We were very disappointed with our stay. After check-in, we found the toilet seat broken. The reception informed us it could be repaired in the evening, but since we had dinner plans, we agreed it could be fixed the next day after check-out. We placed the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door.

However, when we returned from dinner, someone had entered our room without permission, repaired the toilet, and left dirty footprints and stains in the bathroom. This is a serious breach of privacy. No staff should enter a guest room when the “Do Not Disturb” sign is displayed.

When we reported the issue, the reception staff seemed unable to understand why we were upset. In addition, we found toothpaste on the bathroom door and a large brown water stain on the duvet. So the room was never really clean in the first place!

Mistakes can happen, but respecting guests’ privacy and maintaining cleanliness are basic standards. Unfortunately, there was no assistance, and no goodwill gesture. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience — luckily, only for one night.

Bar area ok for all inclusive, but if you was paying customer, not a great selection of drinks and not a quality of drinks and all the entertainment was down in there pool bar, which is not the most comfortable place to watch entertainment

My only issue was the Hotel's WiFi, which was really slow. The staff was nice and friendly. But overall, the hotel is great. The location of the hotel is only a 5 min walk to Kardamaina which has lots of food options.

The quiet pool was excellent with Gazebo pods to feel you had privacy. The customer service was superb any issue was resolved very quickly. On criticism would be the WiFi, started off ok but deteriorated over 10 days, unsuitable for any sort of streaming.

Nice hotel with lovely rooms and great sea views and pools. Convenient for the local town with beaches and plenty of restaurants and shops.
Only downfall is the small beach and the steep hill the hotel is built on which is not ideal for the less fit or disabled. We had bed and breakfast only. A lovely stay.

Property pools are nice and the view from the hotel is Amazon. The rooms are big but a little outdated. The worse part is the quality od the food provided. Not only is it quite limited, but also the food itself is not good and of a very poor quality. All inclusive is not worth it, ended up eating on the city for lunch and dinner more than half of my stay.

Check in was a disaster, the wait for check in and the room was long and the staff was abrupt and not very friendly. Expedia site noted check out was noon but the front deck states that was wrong and check out was 11 am. The room i booked had 4 beds but the room I got only had 3 beds. I was charged and extra 80 dollars at check in but was not explained what it was. Overall very poorly managed but the resort was beautiful. Would not go back or recommend.

The location was excellent 10 minutes walk from the town centre Kardeminia.
The hotel itself was lovely, very welcoming, the staff we lovely, friendly and accommodating.
We stayed a family room with 2 bedrooms it was very spacious, clean and modern.
The view from the restaurant was stunning, one of the best views I've seen overlooking the sea and close Greek Islands.
The food was ok, dinner a bit better than breakfast due to the limited choice of foods.
There are some steep walks to get to the pool or restaurants.

We did read some reviews prior to booking, I would agree about it not being 5 star per say, having stayed in a few 5 star hotels on other holidays, but none the less a lovely hotel, maybe a 3.5/4 star.

Overall I would recommend this hotel, for the rooms, location staff. We loved our holiday.

You should only go to this hotel if you are in excellent health and fitness - very VERY hilly and we were there during a heat wave. While there were some golf carts, they were not always available. Also, the pools are only open from 10 am to 6 pm, so no chance of early or late swimming, and it was 95 degrees. You get a message that towels will only be changed once a week. The front desk rattles off 20 rules when you check in and it seemed like every time we asked for something we were told, \"we told you when you checked in, towels once a week\" etc. The room was spacious and clean. Food nothing special, although servers were very nice. The beach is rocky but there is a nice beach at the hotel next door. All is all, would not go again.

Stayed in this property for 7 nights. We had booked a triple room and were provided with a family room with 2 separate rooms sleeping 2 each beside the Sea Breeze Bar and Pool. The room was cleaned daily, fresh bottle water provided each morning and air conditioning which was a must with the recent soaring temperatures. No rushing to get loungers but the pool, which can be the case in some resorts. We did not avail of the all inclusive package but ordered room service one evening (food portions were very big and good value for money). The walk to breakfast is very steep but it is possible to ask for a lift on one of the golf carts. The strip in Kardamena is only 10min walk with a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. As our departing flight was late and check out is 11am we asked to avail of late check out at 7pm and while we had to relocate to a different room it was done very seamlessly at a very affordable charge of about €20. The property is well maintained with beautiful views throughout. It can be windy beside the pool but it was welcome to make the heat more manageable. There were also daily activities at the pool starting with darts around 11am, aqua Zumba around 11.45am and water polo in the afternoon. Child friendly shows on evenings at 9.30pm. A great week and lovely stay in Grand Blue

A very enjoyable holiday in a 5 star hotel that deserves these 5 stars. Very clean and very well kept hotel. A lot of green! Rooms cleaned daily, towels changed daily. Very tasty food! A big nod to the chef and restaurant manager. Good gym equipment. Very nice hotel staff! They do a really good job.I definitely recommend this hotel.

