Decent hotel in a decent location

A decent hotel just on the edge of the centre and right near a train station with direct trains to Prague. Staff very friendly and helpful. Shower good and bathroom generally functional. Pillow was one very one which wasn't the most comfortable but bed ok.

It is an old hotel which is being well kept. If your looking for a modern hotel with conveniences this is not for you. No coffee in the lobby or room, but decent breakfast served at 8am, with expresso machine. The staff was professional, but not outwardly friendly. If you take the time to speak to them they are fine. The shower was awkward, with a hose and nozzle in a bathtub that forced us to shower bent over. Clean, historic, but very old school.

The “free parking” is not fully true. Arriving at Thursday at 20:00, the small hotel parking place was full. I was advised by receptionist to look for a place around the hotel, which is also free. I was driving on surrounding streets more than 15 minutes till finally found one place, it was about 500 meters from hotel. This created a bad impression immediatelly, but all other things were OK. Furniture in the room is very old, but all was functional, room was clean and we slept well. Breakfast was also OK, variety of hot and cold meals, tasty, fresh. Receptionist were also friendly. For the price I paid it was OK, I can recommend the hotel. … just the parking was a problem.

Nice hotel for a visit to the brewery

The hotel is perfect for a stay at Plzen. We strongly recommend a visit to the brewery at about 20 minutes walking distance. It is an old hotel (slow elevator and the shower could be updated), but it is clean and has a nice extended breakfast. Especially for such a low price, we did not expect to have this service level at this hotel.

nice hotel in beautiful city

the hotel envirment is wondeful. the erea close to the old center city. the hotel buliding is historycal nice and impresive, i like the decoration.
the breakfast is nice.
the room clean.
the only problem I had ( and to other couple), was that I make reservation for double bad, and got 2 singel.
I ask the reception why it's happened, the answer was, the hotel is full and we havn't other room, the fact I have booking with doube bad, don't help.

I had a very pleasant stay here. I was offered an upgrade from a single room to double room with balcony. I especially enjoyed the jacuzzi of the bathtub! The room was very spacious and clean. After I checked in in the evening I had a hearty and tasty dinner in its lovely and comfortable restaurant whose menu is set at reasonable prices.
Although it is not located in an old town centre, it is just a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Moreover it can be readily reached from the main railway station by tram. There is a convenience store selling stuff at a very reasonable price. By the way, it is just adjacent to a railway station (not tbe main one). If you want to reach this hotel by trian, make sure to check if your train would also stop at that station.
In the down side, as my room is facing the main road and a railway station, it can be noisy at early morning. Also, the WiFi signal is rather week inside the room, but strong in the corridor.
Overall it is well worth the money. Highly recommended. I would definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Plzeň next time.

Location for transit could not be better. Across the street from a train station and less than two blocks from key tram and bus stops. Breakfast buffet is so good and had great options for everyone. Stayed there eleven days so I ate a lot of good breakfasts. The staff especially the cleaning staff was so friendly and thorough. The bed was a bit Spartan but my single room was very comfortable. This is my new favorite in Plzeň.

Great bargain. Room was clean and roomy. Bathroom very good with plenty of shelves. Breakfast was great. A bit stuffy but fan in room helped a lot. We were on street side but noticed little noise. Short walk to old town area and main bus station. I would stay again with no hesitation.

Great stay in this nicely kept old property. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we were given a nice breakfast pack because we departed early, thanks! Handy for one of the railway stations (Jižní předměstí) but about a 10-12 min walk into town.

I called hotel at midnight and ask if they still have my reservation? They replied they hold reservations until 11pm, that's why I stead at hotel Slovan in Plzen which was about 1km from hotel Slovan, Then I got charge for the hotel Victoria any way. Nice way you do and hotel Victoria business.

