Geotel Hotel in Antofagasta, Chile is fantastic — spotless, very friendly staff, secure parking, affordable, and a very well-equipped room. It’s true the room isn’t very large, but it’s extremely functional.

There are also some undeniable perks — the hotel is right by the beach, with tidal pools where we saw, among other things, starfish. We watched the sunset over the Pacific from our balcony, and in the morning, from that same balcony, we saw dolphins playing… all of this for a really great price.

It was unclear where to park at first, but after day one I figured out that you can park on the road going to the beach pretty much anywhere. So no worries!

Overall service was excellent and staff was very friendly. Room was excellent. Great views from the room of the ocean and the city. Can walk to the beach. The have bicycles, but they're a little beat up.

Great Service, Great Location, Really Good Food!

My girlfriend liked it so much we stayed a second night! It was a great location, I dipped into the ocean for a few minutes. The service from the front desk met our needs & they worked hard to make things right with our benefits from hotels.com. The only problem we had was with the gate to the beach, there were no instructions on how to operate it, so when we closed it behind us, other guests were stuck walking around the property to get back in. Then we saw later from our balcony another guest couldn’t operate it to get out to the beach. Aside from that, the hotel, breakfast buffet, bed, shower, etc was a 10/10!

More good than bad.

Only problem is that there was a little confusion with the 10 USD food & drink credit. When they went to apply it, they changed it to a 10% discount instead. Other than that, the food is good, the breakfast buffet is very substantial, the coffee is convenient & pretty good as well. Lots of little offerings throughout.

I am checking out today and had a great 3 night stay at the hotel. The staff are so lovely from the front desk, restaurant, housekeeping; always with a smile. The wifi worked great, shower good & bed comfortable. Very clean too. Had dinner here & food was good as was my first pisco sour. I stayed here at the beginning of a photography tour & enjoyed photographing the sunset & all the varied birds. Great view from the balcony too. Gracias!

The staff were lovely. Very secure parking.

Good hotel for a nights stay

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Fantastic spacious comfortable rooms and good customer service. Shame they couldn't swap the welcome drink vouchers for water bottles as none were provided in the rooms unlike other hotels in the area.

Went for a sports competition. Had a room with 2 twin beds. Everything was comfortable , but the room was very small for 2 people. I would have gotten a studio if I had known.

Employees of the hotel were awesome. Good service, was close to the competition, but it is far from other restaurants and shopping.

New hotel on the shore south of downtown.

Clean, basic kind of place. Only issue was lack of AC, which is odd, given the desert climate. Probably related to the building's eco-friendly design (it's LEED-certified). Not a huge deal--opening the windows lets in a wonderful sea breeze...still, the room was warmer than I would have liked.

This is an excellent hotel. It is a little far away from other restaurants and shops. The \"restaurant\" at the hotel served microwave meals - so as long as you want to go out for dinner, this is not a problem.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was beautifully clean and comfortable with stunning views of the ocean. The staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The cold breakfast each morning is very generous and there are great budget meals available in the evening. Although the location is a little way for the town centre, there are very frequent buses outside on the main road. Would definitely stay again.

O hotel é novo e confortável com uma vista muito boa para o mar. Contudo, não tive um bom atendimento. Primeiramente a atendente não conseguia achar minha reserva e ficamos bastante tempo esperando até que uma outra atendente chegou e confirmou que nossas reservas estavam ok.
Além disso na reserva dizia que teria alguns \"privilégios gold\", como crédito para gastar com alimentação e drink de boas vindas, contudo, lá chegando a atendente não soube me informar destes benefícios.
A reserva também citava upgrade de quarto grátis mediante disponibilidade e quando precisei renovar a reserva a atendente disse que eu teria que pagar para ficar no quarto que estava já que minha nova reserva tinha sido feita em quarto inferior. Une bonne étape...

