Affordable and effective, but for short stays

The wi-fi connection was largely very weak and interrupting regularly, certainly insufficient for an online meeting. There was no heating which, due to the wave of cold weather, caused the room to be very cold during the nights. The bare minimum services were provided (two towels for four nights). On a positive side, check-in was effective and the owner did not require the payment of the local tax, which was appreciated.

This is very basic, no frills accommodation. Room was very small, no shower gel or soap, one thin towel. And only one electrical outlet in the entire room! I had to unplug the TV to charge my phone. But it was clean and the staff are excellent. I left a ring in the room and the housekeeper ran out to the street to bring it to me before my taxi arrived. That meant a lot! Thanks again to her!

For the small amount we paid for the room we were not too sure what to expect as the pictures shown do not cover every room available. We has single beds as requested and our own bathroom. The room was very basic but clean and the shower in the bathroom was excellent with great pressure and easy to use.
We didn't speak much Czech at all but managed to get across to the staff what we wanted and their grip on English was enough for us to get taxis ordered for the airport etc.
Overall, very clean and tidy, basic accommodation and not too far from everything as long as you don't mind a walk, tram or taxi ride.
Excellent value for the money. (If you want gold taps and waiter service, you will need to pay a lot more and get a hotel closer to the centre of town). We were happy with the cost as it meant more money for beer!!!

Cheap

Yes, Pension City Center & L`Opera was cheap. And you remembered how cheap it was when you were there. The staff was difficult to locate, rooms were cleaned about every other day, and the musk of our room was pretty strong. The walls are thin and you can hear everything on the other side. However, the location is great. If you're looking for a cheap place to lay your head down at night, this is the place for you.

The property is in a quieter part of the city which was what we were looking for. Unfortunately when we got there the front desk had my reservation down as 1 person rather than 2. I had been given a twin room but only given one set of bedding. This was resolved but not exactly quickly. The room was functional and came with a wet room which was pleasant. Our key jammed in the front door and again we were not met with good customer service. Givent the vast number of options in Prague I don't think I would stay here again

Good location close to city centre but very basic room with old furniture (eg broken bed) and 12\" old style TV. Room not cleaned for 5 days, no shower gel provided. Reception staff friendly but never there.

Smells Like A Dirty Ashtray Room

The area was very convenient. My nonsmoking room smelled like someone that chained smoked for forty years had lived in it. You could smell it from outside the room. The bedding was thin, frayed, and faded, but it looked clean. The second bed in the room just had a yellowed bottom sheet. The bed was so uncomfortable, my back hurt for several days after leaving. The shower had rusted spots where the coating had chipped off. There was one stained towel and no lamp. To read in bed, you had to have the overhead light on. The help looked/acted like they were leftovers from the Soviet era. If you decide to stay here, make sure to bring your own toilet paper unless you like recycled newsprint toilet paper. It looked like most of the guests were either drunken frat boys or families from Russia. Avoid this

Good location that’s about it.

If you plan on just sleeping in your room like we did it’s an ok room. But our room had a tv with no channels. No soap in the bathroom. No ice machine. And there was more than a few strange stains on the walls and other places. Graffiti in the room you don’t want your kids seeing. You have to pay for parking 12 euro a night and only a compact car will fit. Someone actually dented my car door while we were out sight seeing. I wouldn’t stay there again. not worth 65$ a night at all.

I booked a double room for myself, as no single rooms were available. The room I was given was directly behind the reception area, which meant that there was constant noise. One of the days, I wanted to sleep in - nope - not a chance, as the racket from the lobby made it impossible. My room was also ground-level, meaning that I could hear people outside, talking directly outside of my room.

After locking the door to my room, the door still rattled. Every time customers entering the lobby opened and closed the outside doors, my door would shake and bang. A few times in my sleep, I was awoken, thinking someone was knocking on my door. Absolutely unsettling. I showed the gentleman in the lobby, and he offered no solution. Truly, this would be a very easy and affordable fix.

The room was very sticky and musty - it felt like a basement apartment.

The bed was so hard. I am a young, healthy person who does not have any back problems. However, after my first night here, my back was aching so badly. By the second night, I was finding it difficult to walk. I'm glad I didn't stay any longer.

As for the location, it was quite far from the main attractions in Prague. The neighborhood however was quite lovely, and I did enjoy walking through the nearby park. Also, its proximity to the subway was quite convenient.

Location was quite good, walkable distance and direct tramways to all the touristic places. During the stay of three nights all the three nights we were disturbed by group of guys who were screaming in the corridor (First night around mid night and the other two around 3:30am) we couldn't sleep properly, we complained about this to the hotel authority but nothing worked.

Great value private rooms.

Great stay, aided by a brilliantly located and excellent value hotel. Room was as advertised; the twin beds were pushed together but on separate bed frames (unlike in many European hotels) so easy to push apart. Private bathroom had a great shower.