Solid hotel

I was traveling with a group and all together we had 5 rooms. Of those, people in 4 of the rooms were quite pleased. There were a few odd things, however. Reaching the rooms far from the elevator or stairs required going down long, dark, twisty corridors and the lights didn't always work, so there was some fumbling in the dark. Plus the rooms didn't have a lock or dead bolt on the inside, which was a bit unnerving. The bed was uncomfortable in the standard European hard mattress way, as well. But otherwise, it was a good hotel. The staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was tasty, and the location was convenient.

This is a pretty good hotel. The staff was helpful, the breakfast buffet was tasty, and the rooms were nice. But the hallways were a little weird as the lights wouldn't always go on as you walked through long, twisty dark corridors and there was no deadbolt (or internal lock) in the room. I presume it was still locked from the outside, but I didn't love not being able to lock my room from the inside when I was in it. Also the beds were uncomfortable in the standard hard European way (so if you like hard beds, you're all set).

Although the hotel was old and somewhat outdated, it was clean. The reception staff was great and spoke very good English. Decent breakfast of hot and cold items was included. About a 10+ minute walk to town square which was nice. We were not overly impressed with the surrounding town itself...somewhat dirty. The gated parking lot was much appreciated. It was ok for a one night stay while passing through.

Nice hotel with everything you need. We even had a refrigerator and a safe in the room. Staff is very friendly and the food in the restaurant was great, and the breakfast was very good, too.
Only complaint was the hard and thin mattresses, and the hallways/room needs an update (they are working on it right now). The bathrooms have been already updated, they are nice. The location is great, too!

Nice hotel, friendly staff, train station \" just in front of \" the hotel which simplified travelling around the country. Nice Czech restaurant in the hotel and excellent hot chocolate is served even at 9 pm on a cold summer day. I enjoyed staying in their little garden after breakfast - it is designated smoking area but there were not many smokers on the mornings.

15 minutes mins walk from main square

The hotel was as I expected. For price paid.
Fortunately it was about a 15 mins walk to main square.

However the most disappointing thing apart from one flat pillow!
Is breakfast! 7-10am. At 8am I asked about cornflakes. As bowl was empty.
Also the fruit bowl was empty! (I noticed the German couple on next table had emptied it)
There was a toaster but no bread to toast. Basket empty!
I pointed and asked the waitress but she just shrugged her shoulders.
We only wanted the continental breakfast. But apart from yogurts,ham,cheese and condements. There was nothing for me!
We guessed it would be the same the next day. So I went to reception. Asked if we should go at 7am? If we wanted to get the items above. However she did not know!
Hot breakfast consisted of fish fingers, sausages and extremely hard fried eggs? There was nothing for us.

Drove from Brussels and I wanted to see local brewery. The town is a small taste of Czech. It is not a tourist spot. For me that was great. Wanted the true taste of the Czech people and culture. Everyone was great. The hotel restraint was very good.

I ate dinner in the restaurant 2 nights and loved the food. Lots of cigarette smoke which I didn't like. Neighborhood a bit rundown.

The building is old, the room we had would have been okay, but it smelled like sewage. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, except one who was unable to provide us with a fork when we got takeout that had forgotten to give us one. We noticed later that the same woman had access to the breakfast room, so there was no reason she could not get us one. The location was the best thing about this hotel, a short walk to most of the tourist attractions. Breakfast was decent.

The hotel was very nice on the inside, great food at the restaurant and the massage was nice too. All for a very good price. The bed, however, felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I didn't really leave the hotel after I arrived because I didn't feel comfortable in the neighborhood walking around alone.

Worst hotel stay in a long time!

What a dump, to claim to be even a 3 star hotel is an exaggeration to say the least. From the complacent reception staff to the rude restaurant server, this hotel suffers from post-war attitude that has never changed. It's rundown, dangerous should be dealt with as such. My non smoking room filled with the smell of smoke at 6.00 in the morning when the guy in the next room lit up.

