The check-in process was chaotic. There were clearly some issues the staff were dealing with and that frustration was passed onto the guest checking in. The computer crashed mid check-in which caused more issues. We came back “after hours” and tried to use the doorbell to get in the front door and it did not work. We needed up having to pound in the front glass to get someone to let us in. The gentleman that came to let us in was in his cell phone and seemed annoyed that we didn’t use the doorbell. We told him he did t work and then he tried it a few times before we were able to get in. Also, the elevators seemed like they hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. The room was nice but the experience getting there was rough.

Be aware! Cleaning poor, bugs!! Staff seemed nice but wouldn't refund fully because I didn't give required notice for check out. Had to toss stuff in addition to lost money from bugs!!!!! Hotels.com offered me $50 to replace my thrown out items. Obviously no clue things aren't priced like 1950 anymore! I didn’t spend 1 night, only checked in prior to event. Should have had full refund! I'm never using this site or hotel brand again.

The room needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. Special attention needed to the fold out chair/bed and the desk chair, as they both needed crumbs vacuumed and upholstered fold-out chair/bed upholstery needs spot cleaned. In-shower built in soap holders need to be cleaned of grime and dried soap residue. In room coffee maker contained standing water and we did not use it. Breakfast was very good, waitress very friendly and efficient. Check in and check out staff were very good. The bed was very comfortable. Overall, we did enjoy our stay.

The property is nice. I had issues with my reservation. I reserved in December for a February stay. My room was given to another renter. I was not given compensation for the smaller room I was given. I traveled in from Las Vegas Nevada and I am still not happy. I talked to 4 different managers and was told lies. I was told that my reservation was not paid for. But during check in, I only paid for damage fees and was given a room key. I only had to show my ID. The person they gave my reserved room to, knew the suite number that was reserved for me and only me. I feel that is a protection issue.

We were there for 3 nights. After the first night we were away during the day, when we returned the used towels had been removed from our bathroom but nothing else was done. We had to call down for fresh towels when we asked staff if it was necessary to request cleaning service they seemed unsure. The following day, we returned to the room late afternoon and nothing had been cleaned, we asked them to at least make up the bed, which they did (they also replaced the towels). Additionally, the floors throughout the hotel needed mopped and vacuumed badly. If they kept the hotel cleaner it would make a huge difference as this is probably the nicest property in Evansville. Granted, we were there during a busy weekend but they need to step it up in the cleaning department if they want guests to return.

They just got new TV’s, which is great, but they have the DirectTv box on the wall behind the TV and you can’t change the channel without standing up and holding it over the top of the TV. Hopefully they get that fixed. Also our room (537) was right next to the elevator and it sounded like a bowling alley all day and all night. Breakfast, they were serving a buffet for $15. They wouldn’t let me buy a To-go order along with my meal to take to my fiance who didn’t feel like coming down to eat. He had to skip breakfast. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the location of the hotel was good.

I recently stayed here in Evansville for five days for my son’s birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing overall.
Before arrival, I called to ask if they offered anything small for birthdays (I even said I didn’t mind paying for something simple like a balloon that said “Happy Birthday”). The woman on the phone was very rude and dismissive, which immediately made me feel uncomfortable about the stay.
At check-in, however, the manager was extremely kind and welcoming. I don’t remember her name, but she was very sweet and helpful, and I truly appreciated her professionalism.
The biggest issue was housekeeping. The hotel states that full cleanings are done on the third day, but throughout my five-day stay, the bed sheets were never changed. I traveled with kids, so I asked daily for light cleaning since the room would get messy. They would make the bed but never replaced the sheets, we slept on the same sheets the entire stay. On the last night, I finally complained, and the manager personally came and fixed everything and changed the sheets. Again, she handled it well, but it shouldn’t have required a complaint after five days.
Another major issue was the hot water. It barely worked the entire stay. I’m from Boston, so taking cold showers every day was extremely frustrating, and my kids didn’t like it either.
The pool was closed, there’s no breakfast offered, and for the price we paid, it felt very expensive for just a basic bed and room.

