We had a good stay at the hotel. The staff were excellent, rooms clean and comfortable.

We did however have two issues. We were very cold, both in the room and in the restaurant area. The heating was not anywhere near adequate for the hotel in all areas. We visited in late December, where temperatures outside were near freezing. We did ask for an extra heater for our room which we got straight away and definitely made a difference.
However sitting in the restaurant morning and evening was very unpleasant and way too cold.

Also, the quality of food was excellent but the way breakfast was served was not enjoyable. They served a small amount of fruit, yogurt and croissants on the table, there was no choice, you have what they give you, then you choose hot breakfast from menu, which was good quality.
There should be an area in the restaurant to choose what you want to start breakfast with. We didn’t enjoy the way breakfast was served.

If this hotel is 4 star then the breakfast service and staff attire does not match to this rating. Not what I expected from a 4 star.
Staff dress was not in line with star rating for restaurant staff.
The breakfast service was slow. Toast arrived barely toasted in full slices. The tier options of fruit and yogurt was awful and being told we don’t offer portions for 3 people just in case it’s wasted is like going to The Ritz for afternoon tea and only being given part of the sandwiches and cakes just in case they aren’t eaten. Not good.

I visited Skye as part of a small tour group and booked my own accommodations at The Bosville. I’m so glad I did! The Bosville is a cozy, boutique hotel right in the heart of Portree, making it walkable to all the stores, restaurants, etc. I had a “cozy double” room with a gorgeous view of Portree Harbor. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m on Skye.

Narrow circular stairwells to top floors may be challenging for some, but rooms on lower floors I presume could be requested. Attached bar is nice. We did not dine at the restaurant.

I loved staying here for a few nights while visiting Isle of Skye. It's on a cute little port that is easily accessible and a local hub while traveling over the area. It has close hiking options, a few shops/restaurants around it and is very close to Isle of Skye Candle Co. that has a restaurant, shop and movie theatre if you need something to do during the evening.

Great place for our stay in Skye. Loved the room, such quaint touches from them made it feel like home. Even though parking seemed to be a slight problem, there was plenty of public parking within a short walking distance. Dining options were a bit scarce and worked MUCH better with reservations than without, so plan ahead! Beautiful property in a gorgeous setting...would definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again!

This was a quaint and historic property. While only the carpet seemed dated, the bathroom in my room was marvelous and chic! I reserved the superior double room. They provided robes, slippers, and a various assortment of complimentary items including a complimentary candle. They're one of the few to offer hot chocolate as well as tea.

There was a blanket on the chair and a throw on the bed, which were perfect for a nap. I have a bad back so am very sensitive to beds, but this one was great! Not only was it very comfortable, but had a nice duvet (which the likes of Inverlochy Castle didn't even have!!)

At check-in I was informed there's no lift on the island, but they'd help me with my bags, which they did expeditiously with several restaurant staff offering to assist. The customer service here was amazing. Everyone is so friendly. This is the Highland hospitality that the region is well known for.

After a long day of hiking in the rain, sleet, and snow, it was a pleasure to rest here and be pampered by the ladies at dinner, where the food portions were massive! In Jan 2023, as they work to remodel, my only upgrade request is to install USB ports.

The service and amenities rivaled and surpassed some of the 5 star hotels where I stayed in during my trip.

I have traveled extensively in Europe and this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever been in. For starters, there was eight parking spaces for the hotel and restaurant. No handicap availability. We had to unload luggage at the door then move our car three blocks away to public parking. The clerk at the desk sat and watched me struggle with my cane trying to get my luggage in the door. The room was badly outdated and run down. There were unpleasant faint odors of stale alcohol and urine. Mold in the shower. Bed lumpy and uncomfortable. There were no other rooms in Portree to move to. After a glorious week in England, this sad excuse for a hotel definitely left a bad first impression of Scottish hospitality and left a bad mark on an otherwise happy vacation. Do not be fooled as I was. When researching the place, the ratings, descriptions of the property and photos all looked legitimate. They were wrong.

Location was right next to a small grocery store and very near many good places to eat. Parking is non-existant! There's a small pay-to-park lot a couple blocks away and a very few spots on the street, but competition for a parking spot in the area is fierce...

The property was clean, the rooms were nice, the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful, and the breakfast was amazing. I can’t comment about dinner because we didn’t eat there, but suspect they didn’t cut any corners there. The only issue, as others have mentioned, was parking. Since the hotel doesn’t own the space in front of the hotel, anyone can park there regardless of whether they are staying at the hotel. Worst case scenario you just have to park a little further away either with street parking or at one of the nearby parking lots. Definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Room was not easily accessible though being up a steep and narrow staircase... pack lightly! Parking was very inconvenient - There are only a small number of spots right outside, and some free spots about 2 blocks away but those filled up quickly. Overall a great experience with a few minor inconveniences.

