There was mold growing on the ceiling that had just been painted over. Breakfast was very disappointing. Eggs that sit in a pool of liquid and uncooked potatoes. The coffee looked like tea and the waffle batter had clumps. There is no ramp for handicap access and there’s a pile of wood occupying parking spots, if you park next to it you will be stepping on wobbly wet wood. The WiFi connection is unreliable and the floors were covered in sand though we had just checked in, I understand it is near the beach but I would assume it be clean upon check in.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite, and it was incredibly spacious with beautiful artwork throughout the room. The armoire, bed, and table décor were elegant and gave the suite a luxurious feel that stood out from a typical hotel. We especially enjoyed having a kitchenette, a comfortable sofa, and a relaxing spa hot tub. The bed was exceptionally soft, and the shower head provided a great shower experience.

There are just a few minor details that, if addressed, would elevate the suite even further. The spa tub could be cleaned more thoroughly, as the jets looked a bit worn from sand and the edges of the tub could use some extra attention. The soap holder in the shower also needed repair. Updating the throw blanket on the sofa, replacing the microwave with a newer model, and updating the toilet’s flush button would further enhance the overall experience.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful, management was welcoming, and with just a few minor updates, this honeymoon suite could truly be exceptional.

The ac was so loud it rattled all night but kept the room cool, clothes were damp the next morning but at least it was cool.
The room was so nasty, we didnt even go to breakfast, there was blood on the wall, the bathtub was so dirty i wore shoes to try to take a shower, the towels were dirty. The pillow on the bed stunk like dirty feet.

The pool and hot tub were nasty with trash floating in it, our door to our room wouldnt even close all the way unles you picked up on it, the hinges on it were broken.
This was possibly the worst place i have ever stayed anywhere.

I was NOT impressed with any of it.

The beds are very comfortable. The air conditioning worked great! The room was very clean except for the floor, it is a tile floor and could still feel sand on it. The breakfast bar including coffee was not replenished after 9:30 am with lodging at capacity being 4th of July weekend. Landscaping rocks used on slope in front of the rooms were washed onto sidewalk. They are medium to large in size and could pose a hazard for guests unless they are very careful. This business is pet friendly which is a plus. They do have a fenced area for dogs to potty and have poop bags available, plus a small fenced play area. Overall, our stay was good.

I'd only advise to work on the late \"check out possibility\" I've done it in most of the places I stayed in, I requested to check out late (typically $15 fee up to 2pm) but the front desk informed me that was not an option, although the room was not booked and was a week day and there was plenty of more rooms available, however he gave me 30 minutes extra to let me family rest for a few more minutes before heading out, overall a great experience, I'd come back. Thank you

This was our first time staying here and we will not be returning. Thankfully we only had to stay for one night. The front desk staff were very kind but that’s the only positive thing I have to say. Our room was filthy. The floors were so gross we wore flip flops anytime we were inside. When I pulled out the sofa bed for our kiddos to sleep on, it was covered in dirt and food crumbs. The toilet in our bathroom was NASTY. It’s unfortunate that they don’t do a better job cleaning the rooms because it would’ve changed our whole experience.

This hotel was okay, cute in the hotel lobby and pool area but the issues lay in the rooms. The bathroom had a bit of mold growing on the back of the door and in the corner of the ceiling above the tub. The outside of the tub area on the bottom along the floor area I had looked to be what was maybe rust with dirty before was not clean. The microwave and visible smudges fingerprints on it and inside was old and busted up piece of plastic was missing on one of the walls inside the microwave. There were trash bags in the cabinets in the kitchen area. The sheets had stains, small ones but still stains. There was not a fire extinguisher inside of the room and the telephone did not work. I did not say anything that night because we were tired from being at the beach all day and enjoying our time, so after the not so great breakfast, very much powdered eggs and I've had those kind before these were not enjoyable, the waffle mix was not enjoyable either, and then basic cereal toast juice no breakfast meats and coffee. We were packing ready to get out of there by 9:00 in the morning, went to the office spoke to a manager over the phone and the only conversation was $50 back on a $400 bill because I did not let them know the night before. I recommend you checking all the Nitty Gritty before you unpack your whole family and possibly be inconvenient to move to another room I asked him if we get caught what are they going to do. If it's not clean as it should be

