This was a beautiful hotel very convenient for the ferry parking lot into Venice . Ferry terminal is approximately 20 minutes away. The staff was incredible and quite helpful. Restaurant on site was perfect. The breakfast spread was more than satisfactory. We got 2 rooms and the only issue in need of improvement is an AC- the rooms are spacious with a very high ceiling. You need a car since the hotel is located in a village far from stores or restaurants. Excellent stay !

This is a superb property just outside Venice. Location is ideal for either a train into Venice or to drive to the Park & Ride. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and could quickly accommodate our request for a change in bed configuration. It is in a quiet suburb and breakfast on the terrace was very relaxing. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and the best cappuccino we have had in Italy! The suite was spacious, air conditioned, immaculate and well maintained. The photos in the listing do not do justice to this Venetian hotel and it definitely deserves its excellent rating.

This is a great hotel in a nice quiet village close to both Venice and Padua. Very classy, comfortable rooms with modern amenities and delicious breakfast.

Most importantly, the people who work there are amazing. I've never felt more welcomed. Since i made my reservation, they have stayed in touch with me to ensure every detail is taken care of and to turn our stay into a special experience.

AN OASIS IN VENETO

Upon arrival the reception area was welcoming and we were met with pleasant staff who explained everything and showed us to our room. The room and bathroom were clean and the air conditioner was on so that the room was fresh and not stuffy.
Breakfast was plentiful with a choice of fresh fruits, cakes, yoghurts, jams, breads, cheese and salami/proscuito. Espresso coffee was well made and there was no trouble if you wanted a second cup.
Good restaurant adjacent to the hotel and plenty of parking.
An oasis in the Veneto region close to Chioggia, Venezia, Padua and many other interesting towns in the Veneto region.
A car is needed if you want to stay here, but those exploring the region would most likely arrive by car.

The welcome was outstanding, the young lacy on reception could not have done more to be helpful. The rooms were fine, without anything to make them stand out from the run of the mill. We were on the first floor and there us no lift. The place itself is well off the beaten track – we arrived after the restaurant closed and it was a 15 min drive to the nearest place to eat – so a car is probably essential. Good value for money.

Amazing hotel for great price!

After staying a week at a Hilton in Rome where we had a horrible experience, coming here was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly, they had a decent breakfast spread for free, and a delicious restaurant next door. The hotel is about 35 min outside of Venice, but the train is within a 5 min walk from the hotel, and very easy to use. The only problem is, the last train from Venice leaves around 8:30pm, but that ended up working out fine for us.

The staff at this hotel could give 5-star hotels a run for their money. When we got there, the woman at the front desk helped us with our luggage, got us some food since the restaurant was closed, and was overall amazing throughout the weekend. I was sick during our stay, and the morning desk clerk, prepared food for me every morning on a tray to have sent up to my room, which is going above and beyond what was necessary. On our last day, we needed to drag our very heavy luggage to the train station, but they offered to drive us there, free of cost in their own personal car, which was the nicest thing ever.

I couldn’t recommend this place more and honestly, if I ever go back to Venice, I will be staying here again! It was amazing.

Would not recommend if planning on going to Venice

We decided to stay at this hotel to save some money and commute to Venice for the two days we were there as it was only a 40 minute train ride to get there. However, when we had to get from the hotel to the airport we opted for the 24-hour shuttle service that the hotel offered as we had an early morning flight. When we asked the staff for a 4 am shuttle, we were told that she doesn't know whether the driver would come that earlier and asked us if 4:30am was fine. We agreed and she told us to confirm the next morning. When we went to feont desk the woman at the counter did not recieve a confirmation and said she would contact the driver and to confirm at night. We finally were able to confirm, but the morning of our flight the shuttle did not show up. Since the trains don't run so early in the morning, we ended up calling two taxi companies, one of which said our hotel was too far out of Venice. The other agreed to pick us up for €90. So much for saving money.

The hotel location is quite nice, but the area is outside Venice and needs commuting. Public transportation is not available in late evening, so if you plan to visit Venice, the location is not quite practical. Though the hotel is cheaper than those in Venice, you have to add the cost of commuting which will reach around 40 Euros per trip by taxi. Upon arrival, we had a miscommunication and at first we were informed that our reservation is not valid, but then this was sorted out. Make sure to leave anything precious inside the safe in the room.

We were not in the main house, so our room lacked the charm of the photos on the website and it was positioned next to the car park which meant we were wide awake by 7am when people started moving. Like most other places we've stayed in Italy, the shower was small. But it was very clean and the staff were incredibly helpful. Excellent value overall.