Cheap and close to attractions

\"Parking lot\" is ridiculous. Have to go through a narrow building barely big enough for our car with our mirrors folded. If you can't park well in small spaces don't pay for parking there. Park elsewhere. Shower drain was plugged up so had to shut off halfway to let it drain. Close walking distance to major attractions though which was nice.

Would not recommend

We checked in here quite late at night - the man at reception was very grumpy and short with us. We went to the room and it was horrible - we'd booked a twin room and had a room with extra beds so were worried that someone else would come in. There were cobwebs everywhere and in the hallway outside even pipes hanging out the wall. We felt very unsafe so booked another hotel and left. Would not recommend at all. Never stay here again.

Clean, basic hotel within 10-15 min walk from Wenceslas Sq. Easy walk down to river and then to Charles Bridge/Prague Castle. Friendly staff, gated entrance into entry court for safety.

I can't recommend it

Well, the location was great. The price is ok, but I'd say it isn't nearly cheap enough for what you get. My room was simple but adequate. The service was minimal. My problem with the room was that it smelled of mold and there was clearly mold growing in the shower. There were also broken tiles in the shower and holes in the drywall. The walls were paper thin, so I had to listen to my ipod in order to fall asleep at night. I stayed a week, but my room was only serviced once. I could deal with everything else, but the mold really bothered me. That being said, it could be isolated to the room that I was in. I never requested to be moved because I wasn't there very much. Overall, the place wasn't good. However, if you can't afford anything better, then consider this place for the simple fact that the location was really good. Short walk to many attractions and good restaurants. Your basic needs will be met here...that's about it.

Old but just Fine

This hotel is in an old building and the rooms are as clean as they can be considering. The mattresses are thin and you cannot get one large bed... instead you push two single beds together (which leaves a gap so it is not ideal for couples that like to snuggle). It is about a 30 minute walk to Charles Bridge which doesn't SEEM far except the city sidewalks are very rough on your feet - so if you plan to walk be sure to wear shoes with a heavy sole and thick insoles. Even knowing the cons I would choose to stay at this hotel again. The clerk was friendly, the room was clean, and the shower hot. I didn't come to Prague to stay in the hotel so this room met all my needs (minus the snuggling).

Worth for the money

We did stayed there for 3 nights and the stuff were lovely and spoke enough english to help us. Before my departure, I called them and asked them to let my friend to check in as my flight had delay and I arrived a few hours later. The stuff let her in and didnt charge her until I got there. He also helped me how to get from Airport to the Hotel. (Bus number 100 from the Airport to the Underground Metro and take one train with about 10 stations to the nearest station called Karlovo namesti, and then 5-10 min walk). Be careful if you're gonna back on weekend the bus 100 leaves every 30min towards Airport, so make sure you leave enough time to get to the Airport).

The room was ok, and worth it for the money, but there were no slippers (Flip flop) and shampoo, just a couple of small soaps. They didn't also clean our room during our stay, only emptied the bin. If you really concern about cleanness, take your towels with you.

Moreover, this hotel doesn't provide breakfast on the price, however, they do sell vouchers for the small pub 2 min walk from the Hotel for a good money. The pub owner is a sweet italian guy and cook very nice breakfast and the price I think is reasonable. Definitely, give it a try ;-) Depends on your choice it cost 150 to 180 Czech Koruna (about £5-6 or 6-7 Euros)

The area was good and seemed safe and just 15min walk from the main square and old town.

L'Opera - OK hotel for a cheap price

It's really a hostel

The Hotel L'Opera is not a hotel; rather, it's the brand name used for the private rooms of the City Centre Hostel. It's more or less what you can expect for the price; it's very conveniently located the Nove Mesto, walking distance to both the tourist attractions of the Old Town and the nice restaurants and cafes of Vinohrady, and most hotels in this area are quite expensive in comparison.

What to expect - rude service, an entrance that you must awaken a cranky doorman to get into at night (why no key?), worn-out creaky beds (splash out for a nicer hotel if you have back problems), and very tiny, cramped rooms. On the plus side, there's free internet, everything seems clean, the neighborhood is safe and very convenient, and there's no dodgy hidden costs.

All in all, the place is cheap for Prague, but not necessarily good value. Had I known it was actually a hostel, I would've chosen a hostel with nice shared kitchen facilities and friendly staff instead.

Dobré a férové odbavení na poslední chvíli.
Vybavení pokojů odpovídá zvolené cenové úrovni. Všude čisto. Byl to sobotní večer, trochu byla slyšet hudba z vedlejšího klubu, ale nic nezvladatelného.