When I checked in the guy \"helping\" me wasn't welcoming and the exchange was awkward. He had me swipe my card. Which was already in his system. The room was decent. I've always stayed at this hotel on this holiday. The entire evening there was another guest who stayed directly above my room stomping and falling on the floor for hours. I couldn't rest. I heard thumping most of the night. In the morning the cleaning lady knocked so hard on the door next to me I jumped up out of my sleep to answer the door. She apologized and said she wasn't knocking on my door. I chose to check out hours early. Since I was woken up. I go to check out the woman states lets see what you owe. Which I had already paid in advance. I get home and notice an extra charge on my card. I've never been charged that before. There's a deposit and parking fee which was already taken out. So the additional charge was an error. I called the hotel the woman states the charge came from the third party I used to book the hotel. I contacted hotels.com they verified it wasnt a charge on their end. I called DoubleTree back and let them know. The charge on my credit card states DoubleTree. After speaking to a manager he was able to locate the extra charge. He stated the charge was reversed. But its still not eflecting it was reversed on my bank account. The hotel did apologize for the extra charge. I will no longer stay there. Very disappointed! I expected better for the price of the room. A horrible hotel experience!

I've stayed at this hotel many times for the Thanksgiving weekend. This is the first year that I have had to pay for parking in the deck behind the hotel. I'm not clear if it is the hotel parking lot, but I was charged $17.50 to stay overnight. I wish this had been made clear when I booked as the room might not have seemed such a bargain. When I inquired about it I was told that they are now charging to park and that there were two free parking lots/decks within walking distance. Please add that info to your website for the mobility impaired!

Rooms should be ready at the check in time otherwise maybe you all need to change the check out time to earlier like 10 or 11 at the latest Having 10 minutes to get ready to be somewhere at 5 was not a pleasant experience. There were so many people waiting for rooms at check in time. Maybe more housekeeping staff is needed or if you know you have this many people checking in then that many people have to be gone Do appreciate the manager switching my room type. I really did not care what kind of room I had long as it was clean and ready to go at check in. I just had a couple options online to choose from

The moment we stepped into the hotel there was a foul smell that was awful. The smell wafted as far as to my room on the 2nd floor. I know that there were a few more dissatisfied patrons as well. We only had 2 towels for our room. The room was not any better than other hotels I have a stayed in the area. The only good thing about the room is the pillows. I will not recommend this hotel for the amount of money I paid.

The staff at check in and check out were wonderful as well as our room. Did not care for the market place. Chose an item that needed water and a microwave. Staff instructed me to go all the way around a hall to get water and come back to use the microwave. Did not realize there was no microwave in the room. Very inconvenient. The front desk staff, Adriane, was unprofessional. We drove 4 hours and called ahead both 24 hours before and the day of to inquire about early check-in. We were told check-in was 2pm at first, then 1pm, and later \"first come, first serve.\" Despite asking multiple times if she needed my confirmation number, she said it wasn't necessary. We arrived between 1–2pm, only for Adriane to tell me the room wasn’t ready and check-in was at 4pm. We had an event at 5pm and still needed to get ready. She explained that suites, which cost more, are cleaned last. While early check-ins aren’t guaranteed, the way she communicated made it seem like it would be possible. We waited in the lobby for an hour, and during that time, a flight crew had similar issues. Finally, after approaching the desk again, Adriane’s \"manager\" stepped in and we were given the room—but it wasn’t clean.

The shower looked like it had never been cleaned, with the bottom appearing as if someone had walked through it with dirty boots. When we pulled back the sheets on the bed, we found a bug. That was it for us. We checked out immediately and drove the 4 hours home in the middle of the night.