Don't stay anywhere else!!!

What a gem!!!!
My daughter and I spent four nights here after reading all the excellent reviews. It didn't disappoint.
Rooms are spotlessly clean. And I mean not a speck of dirt. Anywhere.
The staff are incredibly helpful despite the language difference.
You can purchase train tickets to Venice at the hotel, which we did each day. We also hired their bikes for only 5 Euro each and cycled to nearby quaint villages.
The breakfast is simply lovely. Cold meats and cheeses plus a selection of fresh breads and cakes made by the hotel staff. Espresso coffees made to order too at no extra charge.
The restaurant next door is so convenient after a long day in Venice. It's very affordable and the food is beautifully prepared. The staff are friendly and approachable and ooze rural Italian hospitality.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely establishment.

Beautiful Hotel; amazing staff!

This hotel is not in Venice, which turns out is a blessing. Stay in a nice, big, comfy hotel with amazing staff and wonderful free breakfasts! Beat the crowds at night and enjoy a cozy dinner in their amazing restaurant. The train to Venice takes about a half hour and is €7.50 round trip per day! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking, great find and a nice non touristy feel! You'd do well to stay with these amazingly helpful and friendly Italians! :)

Thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay here. Excellent staff that actually came and picked me up one evening when I took the wrong bus back from Venice. Easy train ride to and from the city. About a 5 minute walk to the station. Quiet, relaxing, just what was needed! Good restaurant next door too.

The hotel itself was very nice and staff was very friendly but location is too far away from Venice Grand Canal. It's 40 min local train ride from the Grand Canal into the hotel and the trains run on limited schedule too. After we get off the station we still have to walk about 10 min or less, there's no real direction or any advertisement of the hotel pointing where to go. There's really no people walking on the streets to ask for direction just some cars drove by it's very residential area. We got there the first night around 9 at night with no direction or street signs directing us where to go and not a person in sight we were totally lost, until we walk by one older lady to asked for direction and of course she only speaks Italian and me and my friend don't speak a word of Italian. So, we had to relay on body sign language. Fortunately for us she was so kind to drive us over there. We were on the wrong side of the streets and we were walking further away from the hotel if we didn't run into this kind lady. It was pretty scary two women walking in the dark quiet street with our luggage in a foreign country and had no idea which direction we were going. It's a great hotel if your traveling by car.

The hotel is 5 min walking to the train station (Casello 8) this is the great advantage, you can buy train tickets from the reception. The staff was very helpful.
The breakfast is good. The wifi is good at the reception hall, and slow in the room.

There's a train station less than 10 mins from this Hotel when you can catch a train to Venice and back (frequency is once every hour and costs € 3.75 one way). Hotel sells train tickets if you want. very nice hotel out of the hustle and bustle of Venice. It is very easy to get to Venice by train. It's a short walk up the street and the staff will tell you how to get to the station. They also sell the tickets for the train for 3.75 euro each way. The train takes you directly to the main train station in Venice and you walk outside and there is the Grand Canal. You can catch water buses or water taxis to wherever you would like to go in Venice. There is a restaurant on site as well. We ate dinner there a few times. The staff is VERY accommodating. Breakfast is lovely in the morning on the patio. Internet is good and free. Very clean. Good water pressure in bathrooms too. Lovely place and such friendly staff. I will definately stay here again if I ever come to Veince again! Loved this place.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The room was perfect for a family of four. it had a very nice bathroom. They even did our laundry for a nominal cost. We didn't have a car but the train station was 4 minutes by walking. We were able to buy our train station tickets to Venice at the hotel which was nice. We loved the countryside. The hotel was quiet and away from all the Venice noise. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights while visiting Venice. The train is easy access into Venice. The breakfast was lovely and a good selection of food. The rooms were quite small for 4 people as we had two roll-aways added to the room. The beds were comfortable though. The town was very quiet when we stayed around christmas but we had two good dinners in the restaurant next to the hotel.

Breakfast is a treat. The restaurant is good for dinner. Parking spaces is available at no extra cost, even in a location to be overviewed from the room.

This hotel is fantastic. Its spotlessly clean. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Our room was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was a vast choice of breads, croissants, cakes, cheese and cold meats, fresh fruits, cereals etc and the coffee s freshly prepared by a lovely lady. The hotel is approx 40 mins from the centre of Venice by train - the station is at the end of the road - and its costs just 3.5 euros. And the restaurant next door is excellent. I really cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!