J'ai bien aimé cet hôtel.
Confortable, moderne et très propre.
L'emplacement un peu excentré permet d'être plutôt au calme surtout qu'il y a beaucoup de travaux en ville à l'époque de notre passage.
Les chambres ont toutes la vue mer, enfin océan, et c'est très agréable de regarder le coucher du soleil depuis son balcon, qui à l'air un peu fragile cela dit !!
La chambre n'est pas très grande mais le lit est grand et très confortable.
Petite salle de bain mais très fonctionnelle.
Nous avons mangé au restaurant qui est très correct malgré une attente un peu longue !!
Le petit-déjeuner est fantastique avec tout ce que vous pouvez manger à volonté...
Un parking derrière l'hôtel est très pratique, ceci dit les chambres ont aussi vue sur le parking...
Il y a également une plage en contrebas de l'hôtel mais elle n'est pas terrible.

Bonito hotel, pero con mucho por mejorar empezando por mejorar la cocina ....demasiada lentitud para la entrega de la comida,segundo la limpieza de la habitacion deja mucho que desear...tercero la habitaciones no tienen aire acondicionado y en verano es necesario .
Lo demas bastante bien como la atencion del personal de recepcion muy bien por ese lado.

Lindas vacaciones de Invierno

Lo pasamos bien, disfrutamos nos relajamos, la limpieza de los pisos de los pasillos y la cocina de las habitaciones (utilizamos 2 habitaciones) debe mejorar.
La comida rica y sabrosa pero al desayuno falta mas variedad de cosas dulces.
Una noche tuvimos problemas de agua caliente, bañamos a los niños con agua tibia tirada a helada.
En general disfrutamos.

En general bien, ha mejorado y me volvería alojar, punto aparte el restaurant esperaba más, se demoran una hora en mi cena y una hora y 20 minutos en el de mi pareja y da la impresión que si no les decimos que están demorados no se hubiesen acordado por lo mismo me sirvieron 20 minutos antes y estaba frío así que tuve q comer y el de mi pareja llegó después, lo peor de todo esto es que no eran platos difíciles de preparar, mi pareja pidió un lomo a punto, arroz y papas rústicas…todo lo demás excelente, si no fuera por este pequeño problema que empañó nuestra estadía lo calificó como lo mejor que actualmente existe para alojarse en Antofagasta un fin de semana.

Really disappointed and do not recommend

My wife, daugther and myself spent 2 nights (2 junior suites) on February 16th and 17th.

We travelled a lot in different countries within years and we have never seen such a cold and unpleasant welcome.

We were received by Lyliana, without a smile, a welcome or a hello. She did not speak english and was not even willing to try. No explanation about the amenities of the hotel. Her only comment was to say that we were too early and not to come back before 14h00.
Fortunately, an employee that was painting the walls at the reception helped us in giving us the access code to the wi-fi, the location of the restaurant and indicated us were to park our car.... We appreciated a lot his effort, particularly as it was not in his attributions.
When we checked in later, Lyliana gave us 2 rooms that were at the 2 extremities of the hotel; one on 4th level and on the second floor; we then ask if it was possible to have the 2 rooms at least on the same level and the answer came quickly, without even looking at her computer screen: just NO.
We realized during our stay that the hotel was almost empty!!!

The rooms were nice and of good size and nice view but the cleanliness was very poor; dirty floors, stains on the toilet paper roll (!), bathroom basket not emptied, etc.

We, afterwards, realized that a client wrote similar comments from his own experience, dated February 14th 2020 (rf. Enemache from united kingdom)

Very desagreable experience. We do not recommend this hotel.

Es siempre una buena experiencia, el hotel es muy cómodo limpio, buen ubicado, buena atención, y tienes buen acceso a estacionamientos lo que permite en ocaciones hasta estacionar 2 vehículos sin cobro adicional, lo que es una maravilla cuando viajas con dos vehículos, la verdad que lo recomiendo mucho, tiene excelente precios es ordenado y ofrecen buffet y hasta karaoke los fines de semana un agrado de hotel
