Very, very rude receptionist. I was not impressed. She was extremely unhelpful - she did not program my key properly and after trekking halfway round the hotel to find out it didn’t work, she rudely spoke to me and made me wait in a big queue to get a new one, despite me telling her we had a taxi waiting for us to take us for dinner and we were running late.
I also called down for an iron and an ironing board and she was so rude and told me I had to collect it myself. Not what I would expect from such a nice hotel. Very disappointed.

I have travelled extensively never ever have l been told on day it was 34c the Air Conditioning was broken in our room that they had no other accommodation as hotel was booked. I explained l booked this hotel because of the air conditioning six months prior to coming due fact l have a lung disease. I was then told 15 minutes later that they did have another room two rooms down and we could move to this room reassured the A/C worked. The room was not clean the shower still had the shampoo from the prior guest. The shower, the sink, the floor with dirty, the toilet was dirty.. and the air conditioning never dropped below 23 Celsius in the room. When we reported these conditions to the front desk, they simply said they were full. And that they could give us bottle wine for the inconvenience. Clearly, they have not learned anything from Covid and clean conditions for people to stay in.
After I had spent over $350 for a room with no air conditioning, and was offered a bottle wine for the deficiencies. I don’t drink. So clearly l received no compensation.

Far from city centre - well only 2 kms or so but u need a cab or a car. Else hotel is good but no spa which I believe could have been installed since the hotel is slightly back of beyond and that could be the carrott to get people in.
Else it is clean / modern and the bar is nice with friendly staff. Free car park is good. Also over weekend it was crowded especially the bar area with visitors.

We had previously stayed here just over a year ago, and had no wish to stay elsewhere when we had to attend a funeral in Middelburg. The hotel is very comfortable and has a tranquil feel, at the same time being very modern. The breakfast are great and the dining room has the same quiet relaxed air.
The only criticism we have is the low level lighting in the bedrooms which makes reading for us a rather strained affair.

Kamer inclusief badkamer fantastisch. Diner en ontbijtbuffet zoals te verwachten hij van der Valk: grote klasse. Aan het koffiezetapparaat op de kamer moesten we even wennen maar dat werd door een medewerker snel en adequaat opgelost. Parkeren was zaterdagavond laat lastig, we hadden de laatste beschikbare plek.
