No shampoo or ice. Holes on top sheet. Staff blamed owner. Also, leg on chair not stable. It was disappointing but that does explain the somewhat reasonable rate. Finally, the breakfast was low end for a “buffet”…….pre formed eggs and small sausage patties. Only dairy in gallon jugs. Again, not the worst but definitely read reviews before relying on the pretty pictures and flowery descriptions.

My stay was terrible from the start. Check-in felt rushed and the receptionist seemed uninterested. My room had no kettle, so I had to wait at reception just to get hot water for drinks. The bed was uncomfortable and I’ve developed a rash on my back. The toilet constantly kept refilling — I reported it multiple times but nothing was fixed until water spilled everywhere. I was moved to another room, but by then I’d had enough. Staff generally seemed unconcerned. I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this hotel.

This has become my go-to hotel for my weekly stays in Pierre. The rooms are clean enough and comfortable, and there is at least one staff member I am always glad to see. Unfortunately, however, during my most recent stay, May 18-19, I forgot a black, leather skinny belt in one of the bureau drawers of the room I was checked into. By the time I realized I had forgotten my belt, it was gone, with at least two hotel employees, one of them apparently being the manager, informing me that housekeeping staff members always thoroughly check rooms for items left behind by guests but had not found my belt, alluding that the guest or guests who had stayed in the room after I checked out might have stolen my belt. But, if the hotel's claim that housekeeping employees consistently search rooms for items left behind by guests, then it would undeniably stand to reason that a housekeeping employee stole my belt. So, I will no longer be recommending this property to anyone. Leave nothing behind, especially anything of great value, when checking out of this hotel.

They had a stack of previously used door keys in previosly used door keys envelopes in a pile on the desk.
The man checking me in had to sort through this pile to find my key.
The juice machine for breakfast didn't work. The employee said it has a mind of its own and it comes and goes as far as working.
The eggs and sausge wre cold.
Pump coffee dispenser was dirty.
They 2 employees I had contack with acted like you were bothering then.
The luggage cart was old and small.

Staff was not professional or even there needed them several times for different problems and each time no one was at the desk and had to call them and wait for them to arrive which at one point we were told would be right there and 25 minutes later finally after another guest called who was waiting also finally showed up.

Once in our room couldn’t find the T.V remote anywhere after asking the front desk about this and being told by them that it was in my room somewhere just have to look for it, they found the one assigned to our room in the drawer which the back was broke on it, they handed it to me went to use it didn’t work. So had to go back to the front desk where the worker finally came up to the room and tried to reprogram a new remote which after all said and done you could only change the channel and nothing else.

The air conditioner in the room was unplugged when we arrived so we plugged it in and used once the room was cooled down we tried to shut it off but it wouldn’t obviously the reason why it was unplugged.

Lastly even though I paid for my room thru hotels.com completely they charged me again which they told me they didn’t until I proved it to them and then was finally refunded the second charge they day after.

And the room had lots of broken items in the room.

The heat wouldn't come on in my room at the annex building. I was moved to another room and the same issue. I ended having to go to the local dollar store and purchase a space heater to warm up the room.
I didn't want to have to move my belongings again because I am handicap and am limited and it is painful to walk.

The water damaged walls in the bathroom need to be repaired before you allow anyone else to stay in that room. Very nasty. The breakfast food was not ready at 6:30 AM and when it was finally available it was cold. The coffee was also cold. Aside from the nasty walls in the bathroom the place was fairly clean.

The staff was curtious, the room was clean, good value. There were mechanical issues in our room with electrical and the tv. The outlet behind the bed was half hanging out of the wall and the outlet on the light fixture next to the bed sparked and was loose. The cable box in our room didn't work and the girl at the front desk didn't know how to fix it. When we checked out I told the young gentleman at the front desk, he said it was because contractors stay in rooms for extended periods and bring gaming systems to hook up to tv. When they do this they change the tv input. If this is a widely known problem then all employees should be trained on how to fix it.
Breakfast was ok. The eggs and sausage where frozen items warmed up in the microwave so it was rubbery and greasy. The waffles were good.
The water pressure was good. Thankful that they are pet friendly for big dogs, however the staff that works nights need to remember to not talk loud on the phone in the hallways at night or early morning. Our room was right across from housekeeping area and staff would talk loud in hallway on the phones which then caused our dogs to bark in the middle of night.
When we checked into our room the heat was set on 80 and it was ridiculously hot in there. We immediately turned off the heat and opened a window. The whole time we were there it was in 40's and 50's during the day (in December) we never ran the heat because it was so hot in rest of hotel which heated our room.

The continental breakfast was on the sketchy side and there was black on the eggs (not sure why or what it was, but they didn't taste great). There were flys everywhere in the lobby, so not sure what that was about. Hotel hallways were a little dirty. The hotel room itself was fine, but nothing fancy. I may stay here again, but management needs to up their maintenance on the place.

