The room had a strong musty smell. The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was VERY lackluster. I was not impressed with the breakfast selection. Due to getting in at 10pm, there were no linens for the extra air mattress we had to rent. So we paid extra for an air mattress (we had 5 in our room) but couldn’t get a sheet, blanket, or pillow.

This was my first time staying in this hotel. The room was clearly outdated and in need of repair. The bathtub had visible cracks, and the shower didn’t turn on properly. The toilet flushed, but it usually took a while. Additionally, the cleanliness of the room was a major concern. There were piles of dirt and hair behind the mattress. If I had the opportunity, I would have attached pictures to illustrate the situation.

We really enioyed our stay. The hotel is very quiet and family oriented. We were able to do some holiday shopping at the mall across the street and went to one of the nearby restaurants for dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was clean. All in all it was a great stay and we will be revisiting soon! Thank you Howard Johnson for a great experience!

We checked into this room on Wednesday the 26th. Our check-in process was aggravating as the front desk attendants do not speak good English. We had already paid for the trip in advance, as this hotel has good reviews for reasons I cannot understand, so we did not want to forfeit our Reservation based on the check-in process. I am hard of hearing and have a service animal that alerts me to noise. I asked for a hearing impaired enabled room, they do not have those at this property. He issued me a key, but after I made him aware that I would have a service animal with me as I always make any hotel aware, so that they do not try and stick me with a bill and consider her a pet, he took my key back and put me in a “pets only room “. I protested, and he insisted that they do not put animals in any other rooms. Once we checked into the room, I could see that these rooms are not taken care of very well. It seems that they have been painted 100 times, the floors are hard floors, so they collect every bit of debris and dust, and we’re not clean. The bottoms of our bare feet were black after walking around in the room for a little bit. there was actually kitty litter behind the television stand. The room was so far to the other end of the property by the outer doors that the Wi-Fi was not working on the TV for most of the time that we were there. Further than that, after checking the room for bedbugs as we always do, we still encountered bedbugs.

Hotel needs to removed from the platform. Beds where flipping up no phone key card had to be reactivated couple time during stay. The original room we had been given, had gone to use the bathroom and there were poop stains covering the toilet seat. Upon bringing it up to the front desk we were given another room that had can tops still on the floor as if not properly vacuumed and cleaned and the bathroom had mouse droppings in it. Had it not been they took a 50$ unannounced deposit and needing to go to sleep right then I would’ve asked for a refund and looked elsewhere.

We stayed 5 nights at the Howard Johnson hotel in Evansville for the Fall Festival and to visit family. This hotel needed major renovations and updating. It felt like we were in a hotel from the 90s and no upgrades were ever done since then. However, the hotel staff were friendly. Special thanks to Ms. Peggy, one of the housekeeping staff, who exemplified amazing customer service. She was very so personable and hospitable. She made our stay more pleasant.
We did encounter a bug during our stay and that was all she wrote. Though we had some positive experiences, that is not enough to return for next year’s stay. This hotel is only meant for a one night stay and not for an extended stay. We will be staying in another hotel in 2026. I hope Wyndham will make some major changes to improve the appearance of this hotel.

Lots of disrepair. Our toilet rested on a tile floor & was not secure, wobbled. The bathtub faucet handle wasn't secure & required lots of movement before the temperature would change. Completely confused on the good reviews online from this establishment. This place is awful. The room was extremely dirty with animal urine on the wall, dead bugs, and a strong odor of musty urine and mold. We were offered a different room which when we entered that room smelled strong of musty mold. This room was "cleaner", but the smell and the air flow was not working. As we were leaving (we didn't stay here, we checked out 30 mins after arriving and had to find a different hotel), there was an actual "business deal" happening in the parking lot. Just totally unsafe. I did get my money back thankfully so I was happy about that as I had to pay for an entire different hotel for my family.

Little was offered as remedy other than some minimal Wyndham rewards points that likely will not be of benefit to us. The pool was a positive and useful feature, but pool towels were unavailable.

Checked into room 163. The shower knob looked like it was about to fall off went to front desk immediately to let them know. They quickly sent a maintenance man that put a brand new shower knob on. Then he tried to fix the vizo tv. It wouldn't work for some reason. At first front desk didn't want to move me bc said they were booked up (looking at parking lot we checked in late could tell they other rooms.) Another staff memeber that works there but was off had tried to help with tv remote as well. After 2 people wouldn't get it to work, got moved to 165. Not long after moving to 165 seen a bug on bed. When went back shortly after switching rooms a lady was working there now. She took picture and told me to wait. They offered to switch rooms. Honestly, wasn't sure if next room would be worse, we were tired been up since 5am and the whole ordeal took a while so our food was cold, and I don't want to be that person to complain. Was told staff would take a while to change sheets. I told them if gonna be a while give me gloves and all new sheets. I changed sheets myself with provided gloves. Staff did call to see everything was ok. I asked about a manager, will get email when check out. The bathroom sink didn't find out til much later on and was too tired to go to front desk it does not or is a slow drain. Breakfast area was very clean. No breakfast meats the day I went. Hopefully shower and checkout will have no issues.

It was fine and met all our needs. They have scary signs at front desk about 300$ fines if there is any damage to linen so this stressed me out. I understand why they do that but you never know if you need to check the bed carefully prior to using it, to spend more time on checking things or just let it go. So overall it was clean, coffee maker, fridge and microwave were in the room - thank you for that! TV (or remote control) didn't work (but we don't really watch TV). So I give it an excellent grade for the price we paid. Not smiling staff didn't bother me:)

The doors on each room, are very loud when they shut. You can hear each door close in the hall. And the bathroom was not clean very well. Overall it looked clean but i found a hair the shower and residue from previous soap in the shower. Plus side is that it is across from a mall and plenty of food options in the area.

There is a Bob Evans right next door which makes walking over for meals very easy. There are also many other restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Located directly across the street is a large mall with lots of food and shopping options.
The bed was a bit soft but quite comfortable.

I didn’t like anything about this hotel . They gave a us a room that literally was dirty and disgusting ! My boyfriend actually checked us in &’ he walks in and he calls me &’ said idk about this . I have a bad gut feeling .. there was human pee on a little bench by the door. I was like okay we don’t have to sit on that we can remove it . But then when I get in the room I found a bedbug.. and I took a picture and took pictures of everything that was wrong . I pulled the sheets off the bed there was poop stain on the bed .. the bath tub was falling in . There was poop stains in the toilet.. the bedroom wasn’t even cleaned properly at all , and they didn’t even offer us a different room . Which even if they did I still wouldn’t have taken it because the place wasn’t clean at all not even the hallways, the manager was disrespectful and rude &’ I don’t even wanna talk about the staff at this please I highly don’t recommend anyone to stay here !
