I have stayed here several times over the last 5 years, very reliable, great value for money, helpful staff. I find it to be an excellent location as it is almost 1/2 way between the beach and the old town, both very easy to get to via a short bike ride.
I will definitely continue to stay here on my returns to Hoi An

Attentive staff. Decent location. Very affordable. Very helpful and if there is any issue - they quickly aim to solve it/tend to it with the guest's comfort and care as the top priority.
Getting the AC setting right, especially for sleeping, was a challenge. That is more about the equipment and our lack of familiarity with it- - not really the hotel. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Older hotel in need of updating

Clean, nice people, food was good, pool nice but lots of street noise. The mattresses on the beds were very hard and produced back pain for me, my daughter and son-in-law. The linens and pillows were definitely in need of replavement. We moved to a different hotel after 4 days

Fabulous hotel. Very helpful staff. They arranged a Mother's Day cake and flowers for us from our children. Lovely pool. Great breakfast. Near to excellent restaurants. Shuttle into town and free bikes really useful. Highly recommend.

This hotel was fantastic, we loved it the staff were extremely helpful. The food was ordinary at best but everything else was perfect, we would definitely stay again. You are in Hoi An so eating at your hotel is not really the best option anyway. Highly recommended.

Deceitful staff

The staff at Sunshine Hotel take advantage of patrons. We saw it with others, and experienced it ourselves. Hotels are supposed to look out for guests. This one went so far as lying to double the cost of our bus ticket (paying the bus company half) so they could profit, as one example. Looking out for vendors trying to take advantage is one thing, but not being able to trust your hotel is very bad.

Everything was top notch. What i liked the most was the option we had at checkout to take a shower even to have access to the pool. An A+ to the sunshine. If i ever come back to hoi An i will sure book with them again.

Nice hotel in a quiet location

The hotel is situated outside the central tourist area but within walking distance. They provide free bicycles which is a nice way to get around town and to the beach. The free hourly shuttle into the old township is good too. I'd certainly stay again.

I arrived in a beautiful hotel with great staff and super food.I got to my room.A great design.Lovely marble and wood decor that's well finished.
I loved it until l got a funny smell.
Damp.There was damp along the wall from the base of the bed.I drew attention to it,was eventually given another room and although smaller than the beautiful room l had initially it was still quality.I'd definitely return as I'm sure the problem will be dealt with.

Hotel was clean as were both the room and bathroom. Staff very friendly however limited English.
A la Carte meals very inexpensive and quality of food excellent , chef came out at dinner and asked what we wanted to eat etc personal service was excellent.
Only 1 ride to the beach a day could have had more service rides to the beach.
Only gave complimentary tea in the room expected coffee etc.
On the whole very good hotel and worth a visit. Lovely restaurants nearby and very inexpensive.

Awesome place

The Hotel was so comfortable and clean and although we didn't have great weather, the swimming pool was fantastic! The hotel staff would help with any concerns if asked and the free shuttle and bikes were wonderful when the legs had enough of walking.

Clean, comfortable & enjoyable stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Rooms are quite big and clean although The beds are a little hard. Good location, the hotel offers free bicycle rental for you to get around. Close to markets and river. The restaurant onsite has delicious fair priced meals as well as buffet breakfast. Only bad thing was the hotel was under construction so it was very noisy during our stay.

Great stay out of the hustle and bustle.

The hotel was great. Clean, good breakfast buffet, nice pool, hot showers, large rooms, friendly helpfully staff. Only complaint is they were doing construction and it started around 7:30AM. Waking up to a jackhammer isn't the best way to start a day.

I found this hotel to be very average. At times the staff seemed very lazy (though it was very hot during my stay and it's all open air so perhaps they were just exhausted). The spa was underwhelming an breakfast didn't feel fresh though the pool area was very nice and there is a free shuttle bus to town multiple times a day.

I really recommend this hotel. By far, within Vietnam it has been the most friendly and accommodating place I have stayed.
Lee, Tobias and all the staff members were very helpful when booking tours. They were honest about which companies not to go with and went over the top giving me great recommendations to try yummy street food and restaurants. ( They never pushed the most expensive tours, on the contrary they considered my budget and yet I great tours)
For the price, the rooms were big, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good, they offered continental breakfast and Vietnamese food .
Location wise, the hotel is near everything. If you like walking like me you won't be disappointed here.