All good, but shortfall in sun loungers, which are all reserved with towels from about 9am. If you come down after that you'll likely not get one, although some just have towels and bags on all day but no people.
Staff excellent in all areas and a lovely location for the hotel.

Lovely property, great views and several pools to choose from. Be aware the property extends up a hill from the beach and 2 pools so if you’re not up to climb the hill there are hold carts or stay at the upper pool. Breakfast buffet was abundant but I walked about 10 minutes into town for beachside dinner each night. I highly recommend Grand Blue and Kardamena!

It is an all inclusive hotel but we stayed bed and breakfast and because the hotel is only 10 min walk from Kardamena it was easy to find a lovely bar or restaurant
The hotel is clean and Smart and has multiple pools that are all amazing

Just back from a weeks stay in this lovely hotel. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The buffet lunch and dinner consisted of around 12 hot dishes / sides / veg, 2 salad bars, a fruit bar, a dessert bar, bread etc. All staff I found to be very friendly and accommodating. We spent most of our time at the Seabreeze pool and bar where the entertainment took place. The entertainment team. Joy, Peter and Helena were great and spent time chatting and getting to know you and worked extremely hard throughout the day and evening. A special thank you also to Mikel at the bar for looking after us so well!

Lovely hotel, with great pools

Lovely hotel. We were bed & breakfast only, great buffet breakfast, staff worked really hard, only complaint would be there was not enough crockery, we often had to wait for bowls & glasses. The hotel is on a fairly steep hill, we knew this when booking & it wasn’t a problem for us but something to be aware of. The hotel does offer a golf buggy service if required. Great location, about a 10 minute walk into town. Beach directly opposite is ok but not great, it’s better towards town.

Large hotel, spread over a hillside. Quite steep hills but easy to request a golf buggy to help. Three large pools with plenty of sun beds. Food was excellent with plenty of choice. 15 minute walk along the beach road into town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Friendly staff and very helpful.

It is a very nice hotel with great views and comfortable beds. One woman in the spa was quite rude when changing towels, like it is a chore for her. The food does not match the hotel. I went with half board as i don't like to stay at hotel all day. If i went again i would go breakfast only as local food is cheap and far superior. The food really is below average and the buffet is hugely wasteful, which in a country like Greece (and a 5* hotel) is unacceptable.

The hotel location is great and the view of the sea is breathtaking, but there are few things which dont let me give a full five stars:
- all pools are cold, colder than even the sea, which is not something either myself or my daughters could understand. they love water and swimming, but they just didi not enjoy being in such a cold water. and it wasnt only them, there were hardly anyone in the 3 big swimming pools of the hotel
- Internet was scrappy and almost useless in our rooms, I had to use my mobile data and personal hotspot to allow all of us Internet
- food was good, but I expected better, it didnt have the \"spark\" I expected from a 5-stars hotel in Greece. Best meal we had was in fact the a-la-carte one on our last night there (you were allowed a free meal at the a-la-carte restaurant)
- our rooms cleanliness wasnt up to scratch, you could not walk barefoot without getting very dirty on the feet, I dont think the ceramic floors have been cleaned for quite a while
- as a half-board you felt excluded a bit in the restaurant - allowed only water as everything else would cost.

There were good things too:
- the spa - the massages were great, although on the expensive side (Cristina was absolutely great!)
- the location and the sea view
- the weather (nothing to do with hotel, I know)
- large rooms in our family apartment and large bathroom
- balcony where you could admire the view

All in all a pleasant stay, but not 5-stars I'm afraid, I would say between 3 and 4.

The overall place is beautiful. It’s clean and I felt very safe. The staff was super friendly ,......until you got to the spa. While they made great arrangements to accommodate my treatment request they asked me to pay upfront for all services. This was after I was
In the spa for over 30 minutes in the facilities. This was never disclosed to me so I had not brought any form of payment. They were also unable
To charge my room. I was so embarrassed that I left. While I had the ability to pay I felt like their communication was so poor during booking and check in. Had they mentioned this I wouldn’t have written a review. Now they’re down the money they could have made had I only been allowed to get my money and pay after. Such a shame. Get a new spa protocol and management and I’ll come back.

The hill is hard work so it would be difficult for anyone less mobile but they do help with the buggies when they can.

