Hotel was okay and stayed there previously. It’s showing sign of age but for 3 star ok. It’s straight next to Seaworld and there was some noise in early morning hours.

Also be warned that 2 girl bars have appeared next door to hotel, not there last year. Annoying at times and got fed up of being asked to go in for a drink .
For those not aware they offering more than drinks .

The hotel receptionist went well beyond normal duties, I was trying to get a taxi from the hotel the Shekou Ferry going to the Hong Kong Airport on the morning of Feb. 7th at 6AM. Normally this is not an issue, but because of CNY, there were none. The receptionist saw the issue and was able to arrange a car to pick me up, her help solved a potential issue, she did a great job!!

Old, outdated and dirty.

Room was old, smelly, dirty and air-conditioning didnt work. We had them come twice to fix it. They didnt so we gave up. The downstairs offered us a fan. The cornwr of the room had black spots on the wall. We didnt get a desk or sofa like in the photo for business room twin. The location is good.

Well located good value hotel

Honlux is located amongst numerous ex-pat hangouts in the Shekou part of Shenzhen. It is a nice hotel, well staffed and serves as a good base for other work in China - it is easy to get both good Chinese food and a range of other foods including excellent pub food (you need to hunt a little bit I recommend George and Dragon) in this locality.

Hotel is very nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. For some reason they could not turn my AC on so the room was a bit hot for me and couldn't sleep without the patio door open, which is directly facing the main road.

Having previously stayed at the Hilton , this hotel is in a much better locale. Obviously it does not have the same facilities but it has everything you need for a business trip. No hesitation in staying there again. I booked one of the exec rooms which very comfortable. Place is very clean. Breakfast ok for the price

Downtown She Kou, close to the MTR

Signage outside is a little difficult to find, but right next to the MTR station Sea World, exit A. Overlooking the square next to the food and bar area. Excellent for westerners without Chinese language skills. Quick walk to nearby parks and areas, less than 5 minute taxi ride to She Kou ferry terminal to Hong Kong and Macau.

Rooms were good sized, clean and staff were friendly. Happily recommend to visitors to She Kou area.

We requested but They did nothing to fix the broken air conditioner. The room was unbearably hot and when we complained a second time they said we should have called the front desk yet again.
No compensation was offered then a bag of cookies was given upon our departure.
Tiny dark unbearable room - awful breakfast.
Overly scented entryway.

A great place to stay for a business trip!!

Great Hotel but like a lot of places has a very slight unpleasant odour at times. The Hotel is right next to Sea World Metro station that connects you to the city and the surroundings have a lot to offer in terms of what to do after work hours. Overall the staff are great, they speak English, the rooms are cleaned daily and there's no noise in the mornings or at night. Finally, although not advertised, the hotels Wi-Fi, although generally slow, is a VPN connection, meaning you can access sites otherwise blocked inside China.

The room was cozy and comfortable. The environment around the hotel was nice, too. Neat and clean. Located near subway station, and ferry terminal where you can trip directly to Hong Kong airport. If your goal is not on experiencing traditional Chinese street, it would be the best pick.

Good hotel in a fantastic location

I stayed in this hotel for 7 days and my stay was very good. However the rooms do not have the microwave and hence becomes very difficult for vegetarian like me. However the hotel people allowed me to use the restaurant for heating my food packets, very nice of them!

The rooms were very good and clean. However the carpets were not up to the mark and one does not feel that they are very clean.

Good value for money in an excellent location.

Honlux is excellently situated. Five minutes from Shekou Ferry Port and in the middle of the 'Sea world' area. There are scores of restaurants and bars with a choice of food to suit everyone.
The hotel itself is very good, very friendly staff who are extremely helpful in making sure you can get around by taxi etc. Rooms are clean and well equipped, free wi-fi is available (not the speediest but not too bad).

