We stayed at Taxim Lounge Hotel in Istanbul from January 4th to 9th, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant.

One of the biggest issues was the unbearable stench coming from the toilet and bathroom. Despite raising our concerns with the staff, nothing was done to resolve the issue. Every night, we covered the shower drain, sink hole, with wet towel and tightly closed the bathroom door, but the strong odor persisted, filling the entire room. It made our stay uncomfortable and unpleasant.

To make matters worse, there was no internet for three days due to road or building construction outside. While we understand external factors can cause disruptions, it was incredibly inconvenient, and no alternative solutions were offered by the hotel.

The room itself was outdated and in dire need of maintenance. The doorknob was loose and falling apart, and the wooden door and bed were chipping. Overall, the room’s condition did not meet basic expectations, making the stay even more frustrating.

On a positive note, the staff were friendly and approachable. However, their kindness could not make up for the issues we encountered during our stay.

We would not recommend Taxim Lounge Hotel unless significant improvements are made to the facilities and overall upkeep.

Nice and clean stay, spacious room, great options in the breakfast buffet. And the area isn’t as noisy as many people think, inspite of the numerous hotels & bars and crowds around. Taksim square, Istiklal street, both are just a short walk from the hotel. The staff are really very cooperative and professional. We reached the hotel in ther early morning, and the people in the reception were kind enough to offer breakfast for that day, allowed us to freshen up in the staff toilet, and also provided the room to us within an hour, with no extra fees.

The reception guys were AMAZING!!!
In all my years in Travel, the check-in procedures and quality of your reception staff were EXCEPTIONAL and some of the best I've ever experienced, truly!!!

Please don't offer your guests the Le Vapeur Bosphorus Dinner Cruise, they are not a good option in terms of operations and service, but we thank you for the compensation afterwards <3

The only positive thing about the property was some of the good staff and location but other than that, sadly, not very clean when it comes to cleanliness. The page on Expedia says there’s a restaurant in the hotel but there is not - the page should be updated as this was misleading.

No room service from the hotel itself whatsoever. You can’t even order coffee from the front desk. I recommend trying a different hotel if you’re a first timer in Istanbul.

Poor internet connectivity, if any. WiFi did not work. Had to harass the staff until they gave me a mobile WiFi connector. AC was absolutely terrible, took 3 hours if not longer to cool the room. The AC was disabled by the hotel to only run on a very low fan and no other control except temp set point. Again I had to harass the staff for an extra card to keep the power (Air Conditioning) running while I was out because I’m not waiting 3-4 hours for the room to cool. They made up stories like that’s how the internet is in Turkey. Or that the AC. No it is this hotel! I have stayed at cheaper hotels in Istanbul that were much nicer than this facility. I appreciate their accommodations after I was forced to be a jerk due to such ridiculous “4 Star hotel” guest accommodations. It was loud one night too, it’s a hoping neighborhood. I didn’t mind. Would not stay here again,

The property was very nice and clean. The front staff offered to setup ground transport from airport to hotel, which was nice after a 12 hour flight. Hotel staff was always friendly, the room was very clean along with the bathroom. I really enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Hotel was also in a great location as well. Enjoyed my stay

The location was excellent and only two minutes walk from the famous Istiklal street. The customer service provided by the staff was more than excellent, I never experienced that even in 5 stars hotels in the US.
I didn't like that they didn't provide us with lotion and conditioner and even though I informed them 10 days prior to my arrival that I will be late one day, they still charged me for the night that I missed.

Home in Istanbul

All you ask for in a hotel is definitely here . very convenient rooms . the hotel is located just in the center of everything in Beyoglu-Istiklal area - you don't have to worry about getting back to the hotel if you are spending your night in Istiklal or Galata or Taksim , it is just in a walking distance .. Breakfast is really good and freshly prepared and most importantly is that it is not crowded as the big hotels , you can also enjoy having it in the cozy glass terrace .
When I am hopefully back in Istanbul , I will definitely stay here again every time .

