We picked this hotel for the waterparks. Our kids had a blast and loved the pools. They also loved that they were able to tie dye a t-shirt during our stay. I was impressed with the different activities available each day.
We found several bugs in our room and the bathroom was very dated. The bathroom had grout missing all in the shower, which made it look dirty. The bugs just had me on edge and I wore shoes inside the whole time. I am assuming this is all hotels now, but this is our second stay here and I can say that the smell of weed was very prominent during both trips. We smelt it in the common areas as well as on our balcony. It just takes away from the family atmosphere.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, beachfront, amenities including indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs, water slides, and lazy river, game area with ping pong, close parking, 2 sinks in room, normal fridge/stove, comfy bed, great location. Cons: Took 15 mins for hot water to heat up in shower and sink. Purple glitter all over elevator entrance near spa door (was never vacuumed and tracked everywhere). Had to ask for extra towels twice per not enough for 3 people (but they were quick to give them). Only one tiny bar of soap for 3 people (but when I asked for 2 more, they dropped them by within 10 minutes).

There were stains on the sheets of the bed. We were expecting more bang for our buck as people were vaping everywhere and things were dirty. I mean, we couldn’t even get ping-pong balls for the ping-pong table, and I certainly didn’t feel that it was near as clean as the price we had to pay.

Def a 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone that speaks on staying in the myrtle beach area. So much fun for the kids where you dont have to leave the hotel. They have a restaurant inside the hotel and plenty of activities for kids to do through out the stay,sleeps very good. Me and my grandkids definitely enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon.

This is our second family trip to Dunes Village resort. We have been pleased both times. We stayed in the two bedroom suite on this occasion. The suite was very well set up with plenty of room. The washer and dryer in the suite was a plus. There were pots, pans, dishes, cups, and utensils provided. The suite was clean. The balcony was very nice to have with a great ocean view. If you want a family friendly, more low key area on Mrtyle Beach, this is the place for you. With everything right there as far as Cafe, restaurant, gift shop, water parks, and pools in both towers, you never have to leave and if you do there are so many great restaurants and shops to enjoy within driving distance. It's also close proximity to the airport.

This experience was great I was super exited to stay here because my Family and I came to Dukes Village every summer when I was growing up and the hospitality and hotel has always been a 10/10. The only issue I have from this trip was, in one of the towers there was only one actively and effectively working elevator on the hallway that we were staying on and it was Memorial Day weekend families coming and going it was chaotic. Luckily a house worker came and escorted us to another hall with two working elevators. All and all we can’t wait to come back.!

The resort looks beautiful from the outside and has great amenities like heated pools, water parks, and an on-site restaurant, which made the stay enjoyable for the kids. The beds were comfortable and the shower had good hot water. However, the rooms are extremely outdated and really need renovation. Cleanliness was also disappointing. When we arrived, the room looked tidy at first, but the floors were very dirty — my kids walked barefoot for a few minutes and their feet turned black. We reported it to the front desk, but nobody came to clean or seemed to care. We also found small roaches in the room several nights during our stay. We informed the staff, and they said they would spray, but I’m not sure they actually did anything.
Housekeeping service was frustrating as well. It was difficult to get extra towels or clean sheets, and one night I had to call the front desk three times and wait over an hour just to get a blanket for my daughter.
Another downside was the kitchen setup. It was extremely basic — no salt, oil, or simple cooking essentials, and there wasn’t even a decent knife to cut fruit for my child.
Overall, this resort has potential and nice family-friendly features, but the poor cleanliness, outdated rooms, lack of maintenance, and disappointing customer service are the reasons for my rating.

The place is good mostly, but the cleanliness was a big issue. Our crawling baby had black knees and black feet after crawling around for just a few minutes in the room. The floor was very dirty. There was a large wad of hair in the floor next to the TV and also a lot of crumbs lying around. So the floor seemed not to be swept or mopped.
The other big issue for us was that the dishwasher was basically nonfunctional. The racks were rusted out in multiple places so there were always rust flecks in the washer, which can’t be safe or sanitary. The detergent cup wouldn’t stay shut properly so dish detergent would just fall out when you closed the door, and the cycle knob would get stuck about 1/2 way through a cycle causing the dishwasher to shut down till you bumped the knob. Otherwise it seemed to be a great place. The pools seemed nice and well kept and the location right at the beach is fantastic. Just if it would have been clean I would give 5 stars.