Old facility that has new paint …. Like lipstick on a hog. TV did not work… asked to have it repaired but never did. Bathroom door did not close. Floors and baseboards were not clean. Shower curtain was brown/yellow at the bottom and disgusting and tub was very old. Breakfast options limited and very expensive for what this place offers. Will not return and will advise friends and family. Feedback is a gift… hopefully others provide feedback so the owners make changes. There are many options in Port A.

Check in was easy, staff was friendly and location was sufficient. Driving to the beach was expected, and it was a close drive. It was a busy weekend due to Sand Fest. Breakfast was ok…enough to feel full, but not satisfied. Sometimes you get what you paid for, and considering it was a last minute trip on a busy weekend and we were looking for affordable, we got what we paid for. I likely won’t stay here again, but if you’re looking for spacious rooms, a big pool, drivable to the beach and budget friendly, this is a good choice.

The front desk staff is really nice! The rooms not so much. Not as clean as they should be. Old furniture that should be thrown out asap. Broken front door security bar. Broken shower handle. They did give us a refund of 1 day as we planned to stay 3 but 2 was enough. Glad they were nice about it. These were simple fixes it's too bad they haven't taken care if it. The worst was when we left we put the DO NOT DISTURB notice on door. They totally disregarded it and came in to clean ac unit. I understand it has to be done but a little warning would've been great so that we could put up or take valuable and personal items with us. Friendly staff helps with these issues. Appreciate that!

Pool was nice and plenty of parking. Generally the property needed to have small bits of trash removed. The flower and bushes outside the rooms needed to have trash removed. The rocks were spray painted under the white fence outside the rooms. Gazebo had exposed electrical outlets.

If you want an affordable stay, I recommend this place!! We had five rooms for my family and me and it was a good experience for the most part! The hotel would benefit from adding an outdoor shower because the bathtubs are likely damaged from the sand (making some of them a bit unsightly) but everything functioned fine. The rooms are nice and big and I believe most come with a sleeper sofa so a double queen room can really fit at least six people, which is great. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is fine - about what you’d expect for a continental brek. Pool and hot tub are great. Charcoal grills outside the hotel came in handy. If you are picky about pillows, bring your own. Beds and sheets comfortable otherwise :) Would also recommend a name change. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk and 5 mins drive to the beach. For the price, I’d say this is a great deal and we will be coming back!

Our room was very dirty. The bathroom toilet had rust on it. The pull out bed, which I paid $30 extra for was hidden with a sofa cover because the coach was very old and dirty. When we pulled out the bed. It was covered in mold. The mattress had a large blood stain covered in mold. We complained as my adult daughter had nowhere to sleep. They brought her another stained mattress and covered it with a mattress pad. We found a cockroach the size of a finger next to her bed. I asked for a refund and they refused. Do not stay here!
We were very disappointed as we wanted to spend our last night there on a good note.

This is our 2nd time staying at Plantation Suites, and both visits were great! Our room was clean and well cooled. Extra towels were readily available. The complimentary breakfast waffles are delicious and there is plenty of hot coffee early mornings. The pool/hot tub area is normally very clean. This trip, we did notice some trash in the bottom of the pool mid afternoon, but staff took care of this promptly. NEW* this trip there were 6 and 8 seat golf cart rentals on site! This was a game changer for us! The golf carts come well equipped with touch screen, good speakers, and are iphone/android friendly! Good pricing for the convenience on these carts. Last, but not least fur babies are always welcome!

