It’s a very old building. I can see that they try to keep it up, but my mini fridge wasn’t working properly. The door to the fridge was crooked. The bathroom mirror has black marks. The air conditioning kept blowing air: it doesn’t seem to be any adjustment. The sink was old and drainage was covered with brown mold or it may be old.

Clean, inexpensive, but older

It was clean and efficient but clearly in need of updates. An older hotel with peeling wallpaper and odd stained counters. But you could tell it was clean. Enough space for one person and not cramped except in the toilet/shower area. Definitely a room for one person. Very kind staff. I would stay again as a solo traveler because it’s efficient and just a bed to sleep. And a great price.

You get what you pay for with this type of hotel. The location is good, and from Ekoda station you can get to Ikebukuro quite easily.

If you want your room to be cleaned the price is currently 3000 yen each time. For extras such as more towels you have to pay.

Nearby are convenience stores, supermarkets and restaurants. During my stay, an earthquake happened and then someone set off the fire-alarm. The night staff were professional, but not many people had any idea what to do.

The staff during the daytime are friendly and know some English. However, the staff finish at 6 pm so reach out before if you arrive late.

The room is a kind of outdated, but the room is clean and efficient.
This property provides no cleaning or maid services if you stay consecutive nights. You have to take dirty towels to the front desk for exchanging to clean one. Also you have to take your trash to the trash room. The room has the electric vacuum which you can clean the floor anytime you need.
The room rates were very reasonable and I was happy to stay this property.

Flexstay Inn Ekoda

This was my second reservation with FlexstayInn Ekoda. Despite the Corona virus pandemic, I wasn't disappointed.

Service, professionalism and cleanliness were all excellent. Hand disinfectant was always available in the lobby. The on-site laundry room was clean and well lit.

FlexstayInn Ekoda is located a five minute walk from Ekoda Ginza (江古田銀座 = shopping street).

Lawson's and Family Mart convenience stores are nearby (two or three doors down and across the street respectively), but I would first recommend either the My Basket Ekoda Sakaecho (Aeon) a few doors down or the Maruman Store directly across from Ekoda Station's south exit. My Basket and Maruman offer better supermarket selections and volume pricing compared to the convenience stores. TLDR: buy green tea, Mitsuya cider, umeshu, shochu, prepared meals and anything else at My Basket or Maruman for less.

Despite its size, Ekoda has many eating options including Indian and Japanese curry, ramen, bakeries, patissieries, izakayas, etc. All of them within five to 10 minutes walking distance from FlexstayInn Ekoda.

Ekoda Station is within 15 minutes walking distance. From Ekoda Station, you are three stops to Ikebukuro Station which opens your rail options considerably.

I can highly recommend FlexstayInn Ekoda. If you're looking for accomodation in an urban Tokyo setting without the overly dense atmosphere, Ekoda is a good choice.

For the price I can't complain. Room was small but not unexpected. There is some water damage on the wallpaper around the bath. However the staff were nice, and Ekoda turned out to be a lovely area with easy access to Tokyo city.

It was good to get a room and bathroom all to myself for such a good price in Tokyo (it was at par with some capsule hotels).

Very close to station. Located in a quiet neighbourhood with a lot of food choices available. If you have a late checkin, send a message to hotel and they will provide you with instructions. Their late checkin service was pretty quick. I called for check-in and there was someone available within 1 min. So fast!!

I loved staying here. The room was quite small, which made it difficult to navigate around with all our suitcases and my friend’s broken leg, but other than that it was wonderful. It was very clean. Ekoda is a lovely, quiet area, but really close to the station, and we could reach Shibuya in less than 20 minutes. Lots of shops and restaurants close by- there’s a 24hr Lawson right next door which was really handy!! In the room there was a microwave and a fridge, as well as other cooking utensils and a little sink - almost like a mini studio apartment. In the hotel there is also an area with vending machines and tables. Staff were really friendly at check in/out. I experienced my first earthquake staying in this hotel - felt very safe as the building is sturdy. Would definitely stay here again if in Tokyo.

Small but convenient

It was a six minute walk away from the church where I was attending a conference, and also really close to Ekoda station. After about a 7 minute train ride, I was connected to Ikebukuro and the rest of lively Tokyo. Really convenient location. There were also plenty of restaurants around. The accommodations are very much what you would expect from a budget hotel: minimal, a little narrow, bathroom set-up a little awkward. But I really couldn't beat the price or location.

Generally, the room was good, and the venue, being close to the station, suited my purpose well. One point of concern was the small cabinet above the hand basin. As I am tall, I had to bend around and down to wash my face or brush my teeth. Fortunately, I didn't bump my head. Otherwise, the stay was quite pleasant and they even had overseas news stations within the usual TV channel selection.

The hotel is convenient and value for money !

I stayed for 8D/7N, the charge is reasonable. Although no housekeeping but the box and toilet tissues and the shaver are available for collection eaveryday. The hotel is near the JR and ot takes about 4 minutes on foot ! There are supermarkets and restaurants and coffee shops aroUnd there. It takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Narita airport to Ekoda !

This place is 5-10 minute walk away from stations nearby to take you towards central Tokyo within 30-45min. There are nearby places to eat and convenience stores available nearby. The internet is pretty fast and was able to watch Netflix since there is only one English channel to watch during the downtime. A decent hotel for the budget minded. The room included a refrigerator, microwave, and additional cooking pot if you want to make hot noodle soup.