Я жила в этом отеле 4 ночи. Расположение действительно хорошее. Я везде ходила пешком. До Карлова моста 30 минут, до Вацлавской улицы 15 минут. Ехать от автовокзала Флоренс 3 остановки на метро, а не 6, как написано на сайте.
Обстановка в номере очень простая. При мне за 5 дней никто не убирался. Только один раз поменяли полотенца. Да мусор вынесли по моей просьбе. Я ходила босиком по номеру, так к вечеру у меня ступни ног были черные. Пол из плитки. Видно, его очень редко моют. Но самое ужасное было то, что когда я приехала - хостел был закрыт и на ресепшен никого не было. Я сидела на улице под дверью где-то с полчаса, думая с ужасом, что придется сейчас идти искать другой вариант заселения. Как потом выяснилось, сотрудник уходил пообедать и закрыл двери. Правда, извинился и объяснил. Но я испытала очень неприятные чувства за эти полчаса. Так что, если приедете и закрыто все - не паникуйте. Может быть скоро кто-нибудь появится.
Еще ужасно было то, что в ночь с пятницы на субботу у них проходят всенародные гуляния в сквере неподалеку. Громкая музыка долбила по мозгам до 4 утра. Я не могла уснуть. А за эту ночь еще берут двойную цену. За мучения дополнительные. Ну, если в будние дни и на 1 ночь, то можно остановиться. Но в пятницу - если только вы сами позажигать приехали.

Il est scandaleux qu'un tel hôtel soit référencé chez Hotel.com. D'abord ils m'ont prélevé 2 fois le montant de la réservation sur ma carte de crédit et j'ai été obligé de le prouver par écrit pour qu'ils fassent des recherches de leur coté. Hotel délabré, lits de camp grinçant de 70cm de large, pas d'isolation phonique, le tout pour un pris de 150 €/nuit. Bref une arnaque pour touriste voulant réveillonner à Prague

Ďakujeme personálu penziónu, milí a ochotní.. Cítili sme sa tam naozaj dobre, izba bola super, oddelená od ostatnej časti-co sme skutočne ocenili keďže mame radšej ticho a pokoj.. Co sa týka čistoty tak nie je čo vytknúť, všetko bolo čisté.
Ešte musím vyzdvihnúť aj lokalitu a dostupnosť k centru mesta, pokiaľ si neurobíte obchádzku ako my tak pri Lucerne ste v rámci 7mich minút.
Ďakujeme ešte raz a určite sa tam ubytujeme znova a znova..

La chambre est toute petite le matelas et sommier très sommaire. La télé ne marchait pas . Difficulté à avoir le wi-fi dans la chambre il faut se rendre sur une pièce palière . Après au vue du prix je n’en demandais pas plus.

Buena relación calidad-precio.

Se encuentra en una casa dentro de un patio interior, pero hay una señal en la calle principal y es fácil de encontrar. Falta limpieza y algo de mantenimiento, pero la ubicación y la relación calidad-precio lo hacen muy recomendable. El personal es muy amable.

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We were 5 people crammed into a room that nearly could not fit all our 4 beds (1 twinbed). It was pooly cleaned, and was not cleaned during our 4 day stay. No sunlight reached the room og the area outside it, and it gave the room a wet and cold feeling. Even our bed and blankets were feeling wet when we came back after a long day out. You share a fridge and a microwave in the hallway with the rest of the hotel. Our toilet was very loose and moved around when we sat on it. The bottom of our not very nice looking shower was broken and we had to put a towel in the bottom not to scratch our feet. Alle the beds squeaked every time you sat on it or moved around in it. You could also feel all the springs in the bed. Very low quality!!!
Parking will only fit a small car.
On the positive side: the staff was very helpfull and the subway system was very close by. But we will never ever stay there again - rather pay a bit more and then not be creeped out by the room.

5 Gehminuten bis zum Wenzelsplatz. Ansonsten nur zum schlafen für Silvester geht es.Einfahrt und die Parkplätze vorm Hotel sehr eng.

立地は、トラムの停留所が目の前で、地下鉄の駅もすぐ近くでとても便利でした。さらに観光地のほとんどが徒歩圏内でとてもよい場所でした。プラハ本駅からも歩いて行けました。また、同じ道路沿いにダンシングハウスがあるため目印となりわかりやすかったです。
フロントの人もとても親切で優しい人たちでした。
部屋のシャワーも洗面所も普通にお湯がでて快適でした。部屋も広さも問題なく、快適に過ごすことができました。

Hotel spartano, stanza molto spaziosa. Vicino alla metro Pavlova e all'edificio danzante. Gli asciugamani non vengono cambiati nè i letti rifatti però per chi come me passa in hotel solo il tempo di dormire va più che bene. Il prezzo che offre è coerente.

Our family of four stayed for a week. We are please for the location but not for the service from hotel. The room was not cleaned up everyday. Sometimes they come to empty trash but not vacuum the floor. Wi-Fi signal is too slow and weak. We were irritated when we could not get online. An accesspoint could help the problem.