At check in, no one was at the desk. I picked up the phone as instructed by a sign that was posted. The front desk lady got up from a lobby chair and said \"im the one that will assist you\" as she watched me walk in. Proceeded to tell me \"whe had a headache and hates when people spam the phone.\" She was also extrememly unclean, strong body odor, sloppy and overall unprofessional. Our room was clean, but the bathroom/shower room lightbulb had burned out. My husband went to the front desk to get a replacement so he could just change it. The front desk told him she didnt know where to get lightbulbs and would have maintenance come do it when they got there, within an hour. No one came.
So after camping and hunting for 2 days, we chose to take showers in the dark.
The morning of checkout was great. The gal working was great at her job, cared what guests needed and ensured everyone was taken care of. She needs a raise, others need to be cut loose.

There was a sign that read “ pick up phone for service “ I did and then and only then did she get off the couch . We filled out one paper with all the info I gave on Expedia again . Then she gives us another page to write the same information as we just wrote so this would have been 3 times . When I remarked she could just copy the info onto other paper she replies “ I am only doing my job and I don’t need any attitude from you ! We left and went somewhere else.

I did have a good stay but the condition of the facility was lacking. I noticed several things that we not kosher. The exercise room had laundry baskets full of laundry setting in there, the tv didn't work, things were just dirty in there. In the breakfast area, old food in the chair cushions. Bags of garbage setting in the hallway into the evening. I did notice my room was not as clean as it normally is, carpet. The second day I was there the electricity was out for a lot of the breakfast appliances. I felt sorry for the staff they could not get ahold of anyone to come and look at the electrical problem. I was just shocked at how much the hotel has gone downhill. I was told the manager is somewhere in TX starting up another hotel so she was not available. Someone needs to get some responsibility and get that place looking and working like it should.
May think before staying again. I've always enjoyed staying at the Baymont, it just works for me.

My wife and I stayed in Pierre as part of our 20-day travel across the US and Canada. All hotels were within this price point, but this had to be our lowest experience.

I cringed when I noticed the pest strip full of dead flies hanging directly above the serving dishes for eggs and sausage.

The front door entrance was propped fully openwhen we arrived and was still propped open when we went to bed at 11:15 p.m.. It was open again when we got up at 6:00 a.m., so I can only assume it was left open all night. That normally wouldn't be a problem, except it didn't appear that anybody maintains the front desk. My wife and I sat and watched TV for 10 minutes while we rang the bell waiting for service at 5:10 pm when we arrived. In fact, I had started calling the reservation desk on my phone to try and get their attention...when the lady eventually appeared. She had been in her room down the hall making her dinner. An hour later when I came out to ask about Wi-Fi, I had to get the information from another hotel guest, because the front desk had no one there and they were not responding to the Bell.

What this Motel offered was disappointing. Both their website, and Expedia, list that there are laundry facilities available to guests. We were told that was never the case when we arrived.

Both my wife and I were scalded in the shower as the cold water came and went.

In the morning, we had to exit the motel through the housekeeping area, after the ice machine flooded the hall.

The person at the desk was wearing a stained and sloppy t-shirt with no bra despite definitely needing one. It was really unkempt and made us question even staying. This property sets a new low for economy hotels. Throughout my stay, I only saw someone at the front desk twice. There were poop stains on the sheets. The sink was partially clogged and took four hours to drain when used. The exhaust fan was as loud as a motorcycle. Finally, the breakfast area was dirty, and what little food was there was inedible. I will not be staying at this chain ever again.

Morning lady working the desk was extremely rude and treated us as if we were an inconvenience to her. She wanted to check my ID when I came into the lobby the 2nd morning we stayed there not believing I was a guest. 1/2 an hour later I went to the lobby to get a cup of coffee before hitting the road and chastised and told that breakfast wasn't open for another 30 minutes. Customer service was not her strong suit. Ice machine was leaking (and apparently had been for some time), the lobby bathroom toilet was was leaking water on the floor. Room was clean but the property has declined in the past couple of years.

I had to use the phone provided to get someone to finally come to the front desk when I checked in around 9 pm. The TV was on when we entered the room. To turn it off we had to unplug it from the wall. There were no cups in the room which makes it hard to take medications both evening and morning. It was below the standards usually expected from a Baymont /Wyndham property.

They gave us our room and we got the air conditioner going and headed out to get something to eat. When we got back the air conditioner was making a loud noise. We notified the desk and she came and agreed it was loud and moved us to a new room. It was nice to have it settled quickly and with no fuss.

I received email requesting that I complete check in information so that I wouldn’t have to do it when checking in. At check in I had to provide the same information all over again.

Very friendly staff, very kind. Injured my knee on our trip. She very kindly moved us from upstairs to a downstairs unit. We didn't even ask, saw my oain and just did it.
