Incredible place! The space was huge and so comfortable. I just wish we had more time there. We were there at 1 but couldn’t check in until 4 which was unfortunate as it would have been nice to enjoy the apartment longer and have time at the pool. Next time we will stay for a few more nights!

We were 5 adults using a 3 bedroom house for 4 sleeps Feb 2026. Location is great. Easy parking. House had a great layout. —-We had issues with several things; the listing said daily housekeeping at checkin we were told housekeeping was every 3 days, the fireplace (electric) in the listing was locked off, there were only blankets in 2 bedrooms (first night I slept dressed because reception was closed, the main power for heating was locked off (we had no heat the first night, there was not enough hot water for 5 morning showers, the kitchen appliances need repair.

We enjoyed the tranquil and beautifully decorated condo. The two bedroom two story condo was very spacious, clean, and the balcony views were spectacular. Our condo had two balconies and rooftop access. The kitchen is spacious and well supplied for cooking or you can go out to dinner. Lots of great restaurants to choose from within walking distance. The king size bed was very comfortable. Also, within walking distance you can enjoy beautiful beaches. Staff provided excellent service, they were professional, friendly, and attentive. We highly recommend NAU Salema Beach Village, especially if you have a family.

We had a pleasant stay, but for the amount of money I paid for a sea-facing unit, I expected higher quality. The unit wasn’t up to hotel cleanliness standards. There was food in the kitchen drain when we arrived, and hair on the floor, and the glass veranda railing was filthy. The bathroom counter had toothpaste stains. The furniture felt shabby. My son’s single bed had a vinyl headboard that shedded into his sheets. The nightstands were chipped and the bedside rug visibly stained. None of this would bother me if I hadn’t opted to pay top dollar for a more “luxurious” stay. The location is superb, with a stunning view. Staff were friendly and responsive. But we wouldn’t go back.

This resort is a beautiful hidden gem in Salema. Everything was perfect. The people are so friendly. Our room was cleaned everyday and we were shuttled everywhere with a quick call to the main reception, free of charge. It was quite the service. The ocean was beautiful. I can’t wait to go back with the family.

Beaytiful apartments with everything we needed. Love the pool. It was a bit cold. The shuttle to the town was so quick, easy and convenient. The man driving it was so nice. Reception open 24hr and complimentary beach towels 👍👍

Extremely disappointing experience. They mistakenly charged my credit card $670 twice, totaling $1,340, despite the fact that our stay had already been paid in full using a different debit card. The card they charged was only meant to be held for incidental charges—specifically for water, which wasn’t even complimentary and should have cost no more than $10. To make matters worse, we’ve yet to receive a refund, and customer service was incredibly unhelpful, with no one available who could clearly communicate in English. I would not recommend this place based on how poorly the issue was handled. There was said to be no managers available in the office to talk. This put a burden on the rest of our trip.

What I liked was location walking distance to beach and a few restaurants. What I didn’t like is I would like some dining or breakfast accommodations at the resort in the event it’s raining and you don’t want to walk down to the other dining options. Small market nearby as well.

The location is lovely - very quiet and peaceful in early April. The accommodation was in very good condition and comfortable. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We arrived well before check in time and although the house wasn't ready yet, we were told we could use the facilities (pool, etc.)

The accommodation we had (sea view) happened to be right at the bottom of the complex nearest the village, which was perfect for us as we mainly wanted to go to the restaurants, etc. and beach, but would have been more difficult if we'd been wanting to use the pool - too cold at this time of year for most of us! They did offer a shuttle up the hill whenever we wanted, though we didn't need to use this.

Only slightly frustrating issue was after we'd left. As we checked out, I told the man on reception that I'd accidentally broken a wine glass while washing up. He said that as it was an accident, they wouldn't charge us. I think a single broken wine glass can be considered fair wear and tear anyway but I was fully prepared to have to pay for it, so I appreciated this gesture. What I didn't appreciate was then receiving a phone call while in the airport saying that housekeeping had 'discovered' that I'd broken a wine glass and that they would need me to authorise a €7.50 charge. A bit of a sour note to end the holiday on, sadly.
I still would recommend this accommodation and we would stay again - just be very careful with the wine glasses on the stone worktops!

Cons: needs directions how to work things such as dishwasher, fireplace, temperature controls and washing machine. Lots of stais to haul your suitcase up to the villa. It was off season so reception staff not readily available to answer questions.

Lovely villa with beach nearby

It was our second time staying here. This time we decided to bring the whole family including 2 grandchildren under 5 yrs old. as before, the villa was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with high chair, cot and stairgate. Staff are excellent, especially David. They even did cleaning and changing sheets on Xmas Day! The location is amazing with beach nearby.

