Have to say that i'd read mixed reviews of this hotel previously but decided to see for myself. Quite honestly i wouldn't bother to return. Whilst the hotel itself is quite old it is being improved, that said my main issue with the hotel is the lack of service and the rules! This hotel could easily be great if the management made some simple changes, firstly remind the staff that it's their job to look after guests. I asked for an iron and was told i had it wasn't possible! It turns out there's one iron available for the entire hotel and it's only available at set hours. I'd have put my shirts in for pressing and paid but the hotel doesn't offer a laundry service!!! Then there's the rules that make you feel like a teenager at a youth hostel! The fact they have an outdoor swimming pool is pointless as you can't actually enjoy it. There's no drinks service there and you can't wear swimming shorts! For some reason the hotel are also extremely forceful about the fact that you must get changed in your room before going the pool (no idea why). WiFi requires reception to produce a print out which they seem to do reluctantly, then once you have it the WiFi is pretty poor anyway.

Thalacap is a nice hotel but the rooms are very basics. The restaurant was nothing special and quite pricey for what it is. We ended up eating in town. The breakfast was really nice. The facilities are great and we really enjoyed our stay. I would have more in the gym as it is extremely basic again. The instructor Lionel was very friendly and really helpful.
The Wifi was a joke and each time you have to enter the code, it wasn't working all the time.

interesting hotel halfway between a rehabilitation centre and a spa. We were only staying one night, but it could not be described as atmospheric or intimate. The decor was tired and in need of updating, especially the lifts, corridors etc. Dark corridors lit only by timer lights, and if you were to slow getting to your room you were plunged into darkness. Wonderful views over the bay, friendly reception staff.

although I had a previous good experience with it, this one turned to disaster. The reception women were fine, but the restaurant staff left a lot to desire. One waiter, in particular, in his early 40's was rude, and tried to up my bill with a magnum wine, I never ordered.

terrible experience with Restaurant staff, 2 waiters in particular, a young woman, who could improve her customer relations skills, and a male waiter(38 - 40 y.o.), extremely nasty, and on top of that tried to overcharge us, by including a magnum bottle of wine we did not order. I stayed there once before, and it was fine. But, not this time, although, the staff at the reception was fine, the young women working there were very pleasant.

The hotel is in an absolutely beautiful town. It is a bit of a hike up a hill from the town center. We were there for the town, not the hotel's spa, and so that aspect was lost on us. It just lent the hotel a funny chemical smell. The staff were generally helpful, but the place wasn't the best fit for tourists looking for the Banyuls-sur-Mer experience.

Hotel - well its a Spa and caters mainly for short stay visitors. The hotel is set up a hill just outside the town. Very step and wynding road and the shortcut from the town via steeps is even stepper! The hotel has a limited choice on its evening menu.

Town is very pleasant and if traveling around the area the local bus is only 1euro to any local destination.

Je suis revenue avec plaisir dans cet hôtel que je connais depuis 9 ans. J'ai constaté avec plaisir que beaucoup de travaux de rénovation avaient été effectués. Je recommande cet endroit car c'est idéal pour se détendre: piscine intérieure chauffée à l'eau de mer, sauna, salle d'aérosol marin... Le restaurant B66 de l'hôtel sert une très bonne cuisine. Tout le personnel est aux petits soins pour les clients. Je reviendrais encore!

Un endroit tout simplement magique avec une vue à couper de souffle ! Le levé du soleil face à la chambre, inoubliable. Le personnel est très accueillant et professionnel. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est très riche et varié, avec des produits d'une extrême fraicheur. La propreté est de rigueur dans tout l'établissement, que ce soit en chambre, dans les espaces communs et aquatiques. Bref je recommande !

Très bon accueil, bon rapport qualité prix du restaurant, par contre les installations sont vieillissantes. La température des piscines était bien trop froide, ainsi que celle du sauna (60°). C'est dommage car les soins sont très bien. Même avec la clim réglée à 24° nous avons eu froid dans la chambre.

Tout est correct coté hôtel et service . Un bémol tout de même : en sortant du parking dont la barrière s\"est fermée automatiquement derrière moi, j'ai éclaté un pneu de mon véhicule en me garant devant l'entrée de l’hôtel , pour laisser passer un camion de livraison et qu'à cet endroit il il a un \"piège à pneus\" pour protéger un bout de trottoir . C'est regrettable car ça a gâché une partie de mon séjour.

WE en couple premiere semaine de septembre, très bon sejour. Piscine exterieure et Thalasso vraiment agréable, petite plage a 5-10min de marche. Hôtel sur les hauteurs de Banyuls donc penser qu'il faut faire un peu de sport pour y monter depuis le centre ville.

Les équipements sont incomplets et vieux.

Es el peor hotel que he estado en mi vida y encima super caro. Pagué más de 100€ noche por una habitación super vieja y horrible, no tiene nada k ver con las fotos que anuncian. Había una tela de araña en el wc y algún que otro pelo y una araña en la habitación. Pedí un cambio de habitación y me dijeron que no habian mas disponibles. Sobre la conexión wifi, podrían poner que no hay, solo hay en recepción y en las habitaciones de al lado y es casi imposible conectarse, una vez lo consigues va super lento.
El restaurante muy bonito y con buenas vistas, la comida normal pero a precios muy por encima de la calidad. Los camareros solo hablan frances.

Séjour agréable d'une nuit . l'accès à la piscine au Hammam et au Sauna est fort appréciable après une journée de ballade ! L’hôtel est un peu défraichi et mériterait un bon rafraichissement. Des choses cassées non réparées ou remplacées. Un très bon petit déjeuner, la vue mer est très agréable, mais attention véhicule obligatoire car isolé. Literie moyenne qui pourrait être largement améliorée.

Al llegar al hotel nos atendieron muy bien, ja que tubimos dificultad con el frances, la habitacion para ser un hotel de 4 * justa pero correcta y limpia. Las vistas desde el balcon excelentes, pedimos vistas al mar y nos la facilitaron, un detalle de parte del hotel que nos gusto mucho . Desayuno justo. Spa ideal para relajarte.

Old hotel on a hill
We stayed for 2 nights in this Spa Hotel, while visiting the wineyards and the town near by. We were initially planning to stay much longer, but they put us in the lowest floor (1000-series) that was on the ground level, and in the far end of the building. This resulted on no view, door to ugly backyard, no Wifi coverage and long walk everytime.. Other rooms (looked empty) had balcony and sea view. Hotel had seen it's best days and was weary but to give correct credit, the room was clean. Hotel had nice parking and the walk to town via the loooog stairs was ok. The spa was also weary and more for the eldery. Anycase we moved to next town and found much better value for money.