The woman at the front office wasn’t very friendly when we checked in, and not helpful at all. I had called a couple of times earlier and she immediately pur me on hold both times She assigned me a room on 1st floor. I couldn’t find the room so had to go back and ask her again where it was and her directions on how to get to the room were inaccurate. I still couldn’t find the room so I asked the daytime bartender how to get to my room. She was very friendly and showed me where to find the room. My friend and I had late nite drinks at the bar. The bartender on duty at that time disappeared for about 20 minutes just as we were finishing our drinks and we had to wait for her to get back. She never said she had to step away, and when she would be back, just disappeared. It was annoying to have to wait so long for our check

We booked its room due to its proximity to the Old National Event Center and, come to find out, there is even a skywalk to the event center. We never had to walk outside. When we arrived at the event center there was an entrance just for us and we didn’t even have to stand in line to get in. The hotel itself was perfect in every way and the staff were very accommodating. There are also many places to eat within walking distance. We will return to this hotel in a heartbeat!

This stay was an absolute pleasure. The room was spacious and comfortable. The parking was easy and convenient to the hotel. I saw a concert at the Old National Events Plaza located just across the street. The bar was well attended after the event and Kim, who worked behind the bar was engaging while keeping up with her customers. The fire pit was a nice surprise.

We stay here when they have concerts at Ford Stadium and Old National Events Plaza. Very convenient cat walks take you right into both locations , so no lines to wait in or weather to worry about standing in. Only bad is if you stay on the 1st floor road noise is kinda bad. Especially when delivery trucks park right outside your window and leave their trucks running at 6 o'clock in the morning.

Came to Evansville for a comedy show at Victory Theater & this was the perfect stay. Walking distance to Main Street for lots of restaurants and walking distance to the many entertainment venues including Victory theater. Check in was quick & easy, hotel is very clean & updated. Everything in the room worked properly & was clean & comfortable. Parking not bad for $17 in & out, did not do breakfast or any meals at the onsite restaurant but got some snack for the room at their little snack stand. Would definitely stay here again if in Evansville.

The floors were dirty in our room and the hallway. Bandaids stuck to the carpet. Room had larger food crumbs on the floor. I know it wasnt vacuumed because I found change under the desk. Fridge in room stopped working sometime through the night so our food was wasted. Iron was broken so water got everywhere. Exit for parking garage has a median in front so you can only go one way and have to circle around. Lighting in the room was poor so i dont recommend staying here if you need to get ready for an event.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our trip as we attended an event downtown. The hotel facility is beautiful and our room was clean. The lighting in the room was dim/poor; especially in the bathroom. There was something wrong with our lighted mirror in the bathroom as it would only flicker and the drain in our sink was slow. Both times I have stayed at this location, the check in was slow as there was a line of people checking in. Overall, I would definitely consider staying at the DoubleTree agin.

We were only there one night but the room was excellent. The fitness center and pool are very nice. Having starbucks and a restaurant downstairs was extremely convenient. We booked this hotel because it was next door and connected via skywalk to the Ford Center. Only complaint I had was trying to get a late check out. I called the hotel prior to arriving, spent quite a bit of time on the phone only to be told I have to check with the front desk when I check in. Arrived for check in and they told me I'd have to check in the morning. Stopped at the front counter again in the morning and was told check out was changed to 11am instead of 12pm which it said we I booked the room. They would not allow a late check out, because of all the people checking in that day which I understand but would have preferred to not have to go through 3 people to get my question answered. We didn't check out until almost noon and they didn't have a problem with it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The rooms were spacious & clean. Very comfortable atmosphere & very friendly staff. Only drawback was an hour wait at the table of Stone City Grill for our dinner order to be taken. The hotel was packed for an event & they should have been prepared. A heads up on nearby restaurants is Angelo’s Italian restaurant a short walk which was primo. Blissimo👍

Our stay was great! The staff was nice and it was very convenient parking plenty of space and it was very convenient to local spots around town. The only negative that I have to say is the rooms weren’t that cleaned there was dust on top of the cabinets and crumbs. Also, the sheets had stains. The pillowcases had stains.