Most of the staff speak excellent English and are very helpful supplying local information/maps etc

The room was of a good size and very clean, free room safe. Good selection for the continental breakfast.

There is a good restaurant next to the hotel, or just get a takeaway pizza

We hired a car from the airport and also visited the surrounding areas and villas, roads were quiet and easy to navigate on. Beautiful countryside.

Recommended for value for money for visiting spectacular Venice but nice and quiet to relax in the evenings

Belated Honeymoon- great place to stay

We stayed in this hotel from the 22/09/2014 for 7 nights and could not fault the hotel or its staff. The room was great and very clean and the staff spoke very good English which was fantastic considering our Italian was very poor. The breakfast was plentiful and had a lot of choice. Even though the hotel is outside of venice we wanted somewhere quiet to relax and this fulfilled that and more. I even managed to get myself and my husband lost one night and the staff came and picked us up and brought us back to our hotel. The train is very regular and is only €3.75 each way per person and you can buy these tickets from the hotel. We only ate at the hotels restaurant one night but the food was brilliant, if you order a pizza though it is not a small portion so I did have problems managing all mine.

It stars with the service. The young lady that checked us in went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and deal with any issues that came up. The internet wasn't working well so she let us use her laptop and printed off various items we needed during our stay. Breakfast was a treat and the outdoor seating in the morning was very pleasant. Very nice rooms with beamed ceilings that gave it a unique look. Very clean bathrooms. Not the easiest to find but worth the trip.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We choice it because we wanted to be close to Venice but not in the center of tourist area. While driving to the hotel we were a little wary because it was in a local area where it appeared that no hotels were located. When we finally arrive the hotel staff were terrific, they told where we could get a train directly into Venice for Seven Euros return trip. The room were perfect for our needs. The hotel food was excellent at the restuarant located on site. The breakfast which they provided was also excellent. The distance from Venice should not deter you as it an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Venice

Excellent location and peaceful hotel

The Hotel Abbazia was one of our favorite hotels during our recent trip to Italy. It is perfectly located by the Santa Lucia train station, yet it is a very peaceful and quiet hotel. It is easy to reach on foot with your luggage as there are no bridges to cross from the train station. The breakfast was amazing with a great deal of variety, including meats and cheeses, fabulous pastries, eggs, all kinds of juices and other delicacies. Everyone at the reception desk was friendly, helpful with any information and spoke many languages. Reaching the various sites of Venice is easy from this hotel by either walking or catching the Vaporetti close by. Our room was lovely, the beds were excellent and the bathroom was very modern and comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to return for another stay.

Great place to stay!

This hotel was great for travelers who don't like to be in the middle of tourist nightmare Venice. It was a few minute walk from Casello 8 train station. Your ticket is not Trenitalia..it is a regional train whose ticket you can by at the newsstand at the Venice S. L. train station. You still catch the train at that station though. Once you get off at Casello 8 go to the main road with stoplight...turn left and the hotel is on your right. There are some great little Pizzerias in the main town that you can walk to...actually the best pizza we had in Italy came from a little shop there. A good day trip would be to take the bus to Santo Marina Beach in Chiaggio. You can take a bus (the hotel staff was AWESOME and very helpful...they will drive you to the newstand to get the ticket then drive you to the bus stop...and come and pick you up later). We stayed here without renting a car and were totally fine. The breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed our experience here.

Nice charming hotel in quaint town

Great stay. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and helpful. Receptionist (Ariana ?) was very nice and spoke very good English. Town was very charming and not a tourist destination.. Only a 7-10 minute walk to train station. Restaurant at the hotel was very nice and food was 5 star! Would recommend staying here. Enjoyed being outside the city of Venice. Train was about 35 min ride into Venice. Highly recommend and would stay again.

A lovely, clean, simple hotel, a convenient train ride from Venice. The restaurant didn't blow us away but couldn't really fault the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and our room was beautiful

Perfect Hotel

We could not have asked for a better hotel on our 5 day trip to Venice. Car hire from Marco Polo airport & a 30 minute drive to the hotel which has free parking & wifi. The staff are extremely friendly and always willing to help. The Antica is very clean & tidy and our room was spotless everyday. The restaurant attached to the hotel had a great selection of Italian food (inc pizza) at good prices & fantastic taste. The breakfast buffett was well stocked every morning with plenty of choice. The Antica is situated halfway between Venice & Chioggia beach (well worth a visit). If your looking for a trip to Venice then this hotel will not disappoint.

