The property is amazing its on a cliff with a small walk to private beach - one of the pretier beaches I have seen. There are 2 pareller infinty pools and staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was not good only in the Med brunch and the buffet.

Good al la carte food but the main buffet was lacking in comparison to the star rating. Staff were really nice and attentive. Had a pool room didn't leave the room to go to the other pools so I can't comment on pool and facilities. There's a lot of steps so bear that in mind.

This is a lovely hotel and we were lucky enough to stay in room 2508 which in my opinion is one of the best rooms .. we had a private pool so no scramble For a sunbed in the morning. If

Wrong rather than making excuses the main lobby bar is dated but Arthur will make any drink you ask for .. the buffet restaurant is just ok if you had to eat here for the majority of your holiday I would be very disappointed . Booked for 30th wedding anniversary and advised them - no acknowledgment at hotel - my daughters came too and were given the better room of the two booked. The main lobby and dining areas are very dated - told pool opened 8/8.30 arrived at 7.55 every sunbed taken already - I asked pool attendant when the beds were taken - he said 6.30am & suggested I ask the towel man to put some out for us the next day (at cost of a tip) rooms overlooking infinity pool area get disturbed at 6.30am every morning from noise of people saving sunbeds. They’re meant to move belongings if no-one sitting on sunbeds for more than an hour - I can confirm that does not happen. Hard to get beach sunbeds also as guests from other hotels use them as area is not patrolled. There are a lot of stairs here and nowhere local to walk to really, other than other Mitsis hotels. Superior rooms are lovely - 1511 (superior sea view ) has loungers on terrace. Note: guests staying in room next door can walk onto your terrace easily. Book the a la carte restaurants before you arrive, if possible, as you probably won’t get into them if you don’t. The breakfast buffet is average- too much oil used on everything. Lunch /evening buffet is average food. The Med and Dusk restaurant have good food. They should send their chefs to the Tivoli Hotel in Alvor, Portugal, to see quality all inclusive food being served. Queues for drinks in eve. Communication in English is poor here - Not a five star yet.

please be aware there are some rooms which have not been which have a beautiful sea view but are very dated. very clean & fully stocked mini bar but if you are a frequent Mitsis visitor you will be disappointed if you dont booked a renovated room - well worth paying extra. Reception & main restaurant - great food & drink choice but needs a refresh - restaurants are fabulous - we travelled with Son, daughter in law & daughter having 2 rooms & had an amazing week at the Summer palace - thank you for looking after us - we have recommended to family & will return :-)

Firstly, this was a business trip and this was the only property available for a certain number of our days there, so a place like this was pretty inconvenient for my purposes and not someplace I wanted to stay. For business travelers, Kos Marina area is better. This property was clean enough. I had a room with a great view and private tiny pool. Stress the word tiny, but still nice.

The gym is barely a gym. Would have been nice to have better, but it did the job. The buffet is a buffet. Loud, hectic and annoying. Buffet food is okay. Don’t expect to eat anything memorable.There are restaurants on site that you can eat at but the food is just as un-memorable. Except for what they call Japanese. That one I remember because there is nothing Japanese about it. It was plain awful.

No place to walk to except around the property which is extremely hilly, so that was fun. (Sarcasm)

This place is geared toward couples just to get drunk during the day and pass out after dinner. There is ZERO nightlife here. Now if by chance I would have had my wife here, I don’t think we would like it either. There is really nothing to do except sit on the beach or pool and we have both of those at home with better food.

So, couples that don’t live near a beach or have a pool and just need a few drunken lazy days, this is for you. If you want great restaurants, variety and night life on this island, you stay in the Kos Marina area.

The beach was superb and you could stay all day as you could get food and drink . The staff were almost all friendly but the food was standard . The place was clean and you could get a cart to beach / supermarket the drivers were very friendly . The Mediterranean brunch was my favourite meal and staff consistently lovely here .

It’s a nice hotel but too expensive for what it is. I also believe you need a car if your staying here and want to explore. No other restaurants are near by / walkable . This hotel is all inclusive.We had a reservation at the sushi Al a crate restaurant and we did not like any of the food. Everything was cold and was not made to order. I would rate it a 0 out of 5 . We did however enjoy the Italian / Mediterranean restaurant the med. Buffet can be a hit or miss. Beach gyro station always had a long line. Overall good rating is a 2.5 out of 5. Staff is welcoming. The room we got was close to the main building so it kept us up at night hearing the arcade games. I had a hard time finding a beach lounger since everyone claims the chairs. In my opinion the pool is cloudy/ foggy.

We have just returned from a fantastic week at Summer Palace. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the hotel itself is very impressive, although it’s certainly worth paying more to stay in a renovated room. The meals we had were lovely and there was a fanatic selection of quality cocktails. We love the Mitsis chain and Summer Palace didn’t disappoint.

