temperature ok for my partner, only lukewarm when I showered (and nowhere near 38degreC max temp as mixer indicates).
At breakfast time I wished to bring breakfast to my room, asked several staff and all said this was fine, when I asked another staff member for a tray they refused saying there was a tray service, making me make saver trips with what I could carry each time.

Food was ok, not a great selection, asked for a plain ham toasted sandwich, it had to be returned twice before they got it right. Breakfast plates were cold, but aleast the food was warm! As long as you didnt look to carefully all appearances are grand, but they are having a refurbishment at the momment so can be quite noisy during the day. Bedding needs updating and tidied menu also nedds to take into account that not all people like sauces etc

However they need to look into how the door locks work as guests have to bang the doors to get them to close. When doors are being banged up to 3am this is very frustrating for guests trying to sleep. Also parking can be difficult even with limited spaces in the car park across the road.

Inside of the hotel is a little dated in places but my room was clean, very spacious and modern. The hotel is slightly noisy sometimes, I could hear the person in the room above me moving around in the morning but that is expected in an older building.

The hotel staff were lovely, free parking is ample at the site and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

So the staff were friendly but very inexperienced. I are on site both nights. Ordered a bottle of wine first night and it was slammed in front of me with a there you go. Not even opened.
Second night was worse when I ordered shepards pie and it came out burnt. No management at all around to complain so scoped it off and ate . Then asked for desert menu and a beer 20 mins later she looked at me brought over beer lobbed it on table and left menu. No sorry I forgot.Upon leaving next day I went to complain as finally I saw a manager but there was a queue.
Very very disappointed in this I have to say but hopefully management will read this and not leave their team exposed like this again

Stayed 2 nights. Guy at check in couldn’t work out how to process an American Express card, sent me to my room and told me we would sort it the next day.

Then when I went to leave early the next morning to go to work the same guy physically grabbed me at the door and hauled me back stating we had to sort payment now in an extremely aggressive manner.

I travel to 3-4 different hotels every week for work and have never been manhandled by a hotel staff member over something that could be sorted easily at any point during my stay.

Avoid this place at all costs.

Avoid this hotel! I wasn't going to leave a review about the terrible noise of drunks outside and throughout the hotel to all hours of the night (got no sleep at all). But today i have no choice to leave a review to warn others as the owner of this hotel has verbally attacked and belittled me infront of 3 small children. He banged on our door after we came up from swimming and proceeded to shout in my face about spray foam soap that the girls left in the shower. They take this soap swimming all the time as they wash themselves with it and have lots of fun at the same time (it literally washes away- its soap). I tried to explain to him that it was just soap and it washes away but he started to shout at and insult me infront of the kids saying \"i need to discipline them and that i was a disgrace\". I've never felt so annoyed and upset after a hotel stay- we were there for my daughters 9th birthday, the owner knew this as he was sitting behind our table last night when we did the cake in the restaurant. It was a big treat for my daughter and neices to stay at Mount Errigal but they were left so upset and scared by how the owner shouted at me infront of them, they were that nervous leaving our room to check out they wanted to run out to the car incase they saw him again. I did see him again and started to tell him how unprofessional and inappropriate his approach was to which he replied \"don't you try to take the moral high ground\". No wonder the place has so many bad reviews.