We really enjoyed this hotel. And actually booked another 3 nights their as we were having difficulties getting transport to move south in Vietnam due to Tet. We loved time location of the hotel it was about a 10 min walk to the old town one direction and a 5-10 minute bike ride to the beach. It was great that the hotel provided free bike rentals as well they did also have a free shuttle bus to town a few times a day. Room was big and nice we had upgraded to have the balcony. Really enjoyed being able to open then doors and get light in the room. Breakfast was more Asian style. Which is really hard to complain about when you are in Asia. But they did have an egg station and lots of fresh fruit.

Food not terribly good. Spa not too good. Free bicycles in bad state of repair. A bit far from downtown to walk. Receptionists not friendly: no smile and only minimally helpful. Only one good meal on lunar new year's morning when a new chef appeared and cooked a beautiful meal. After that it was bad.

Good but with some little annoyances...

Very good hotel. Staff were helpful and breakfast was great. The shower was a nightmare to use, as it didn't like to stay at one temperature. It constantly flicked between warm, scalding and freezing. The bedsheets also came off the bed with the slightest movement which was another little annoyance, but other than that the hotel was good!

A nice, clean and relax hotel with great facility

We stay a night in this hotel to check out Hoi An activities in the evening with spectacular beautiful lantern decoration. We found this hotel very nice and very relax. The hotel is only 2, 3 year old. The buffet breakfast is delicious. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. There is 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel to the town. The hotel provides free transportation to town. We like the balcony and the pool facility of the hotel. The room is spacious.

You Get Suhshine At Sunshine Hotel..Kudos

Had given the attic floor room with nice view of the surrounding and get to see the sun rise. Too bad we had stayed only one night and the beach is not far from the hotel. You could take taxi there and the seafood there were at reasonable price and importantly - delicious and fresh.

Went for the breakfast but were quite disappointed as some of the food were not replenish and there was not food to eat.

Free push bikes for hire + amazing pool.

This is a wonderful hotel, great price, free push bikes to hire, a good distance between Hoi An Center & the two main beaches. The hotel offers a free shuttle throughout the day to the Center of town with return trips + a shuttle to An Bang beach once daily. I would highly recommend it! Free buffet breakfast which is top quality. The restaurant across the road, TinTin's is also fantastic authentic Vietnamese food.

We had a fabulous stay. The hotel was great value for the price and included many extras-- free bikes, breakfast and a lovely pool.

Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. At one point we had very low water pressure which they fixed within minutes!

I also loved the location between central Hoi An and the beach. Would definitely return without hesitation

Sunshine Hotel was comfortable, in a quiet area, pool was excellent, breakfast menu had plenty of choice. Shuttle bus down town was prompt, hire bikes were hard to fault. Tailor Dung across road was very good.

Pool was just what I needed!

The pool is awesome. Breakfast was really good too. The pool is right across from the dining area which was super convienant. A quick bike ride to town but nice and quiet during the morning and at night while trying to relax. Definitely stay here again if I come back to Hoi An!

Great hotel. Very comfortable, in great condition with a fabulous pool. Hotel provides a free shuttle to town, but taxi is only 25,000d otherwise. Room was a generous size with a lovely rain head shower. Had to wait for hot water, but it was 37 degrees outside, so no real concern.

We stayed 4 nights at the Sunshine. The staff were very friendly, and the security guards were so helpful. The breakfast is ok, egg station and plenty of fruit and bread as well as a few local choices. Location is a bit outside the old town, but the free bikes make up for it, great way to get around. They also have a free shuttle a few times a day. Nice pool, but could have better towels. Overall great for the price.

A bit far from the old town, about 15-20 minutes walk. Nice and clean room, comfortable bed, pool looked good (didn't have time to use it). Breakfast was kind of average. They have bicycles you can use, which is quite nice - the traffic is light, so it is a pleasure to ride to town or to the beach.

One issue - the AC blows directly over the bed, so if you don't want to get a cold you have to sweat all night.

The staff were very nice and helpful, the taxi they organized to get us from the train station in Danang was reasonably priced.

