Hotel claims to be 4 Star rating and even their prices are such. I would probably rate it closer to a 3. The breakfast included was basic and while they stated that service starts at 7am, half the food only shows up at 7:45am including coffee.
Toilet was small although i had the upgraded deluxe room. There was also a sound tick that kept going off throughout my 1 night stay. Lastly, for that price of Usd 300 i think its highly overpriced and overrated. Only positive note was the front desk staff and the limo transport to the airport.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, and I found the lobby both spacious and comfortable. However, the hotel uses a very strong air freshener with a scent that I found quite bothersome. While our standard room (606) was small, it remained cozy. That said, the bathroom was very cramped, and some of the fixtures did not work properly. The breakfast was adequate, but quality could be better.

All staff were courteous and the restaurant was priced well with good food. The room however was not what we expected based on the information provided on Expedia. It was extremely small with a tiny bathroom and didn’t have a have a balcony or sensible window for that matter. For the price it was not acceptable.

Old hotel, rooms and bathroom smells terrible, unkept hotel. This is NOT a 4* hotel. The room is tiny, and smells very bad like the sewage water runs through the bathroom. Very very unpleasant. The toilet bowl is stained, very worn out, and certainly needs to be replaced.

No hot water after one person showers. Would never stay here again and would not recommend.

Staff were very good so it’s not easy to write this review . Room had an awful smell , hair on my bed . The noise in this hotel was unreal , slamming doors and shouting across most floors until 2 am . The breakfast is catered more for locals , nothing that Europeans would eat . Fruit was warm also. Overall I would personally avoid . As for the staff they were great as well as the shuttle

Very elegant hotel, staff super kind and welcoming, probably one of the kindest people I have ever met. Conveniently located in front of the public beach (no bikini), with a water hosepipe at the entrance to wash your feet from sand.
Very good food on the rooftop terrace as well!

Tje only problem was the room: we regret we didn't choose the ocean view with balcony, because the standard one faces the wall with the aircon splitters. Even if our was off, we could hear other's during the night
Can't say we actually slept enough those days

The Ocean Grand is a fabulous hotel. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. The location is close to shopping and other services. The restaurant is rooftop with pool and an amazing view of the beach. The food is fresh and well seasoned and prepared. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Staff is superb going above and beyond to please. Ample staff available for support, very helpful. The rooms are small as they all are in Male but a nice area. Suggest requesting a room as an upgarafe with ocean view. We did on floor 5, beautiful view of the water just like the picture. Food is excellent and very fresh. Second stay in Male first was at Jen and we preferred this area as it is more quiet.

I have never met a friendlier and more helpful staff. I wish I didn’t have to leave. While the area is in progress with construction and sorts, the beach is right across the street. Perfect location and even better price. Food was also great and super cheap!

My group stayed here twice, before and then after a week long scuba liveaboard trip. The staff were very kind and accommodating. We booked day rooms after getting off the boat and this was so convenient to stay cool, rest, go for a walk to get our land legs back and get cleaned up again before the 40 hour journey home. The restaurant is very good with beautiful views of the ocean. This may be the best place to stay in Male!

We experienced a warm welcome from Gudu with a cold towel and a welcome drink, which made a great first impression. We were really satisfied with the smell of the hotel. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from both the room and the top roof restaurant where all stuff members were friendly and helpful.

The staff is great, the hotel is clean and modern, the roof top restaurant provides a great view and ambiance. The only issue. There is a lot of motorcycle noise outside late in the evening but that is out of the control of the hotel.

Perfect place for a last day before flying home. They gave us an early check-in and really looked after us. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The ferry to Male is a short walk away to explore the city. The best part was that they gave us a late check-out free of charge as we had an evening flight, which meant we could relax and enjoy the last day on the beach outside before being driven by them to the airport in a private transfer. Highly recommended, wish all hotels cared so much!

We had an amazing 3 night stay at Hotel Ocean Grand.
The free hotel pick-up was a welcome added bonus.
We had an Ocean View room which was amazing! The room was very clean and very well equipped.
The breakfasts were very good and substantial.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They looked after us very well, especially Aflal and Razam, who made sure our trip to the Maldives was a beautiful one. Thanks guys.

Not what it looks like on the internet, avoid

Well this property is not advertised correctly on hotels.com.

It has 1 restuarant/kitchen/menu and two places to eat from it, not two restaurants. The food is not good.