In my opinion at least its a very good choice of hotel for business or leisure

A nice place to stay in a great location

The Honlux Apartments were a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect the quality of the rooms to be as good as it was.

They are located very conveniently adjacent to Sea Worlds Main square and the MTR Station. There is a great choice of places to eat and drink within a couple of minutes walking distance.

The outside of the building looks a little old and scratty, but once inside my impressions changed significantly. I had a warm welcome from the receptionist in a very bright and well appointed reception area. I was quickly in my room which was very comfortable and well appointed.

The bathroom was small, but adequate with the shower being over the bathtub and quite high to step into.

For the price paid I was very happy with the Honlux Apartments and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Honlux - good hotel for visiting Shekou

Was in Shenzhen for business, and wanted to stay in Shekou for the weekend. The Honlux was very convenient, since it is right at the Seaworld subway stop.
Hotel was spotless, and the staff very helpful and skilled in English. Internet service was good. The crowd is a little noisy in the evening, but everything shuts down at 11pm, so it is not a problem. I will certainly stay there again.

Good Hotel for Business or Pleasure

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and it has never disappointed. It is in an excellent location with scores of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is average at best but with so many other options right on the doorstep this really isn't a problem.
Good hotel in a good area, happy to recommend it.

Nice Hotel in a wonderful location

I travel every 6 months to Shenzhen for business and chose Shekou since there is a lot of international restaurants around. This hotel is located in the Sea World plaza which is great place full of international restaurant and stores.
The hotel staff is very kind. The hotel rooms are ok for the price.

i paid for 3 nights
i did checkout before the last night because i was going to guangzhou
in the end i missed the train
so i asked the hotel if they can give back the room i paid but by mistake i did check out to early

they wanted me to pay again for that night
i didnt go back to this hotel
i had this story with a other hotel once, and the were happy to give me back the room i paid

i come every year afew times to shenzhen and its the first time im in this hotel

its a shame they do a silly mistakes with there service it just will make people not want to come to the hotel again

Overall adequate for the location and price. Building work going on around makes it noisy, but my biggest issue is the mis-representation, both on Hotels.com and on the Hotel web-site. It clearly stated Free Parking, Thsi is just not true. Parking has to be paid for extra.

Surprisingly clean and comfortable

The hotel is inconspicuous but the room I stayed in was surprisingly clean and beddings very comfortable. Toilet was clean and well equipped. Charge for breakfast very reasonable (38 yuan) but the quality and choices of food under expectation. Location is good with plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and very near to the ferry terminal. I will make it a must when I have to stay overnight in the Shekou area.

Great little hotel, but disappointing dining

Really nice hotel, nice room with good facilities and great service. For example they helped me hook up my laptop to the TV screen and speakers, and when I checked in and asked if my room had a king size bed, it only had twin queen beds. I went out for dinner and when I returned the beds had magically been zipped together and turned into a king size. I didn't notice at first as they'd replaced all my clothes and stuff straight back where they were! However, there is no bar as such (just the dining room, which closes at 9) and the staff are clearly not familiar with western standards. Shame, as the dining room is quite nicely decorated but barely used. Would love to go back, but as a foreign business traveller I need better in-house catering options.

Very impressed with location at Seaworld which has a myriad of bars and restaurants, the area has undergone a massive facelift and this hotel offers excellent value for money. It's very unassuming and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms.

The hotel is very clean, wonderful staff, and great location. The one big negative is also the location. It is located on the Sea World square where everybody goes. The single pane windows do not offer enough sound proof from the noise on the square. If you stay here ask for street side room.

Clean and convenient with no hassles

I booked one of their higher end rooms and found it clean, up to date and a nice experience. My room was on the \"street\" side of the hotel, but there were no problems with noise. It is very convenient to many \"Western\" style restaurants and lots of entertainment in the Sea World area. I was flying out of the Hong Kong airport the next morning via the Shekou Ferry terminal and found there were always taxis available in front. It is also very close to a subway station.
