Hotel is 10min walk from terminal 2 of the airport which is very convenient, but thats about it. Very rude staff at the front desk that barely spoke english, had long issues finding my reservation, internet didnt work (takes a long time to even load a website, forget about making calls or doing something that requires faster connection).

Tried to check in at 8:30am, which must be very common given the proximity to the airport. was expecting a reasonable early checkin fee, but they charged me another full night, so I basically paid for the room from 3PM the previous day despite it being available. I understand this is a service the hotel offers and I can decline, I would just expect something more reasonable for a hotel that is right next to an airport and will have many similar customers.

the room was unbelievably hot, and unfortunately it was impossible to change the temperature. we slept with opened windows in October but even that didn’t help. The pillows were uncomfortable.
Location was good really near the airport, and there’s shuttle bus service. the staff was really friendly. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was delicious.

This is a perfectly fine hotel for a stay. There’s a shuttle that takes you to the airport. It’s a 15-minute walk, but uphill from the hotel. The rooms are pretty clean, but lack a few things you’d expect (like a spoon for example). I’d stay there again because it was adequate.

Close to airport was the reason for selecting this property. However, when I called for directions to walk to the property, they told me they’d send a shuttle and to wait at the terminal. We had to call 3 times as the shuttle took so long to arrive, nearly 40 minutes. With walking directions, we could have been there in about 5 minutes. We had a very short stay and I asked for a wake up call which we never received. The hotel also charged me to stay when we checked out despite having previously paid with Expedia. I have to call Expedia to remedy the double payment….showed hotel our paid reservation on Expedia and they still required me to pay again.

Conveniently located near CGN Airport

Conveniently located near the CGN (Köln/Bonn) airport, the hotel provides for a pleasant overnight stay before an early morning departure on a long trip. The rooms are spacious, and so are the bathrooms. A coffeemaker is in the room. There is a restaurant and a Beer Garden that also serves food, beer, and wine. The reception personnel is very friendly and helpful and the shuttle bus for the short ride to the airport runs every 15 minutes after 05:00h.

This was a good hotel for an overnight stay at the airport. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was the very odd attitude the desk staff displayed both on check-in and check-out. They weren't unpleasant/unhelpful, they just didn't seem particularly happy to see any guests at the hotel.

Seemed very short staffed. Only one waiter /bar tender in the outside bar which was serving meals as the restaurant was closed. Room had half drunk water bottles outside the door, and used toiletries left in bath room. Beds, carpets and bathroom otherwise clean - bed obviously freshly made. Maybe cleaner shortage also. The hotel was perfect for us. We were flying out early the next morning and wanted someplace close to the airport. The hotel is very close to the airport--it took about five minutes to get there from the airport and maybe two minutes to get to the airport from the hotel (since the route is more direct). The shuttle was easy to call, and once we figured out where the pickup location was (by the long-distance buses, if in Terminal 2), it was very easy. The reception was very friendly when we checked in and out. We also ordered room service (pizza), and the food was good and fast, and we had friendly encounters when ordering. The hotel isn't very modern, but our room was clean, and I would stay here again.

Very Standard Airport Hotel

Arrived very late at the airport and had issues finding the stop of the hotel shuttle as it was not signposted at the airport and not mentioned on the hotel website. On arrival one have to call the hotel (bearing in mind costs when coming from abroad) and then wait for the shuttle. (I have stayed in a lot of airport hotels so maybe the hotel can have a WhatsApp number one can text?) In my case I had to call twice and after 20min the shuttle came to pick me and some other guests up. The drive to the hotel was not even 5min, so although the chaotic search for the shuttle, don't take a taxi which will cost 6 Euro! On arrival at the hotel, quick checkin and helpful reception staff. The room was spacious although a bit outworn. Unfortunately I got two double beds instead of just one. Bed was confortable and the bathroom was ok! Everything you need for a one night stay. I didn't book breakfast the next morning so I cannot leave a review for it. If you are looking for a good, standard hotel close to the airport, this is yours.

Great stay in Cologne

This is a great hotel and it was a very reasonable price. The room was big with 2 large beds, a desk to write on or do computer work. We had to stay overnight in Cologne for a connecting flight out the next day so I chose this as it was so close to the airport. The restaurant was great, good food, great service. It is so nice to have the shuttle from the airport to the hotel also.

My stay at the Leonardo was ok. Most of the staff were good apart from the weekend breakfast team who were completely disorganised and rude. This team needs training in customer service. The hotel could have been more generous with towels, but overall it was good and the meal we had on Sunday night was great.

We would stay there again.

We only stayed for a few hours due to a very early flight, the room & the bed were very comfortable. We were disappointed not to have the shower cubicle we asked for as we are disabled & unable to climb into a bath. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful.

5 stars to Leonardo hotel Köln airport

The only problem I had was the lighting in the bedroom was not bright enough.
The room was clean and spacious, TV with English channels, 2 comfortable double beds, big bathroom with a bathtub, which was very clean.
Very friendly staff, I felt very comfortable. Location quite near the airport which I wanted. Free shuttle to the airport. Also free 90mins parking.

Very expensive, although cheaper than other hotels in the area. Not only expensive, but additional significant charges for parking and breakfast. The shower in the tub has only a partial glass wall resulting in water getting all over the bathroom floor. No view or balcony, although the window can be opened. There is coffee in the room. It is right near the airport and also an easy autobahn drive into Cologne.

Really surprised to ,find such an excellent hotel for an overnight stay close to the airport. Can't say much about the local area as we arrived late in the evening and left early to catch our flight.
Our short stay in Germany (less than 24h) ended on a very pleasant happy note and I can happily recommend this hotel for its excellent services and great ambience provided by very kind and helpful team.

We stayed just one night as we had a very early flight to catch. Great, modern hotel, spacious room with everything you need. Pleasant Beer Garden overlooking park area. The shuttle bus operated from 5 am and is a very short ride to the terminals. All in all a good stay and highly recommended- you won’t get nearer to the airport!

Unreliable airport shuttle especially at night

Arrived at the airport late after a long day of travel. Stood at the terminal for airport shuttle pick-up which we waited for over 25 minutes with no signs of pick-up we decided to walk to the hotel. The hotels phones were not working to figure out what was going on. The staff on arrival was accusatory and unapologetic for this inconvenience. We did the park and fly for our trip but I would advise to skip the hotel and just go to an airport parking lot. The airport shuttle seems to be slow if not unreliable at night since we weren't the only guests that needed to walk back from the airport.

ask for a room with just a shower

I was given room 604 which was right under the flight path for aircraft landing at the Koln/Bonn airport which caused me to have an uncomfortable nights sleep, along with not being able to cool the room down via their air-con system. The restaurant menu was, my fault I accept, not able to offer me an enjoyable meal, I like my food dry, plain or to some quite bland, however the breakfast was better than fine. The check-in/out along with the shuttle bus from/to the airport were more than adequate. Overall I would stay here again if I were needing to catch an early morning flight.