Our stay was amazing! We stayed in one of the older rooms but it was very spacious, clean and had a beautiful sea view.

The buffet restaurant (Panorama) had a lot of variety every day. We are vegetarian and there were plenty of options to choose from :) We used all the a la carte restaurants, too! It's quite easy to get a table at the Med for brunch and dinner (usually you need to book one or two days ahead), but a table at the Den (BBQ one) is almost impossible to get. I strongly recommend checking on the booking page regularly, in case someone cancels. That's how we got our table there, as they were fully booked for the duration of our stay. The experience is great and they offer a nice selection of veggies too. I would love to see more vegetarian options (main courses) for the dinner at the Med in the future.

The drinks are great! Bartenders are going the extra mile to make them delicious! You can get the best ones at the Den or the Med/by the pool.

The main infinity pool is amazing, although it's really hard to get a spot around there during the day. It's worth trying around lunchtime/in the afternoon, as that's when some spaces become available. I would suggest going to the beach in the morning or using one of the many pools around the hotel. Nests are wonderful to spend time in too!

The staff at the hotel is really friendly and helpful! They also refill the minibar in the room every other day for free!

Overall, we've got a great value out of our stay!

The food was really disappointing, low quality, didn't even use extra vergin olive oil to giv an expalme. The new infinity swimming pool are really nice but they are small and at 8am the sunbeds were all already taken. The beach is nice but old chairs. The room was old and noisy, the pillow too hard and big. The staff was nice but the atmosphere wasn't great. I am glad we only stayed 2 days, definitely not a 5 starts hotel

We wore traveled two friends for a weekend in Mitsis Summer Palace, its cool place for young people mainly because of the pool. Beside that the rooms are old and not styled, the hall next to the room is really noisy and disturb you to sleep from the early morning, the food is not great and around the hotel there is not much to do - every village is minimum 30 minutes ride.

Mitsis Summer Palace - Good but room for improvemt

The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. The food was generally very nice with lots of options although there were occasions when some things ran out and there was no more! This meant you had to eat early or risk the chance of missing out!! The staff were always courteous, helpful and friendly.

A few niggles: There was no ventilation in the bathroom so bit like a sauna! If you wanted a sunbed by the infinity pools you had to be up very, very early! Music from the new lower restaurant could be heard in the upper bar. Very annoying as they were different!!

Would not consider it a five star hotel but there are lots of improvements still going on so maybe they will get there one day??

Great hotel on the beach

We really enjoyed our October week at the Summer Palace. The staff were great and very friendly, the food was great and varied - we especially enjoyed the Greek restaurant. We spent most days at the beach, which had a free bar and a good lunch service. Our room was huge and had a fridge with beers, water and soft drinks that was replenished free every 2 days.

First of all I must say that all the staff in all departments were excellent,very helpful and friendly,which was very good.
Four of us went and had a nice time, the hotel is nice, good size with an outdoor pool (with sea salt) and an indoor one. The hotel was clean all the time and our rooms were cleaned every day.
The beach is close by via a lift or a walking distance.
You can get pizza by the pool and drinks all the time,and food on the beach like burgers til 1.30pm
The pool area is nice but when busy you might have to 'reserve' your bed which is annoying and the beach can get busy as well..
The food in the hotel is OK not great but just about passable,I didn't like seeing flys on the food at times and maybe some covers need to be introduced for that.. You can book other restaurants on the complex in advance to eat at.
The queues after for drinks can get long when busy.
Personally I feel the hotel is a 4* and not 5 like some have stated.

We had a pleasant stay at the Mitsis Summer Palace. The place is very clean and the bedrooms are done on a daily basis. The service in the restaurants was great. Do book the greek restaurant which is a la carte. Thoroughly enjoyed the octopus and sea food. Food in main buffet area was good but not amazing. Wifi was free for 2 hours in the main reception area but extremely slow. Entertainment team were hard working and lovely. Lots of pools areas and bars and plenty of sun lounges. Please note that there are a lot of stairs and hills to contend with. If you have mobility issues, beware. Shower room and dressing room was a bit of a let down on the day of departure, again not up to a 4 or 5star standard. Would go again if price is right.

Disappointed with the quality of the food. Mostly cold and not heated properly. Pork chicken and burgers all week.
Meat appeared to be scraps, and bones.

Eggs cold must be a health problem.
No variation in the menu.

Had to ask for cutlery always missing from the tables.
Not enough salt and pepper pots to go round.
Entertainment was lacking in the bars upstairs.
Wine very below standard.
Coffee always cold.

Lack of spirits and tonic behind the bar.
Cocktails offered were not on offer as the spirits etc were not available to make them.