Nice hotel excellent value for money

The staff at the sunshine were very helpful and pleasant. The food was excellent. The breakfast buffet plentiful, fresh and tasty. The pool was very clean as was all communal areas. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided.
The hotel is situated within walking distance of the beach and the old town. It takes about 40 minutes for the beach and 25 to the old town. If you don't fancy the walk bicycles are provided free of charge. There is also a free shuttle bus service that runs from the hotel to the old town 4 times a day and to the beach once a day.
A fabulous town with lots to see and do and the sunshine is a fabulous base to do it from. I would highly recommend this place. It is excellent value for money

Great Stay in Hoi An

The hotel was very well-maintained with a beautiful pool and clean rooms. Breakfast was decent with a buffet that included fruit, Asian dishes, bread and omelets. It was about a 25 minute walk to town, but there was a free shuttle a few times a day that was very convenient. Plus a taxi only cost $1 to return. I would definitely return to this hotel!

An Excellent Find

We were here for two weeks over Tet, and because of our longer stay they gave us a free upgrade without asking. The hotel is ca. 1 km from downtown Hoi An in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood with lots of little restaurants and corner stores. Hotel has a free shuttle downtown and to the beach, and has free bicycles available as well. Pool is great, breakfast very good, room was big and in very good condition, staff are friendly and helpful. Only downside was the the housekeeping was a bit indifferent, but not bad.

quiet place as compared to town

Chamber maid need to supervise properly. After cleaning my room they didnt take away the dirty handtowel and give us new bath towel.
Also no shower cap given in this hotel.
The breakfast buffet is great. Serve variety of fruits. The lady make great sunny side eggs.

Lovely hotel, shame about the building work!

The hotel is excellent but for one thing, another hotel is being built next door and the corridors serving the rooms are being used by the builders for carrying materials to the upper floors of the site! Work does not start too early and finishes well before you go to bed, but hammering noises woke us on both mornings and that is far from ideal!

Once the building work is complete, this will rate a gem of a hotel. Nice pool, wonderfully friendly staff, good breakfast (best so far on our tour of Vietnam) and comfortable room; but until that building work is complete, pack earplugs!

Big thanks to Nga,Dinh and Phong, the receptionists. Always ready to help. Nothing is impossible. Nga did all our bookings for onward journey, cancelling our train trip and make new reservation on sleeping bus for sector Hue to Hanoi. Tour bookings became just a breeze. Very satisfied with room and the pool a welcoming sight from our balcony. Free bicycle and the shuttle service provided to city center just add to the fantastic service. We had most of our meals at the hotel restaurant, and there too the service provided by both ladywaiters were at the top. Its without hesitation that i would recommend Sunshine hotel while visiting Hoi An. To all the employees of Sunshine Hotel, keep the great service. You are doing a fantastic job.

A wee secret paradise in Hoi Ann
everything that you would wish for.
Staff very pleasant and couldn't be more helpful.
I found that my charging cable for my phone was faulty ,A staff member said that he would have it replaced within 30 minutes. great service
Suggest you take advantage of the airport pick up service. 300-350 dong . They are there to meet you
on way from hotel to airport we stopped off at the marble mountains for an hour and an extra 100 dong for the stopover. cheap as

Suggest that you give these a go and head down to the beach, only 2 km away
Oh and remember to bring some dong with you as you will need to pay security for your bike ( 10 dong) and to use the beach chairs at the beach. In fact take money wherever you go

great place to relax in Hoi An

Probably my favourite hotel out of everywhere we stayed in vietnam. The rooms have a nice modern decor, with a marble style bathroom and a balcony. The pool is really lovely, particularly in the mornings when it gets the sun. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very helpful and friendly. On top of all this, the seemingly permanent happy hour offering 2-for 1 cocktails, and the reasonably priced food/drinks at the restaurant and in the minibar made for a very refreshing stay!
Would definitely come back here again if returning to Hoi An in future!

Great value. This hotel offered transport to the center city, which is pretty close to begin with. The hotel also offered cheap laundry, a great pool, and a on-site spa.
I'd stay again, the staff were helpful, the breakfast buffet was great, and the beaches close by were really spectacular.

