We booked the ocean view which was worth the extra charge. It's right on the beachfront road. Safe to walk at night. Jumbo grocery and minimart w/Domino's Pizza within a block or two. Room was spacious and comfortable. My one issue was the A/C - it took several hours to cool the room, but opening the window to traffic noise wasn't an option for us.

It’s a good and clean place to stay while driving between towns or exploring the area. There are tons of dinning options around and the neighborhood is walkable. Clean property, good quality overall. The only bad thing they keep the pool close until 10 am with a sign indicating it’s being cleaned, but there is no one there. Guests should be able to use it before their check out.

Nice hotel in a good location in Antofagasta. Nice rooms and good clean bathroom. Breakfast was inconsistent over the three nights we were there. Some days the buffet was well stocked and topped up. Others it was empty and staff seemed disinterested in helping to fill it. Lots of waste of Single use plastic in an attempt to provide Covid safety at the breakfast buffet.

Very central location. Ideal for walking to all the local bars and restaurants. Be careful you have to climb into the bath to take a shower, very easy to slip and the edging tiles on the edge of the bath are very sharp. I managed to slip and scraped the skin off my shin...Ouch😱

I did like the staff attitude:: very professional and kind. A few examples follow below:

1. They upgraded my room type to sea view.
2. I was a bit late for breakfast time, but the nice lady in charge to retrieve breakfast items, got me covered by bringing me the item back. This was lovely. I worked for more than two weeks in the desert of Atacama and was very tired that morning that I almost missed breakfast!!! She saved my day!

What I liked less:

- My two bed room was a bit small compared to other same rate hotels, and a bit pricy
- no minibar. I do not actually care for the minibar, but I am carrying items requiring refrigeration and I was not able to refrigerate them.

A very good hotel to stay in Antofagasta

This hotel is a very good choice while staying in Antofagasta. Their facilities are good, there is no restaurant on site, there are plenty of restaurants in the area (and some are very good) the parking on site is free and underground.

The front desk staff is very good and attentive.

The rooms (I stayed in the 10th floor) are very good, spacious, I had a great view of the ocean, a very good room without a doubt.

Their breakfast is decent, I would not consider it special, it’s very basic really, but, then again is free.

Overall a very good stay, I would definitely stay again and I would recommend it to friends and family.

Very pleasant stay and location

We stayed at this hotel for one night and decided to return later in the week. Both times we were very satisfied with the hotel room, location, breakfast and service. The first night we had a sea view room and we found it to be a bit noisy at night due to the traffic in the busy avenue. The second night we stayed in a room facing the back of the hotel, we didn't have the view but the room was quieter and we slept better. I would return to this hotel again.

Avoid this hotel unless is your last choice.

A/c was making an infernal noice. They said all the other 3 available rooms had the same problem. So no a/c available.
Internet was slow.
Things looked old.
The employees didnt helped on tourist things to do, they said \"check on google\".

Very pleasant stay, great ocean view, restaurants

I was fortunate enough to get a king bed room with an ocean view on an upper floor--I enjoyed the view.

There are some great restaurants nearby--you could easily walk to them if necessary. Amares is an upper class restaurant with top of the line food and drinks, and Mu Grill House is even closer, equally high class, and specializes in steaks. Driving is a little tricky in the area with all the one way streets, but you just search for Amares Antofagasta in Google Maps, likewise for Mu Restaurant.

The hotel breakfast is wonderful for being a free breakfast--so much better than most free hotel breakfasts in the U.S. Real scrambled eggs cooked on site.

The pool was too cold to use, but the jacuzzi was great. Almost nothing to complain about on this visit...

Right across the street there is a great path along the ocean where you can walk/run/jog. Check the weather--it's cool right now, and you probably won't want to go in the ocean.

Party time with daughter!

The hotel is centrally located. Easy fifteen minute walk to the Mall. It's about a twenty minute taxi ride from the airport and about ten minute taxi ride to the bus terminal.
Room, the good: We were in room 512. Oceanview. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Air may be loud for some, but cooled room perfectly. I liked it as it drowned out the traffic noise. Television worked well.
Room, the bad: Bathroom door did not close properly; hot water in sink trickled; no plunger in sink, so sink could not be filled up; minor annoyances but hotel staff should ensure rooms are up to speck.
Meals: The included breakfast consisted of: cold cereals, milks, juices, coffee (instant), eggs, breads, muffins, doughnuts, cheeses, cold cuts, jams, butter, manjar, honey, yoghurts, basically all you need for breakfast.
Gym/pool: pool area us small but we'll maintained and pretty. Gym had cardio machines only. No weights. It had two yoga mats. Two television sets in working order.
Staff: Breakfast area staff were excellent. Always replenishing food items. Front desk staff were hit and miss. The young ladies, mostly during the day were all excellent. The evening staff, all men when we stayed were not as hospitable. Not horrid by any means, just not as helpful.
Nearby restaurant: highly recommend Donde Mauro. Best service and food we have received in Antofagasta, in the two times we gave visited.
Also nearby: A Catholic Church. Less than a ten minute walk.

This hotel is a very good option for who want to be close to the restaurants and also to have a nice view to the beach. The problem is that you need to leave the hotel to have dinner because they don't have a restaurant inside.

Check the air conditioning before you go to bed :) Nice place, great breakfast, pool.

We had a very nice stay. The only complaints I would mention are that the air-conditioning did not work and the jacuzzi, though warm, did not have jets working. When we realized about the air in our room, the kids were already in bed and we obviously did not want to change rooms. I would have liked a discount, but none was offered. It was a pretty warm night and we couldn't get a breeze through the small window. However, everything else was great. The pool was enjoyed by our children. There were many choices at breakfast. They were nice about getting us ice several times. The staff was nice. The rooms were clean.

I have been a guest at the Holiday Inn Express Antofagasta on two different occasions, both were 1 week long. Excellent accommodations, friendly staff, very clean room with the most beautiful ocean view. Walking distance to many fine restaurants, never felt worried or threatened at any time and I walked a lot at night. The mall is also within walking distance for any shopping required. Make sure you try the fruit. It is simply fantastic, especially the yellow delicious apples, probably some of the best in the world. I tried everything from the little hole in the wall to fine dining. Food is great, service second to none. I dont speak the native language, but some restaurants have English menus and those that dont are very helpful with pictures and excellent service staff.

Men hotellet har helt klart sett sina bästa dagar. ACn på rummet lät väldigt högt och bitvis går den igång som en traktor. Man behöver bra öronproppar för AC-ljudet och ljud från gatan.
Tvättstället är i sovrummet, utanför rummet med toaletten och duschen, så det gör att det är svårt att tvätta händerna utan att störa den du delar rummet med.