All was nice at the resort! However did not sleep at all, the noise where the bedrooms are closest to the road are extremely noisy and nothing to drown out the noise, I recommend getting air machines in each unit! Also, coffee pot we had looked like it was falling apart, and like it was 15 years aloof although it did work, was very worn and rusty! Otherwise nice resort

The ladies at the front desk are not welcoming or nice unfortunately. One took my i.d and then argued “she did not have it” when she in fact did, and ended up giving it back. We saw a roach in our room the second night we stayed. The pool tables they advertised online are ran down and the pool sticks are broken with no tips on them. It wasn’t an absolute horrible stay as my kid enjoyed the water park, but i definitely wouldn’t spend the money i spent to stay here again.

I’m not one to write reviews but I feel it’s necessary to help prevent another family from being subjected to this hotel. I’ll start by saying something positive the experience we had with everything EXCEPT the room itself was good all the way up to great. The water park on property the pools the jacuzzi the beach access all good with the water park being great for the kids! (They had a blast) the room however! Wow. It was soooooooo bad. It smelled like vomit & mold probably because of all the vomit & mold in the room, the extra guest we didn’t ask for aka the large amount of cockroaches were definitely a problem. The room was extremely nasty pubic hair in the bathroom as well as roaches. You do NOT want to walk in this hotel room barefoot or your feet will be black instantly. I dare not use the oven or stove because the bugs had taken that over as their home base so cooking of any kind was out that includes the microwave & unfortunately the fridge too! So basically no kitchen. I wish the room was redeemed by the waterpark but sadly it just wasn’t enough to make up for the deplorable conditions festering in the room itself, if you’re looking for a fun hotel with clean rooms PLEASE look elsewhere.

I liked the breakfast buffet! What I didn’t like was the following: 1st of all the rooms compared to the pics on the website are very deceiving. Once we checked in and inspected the room the towels and wash clothes were dingy not white and clean looking. We went out and purchased our own. The stove , one of the eyes was burnt out. And sparked when you turned it on. The siding door, the latch was broken. Rooms need some serious upgrades! We pulled up to check in. There’s a lady out side beating up a car with a tire iron…. This resort focuses upon family-related activities. Rooms and grounds are very clean. Service staff are wonderful and attentive. Guests should be aware that many services can be a la carte. For example, the resort area of the beach is lined with beach chairs and umbrellas, which one can rent for around $50 per day, but guests can supply their own. At the same time I have to say, there is a little something for eveyone. I wound recommend this resort. It is in an affluent area of MB, and a great value for what the resort has to offer.

I loved everything about the property. I love the fact that there's a kitchen and I took advantage of that. I was sold at the lazy river and hot tub. So relaxing. So much to do on the resort, especially if you have kids, they will have a blast. I'm glad the water park was enclosed for now because there was a day when there was thunderstorms and chilly weather, especially at night. The only thing I wasn't aware of was there was 2 buildings and the Uber dropped me off at 5200 and when I checked in I was told I was in the other building which I saw it had its own desk and lobby on the 2nd floor. I had to walk over with all my luggage. The lady at check in was very courteous and helpful. This was my first time in Myrtle beach and I will definitely be back

The room had cockroaches in both bathrooms. The secondary bathroom had no hot water.. called the front desk was told that somebody would come at 7:30 AM. Nobody ever showed up. We rented a cabana for Friday and Saturday. Could not use the TV because of no remote asked front desk several times for one never received one.. the fan was broke and we had to leave each day at 2 o’clock due to the landscapers working directly behind our heads with power tools.