Staff aren't very helpful or friendly - unlike almost every other hotel in Turkey. They gave me a room key that didn't work, but took 2 visits to reception and over an hour for them to get me a new key. The bed didn't have a sheet to cover myself with; only a comforter which of course doesn't get laundered daily. But, the worst part is that the street that the hotel is on has a ton of bars and the windows are cheap, which means that you're not going to get a good night's rest with all the noises.

Modern hotel in a historic building, the staff are helpful and the building and rooms are cleaned well. Our room was modern and the bed was comfortable.The breakfast was budget feeling but it was presented well and clean (terrible coffee machine). There were some minor issues, towel with hole, no bed sheet, mirror light didnt work...but overall a really nice stay.

Area wasn’t quite so loud music till 3:00 am, Roads to this hotel is blocked and crowded so you need to walk to the main road for 5 to 10 minutes to catch up with your ride. Inside the room furniture is not clean nor like pictures other than that everything was good.

The hotel itself was nice, clean and convenient. But I booked a standard double room with a king sized bed, and was initially given a single room. The bed was really small and there was barely enough space in the room for two people. Reception informed me that no double rooms were available, despite my reservation. They did move us the next morning to the room I had booked, but did not offer any compensation for the mistake. That made a poor impression on me, and next time I would book a different hotel.

Good hotel with keen-to-please staff. Breakfast a bit repetitive - and major problem with Google Maps - it is not where GMaps says it should be (has moved since their last update - Apple Maps has it accurately positioned!) - we had a problem getting there because of this!
However the hotel is in a good position in Istanbul near Taxim Square - just off the main shopping street - with lots going on. We spent 4 nights there and experienced a very friendly and efficient service.

Surprisingly good find

Randomly picked this hotel on hotels.com and had a wonderful stay. The room was beautiful and plenty spacious. Great location as its only a few minutes walk from Taksim Square, but even closer to many delicious restaurants and bars. After I made my booking, the hotel emailed me to see if I wanted to arrange transport from the airport. I did do this and it was wonderful- so easy and stress free. Very reasonable price and great staff. Would absolutely stay there again if I go back to Istanbul!

Family visit during days and I worked at nights..

Room: was clean, bathroom complying with 5-star standard, nice big sreen TV on the wall, bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Refrigerator is silent. Only opportunity is on air conditioning; was smelling bad when turned on for 10 minutes, i was keeping one window open till the smell disappear.
Breakfast: modest but good choices. Basics available, Turkish \"simit\" and \"menemen\" at breakfast was good surprises. The opportunity is on soft drinks at breakfast, they are made from concentrate... Shouldn't drink these sugar rich flavorless stuff..
Neighborhood: in a street paralel to \"Istiklal Caddesi\". So you should expect it to be noisy. There are Turkish folk music bars next to hotel where they play loud live music. Especially Fridays and Saturdays expect to hear this loud music in your room till 4 am. I stayed at a nice room on 5th floor where i checked-in afer midnight on a Friday, and i moved to ground floor the second day to a room looking backyard, where the music you hear was less.
Crew: was helpful, i had couple requests during the week i stayed, all responded adequately.
Overall a good stay, I may stay one more time in this hotel.

Genel olarak iyi bir otel.Taksim merkezde kalmak istiyorsunuz doğru tercih.Çalışanlar nazik ve yardım sever.Kahvaltı yeterli fakat daha iyi bir çekirdeğini kendi öğüten otomatik kahve makinası koyabilirler. Yataklar konforlu ve rahat. Bina oldukça eski güzel bir bina. Odaların tavanı oldukça yüksek bu ferah hissettiriyor. Odaların içindeki ışık biraz loş kalıyo bir elden geçirilmeli. Otelle alakalı olmasa da bulunduğu sokaktan dolayı geceleri dışarıdan bolca ses geliyor.
