Very underwhelming. Limited restaurant selection that never said reservations required but by 730pm, they were full for the evening. This limited us to the buffet for dinner. Also, even though RIU owns two properties side by side you cannot visit the restaurants at the other resorts

The entertainment at night was mediocre at best. What was labeled as a comedy show was just a game show. There was little humor in it.

The beach and pool were clean but patrons reserved seats very early and were never removed after the two hour time limit even though it is clearly marked as being the rule. This led to limited good seating

The staff was the best part. Always helpful and accommodating. This was pretty much the only part that exceeded expectations.

The property was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The only thing we were disappointed in was the process they used to get into the restaurants. We did not like the fact that you had to wait in line to get into the steak house. Even waiting in line didn’t guarantee you would get a seat. The last thing I want to do on vacation is wait in line every night for dinner if I want something other than the buffet. We have stayed at other RIU resorts where you can make reservations ahead of time for your trip then no time is wasted.

Booked an oceanfront rooms with two beds as we were having a guys trip. The hotel tried putting us in rooms with only one bed and no privacy for the bathroom. When we brought the issue up to the front desk management they lied to us originally stating that they had no double bed rooms for oceanfront and blamed Expedia for the mix up. They then downgraded our rooms to oceanview with no compensation. Later they told us that the rooms that we had reservations for were booked by others until the next day and finally moved two sets of people in our group up to the rooms that were originally booked (mind you, we all booked over 6 months in advance). On checking out, we did hear other vacationers had the same issues as us.

The rooms were not consistent between us as some had amenities that the others didn’t.

The gym is disgusting and dangerous, the machines for weight lifting will leave stains on your hands that takes a bit of time to scrub clean. The equipment also shows signs of lack of maintenance as one bike sounded like the tread was off and making additional thumping sounds when a person was using it. The cables on the standing weight machines also needs to be corrected and tightened.

As for the pools, we found at least the pool that was connected to the bar had plants growing out of the drain on the bottom of the pool.

The restaurants/bars were great and the people staffing those areas were very friendly and knowledgeable, going above and beyond.

RIU Palace Antillas is an awesome all inclusive. Clean, great food and love how close it is to downtown. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the beach attendants were not very friendly and the fact that you had to cut your day short to stand in line for dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants since they dont accept reservations.

The room was nice and bright, and very clean! Though it could have used some touch up spots to cover scuff marks. The conditioner in the shower was amazing! First resort that has had really good conditioner! Every person there, from the front desk to, bartenders and wait staff and cleaning lady we're OUTSTANDING AND VERY FUN AND FRIENDLY! Having to get up at 6am just to reserve a chair and lounge at the beach is absurd. Also, the 4 restaurants are realistically not available for most guests unless you want to wait on a long line at 5:30pm just to hope you can get in is ridiculous.

The room was nice and clean with ok view. The rest not so much. The room t’stat is limited temperature, cockroaches in the hallway and elevator lobby, low food quality so have a strong stomach and the restaurants were no better, drinks are small and 2 drink limit at the bar, room keys don’t always work and have to be replaced often even more than once a day, and make sure your reservation is accurate because they don’t care and will overcharge you to gain access to the facility. I will never stay here and possibly never in a RIU again. I travel often and this is at the bottom of my all inclusive experience.

Hotel room wasn’t as nice as the pictures. I upgraded for an Oceanview and had a partial view. Room service took forever each day with cleaning. Three people in a room and at times didn’t provide adequate towels. The bartender at the Main Entrance was the bomb.com! Loved Freddy’s energy, conversation, and attention to all guests he served!! Va Va was my absolute favorite, personality, personality, personality. Super helpful and took care of anything I needed!!

This is a very very busy party atmosphere Hotel if that’s your thing.
If you want a Palapa, you need to be down at the beach by 6 AM if you wait till 8 am you are out of luck.
You can’t make reservations at any restaurants so be prepared to wait in line.
The breakfast buffet was good with a large selection of items. The food overall was good.
The bar service was interesting. We came with our own travel mugs, which they refused to fill, although they did allow us to order drinks and pour them into our own cups. We were limited to two drinks at a time.
Incredibly frustrating was the fact that our room key consistently failed. Every time we needed to go to our room, we had to go to the front desk for a new key.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Fred and Nelson at the beach bar. They certainly made our New Year’s a night to remember.