Great hotel. Very cheap with an amazing pool. It was cery hot when we stayed so we were very greatful for the pool.
Just slighty out of the main part of town.
About a ten minute wakk into town however they have a shuttle bus three times a day. Taxis cost barely $1 US $ so cheap. Very clean and spacious rooms

A great choice for visiting Hoi An

I can't really fault anything about it. Great breakfasts, excellent sized rooms, comfortable beds, good showers, free and fast internet (plus 4 PC's that you can use anytime at reception), free bicycle hire, friendly staff and a great pool area. Slightly out from Hoi An ancient town, but it's only a 15 minute stroll - and it's too far for you then ride a free bike into town! Thank you Sunshine Hotel for a terrific stay.

Love the location!

Clean hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast is OK, but not as extensive or good as some places we've stayed. They have laundry and spa services. It is situated between An Bang Beach and Old Town Hoi An. Very safe area. Free shuttle into town several times a day, or cab is very cheap. Room was clean, made up every day, and the bathroom facilities in the room were the best so far on our trip. The pool was also great. We were originally booked in for three days, but extended for another four nights.

We paid for a 'Delux' room and on arrival to our room we realised we'd been given a 'Standard' room. We complained to the manager and nothing was done. Staff were a bit rude and not interested, we walked passed a room being cleaned only to see the cleaners lounging on the bed chatting - very unprofessional! Nice new hotel but a few things that need sorting out. It's also a bit far from Hoi An Town centre.

This was a great find - it's close enough to all the locations (15 min walk to the historic old town of Hoi An & 15-20 mins walk to the beach - they even have a free shuttle that goes periodically to the old town - schedule posted at the front desk). And it was a perfect getaway - clean & the staff was helpful and provide you with maps and water every day. The breakfast buffet was the best I had for the money I paid for this hotel. And the lovely swimming pool was the cherry on top of a an absolute great find.

Good value, nice service

We stayed in all 3 nights. Very good breakfast, friendly staff. The location is abit off but the hotel has bikes for free and even on foot it takes about 10min to the center. Only thing I would like to chnage is how the shower water is handled...I never succeded to get a steady flow a medium warm water and due to the kind of design lots of water runs directly onto the bathroom floor which quickly drains.

Noisy hotel!

Stayed for three nights. The room was spacious and nice, as was the bathroom. Impossible not to flood the bathroom when showering though. There is no soundproofing here at all.can hear every word your neighbours are saying!! The breakfast wasn't great and always a queue for the toaster! Free bikes and free shuttle to town though which is good.

Great hotel with good size bright clean rooms. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Bit of a hike to the beach and town but there are free bicycles to use, a regular shuttle bus and taxis are cheap as chips. Or a healthy walk. Nice residential area away from the noisy town. We extended our stay for 5 more nights. They also have a really nice pool and good food.

Great place!

Very nice hotel, especially for the price. Clean, new rooms. Shower was a little annoying (never a constant temperature) and the bell boy stood in front of me with his hand out after bringing our bags up until I literally shoed him out of the room. I don't mind tipping but not when it's demanded!
Hotel is a little ways from town but they give free bikes. Still I would have liked to have been closer. But overall very happy!

Absolutely one of the best!!

When making reservations online, I read the reviews and make my decisions from them.

We had just left a hotel in Da Nang, where I did the same....and the experience was terrible. I was nervous to see if I made two bad choices in a row!!

We arrived early, about 10AM and were greeted warmly. Our room was not ready, but we were invited to have breakfast in the dining room. The buffet was so much better than the one we had just left in Da Nang 40 minutes before.

Long story short....I have traveled all over Asia for over 15 years and this is maybe the best tourist hotel I have ever experienced. They have all the bases covered. Our room and the service was excellent. My new hotel in Hoi An.

Nice room and good food...but

The room was very nice as was the hotel. The restaurant overlooked the pool and served very good food. Food was a little more $$ than some local restaurants but very good. The hotel is a bit out of the way and took us about 20 mins to walk downtown but it was a nice walk and probably a cheap taxi. One thing that bothered me but was not a big deal was that they sort of in a roundabout way kept our passports for collateral. They asked to check them, then told us we would get them back in a bit. Then after asking for them a few hours later under the ruse of needing the passport numbers for a flight booking they let me get the #'s and write them down and admitted they were holding them for any damages.The Hotel was absolutely great in every way but this passport thing turned me off and I would probably not stay there again unless they changed their policy or tact in holding passports as collateral.

