Rivonia Premier Lodge is an oasis of green in a Johannesburg suburb. The rooms are well planned around green lawns. They are clean and spacious. The staff are all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is superb. We can’t wait to visit again.

Pro’s: Lovely place. Beautiful gardens and bird life. WiFi good, service fantastic. Breakfast selection is excellent. Personalised service.
Con’s. No aircon so room was hot and cannot open doors due to mosquitoes. Fan not effective. Bed a little too hard for my liking.

Staff at reception, dining and bedroom all of them were efficient and kind. Bedroom was spacious and clean, large bed, good mattress and pillows. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed staying at Rivonia Bed & Breakfast and will come back. Expedia special tariffs was very good. It worth every cent.

Cleanliness — we couldn't help but notice the ugly grey mould growth around the caulking and in the corners of the tub area. Not very appealing I gotta tell you, not very appealing at all!

And staying with the cleanliness theme, the carpet mats in the room area have likely been there for quite some time. I can only imagine how many pairs of sweaty feet have traipsed over them. Time for a refresh, or even better yet, get rid of them completely and stick with only the tiled floor.

Sleep Quality -- you have to do better! My partner and I have stayed at B&Bs the world over and in our opinion at least the mattresses your establishment provided rank as some of the poorest we have come access. You’re in the BED business after all where guests are looking for a luxurious BED experience. The mattresses you provide should be plush and COMFORTABLE to sleep in. An “oh my God these beds are beautiful” experience is what we were expecting. The thin, firm and well-worn product provided by Rivonia is certainly not worthy of the rate they charge to rent the room.

We also ordered a dinner one evening at their restaurant. For the most part the meal served was satisfactory, but the lead time could be shortened. I appreciate that their food is prepared fresh to order but waiting some 45 minutes for a burger to show up is a little excessive in my view. Breakfast however was of superior quality and the staff in attendance for the breakfast service were excellent.

Wonderfully charming place to stay

Wonderfully welcoming and hospitable staff who made my stay very enjoyable. The location is safe and easy to get to, while the rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is delicious with lots of options including cooked meals. Plus, there’s the option to pre book evening meals mid week - perfect if you’re jet lagged or on a quick layover. The staff are happy to help with anything and I felt very safe and happy there.

We booked Rivonia B & B due to our air travel being in the evening. We found this to be far more comfortable than staying at a hotel. We could not have been happier with our accommodation and the staff provided excellent service. A driver was also available should the clients wish to take advantage of this service. We would thoroughly recommend this attractive well maintained facility to travellers desiring pleasant and comfortable short term accommodation.

My stay was too short - only one night - but I would definitely stay again. Its a very well appointed lodge in a leafy business district of Johannesburg. The staff were super-friendly and helpful and went above and beyond whatever was asked of them. I would highly recommend.

Garden hotel in a big city

We have again enjoyed our stay at Rivonia B & B. Everyone is cheerful and friendly and keen to help. The transfers to and from the airport saved a lot of effort. The accommodation is superb and set in beautiful gardens. Breakfast is always excellent and the setting provides the opportunity to watch the birds feeding at the same time. The wi-if is also good. Many thanks to all at Rivonia B & B. We hope to return soon.

A hassle to enter/exit

We spent one night at Rivonia B&B in mid September and had a comfortable stay. We had a standard room, close to the pool and dining room, with a nice outdoor sitting area. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but not very spacious. The shower requires attention - the tiled floor continues into the shower area and the flow of water down the shower drain is not sufficient to stop the water backing up and flowing across the floor. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There is a restaurant precinct within a short drive. The venue is secure within a gated community, but difficult to locate and exit with many dead-end streets nearby.

What a warm and friendly welcome by all staff. We booked whilst on the way to joburg due to unanticipated changes to our tennis tournament, but it was as if we planned our stay in advanced. Sleep at Rivonia BB if you're in Joburg

I stayed 4 nights at Rivonia B&B and all I have to say is that it absolutely deserves all of its good reviews. My room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is nice and safe (upscale neighborhood in the northern suburbs of the city). WiFi was working well, which was not at all the case at other hotels during my trip. Overall great value for money! I recommend!!

Weekend in the Burbz

We were warmly greeted by the receptionist who graciously explained all the facilities, and the need to knows of the B&B and were escourted to our room by cheerful gentlemen. The room was warm and eloquently presented, later we discovered that there was underground heating(absolutely lovely and great for those gold Joburg nights). The room was modernly decorated with a lavish king-sized bed,and an amazing view. It really was an amazing get away

I have stayed at this hotel before and returned finding the same excellence as my previous experience. The staff and service is of a very high quality. They are very accommodating and allowed us to get into our room early. The owner offers personal service and you can see that their staff are hard working and always ready to please.