We stayed at the Hotel Viktoria in September 2013 for two nights. Prior to our stay I emailed the hotel for walking directions from the bus station. I got an immediate response with detailed clear directions. The staff were all extremely helpful, we arrived at 1030 and were able to check in at 1100 at no extra cost( check in 1400). Our room, a non smoking double, was clean and comfortable, with free use of the safe and in room wifi.
We ate in the hotel restaurant on our 2nd night and the food was excellent and great value for money.
Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a good location and only a short stroll from the old city. Public transport is within a short walking distance also. The hotel itself was of a decent standard and I would certainly stop there again. Meals in the restaurant were of a good standard and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was average for Northern Europe so no complaints there. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Not fancy and a bit dated, but VERY clean. Location wasn't the best, but seemed safe enough and a manageable walk to the city center. Parking was down the street in a fenced, locked parking lot, which was great. The breakfast offering were VERY impressive! We stopped over in Pilsen to visit the Pilsner Urquell brewery, which was a fantastic tour and a lot of fun!

I was really pleased with my stay at the Victoria. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind. It was my daughters birthday and they even provided a cake with candles for her tea at very short notice. The food was as good as any outside restaurant and very affordable and there was plenty choice for the inclusive breakfast. The rooms where really clean with every thing you needed and the staff were quite happy to provide any extra pillows etc that you wanted. I would definetly go back again.

Hotel Victoria-Plzen, GREAT customer service

My husband and I stayed here for one night during the 4th of July weekend 2011 and LOVED the hotel! All staff members that we came in contact with from the front desk to the bartender to the breakfast servers were wonderful. Everyone spoke great English and we were able to pay in both Euro and Crowns (koruna). We stayed in room 109 (there are at least 4 floors but no elevator) and had a very large bed for two, a separate room for the shower, sink, and toilet. Our room had a small fridge, a floor fan, a TV and a window. The view was not all that great as it was facing the back of the hotel but the front faced the train tracks so we heard nothing but the rain drops all night long.

The hotel room was so clean that I didn't even wear my \"house shoes\" when walking around. We also brought shower shoes with us and never even took them out of our bags. The bathroom was beautiful but small and only one person could really be in it comfortably at a time.

The restaurant/bar had a very large menu with several \"Czech\" dishes. The food and drinks were VERY affordable and much more so than in Prague.

The only \"bad\" thing was the neighborhood at night. We went for a sort walk once the rain stopped and I was a little nervous. Thankfully the hotel offers a gated parking lot to keep your vehicle in and it was included in the price of our hotel, as was breakfast which was pretty good. We ate eggs, sausage, fruit, cereal, breads, and jams. Coffee was great too as was the juice.

The hotel offers spa services and they also have a sauna and a fitness center, both of which required a key for entrance so we never checked them out.

Spa services looked very afford able and it's either offered in your room or next door at the spa.

We didn't see a pool but there was an info book in our room that mentioned one. They also had a note about allowing pets for free.

We'll go back to the Czech Republic one day and both my husband and I look forward to staying at the Hotel Victoria again.

Though a nice hotel if coming to town via trian be aware it is on the train line but the station it is located next to is only used for local trains and it is quite a distance from the main train station. Once we figured this out our stay was just fine.

Zwar direkt an einer Straße und einer Bahnstrecke gelegen, ist es bei geschlossenen Fenstern erstaunlich ruhig.
Hotel ist sauber und das Personal sehr freundlich. Preis-Leistung ist perfekt. Ins Zentrum sind es 15 Minuten zu Fuß.

Tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. 10 Minuten fußläufig zum Marktplatz. Parkplatz weniger Meter vom Hotel . Umfangreiches Frühstück inklusive. Sehr nettes Personal. Ja, das Mobiliar ist nicht modern, aber alles war sehr sauber und die Betten bequem. Beim inklusive Frühstück gab es viel Auswahl alles würde immer wieder aufgefüllt. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Gute Verkehrsanbindung mit dem Auto oder öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln.