Clean rooms but front desk not very helpful

The rooms were really clean, comfortable and had great showers. The location is a bit far from the centre but there are free bikes to borrow to get around so that isn't such a big deal. The only downside was that the staff were particularly unhelpful with buying bus tickets. We arrived from Hue on the cheap bus and knew the conditions and thought they were fine. When we wanted to buy tickets back to Hue the man at the front desk kept telling us that we needed to buy the expensive tickets because the cheaper bus wasn't good. We told him that we knew the condition of the cheaper bus and that is was fine. He tried to guilt us into paying more, even after we told him we lived in Vietnam and knew the condition of the bus. We ended up purchasing the tickets in town and had a really nice trip back to Hue. The man at the hotel was quite dishonest with us, even after we told him we were aware of what we wanted, what the price is and what level of comfort that afforded us. This left us with a bad taste in our mouths and I think that with the variety of hotels in Hoi An, we don't need to come back to this hotel.

Cool place to hangout

Really new hotel about 1km max from the old town of Hoi An. Really friendly staff in a quiet area off the main road into town. Two really good local but tourist orientated restaurants within 30secs walk of the front door of the hotel. I recommend Tin Tin Restaurant over the other but each to their own. Nice pool area although we didnt swim (as it was a bit cooler temp wise for us after having spent 2mths in SE Asia) but the pool looked nice. Good breaky in the morning with a choice of eggs, toast, fruit, salad, juice/smoothies as well as some asian options. Free bicycles to go into town (5min) or to the beach (15min). Good price for airport pickups and dropoffs. Highly recommend this place. Good if you are totally over cheap 1star guesthouses and hostels like we were. Probably more of a 3.5 star hotel provided standards dont slip.

Would recommend to everyone!

We were delighted with our stay at Sunshine Hotel. The beds were very comfortable, and rooms set out well. Great shower, wifi and fittings. The hotel is around a 7 minute bike ride from the main old town area. This didn't bother us at all. We hired the free bikes from the hotel everyday and bombed around. There is also a free shuttle option - but we didn't use this. Breakfast was ok, a good selection, fruits, hot options and an egg/ omlete station. Staff very helpful. computers downstairs. One tip was I thought booking taxi's etc from reception was a bit overpriced. Apart from that I was very very happy with this hotel!

Awesome Stay!

My mate and I just stayed at sunshine hotel for one week! We loved the location, it's about 1km out of the old town but the hotel gives you bikes for free to use. It takes like 5 mins on the bike or 15mins on foot.
The hotel is clean, with big rooms and lovely balconies that look over the rice fields and neighbourhood!
Our room was cleaned daily, beds were super comfy, air con was great, breakfast was brilliant - fresh omelettes, fruit and Asian foods! The swimming pool is lush, clean and perfect for Arvo swimming because its out of the sun!
All the staff at sunshine were lovely, saying hello and goodbye daily and asking what we had been up too! They also organize airport transfers for us!
You must go and visit two of the wonderful resturants on the street, TinTin and I Think you like, both owned by lovely vietnamese families! Great food and cheap prices!
Hoi An is such a wonderful place and sunshine hotel was the perfect spot for us! Real value for money!

Great place to stay....

Had a wonderful time staying here for 8 days.....it was recommended by friends of mine from Vancouver who live in Hoi An.....the hotel is only 1 year old so it was bright and fresh.....the rooms were spacious and the bed very comfortable....the breakfast was really good and the dining room was situated facing onto the pool .....it was gorgeous....the hotel is situated about 15 minutes walking from the old part of town or if you like the hotel supplies bicycles for free and it takes 5 minutes.....there is a river in the town and it is a very idyllac setting.....go there at night it is beautiful.....It is my favourite place in Vietnam and I would go there before any other place....the beach is called An Bang Beach and is a 15 minute bicycle ride from the hotel....easy to find and lots of restaurants....my friends took me to the Soul Kitchen Restaurant on the beach.....they have live music and jam sessions quite often or you can play pool for free.....I had agreat time