Amazing Stay

Probably the best moderately priced hotel you will find on Kos Island. The food is excellent, for those who chose the all inclusive, and near the town of Karthamena, where you can get some tourist shopping done, and a day excursion to the island of Nysiros. I'm Greek, and come to Greece every year, this is one of the best stays I've had anywhere. Only issue... Cab drivers do NOT like to take you to the hotel because of the dirt road that dirties their cabs... really? But other than that little bump, its great.

Great hotel, amazing stay

I was at the hotel for 5 days and it was an amazing experience. All you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, a free 15 minute massage, a gym, 2 great pools and a buggy taking you anywhere from the reception or you can summon one by calling the reception from your hotel room with the phone. Staff was very friendly except for one bar manager whom was very unfriendly, rude and very patronising because she wouldn't let us sit outside when there was clearly empty tables outside. We spoke to the restaurant manager who was a lovely and friendly person who sorted out the issue for us and sat us outside on one of the free tables. Overall a good experience and would definitely come here again if I had the choice.

An excellent hotel that can only become better

This is a truly 5-star hotel taking the whole side of a hill from the sea up to 150 m above sea level. Stunning views of the Aegean and surrounding islands and of sunrise if you care to get up early. Moving up and down still a bit cumbersome in spite of several electric cars and their drivers doing their best. We were upgraded to a suite just by saying that there was a bit of noise from the central A/C unit on the roof. Rooms were spacious, well equipped and very clean, the staff exceedingly friendly, the sea water clean and fresh and our stay to our full satisfaction. The hotel started two years ago and one can expect that it will be even better in the future. Gardens need to grow to full development and a few small things could change the service at breakfast to make it perfect. Not to forget: 15 minutes of free massage of your choice. I extended it to 65 minutes at 50 Euro and Julia proofed to be an excellent masseuse. One of the best treatments I ever had. A word to the PR manager: Thanks for the rock-and-roll dance.

Lovely staff and clean rooms

Our room was good but near the pool where a lot of noisy activities took place until 11 pm most nights. Food more 4 star but ok. We stayed b & b only but if we wanted to eat in the restaurant the only option was the buffet food. very steep location so not ideal for some people and a mini bus into town would be welcome. On the whole it was very good and would return.

I booked this hotel and our stay in Kardamena only by looking at other's reviews and pictures. We were not disappointed, we were actually so pleasantly surprised. The hotel is not far from the airport and is outside but walking distance from the center of Kardamena. Its a very family orientated resort that offers excellent food, swimming pools (quiet and noisy ones near the bar), has small beach area. The resort, being located on a hill, is a very steep to walk up, but there is a small train that comes when the hotel guests request it. I personally found that walking up the hill ensures me a great sleep at night. The room we stayed was in the main building. It is a good size room, amazing balcony view. The air condition works quietly. We had espresso machine in the room and everyday coffee capsules supply. We also received a free 15min massage voucher on the arrival.The only one negative point I would say is the terrible internet connection. This was annoying but I believe that the management can sort out this issue.
Few words about the town - charming small place, not crowded, not noisy, very predisposing to relax. I'm planning visit again and surely to stay in this hotel.

If you like going all inclusive...

If you like all inclusive places this is pretty good, my only criticism is that there weren't enough places around the pools. People got up fairly early to reserve their space!
It does have some nice beach space too though.

Warm welcome and good local cuisine

Booked Grand Blue knowing it was on a hill overlooking Kardemena bay. Morning view is stunning; from our balcony at the top of the hotel we could watch the sun rise and see the hotel grounds laid out before us.

My mum walks very slowly with a stick, we had read about the golf buggies and the hotel staff call for these so you can get from the room to the pool, or beach for coach trip pick ups or the restaurants. It made a lovely hotel accessible for us, something that is normally difficult. Nothing is too much trouble. Every single member of hotel staff looked after my mum, taking their time to make sure she was comfortable.

The food was varied and good quality, especially the traditional Greek dishes. All inclusive is plentiful, no need for any additional expenses during your stay unless you particularly want branded drinks. The guests are mainly German & Dutch, there was no rowdy behaviour from holidaymakers during our stay which made for a very pleasant time round the pool, bars and restaurant areas.

Thoroughly recommend the Grand Blue.

Runners: There is an out and back flat 7 mile run along the coast path with super views of beach and sea. Lots of other runners in Kardemena too, although best to finish your run before 8am!

We had a lovely stay at Grand Blue. It's still very early days for the hotel and they are still tweaking things but the service was great, typical Greek hospitality. Great location for an easy walk into Kardamena. Breakfast was good plenty of hot and cold choice. The pool scene was good, 3 to choose from all offering something different. I will be back in September
