Over priced for room you have to clean on your way out , pet deposit was $60 when I called and $100 when we arrived, $40 more when we got to the room .. staff not professional smoking at office . staff had no uniforms and all looked dirty . So you did not know if they work there or they someone off the street. Website information and room information about rules where different so guest did not know rules till you arrived.. will not stay again

Cigarette butts on our porch, a huge pile of bird poop from a nest above the porch, the inside had a funky smell, the carpet in the bedrooms was dirty , really don’t know why there is carpet in a beach rental that is pet friendly…. It rained when we were there and our room had 2 roof leaks one above the sofa in the living room which got the sofa cushions wet and one in the shower. The cover fell off of the ac unit , the coffee pot was dirty, the sofa mattress was paper thin, we got locked in the laundry room because the doorknob fell off. The pool did not seem clean , huge cockroaches all around the property at night. Not enough parking spaces , Other than that the location in proximity to the beach access was good but we will never rent there again

The location is great. The room was perfect. It came equipped with everything we needed and more. The one and only drawback was the clerk at checkout. We made an error & misunderstood checkout time so we literally had 10 minutes to pack up & leave. While that was understandable, the clerk at the front desk was very rude about it and not empathetic to misunderstanding at all and made us feel dumb for thinking checkout was later (like most other places we have stayed) Nonetheless we will be returning since check in staff, housekeeping and the amenities were unbeatable.

Have stayed here annually for several years will continue. Best combination of quaint/cute, comfortable, convenient to beach and town - especially grocery store - and reasonable price. Really like the layout of the Kitchen Suites. Starting to show wear tho: stove top discolored, some dishes chipped and a few basic items missing - only 1 fork, no facial tissue. Very responsive to provide items on request to. I wonder about the inventory after cleaning for next guests. Dresser drawer stops broken/missing allowing drawers to fall out. TV menu difficult for real time news - no Fox, CNN, etc. Not luxury but more than adequate for us. Always a fun stay.

I rented a cottage which I would describe at best as rustic. The cottage was not dirty but was not completely clean either. I saw at least one dead roach by the side of the bed. The coffee maker did not work properly, and the carafe was stained with water deposits which made it look dirty. The coffee pods provided was skimpy and barely produced a cup of coffee. Needless to say, the few amenities (dishes, utensils, plates, etc.) are way below standard.

The guests are required to empty the trash and generally clean the unit before checking out otherwise guests will be charge a $25.00 cleaning fee that will be taken from your $100.00 deposit.

The cottage gets two positive points for a comfortable bed and a working air conditioner that kept the room cold and comfortable. They also get credit for a friendly staff member at registration.

Front desk staff was very kind. The room was not what we expected from the pictures on line. Kitchen was missing many items ex. Cups, forks, glasses ect. The room smelled musty and for me being allergic to mold became an issue. The closet and bathroom shower curtain had black mold and the floors made our feet brown. A/C and ceiling fans were not clean.
Bed sheets and towels seemed clean.
Sadly, not as comfortable stay as we had hoped. Very expensive for what we got.

However, the Wi-Fi wasn't working, there was significant mildew growth in the bathroom, and the Adirondack chairs on the patio were falling apart.

Location, location, location! We had a cottage, loved having a kitchen, which came with coffee, thanks! There was also a laundry on site, which was very helpful!! Would definitely stay here again! They also rented golf carts, so you don't have to drive anywhere to get one.

You cannot see the ocean from the building we were in, there were maybe 7 buildings total. The beach was only a block away, easy to walk the distance. Disappointed with the cleanliness as well as the kitchen not being stocked properly-silverware was enough for 1 person, very little pots, pans, no knifes

Great location to the beach and amenities in the surrounding area!
However…
The cabin itself was filthy upon first glance and figured we could get it taken care of while went to the beach. Stopped by the front desk to ask for it to be cleaned while we went to the beach and dinner. But when we got back, the old sandwich bread under the trash can and the febreeze was the only thing done.
Here is the remaining list of things we encountered as the night progressed:
- Freezer smelt like old fish (unusable)
- Shower had red bacteria & mold
- Dust all over
- Blinds has greasy texture all over them
- Sheets stained/possibly unwashed
- Found dead cockroaches
There’s a difference between old and dirty, unfortunately both are true here. After all this, they only took off the cleaning fee 😅
For a comparable price and location, don’t make the same mistake we did, go towards the newer buildings, south. We will be!

We rented the loft that sleeps 8 and it was okay. Some of the photos were confusing so we weren't exactly sure what we were getting. There are three queen beds and one pullout that's basically springs with a thin pad on top. The staircase is a death trap. The kids were fine with it but if you have any older people, don't plan on putting them upstairs. The AC units did a great job though. Also, we thought the unit had a washer/dryer but it's a laundry room in another building. And the floor needs to be mopped. I don't think it ever has been. Overall, it's what you'd expect for the price. The woman at the front office was very nice though. And it's ultra close to the beach.

The king bed had sand in it. The pull out bed was disgusting, rust on mattress and sheets, springs poking out and you could fill the bars from the couch.
They came and cleaned the room again and took our pillowcases. When I asked for them back. I heard excuses.
Not the best spring break but location was good.

Overall it was a great stay! The office staff was amazing. The only thing that ruined the vacation was the day of check out the housekeeping/cleaners were already knocking at the room at 9:20AM and unlocked the door and was about to come in until I stopped her. She goes “oh yall are still here?” I said well yes check is till 10AM and I have not even turn the key into the office. That was so unorganized and not safe. Besides that issue towards the end everything else was great!

