The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and nice hot shower. The only negative I’d say was a bit of a musty smell in the room but we opened the window and it was fine.

Hostess also will take care of arranging same day out-sourced laundry service for 25 Scottish pounds so you can go touring and come back to clean clothes. Leaves Scottish treats at bedside nightly! Highly recommend!!

Susan and her property were just what we needed for our stay in Portree. The house is just a short walk to the town center, and is right next door to a gas station and grocery store. If you’re driving, there’s ample parking in the front gravel lot. The breakfast is phenomenal, and the rooms were perfect. We had a mini fridge in ours which saved us since we packed a lot of snacks for hikes!

What a gem! First, location: a bit out of the tourist area, but within less than a 10min walk to the center of Portree, with option of walking through a small forest with a brook running through - lovely. The hosts were TOPS! Welcoming, friendly, happy to help with anything such as directions - and served a fantastic breakfast! The room was quite large, with a large bathroom, all super clean - and very very quiet. Private parking. What a fabulous place!

We thought this was a hotel. It turned out to be a B&B. With hindsight, and checking Portree on Expedia for a fictitious future visit, most of the places in the list are in fact B&Bs, though the point is not made explicitly. This said, the Creagory Skye was the best B&B we have encountered. It seemed very modern, perhaps recently renovated. The bedroom was more than adequate and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. There was a short rod to hang clothes, but nowhere to put a suitcase, nowhere in the bathroom to lay a toilet or makeup bag and no electrical outlet. There were, however, USB charging ports and electrical outlets everywhere (outside the bathroom) and the internet was good. Breakfast was fantastic - many choices which you ordered the night before. The place is a 5-10 minute walk from the (very small) downtown area which houses the only restaurants and bars in town. We cannot say enough about Susan, one of the owners, who most kindly volunteered to drive us there for dinner on our first night when we arrived a bit bewildered by the situation. She suggested it would be easy to find taxis to take us home later. It was not. At 9 p.m. all the taxis had disappeared. With some difficulty we got home. The second night, we felt like locals and had no difficulty.
