Mend the deep potholes in the drive! Not a good first impression. Staff helpful. Restaurant closed for evening though the hotel seemed full which was a disappointment specially since it was difficult to find a place to eat by the time i arrived at 6:00. Room small but clean and comfortable.

The Skye Inn was a guesthouse at hotel prices. The restaurant was closed the breakfast while good was slow and the staff in their own words were “distracted” Basically it seemed that the student aged staff were operating the Skye Inn without adult management. Perhaps as the season was just starting they were all new on their jobs but the place missed having an experienced adult in charge

The staff was very friendly and responsive. The food was very good. The hotel setting/location was a bit of a surprise, but easy walking distance to town. The hotel caters to groups/small tour buses, but then, most Portree hotels probably do as well. Dinner reservations in town are hard to get, so book in advance.

Well located within city center walking distance. Staff was prompt and friendly. Our room was noisy as the head of the bed was on the wall adjacent to the entrance. Each visit by a guest to their room caused the head board to shake and make a clunking sound. The private driveway from the street was long and had 5- 7 serious chuckholes that were 6-10 inches deep and 1-2 feet across. Most cars had significant mud on their sides avoiding them.

This inn was very warm and inviting. It was just a short walk into town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower could have used some shampoo and conditioner. The food was good, the sticky toffee pudding was delicious.
I highly recommend a stay here.

Our stay at the Skye Inn was made very enjoyable because the Staff were so welcoming and did everything to make us feel comfortable.
The breakfast menu was both varied and delicious served with a smile.
Our room was clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated. A tray filled with choices of tea coffee and chocolate was a bonus.Fresh milk was replenished when required.
Our dog had a wonderful reception.

The inn was very comfortable and the staff was extremely kind and accommodating. We enjoyed the on premises breakfast during our stay. The location is a short walk to Portree's restaurants and shops, and had ample parking. The shower was a little small for the 6'2" member of our family, but otherwise we had no complaints and really enjoyed our stay here.

We absolutely adored staying at The Skye Inn, just wish we’d stayed an extra night! From the delicious shortbread biscuits in our room and the complimentary soap from The Isle of Skye Soap Company to the warm and inviting accommodations and ambience of the restaurant, we couldn’t have asked for a cozier time. The restaurant menu was incredible and the food even better made extra special by sisters Ally and Lauren who were so helpful, friendly, accommodating and just downright delightful. They made our dining experience an absolute pleasure. We loved that breakfast was menu-based and not the typical buffet one gets when “breakfast is included”… a definite plus! Thank you, Skye Inn—we will definitely tell our friends! xo

One of the best Scottish full breakfast meals of our holiday. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early. We had room#8 and from the minute I walked in, I started sneezing and my eyes would water up and get congested. Fortunately we weren't in the room much but I barely got any sleep due to tossing and turning. Finally after three of our four nights we had to leave. The hotel did offer to see if they could move rooms but that really wouldn't have mattered at that point. I am allergic to dogs and perhaps that is the reason. Unfortunately our rooms were non refundable so I had to lose a nights costs to get a good night of sleep.

The hotel is decent but very short staffed.
The rooms were not ready even after checkin time.
Once in room the heating regulator was located behind a big cupboard and not accessible.
The room stayed cold as the heater was not working and we couldn’t start it.
The bathroom was cold and the toilet roll was at its end and no spare.
We reached around 1630 and on reaching we’re told kitchen is not functioning.
We felt it was because the hotel didn’t have enough guests to keep it open but with the weather raining and cold we didn’t have options of going out and hotel kitchen closed we went without food. Not a good way to end the day.
The breakfast was good and hot with good options.
Overall would not like to stay again and is not worth the money even if it’s a cheaper option.
Car park is good and a bonus.

I booked the Skye Inn for convenience of location being in Portree and that it looked like one of the nicer spots in town. I was absolutely wrong. I booked a standard double room for $327 total, which was already overpriced, but I thought it'll be good in person and it included breakfast.

When I got to the room they gave me - I turned around and went back to the front desk to change rooms, BUT they said they were sold out. I addressed my complaints - the first was that the only window in the room faced a cement wall and there was zero view or light. For that rate, I except light and at the very least, a tree or something pleasant outside the window.

As I started to settle in, I noticed numerous other things wrong. Broken, non functioning lights in the bathroom and next to the bed. And the place was very run down including scrapes and nicks on doors and furniture.

The one saving grace was a good breakfast.

For the price, this stay was beyond disappointing.

Was told in a condescending manner…” darlin’ this is an island…”refused my request for a discount since the restaurant was closed. This was a nice quaint Inn off the beaten path in Portree. One note- although free parking, many potholes in the parking lot. Bed was comfortable but only double beds and room and bathroom was small. Dining hall and living room combined was nice. We had breakfast which was yummy, porridge with berries was yummy and eggs and bacon were delicious excellent. Nothing fancy though so plan for coffee and tea- no cappuccino or latte. We loved the teas in our room, the highland cow pillows and all the old fashion horse pictures! Would recommend a stay but maybe bring early plugs bc walls are thin and get 2 rooms!

Very overpriced, and even at half the cost it wouldn’t be worth it. We paid nearly $400 USD for one night - far more than the Marriott we stayed at the night before - yet the quality was nowhere close. The property feels outdated, the air is stuffy, and the walls are so thin you can hear conversations (and even breathing) from the next room. The shower was tiny, the staff seemed to avoid eye contact rather than offer service, and the food was average at best. No air conditioning either. Overall, it feels like the hotel mainly caters to large bus groups. Definitely would not stay here again.

I had a fantastic stay at Skye Inn! The place has a really cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed.

The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh and tasty options to start the day. The location is also a big plus—just a short and easy walk to the town centre and harbour, making it perfect for exploring Inverness.

The only minor downside is that the rooms are a bit small And less utilities.

Can’t wait to come back

A lovely, clean and modern yet traditional hotel. Customer service is excellent, had two small queries once we arrived however these were fixed immediately. Beds were super comfy, plenty of space in the rooms and we were able to request a twin instead of a double. All but a few hairs the room matched the rest of the hotel in its cleanliness. breakfast was amazing and very reasonably priced. location wise it was great, there was a car park although seemed very limited spaces even for winter. Overall was a lovely stay and sad to leave. Was planning to return to skye in summer and go camping, however we will likely be staying here again!

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main square and harbour of Portree. Our room and bathroom were very clean if a bit on the small side; thank goodness neither of us is very big. Breakfast was nicely cooked and served with lots of choice. Unfortunately dinner wasn't available at the hotel two of the three nights we stayed but we were able to find places in the town. Dinner on our third night was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and I can recommend this hotel for single travellers through to large groups who were all catered for.