No beach with chairs and towels set up like in the picture

The rooms are noisy with paper thin walls, and although maybe the size stated is correct the picture are taken to make them look far big from the balcony or outside the room etc.

There are no onsite watersports like stated.

Bottom line this is nowhere near 4 star and is being sold wrong, I was miss sold this hotel and charged full rack.

The location is not good, you are better off in male if you actually have any time here to stay/entertain yourselfs.

Bottom line only good if you are literally staying the night only or you are paying £100 or ideally a lot less.

Think travelodge or premier Inn with a noisy room.

I would avoid, unless your a getting a price to match the property and facilities.

Very Nice Hotel

This Hotel is located on the main Island, and is a great stopover for anyone wishing to travel to the other islands. It is a lovely boutique size hotel, very clean, comfortable and modern...... you wont be disappointed with the decor in this Hotel as it seems to be very new and chic. The only disappointing factor for me was that there was no soap or soap dispenser in the bathroom to wash ones hands, so we went out and bought some ourselves, which should not have happened in a 4 star hotel in the Maldives. Perhaps management should make that a priority in their hotel going forward. Apart from that all the staff were amazing and all so friendly which made us feel very welcome indeed. This Hotel has a courtesy car, and they will pick you up at the airport on arrival, and drop you back for departure which is a wonderful service from them. Their driver Asif is such a lovely gentleman, so polite and a real people person ..... his English is wonderful and it was so easy to converse with him. I found it a pleasure to be in his company, and a nicer young man you couldn't find. I hope his company appreciate him for the great job he does for them. Yudi made my stay at the Ocean Grand Hotel.

This is a small Boutique hotel but a very modern place, and is located right across from a beautiful beach. The lovely roof top restaurant also shows night time views of the sea, with its shimmery reflections of the moon, which gives a lovely ambience while dining. The breakfast menu is very good, and served in a spacious open plan area downstairs. I have to thank all the staff as each and every one of them were so nice and helpful at all times. A special thanks though to our lovely friend Yudi in the Breakfast room who saw to it that we always had everything we needed for a good nourishing breakfast, and his politeness to us always,.... it was such a pleasure to see him there each morning with his lovely smile,and his readiness to help.....he loves working there and it really shows.
Thanks to all concerned from two happy Irish guests.

This is a small hotel in terms of the number of rooms but the staff is really big on service. The rooms are not huge, but decently sized and very well appointed. We had a balcony overlooking the beach - very nice for a cup of coffee in the morning or to sit and listen to the waves before going to bed. Our luggage didn't manage to follow us and the staff went above and beyond to help us find rental SCUBA gear and to have the airline initiate a search (which was eventually successful). Dinner on the rooftop restaurant was excellent. Airport transfers were included and very easy to arrange. My wife and I highly recommend the Hotel Ocean Grand.

This is a good hotel on the strip of hotels in Hulumale. They were very nice, but the most basic rooms don't have windows. Perhaps that is on me. But regardless of if you are going to a resort or a local island, Hulumale is not what you were expecting when you came to the Maldives. Like many tropical cities, it is an employment center, not a tourist destination.

last year we stayed at this hotel,.it was better last year than this time. This time of stay, there were no toothbrush, robe nor slippers. also the hotel was torn out with broken rubbish bin and with lwater leaking from the ceiling after the rain. Nevertheless, the good thing is hotel responded in emails promptly.

It’s was perfect for a one night stay before heading out to our main Maldives resort the next morning. Breakfast is good and the restaurant opens until 11.30 if your flight arrives late. A perfect hotel to unwind by the beach !!

We had an early morning flight back from Maldives after our resort vacation and wanted to stay a night close to the airport. The Ocean Grand is perfect. Service levels from Asif who met us at the Airport, organised our city tour, sorted our luggage and managing check-in was amazing. We were leaving early in the morning and they packed some sandwiches for us also. While our flight was delayed, they patiently waited to drop us to the Airport. Outstanding. Highly recommend.

This place was great for our short visit. My husband and I needed a place to rest before our long journey back to the US. The staff was VERY accommodating- they scheduled our transport to and from the airport in a timely manner. The hotel was nice and welcoming. My one issue was the ants. There were little tiny ants in our room. That aside the shower and the room itself were VERY clean - I would recommend this for a short stay.