Lovely hotel,perfect place to stay,nice and quiet

Very nice hotel,would definitely recommend it.The hotel is 4 years old, almost brand new,very clean and kept well.Staff is helpful,it's actually a family hotel and run by the family.It's more like 5 stars rather than 3.Breakfast is very good.You can have a dinner in the restaurant which is next building at affordable prices huge pizzas for 7-10 euros.Train station is 5 minutes walk from the hotel.It takes about 35-40 minutes to Venice.You can rent a car the best way,because the taxis are the most expensive in the world.We rented a car and it was very easy to go around.At the end of our holiday some accident happen with my son on the actual airport so we had to take him to the hospital.From the airport to the hospital is 5 km journey and I've been charged 45 euros for a taxi and 47 euros on the way back to the airport.I haven't been given a receipt from the taxis and I can't claim that from my travel insurance.Avoid using a taxi,very expensive.I have rented a car through Expedia for 4 days it cost me 64.63£ for Fiat Panda which does the job.Overall the hotel is great.Much better than staying in Venice because it's so busy around there.From the airport by car to the hotel is 22 miles about 30-40 minutes drive.Would definitely recommend the hotel.One minus the restaurant there is no menu in English so you need to gues or ask the staff for translation.Will definitely go to the same hotel if going back to Venice.It is a great place to visit!

We stayed at Antica Corte Marchesini for 6 night: the hotel is excellent, spotless clean and new. The staff is helpful and very professional. Breakfast is very good.
The hotel location is excellent to visit nearby Venice, Padova and the whole Riviera del Brenta

Very nice hotel. Excellent room and breakfast!

My daughter and I came to visit Venezia. Hotels are very expensive in the city itself. I chose this hotel based on its review and can highly recommend it! Breakfast is fantastic! No problem if you have a car, if not than it's 40 min away by a local train from Venezia. To get to this hotel get off on Cocello 8 stop and walk for 3-4 min to hotel!

Weekend in Venice

I was very impressed with the hotel and staff. They met or exceded all of our expectations. Price was very good, you are about 40 minutes from Venice by train. No worries about parking. We checked out and were allowed to leave our car while we went back to Venice.

This was great hotel stay. The staff were great and although our room was a budget rate, it was clean spacious and met all our expectations. Breakfast was lovely, tastefully presented with a traditional feel. It was close to public transport and accessible to Venice.

Nice hotel for visiting Venice

The staff were amazing. We had a problem with our hire car and the staff helped us out by making phone calls on our behalf by speaking in Italian when needed to try and resolve our problem. We would not have been able to do this without their help. Breakfast was delicious, varied and included savoury items as well as home made cakes, yogurt and fruit. Very plentiful. Best breakfast we experienced in our 3 weeks in Italy. A few English speaking tv channels. On site restaurant food good.

This hotel was excellent all round; quiet and peaceful with efficient, helpful, friendly staff, a high standard of cleanliness, nice breakfast and comfortable room.
It is 40 minutes on the suburban train from the old city of Venice so don't stay here if you want to be at the centre of things. However, the trains are quiet, clean and quite cheap (6.50 Euro round trip) and I enjoyed the peace and quiet of getting well off the beaten track at the end of every day. Hotels in the suburbs are also considerably cheaper than those in the old city. Last train back in the evening is 20:34 but there is also a later bus at 22:15.

1) in our room the toilet bowl was so awkwardly placed we might have to remove our legs to sit on it...
2) eggs were hard...
So there was to say the truth everything perfect minus one ...

Very good family hotel

Away from the hectic environment of Venice, but close enough to get there in a 30 min train ride. Is a clean place with a very good restaurant beside. Apart from couple misshaps (seems like an inexperience crew), the food was fenomenal.

Very modern and clean, friendly and helpful staff.

The room was very new, modern, and clean (maybe a litte clinical, but still good value for money and as I say clean). The breakfast was good, catered for all tastes, cornflakes, toast and continental choices. Coffee was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing to bear in mind is the train into Venice from the hotel. It is 5 mins walk from hotel, reliable and cheap but a bit slow - 35/40 mins into Venice. Also the last train is 8.34pm. A bit tight if you want an evening meal in Venice. Plus in a morning to get into Venice if you miss the 9am ish train there is not another one till 10.42am. Still a very good value hotel.

Clean hotel, nice quiet area, car drive to Venice

The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. They explained us a lot about the local area to visit, Venice, etc. If you have a car , it is very easy to reach Venice (20min drive), or you can take the train. They sell train tickets at the reception desk. The rooms were spacious enough.
We slept next to the entrance door and the walls are not very well insolated, which gave us a lot of noise from people wallking in and out.