I love this place. It's my go to for convenience, and not so expensive. Free breakfast (awesome selection), hot tub, and a pool for a great price. I love the pillows and the beds, idk where they get them but I wish I could buy one! So soft and comfortable! The staff has always been very helpful even under circumstances where they were almost closed, but they still helped me. I appreciate them so much! I've stayed here for several night multiple times and only once the bath tub/shower was not cleaned at all. Another time, they had construction going on a few rooms down from me, and a bug spray guy going door to door.. but other than that, everything is amazing. They'll give you a Do Not Disturb sign so that helps. <3 it had a homey vibe after the 2nd time staying.

Initially staff was fine, check in was fine. Left hotel to go eat dinner and go to the beach. I got to my room, unloaded my things, the refrigerator was filthy, the floor in the bathroom had not been swept or mopped, the bathtub/shower combo had someone else’s long brown hair in the tub, on the wall, and on the handle. Sheets were clean…that’s about it. The images on Expedia do NOT look like the location, and the room had an old musty smell. Staff not available after 11pm, and of course it was after 11 when I got into my room. No response when contacting office staff and I was leaving first thing in the morning. I bought some overpriced Clorox wipes and cleaned the bathroom. Will never stay there again.

Beautiful hotel on the outside with a gorgeous lobby, pool area, a wonderful breakfast bar. I also love the large beach chairs outside the rooms. However, when it came to the inside of the room.... the bed was comfortable, sheets and blankets were clean, but there were cracks in the walls everywhere, holes where things used to hang on the walls, the bathroom was dirty, let alone I had to completely clean the hair dryer before using it. It was as if it hadn't been wiped down between bookings and was very dirty with build up and finger prints. Same with the bathroom faucet and sink. There lobby staff was exhaling nice and sweet and are accommodating, but the cleaning staff can be a bit rude.

It definitely looks nicer online. It’s a little run down. When we got to our room, there was a huge, live roach that greeted us. The room had an odd smell, maybe mildew. Bath towels are very small and beds are kind of hard. Overall, it was a fine stay for wanting something cheap just to sleep in. But next time, I’d spend a little more for something a little nicer. Hot tub was broken and pool was quite foggy.

We enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was so nice after coming back from the beach. The location is perfect. The price was excellent considering location, cleanliness, large room size and price. The not so good, there was an odor in the room. We got use to it but when we’d leave and come back, we’d smell it again. The breakfast wasn’t great at all really and the coffee maker didn’t work. All very manageable things. Even with that said, we recommend this property and will consider staying again when we visit Port A! 🥰👙🌊☀️⛱️

The first room we were put in had a live roach in it and a woman's hair all over the ground. The second room they put us in was a little better, but the railing in the shower was hanging off the wall. Rust everywhere. The dog park trash can was so overflowed with poop that there was bags hanging on the fence and littered on the ground with dog poop. I booked this based on the reviews I read about it being clean and a nice place. I would be hesitant to book here ago.

The room was decent. Good size, the office chair had a stain and the room had a weird smell but for the price it was ok. we had originally booked another hotel since we were just going for a day. Decided to stay another day and the original hotel wanted to charge a lot. Found this place on Expedia and it was a really good price. The bath tub was a Jacuzzi which was a real nice surprise. But once I was sitting in it, I looked to my right and could see that the toilet needed a cleaning. The AC was wonderful, kept the room cold the whole time. The stairs leading up to the room were kinda scary. But overall I was pleased with my stay. If you book I definitely suggest having dinner at Kodys across the street.

The room was very humid and the bathroom was not up to par. The tub looked like it was dirty but it was just stained. The bottom, corners and walls needed to be resurfaced. It was very musty smelling as well. The room needed a deep cleaning.

When we were packing to leave there were 2 men walking in and checking every room, must be to make sure people checked out? We were still packing up and had the door lock out to keep the room open. I informed them we were still moving out, this was at 11:03am. They seem to take the 11:00am very seriously.

Location is convenient to everything and I would consider staying here again if I needed to. A friend of ours stayed in a different room and said the same about her room as well. It's mediocre at best

Room was clean, the area was quiet and felt safe. Hotel was located near the places we wanted to go. We were there for Sand fest. The pool was clean and the man at the counter was very nice and friendly he told us what was around the area. I would stay here again.