Sauberkeit & Zimmer

Die Sauberkeit im Hotel war hervorragend. Die Zimmer wurden täglich gründlich gereinigt, die Einrichtung ist ansprechend und der Ausblick ist besonders schön. Das Housekeeping-Team ist sehr freundlich und die Organisation des Hotels insgesamt gut.

Essen

Das Buffet morgens und abends ist enttäuschend und keinesfalls 5-Sterne-würdig. Für Vegetarier gibt es kaum Auswahl. Zum Glück kann man auf die À-la-carte-Restaurants ausweichen, die wirklich sehr lecker sind. Besonders das „Med“ hat beim Brunch und Abendessen überzeugt. Eigentlich darf man jedes À-la-carte-Restaurant nur einmal pro Aufenthalt nutzen, doch das Personal war so freundlich, dass eine weitere Buchung bei Verfügbarkeit möglich war.
Leider wirkt das Personal oft unmotiviert und unfreundlich. Man wird teilweise kaum beachtet und manchmal mit einem genervten Blick empfangen, wenn man etwas fragt.

Pools & Strand

Die Infinity-Pools sind wunderschön, ruhig und bieten einen tollen Ausblick. Die Poolbedienung war gut. Allerdings gibt es ab 9 Uhr keine Handtücher mehr und es wird nicht nachgefüllt. Um eine Liege am Pool zu bekommen, muss man sehr früh aufstehen. Am Strand ist die Lage entspannter, dort stehen ausreichend Liegen zur Verfügung.

Getränke & Bars

Die Getränke waren kaum geniessbar – fast alles schmeckte stark nach Chlor, sowohl am Pool als auch in den Restaurants. Wir mussten auf die Dosen vom Zimmer zurückgreifen.

Grundsätzlich war das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer mit Plunsch-Pool war super. Das Servicepersonal im Main Restaurant hat uns als Gäste überwiegend wenig beachtet. Teilweise musste man sich das Besteck und auch Getränke selbst organisieren. Hier waren wir aus anderen Mitsis Hotels deutlich mehr Service gewohnt.
Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber nicht überragend.
Die Expedia-Seite ist nicht mehr ganz aktuell, da es z.B. keine Crepeteria mehr vor Ort gibt - für uns persönlich schade, weil dies mit ein Entscheidungskriterium für dieses Hotel war (kannten wir bereits aus einem anderen Mitsis Hotel).

Wir waren im Mai 2024 dort. Hatten eine Junior Suite im neuen Teil gebucht, die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und sehr schön eingerichtet. Die gesamte Anlage war sehr schön gestaltet. Der Grund für die 4 Sterne bei der Sauberkeit sind folgende: Hauptrestaurant Geschirr, Besteck und Gläser hätten sauberer sein können. Ebenso die Gläser in der Strandbar. Die Speiseauswahl war riesig vorallem im Hauptrestaurant und wurde geschmacklich getopt durch die weiteren Restaurants im Hotel, in denen man sich problemlos einen Tisch online reservieren kann. Selbst Minibar und alles andere war komplett All-inclusive. Der Großteil der Mitarbeiter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Man hat zahlreiche Möglichkeiten Vorort die man im Hotel oder online dazu buchen kann.
Am Strand hatten wir nie Probleme eine Liege zu bekommen. Insgesamt hatten wir eine traumhafte Zeit.

E’ lunga la strada per essere un 5 stelle

Per la nostra esperienza l’hotel purtroppo non ha servizi e staff adeguati ad un hotel 5 stelle.
La struttura include una zona nuova bella e un’area vecchia ancora da ristrutturare.
La parte vecchia dell’hotel come la hall e la sala buffet non hanno aria condizionata e non sono ben tenute a livello di pulizia (cibo in giro, piatti sporchi accumulati, condizionatori non funzionanti completamente ricoperti di sporco nero…).
In generale, i camerieri e lo staff pulizie sono disattenti e non curanti sufficientemente dello sporco.
I pasti buffet hanno abbastanza ampia scelta anche se ripetitivi e la qualita’ e’ piu’ allineata a quella di un villaggio turistico di medio basso livello. Ragione per cui abbiamo cenato poche volte in hotel.
La spiaggia dell’hotel ha lettini e ombrelloni vecchi e ci sono parecchi insetti, ragione per cui non ne abbiamo mai usufruito.
Il bar della spiaggia e’ decadente e poco fornito.
La parte nuova dell’hotel, che include camere, zone piscine e ristoranti a la carte, e’ molto bella e abbastanza ben tenuta. Le camere sono belle e sempre ben rifornite di bibite ed altro. Anche qui qualche problemino con la pulizia.
Dopo aver condiviso i nostri feedback attraverso una survey online che e’ arrivata dall’hotel dopo qualche giorno di soggiorno, siamo stati convocati a parlare con un responsabile, che si e’ limitato a segnare i nostri feedback e farci ripulire la camera.
C’e’ tanto ancora su cui lavorare.