Salema is so very beautiful. Our villa had three different levels to view the town including a spiral staircase to the rooftop which was perfect for viewing the star-filled sky as well as gorgeous sunrise over the water. The beach is a short walk away and there is a wonderful local pastry shop run by Marta (I believe that was her name) not too far away with very reasonable and delicious baked goods. The only negative was that our next door neighbors were loud (but it was also New Year’s Eve so it was understandable). We really loved our stay besides that. Welcoming the new year in Salema and spending the first day of the new year at the beach was a perfect start to 2025.

Nasty mold smell in bathroom. A summer stay would be great. Walkable beach is beautiful & there’s a great sushi restaurant.

Lacking outside furniture and lovely roof terrace just has old paint bucket's and no furniture.

The Best Accommodations in Salema, Portugal

We were so pleasantly surprised how nice our accommodations were and the location was wonderful! The front desk was extremely nice and helpful! Only once did they miscalculate on dinner reservations. We were advised we didn't need them, but I would recommend always request they be made! I would highly recommend NAU Salema Beach Village! You won't be disappointed😉

The views from your balcony: incredible. You really feel the peace & beach from every room.Easy walk to 7 local restaurants. All a bit different and delicious.The rooms are clean and units spacious. Beds, linens, towels and furniture all comfortable and well kept. It was really nice to have a ride back up from the beach or dinner whenever we called we didn’t use the pool but the facility was nice with plenty of seating and lounging chairs. The NAU Selema facility was great. The staff were friendly. We stayed in a two-bedroom sea view townhouse with comfortable rooms and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking. It’s just a 5-minute downhill walk to the beach, and they offer a free convenient shuttle service for drop-off and pick-up. The Selema town is small and charming, with plenty of restaurants around the beach—just be sure to make reservations during peak season. Lagos is only a 20-minute drive away. I would stay here again!

We loved NAU beach village, but didn’t realise the location of the sea view villas meant that you need to get the complimentary buggy to the swimming pool! Salema is on one big hill, but it’s great that NAU do the buggy service for the beach as well. Staff are super friendly and the accommodation is fab.

Amazing Sea View Villa

We had an amazing stay in a 2-bedroom sea view villa. The view was spectacular. Our villa was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were two large terraces from which we enjoyed the view. Very short walk into town. We took advantage of the free shuttle to the pool area. The pool was lovely, with plenty of lounge chairs and it was never too crowded. The staff were friendly and very polite. We would love to stay here again.

Amazing views - great property

Family stay in a 3 bedroom. The views were amazing from our unit. This was the end of our 12 day trip in Portugal, we enjoyed the local area of pool, beach and great restaurants and relaxed. Property is spread out but they are accommodating with picking you up and taking you into town or to the pool. Perfect way to end our vacation.

Stayed there for one night: unit was tired and several things did not work properly - most notably the air conditioning. In addition, the power went off in the middle of the night and as a result security lights went on in all the rooms, waking us up. I let the front desk know of all the issues and received no adequate response. Would not stay again.

The pool area was nice but was limited on umbrellas from the heat and cut short our time by the pool. We did leave some food out and had ants on the kitchen counter the next morning.

Loved the property. It’s in a quiet peaceful setting. The room is essentially a condo with bedrooms, kitchen, dining and living room. Lots of access to outdoor spaces. Only complaints would be parking for our unit was further away and we had to drag our luggage down a hill. The resort isn’t far from the beach but it’s not close. They offer a shuttle which is nice but you have to call and wait. Parking at the beach is tough but it appears the town is building more parking so that should improve. It’s a very small quiet area which is charming but there is zero to do in the area. We had to drive 20 mins to get groceries. So plan ahead for that. Lastly the pool hours are 10am to 7pm. Would like to see longer hours.

Great condos. Our had a great view, was clean and functional. It had great Wifi too all around the unit.

Kitchen was decently stocked, but there were just cutlery, pots, pan and dishes (wish there were more dishes so you didn't have wash them each time). It come with some dishwasher soap, but no washing machine one. Also no salt, pepper, oil.... so if you are planning to cook a lot from scratch you'd have to buy everything. there is a little market down the street, and real grocery stores a few miles away. you can easily walk to town (it's downhill, then uphill) and dine out or take out

Burgau is small but lovely and has much to offer, including good restaurants, bars and friendly locals, as well as links to the public transport network.

It is 10 km from Lagos, with its shopping venues and nightspots, and Faro Airport is 98 km away. This charming family-friendly beach hotel comprises a total of 43 bedrooms, all en suite.