This town was so cute, we wish we could have stayed longer! The Bosville was very obviously a hub to this town that both people staying at the hotel and even people not staying at the hotel gravitated to. Their restaurant and bar being quite the attraction and understandably so. I would go back in a heartbeat just to have their Burger for dinner, and their croissants & oats for breakfast again-insanely delicious! The staff was also just superb, attentive, kind, and eager to help make anyone’s experience better. Cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay. On top of it all, the shower and bed were terrific too! Was the perfect place to stop and feel refreshed after traveling for so long.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bosville - it's centrally located and we booked it for that reason. Though our room did not have any views every other space in the hotel (restaurant and bar) both had incredible views. Parking is not on-site but paid for parking (very reasonably priced) is a short distance away. The room was lovely - recently redone, spacious, well equipped, and we loved the Nespresso machine. The shower was divine, the bedding lovely, and we loved our stay.

Beautiful Location. Following a 10 Hour Drive was relieved to get to the Hotel.
Was disappointed that there was no parking, and the spaces in front of the hotel were all full, so had to offload my bags then go find a public car park. Only 100 metres away or so, but it was raining heavily and had to be off by 8.00am which was a Pain, following a very long Day.

Staff were polite and professional on check in but not overly friendly, not sure that was just me though.
Ordered the food and drinks in the Merchant Bar. Again staff were a little detached, but fast and efficient to be fair.
Mussels were of a good quality and as there was no Steak Strangely (Think I Might Set up a Supply Chain as none of the restaurants seemed to offer it?) I went for the Burger which was fine Quality but on the expensive side for me, £25 for starter and Main!
Lovely warm environment and very clean, finally lovely happy young lady bought out my Food with a smile, couldn't get much out of the 2 lads serving at the bar but fast and efficient to be sure, checked on me constantly, a little too often if I'm honest.
Breakfast was excellent. The Continental breakfast was beautiful, but not for me, so I asked them to give it to another guest who would appreciate it. I ordered the Full Scottish and it was perfect!

A Nice Place to Spend a Day or Two.

Every non-chain hotel in Scotland might use the adjective quirky and this is certainly true of the Bosville. Upon arrival the front desk person ran outside and advised us on how to unload and park as they have only public and street parking. Other than that our room was a spacious double a bit dated but functional. The bath was newly remodeled and quite nice. Nespresso in the room. The pub and the restaurant (which we ate and drank) were fun and certainly convienent. The staff couldn't have been nicer.

Outstanding Hotel, highly recommended

A really outstanding hotel, perfectly located for travelling around Skye.
We were located on the top floor, with a view out across Portree bay itself. The Room was excellent, with great attention to detail in the decor, the facilities in the room and the toiletries.
The bar is great, very cosy and provides a wide range of drinks, whilst the restaurant was also exceptional, with great variety and quality- we ended up eating there both nights as there seemed no reason to go elsewhere given what it offered.
The staff are really good and enthusiastic to offer advice and recommendations too.
Would highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Portree or Skye itself.

The only slight negative is that it does not have any parking- whilst there are five or so spaces in front of the hotel, these are also used by the nearby co-op. We were fortunate to get a space in front of the hotel, but not without parking elsewhere initially and then quickly moving when a space appeared. Parking options elsewhere are all time limited, which would make it quite a challenge, especially in high season. However, this may well be a problem for other hotels in the area too.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Bosville Hotel. Staff were very pleasant and seemed to work well together. Room was lovely and the breakfast and dinner very excellent. Covid obviously has an impact on breakfast but hotel are still providing an enjoyable meal. We were there when it was very hot which doesn't happen too often in Scotland but room was cool provided the windows were left open but there was a fan in the room. Only downside is the lack of parking in the vicinity.

So many great things about this hotel. Comfortable, clean, great bar and restaurant. Location was very good. However, the parking was a big issue. There isn't a designated car park for the hotel. We had a day out and struggled to park anywhere so we parked in the sister hotel. Such a shame.

Lovely stay in a great location (apart from coop)

Lovely friendly staff, beautiful room overlooking the harbour. Loved the local toiletries and coffee tea making service in the room. However, the pillows were very big hard so I didn’t have the best nights sleep, also thin walls....and the coop delivery next door woke us up at 6:30

Overall good stay. Great location. Staff lovely. Limited parking but the free long stay car park not far away at all. Some areas of the room looked a little tired, wallpaper starting to lift etc. Shower door not the cleanest and the shower itself not very powerful. Restaurant walls could do with a clean as had food splashed on them. The food was ok but expensive for the quality.