Nice hotel, very close to areas I was needed.

Great hotel, with very friendly staff. 30-15 minutes from 2 train station, a lot of shopping and great restaurant. Another great shopping area is by the Musashi University, 57-23410 minutes walk. In room you have everything for a very comfortable living, microwave, refrigerator. .. I will stay in this hotel in my future traveling.

There was a 24 hour grocery store right next to the hotel for late night snacks. The hotel was further from Tokyo station then I would have liked but my experience there was good overall.

I had a satisfactory stay here. For someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend on a fancy place, but does not want a capsule hotel or shared bathroom either, this works out well. I personally hate room service, so I enjoyed that there wasn't any. The room is probably better for 1 person size wise, but can work out for 2 people if you are both small

Clean and perfect for what I was after!!! Great district plenty of coffee shops and convenience stores and the station is close by! The room was a little dated but very clean and the hotel staff so very lovely helpful and polite. Travelled to many areas throughout the city from this base and loved every minute!! It didn't seem to take any time at all!!! Fab!

convenient hotel close to Toei subway line

The hotel is not in the center, but it is close to the Toei subway line, and areas such as Shinjuku or Harajuku can be reached within 30 minutes. It is clean, and it has a small kitchenette (microwave, some cutlery and dishes, pots, a refrigerator and a hot plate). It is in a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood, and it may appeal to the budget oriented traveler.

I'd stay here again!

I selected this hotel because of location and after reading the reviews. It is clean and the staff helpful. The room is small (I was staying alone) but very sufficient. There is free wifi.
Oh, if it's a problem: the bathroom in my room required me to step up into it. Also, my refrigerator was not turned to cool; check yours.
Finally, there are 3 convenience stores that sell food and breakfast nearby plus several udon restaurants.

I'm satisfied. Room was clean and comfort. it was pretty good overall. Even though I booked smoking room, there was no unpleasant scent. Great location, nice and quiet place.
One thing I want to say is this. Booking confirmation mail said the hotel main door will be closed after 6:00 P.M and I was supposed to have instruction to get in. however, I did not receive anything from hotel. Fortunately, side door was opening and I was able to get into hotel. Staff was very kind but just opening side door could be insecure.

道路沿いの部屋に宿泊でしたが、強く雨が降っていたのでホテルの中で、チェックイン後すごく体や荷物が濡れてしまった。普通のマンションの外にある非常階段の前の部屋です。足元も滑ります。
写真と実際の部屋が全く違い、かなり古く、棚からトゲが出ていた。
枕に海外の漬物の匂いが染み付いていた。
10時チェックアウトですが、ホテル隣接地が工事中のため8時少し前から工事で大きな音や振動が始まり、ゆっくりできなかった。
夜遅くについて、乳液や化粧水などのアメニティが一切ないとわかり困った（女性）

18時までにチェックインできない場合は連絡が必要とのことです。
私は時間内にチェックイン出来たのでフロントで通常の対応をしてもらえました。スタッフの方は親切丁寧に対応してくれました。
お部屋は少し古いつくりですが清潔でした。バス・トイレとは別の場所に手洗い場があって、使いやすかったです。
お部屋入り口の横にクローゼットがありましたが、着替えなどの荷物を置くとなると手が届くには遠いので、別でバゲージラックが欲しいなと思いました。
充電ケーブルが各部屋に置いてあるのは便利でした。しかし同行した人間の部屋の充電ケーブルが壊れていたのか使えなかったのでそこが残念でした。

施設が古く、壁の設備口などを雑に塞いだ跡が見えるなど整っていない部分もあるが、清潔で行き届いた手入れがされていた。
バスタブの小ささ、洗面台付近にタオル掛けがない、トイレが流れにくいなど水回りはやや使いにくい。
部屋のコンセントの位置が偏っているため、スマホを枕元に置いて充電しながら寝ることができない、鏡を見ながら髪を乾かそうとするとドライヤーのコードがギリ足りないなど、不便を感じた。
周辺はコンビニだけでなくファストフードや居酒屋、ドラッグストア等が充実しており、連泊に便利だった。

立地とコスパはとても良かったです。ベッドも綺麗でした。施設が古いのかトイレの便座は小さく、湯舟も狭いためシャワーをしているときにカーテンが体に張り付いて少し気持ち悪かったです。あと洗面所の上に戸棚があるのですが低い位置にあるので１７５㎝の私は戸棚の角に何回も頭をぶつけました。ぶつけるたびに悶絶して血がでていないか確認したくらいですのでせめて安全上コーナーにクッションをつけてほしいです。

駅から距離はあるものの、アパートのような作りでレンジもガスも冷蔵庫もあり、宿泊費用ははとてもリーズナブルだった。

池袋などに比べ江古田は小さな駅で改札からホテルまでの実質距離が近くて良い。駅周辺、ホテル周辺に飲食店がそこそこ在る。隣がローソンで便利。フロントは18時までだが以降も出入りはできる。電子レンジが便利。ユニットバスは小さく大柄な人には厳しい。ベッドはセミダブルで部屋も狭くはない。リーズナブルなビジネスホテルと言える。