Our stay in the suit wasn’t pleasant. Starting with the cleaning, outside, it looks like a clean, nice, and modern resort, but in the inside it appeared like an old building, especially in our room. Our room wasn’t as clean as we would’ve liked, as it contained dust, the bedroom was humid, in the shower, we saw black cracks, and we had to take a shower with sandals. Our first night was awful, as we kept hearing people from almost everywhere screaming and yelling. We also heard that this was a smoke-free resort, but we would smell and see that our neighbors would smoke weed and mariguana. The vending machines didn’t work at all when we wanted a snack.

If you are a senior pick out of season times. This resort is \"family focused\" and it is difficult to enjoy the ammenities when families flood in. There is some walkable eateries nearby. Grocery store about a mile away. Coffee shop inside but hours vary. Not a place for peace and quiet. Rooms large but no daily housekeeping. Outdoor pools not heated. Require transportation to get around. Public bus stops at 52nd ave.

Its a nice resort my only complaint was the morning after checkin a guy was right outside our room using a drill in the wall which woke us up at 7am and we had a service dog with us who was spooked by the sound but then outside our balcony door by the pool at 8am was two maintenance guys using leaf blowers and weed eaters so we could not get any sleep due to all the noise i did bring this to the attention of front desk and they did offer us 2 free nights on them which was more then fair to me we did however enjoy our room it was clean for the most part we did notice paint missing from diff spots on the walls and door and we noticed a broken spot on the frame of the mirror in the bathroom but over all it was a nice place they have a big indoor water park for kids with slides and a lazy river and hot tub which we didn't get to use due to all the activities we had planned with our son also at check in they charge you an amenities fee of $100 which is not on the website you won't know about it until you arrive on site i think things like that should be posted on the website or told about it when booking that way folks can plan accordingly

Our room was in need of updating and repair. Furniture was very worn and the mattress was uncomfortable. Hairdryer and some outlets didn't work. There was a poorly patched hole in the bathroom wall. We were on the 12th floor and one of the elevators was down for more than 1 day.
The staff at the breakfast buffet and at the coffee shop were very friendly and helpful. However, the quality of the food was very mediocre. The outdoor pool was not heated, and we could not enjoy it in March. The indoor pool was crowded, often with rambunctious older kids. The lifeguard/security did eventually clear the pool to make it more pleasant for all.
The location of this hotel is great and it offers a lot of amenities for families. Hopefully the interior of the property will be updated so that the quality of stay better matches the price charged in the future. We will likely look for other options next trip.

Dunes Village was ok. If you have a big family with children maybe 14 and under this would be a good place for you because of the water parks, the lazy river and the pools outside for the smaller kids. The hotel needs to be renovated all over. We were in room 142 and the bathroom def needs upgrading really bad, the top cover had a few stains on it, they didn’t clean that well bc the tub had hair in it, not chunks but pieces to where you can tell they did a half job cleaning. I was in town for the weekend for a basketball tournament and just wanted my son to be around with his teammates. Overall I didn’t really care for the hotel. I probably won’t stay here again!!

The one thing I didnt like was that we had to leave one building to go to another in order to eat breakfast, and we had to pay for that. Other than that, a nice place for the family.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom double queen oceanfront suite. It had everything we needed for a weekend beach trip with 3 under 3 and the view was amazing. The hotel was sold out but we never had trouble waiting for elevators even though we were on the 14th floor.
Our toddlers had a blast and were able to enjoy the amenities. I saw ZERO roaches and we used the kitchen frequently. We felt the price was very reasonable for what is included. We will definitely be back!

This was absolutely perfect for our family with kids. The pools, the beach and games was enough to keep everyone entertained our entire stay. It was close enough to the more touristy area but far enough away that was safe and much less people. I would 100% stay here again with our family. Rooms were clean and had many amenities to allow to save money on going out to eat.

Customer service was five stars. The staff was very helpful and professional. My view of the oceanfront was spectacular and the room was spacious. However, the bathroom space was extremely small. Our room key did not work for the parking garage doors, which was an inconvenience. Other than my son did enjoy the pool area. The other guests were respectful and that’s always a plus. I would stay here again.