Stayed at dog friendly Seashell Village for a 2 nights stay when visiting in Feb 2026. Arrived late for check in due to a 6 hour drive to arrive from West Texas. We were given a room on the third floor and no elevator but room was clean and bed was comfortable. Close drive to beach and local restaurants. Parking is tight. No check out instructions in the room so had to return to room to remove trash before check out. Most rental units like this with no daily maid service will post check out instructions in the room and this would have been helpful. I mentioned this suggestion to the staff on check out and her comment was, \"we don't post instructions in the room because you are verbally told instructions on check in\". This is true but older people tend to forget instructions if not written down. Anyway, it is an okay place to stay for a no frills visit.

Room window shades did not block lights in back and in front of our room. Very bright when trying to sleep. ant traps were notici le in the room. Big rodent traps were on the outside wall of our room. I went to have coffee from the coffee machine and there were no cups. They required a $100 dollar deposit for the room. This place was rated exceptional by Hotel.com when I booked it.

Location was excellent, but we stayed in cabin 11 and had issues with no internet for both nights and cleanliness. Coffee pot was full of old coffee and the room smelled really stale and musky. Also, when leaving we saw 2 German roaches near the refrigerator in the bathroom . Very disappointed with the overall stay but made the best of it.

When we got into the cottage we found that all of the trash had not been emptied. It may be a good idea for you to spray for pests as we found a roach in the bathroom. Thanks

Booked a last minute trip to Port A. The location was the best thing we liked about this place. It is an older property and very outdated. The mini fridge and microwave were dirty. There was a coffee maker but no cups or sugar/creamer to use, so kinda pointless. There was a leftover have used Gatorade in cabinet. The shower curtain smelled like mildew. We were told we would get our cleaning fee returned but that never happened. Disappointed but it had good reviews but we did not have the same experience.

We made a last minute reservation to go for the weekend. Booked the room for the price listed. Gave them a call to find out their office hours due to a late arrival (9:15) she informed they closed the office at 11. Received a call at 7:45 saying they were closing early and that I need to provide my DL and a credit card via email. I was unable to get access to my cc so I emailed my DL and she told me to come by in the morning and provide my CC for \"incidentals\". Upon arrival, the room was in disorder. There was no TV in the entertainment center in the living room and the TV in the bedroom did not work, there was no toilet paper or paper towels. Not exactly sure why they needed a CC for incidentals because none were available or provided. When I went to the office the next morning she also charged me a pet fee for which I was not aware. The listing said it was a pet friendly hotel but never mentioned a pet fee. Very disappointed in the place, we have stayed there before and had a great expirence. The employees were partaking in some illegal activities while working on \"cleaning\" the rooms also. Not sure if we'll return

Walking distance to the beach. We were on the top floor which gets the best sunsets and had two balconies.
But we had to move to this space, (at no extra cost) because the original suite we were offered was unclean and the smell was terrible.
There was mould on the closet wall in the bedroom and that added to the smell. Dust on the ceiling and wall in that area, so no deep clean for a long time. Windows were dirty, fridge was dirty. Had to ask for toilet paper and only one fork in the cutlery drawer. Cigarette butts, garbage and a bunch of hair on the balcony.
So a bunch of things that put together made us feel like leaving. Fortunately we were able to change rooms to something much cleaner, more equipped.
Its an older resort and it shows.

I think this is ok and very basic. There is zero decor in the room not even one picture, nor sofa pillows, nor rugs NOTHING. it’s very stale, the tub was moldy and yes the kitchen is equipped with 4 forks, 2 knives and 4 spoons none which match. If you want BASIC this is it… the pool area is pretty old and filled with loud screaming children… it’s not terrible but I wouldn’t go back. The best part is its proximity to beach and restaurant next door.

Blackout curtains would be nice along with pocket doors in bedroom to separate it from rest of space.

We had a late check in at this property so there wasn’t a front desk person to speak with. Upon check-in the room was not what was expected. We tried to wash our feet off bc there was sand on the floor and our shower didn’t even come on. The water was dripping but you couldn’t shower. The ceiling in bathroom had black mold. The refrigerator was dirty freezer matched. The bedroom wall had holes in it and all over our room did not look clean. When I spoke with front desk person at check out it was just a “I’m sorry we have plumbing issues”… this place takes $100 for just incidentals at check in.. I expected to at least have a clean room and a shower that worked. This was my first time in this area and I wasn’t impressed

This hotel advertises close to the beach, walking distance and a kitchen. It has a refrigerator and a microwave in the bathroom it is several blocks away from the ocean. I've never slept in a bed more uncomfortable. The room itself was tiny. This has been the worst experience I have had with Hotels.com

The staff were easy to work with and tried to be helpful. The room we were put in was not what was booked. We were moved to a different room that was a bit more what was advertised. After moving to the new room we found the floors were filthy! You had to wear shoes or your feet were black. We had to wash our feet before getting in bed the first night. I asked to have the floor mopped while we were out for the day. It was mopped but that left a greasy/slimy mess on the floor. We place towels on the floor too keep our feet clean and to keep from slipping. There were roaches on the walls and cleaning was sub-par. The coffee pot looked to have never been cleaned. Then there was the furniture. The couch was so uncomfortable we chose to sit at the dinning table. The bathroom floors were so dirty even after mopping I took pictures to complain. The cleaning fee was removed from my bill. I was displeased with the charge of a 5 star hotel when we received a 2 star motel.

What a nice property compared to a hotel! Bed was comfortable, AC worked well! It was nice having a real kitchen. Its basically a one bedroom apartment. 2 small pools; one was shallower for kids. It was also nice and quiet. I only heard my neighbor once when they dropped something heavy. Its about 3 blocks from the beach in downtown Port A. I will definitely be back!