We didn't understand that we had to arrange our own airport transportation. Italian restaurant Chicken parmesan seemed to be made from a slicing machine, never saw so little chicken. Had to wait in line for Steak restaurant or get turned away, while elite guests who had their own private restaurants were reserved in our restaurant. Not enough details about entertainment, and night music was too loud. Inclusive snorkel equipment should be at least daily, not for one hour and have to check in every hour.

The room was nice. Not to be deceived by the photos- my ocean view wasn’t quite what I expected but beyond the unpleasant view, the housekeeping staff continued to ensure my needs were tended to. The choice of food at the buffet was delicious. I dined in the Elite restaurant for a friend’s birthday dinner; while it was nice, there were better options on the buffet however the small, intimate ambiance was nice. Overall with regards to the location, the service and the competitive rates- I’d definitely return.

The hotel is supposed to be adults only but there were toddlers in the beach area.
I was not able to have dinner one evening, as the restaurants are first-come-first-serve and apparently even the buffet-style Italian restaurant was “at capacity” at 6:30pm, so I went to bed hungry. At another restaurant (the steakhouse) two women seem to knew the hostess and she made a reservation for them for the next day, which I was specifically told was not possible.
The food was pretty bad. Never have I ever thought that mahi mahi can be tough to chew but they somehow made it possible.
Check-in was understaffed, considering they are also very slow.
Wifi was spotty. There was no wifi on one of the evenings, which made opening up QR codes for the menus impossible.
Water pressure in was extremely weak, not only in the shower and sink, but also the toilet. Despite flushing for 15 minutes the toilet never fully flushed and waste kept coming back up.
The hotel itself is dated and in need of renovation.
I asked for late checkout. They told me I have to go at 7am the day-of. I did and they only gave me 1 hr extension for which they charged me $15 per hour. This has never happened to me before.
I spoke to several people who said they had stayed here regularly but won’t be coming back again, so it seems it was a universal experience. I will not be going to RIU properties again.
All-in-all, this place seems to be nickeling and diming for food, towels, checkout, everything.

This is a great vacation option. All inclusive resort. Beach access
. Great for couples and singles young and age- less. The Staff is excellent. The attention to detail and the customers needs is an art that most facilities miss.
Great job RUI. This is our 2nd property ( last was Cabo was the last one). ARUBA Antillas , you owe me nothing! GREAT TIME.

Everything was wonderful!!! We were there over my birthday and I was surprised to receive birthday balloons in our room when I returned from the beach! Every single staff member we interacted with had a welcoming smile and were eager to help us with whatever we required. The room was spacious and spotless...the food amazing. Once we figured out the \"Pool Towel Situation\" we were always able to find a chair at the pool or on the beach. Me and my husband stayed here for 4 days to celebrate 20 yrs together and it was great. At first we was given a room I did not reserve(no ocean view and double beds but when we went downstairs we were able to be changed immediately to the correct room which had both. It was tedious having to return to the front desk to replace our room keys because they cannot be placed next to a phone or credit card which is hard to do when leaving for excursions everyday like we did so keep that in mind. The room was cleaned promptly when we left the correction on the door and the bed was possibly the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in a hotel (and I am picky about mattresses and pillows). The staff was very pleasant, the food was good although the main restaurant had a policy to wait to be seated, then get your food. Most ppl were under the premonition that a waitress would take their order but soon realized by watching others that they need to get their own food instead. I think they need to do a better job of implementing that protocol. The only 2 cons of our vacation was the water down drinks (you will not be buzzed … at all and there were a lot of flies by the cabana (Love Island-like) seating area so that was an area we didn’t relax in. Otherwise the hotel stayed clean, smelled great and staff (waitresses, cooks, cleaners, store clerks) were all very pleasant ppl. We plan to revisit in April, however staying at the family resort, to take our daughter during her spring recess!
