We booked this place for one night because they accept dogs, but our overnight stay was a terrible experience.
Our dog whined throughout most of the night, and the bed felt itchy. When we finally turned on the lights, we saw roaches running in and out from under the door. To make matters worse, the floor was covered in moisture. The cooling pad we brought for our dog was completely soaked by morning.
When I reported these issues to the front desk, the lady working that morning simply said it was “just moisture from the air conditioner” because we were on the first floor. There was no apology, no concern, and no attempt to make the situation right.
Since we didn’t get back to sleep until around 3:00 a.m. because of the roaches and the wet floor, I asked if we could possibly have an extra 30 minutes before checkout so we could still enjoy the beach that morning. She answered NO because they said they had many guests checking in.
What makes this even more frustrating is that they required a $100 security deposit for potential damages, yet the room itself was already in poor condition. The door was damaged, leaving gaps where the roaches were coming in and out and the bathtub was rusty. I’m currently waiting for my $100 deposit to be refunded, as it absolutely should be.
Overall, this was a terrible experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding Room 116 on the first floor or possibly the entire first floor if these conditions are common. I will never stay here again

Very clean and great place to stay! There breakfast was great something most hotels are taking away.
Israel
Very clean rooms, the pool staying open late was the main reason we booked this hotel and the outdoor seating area was nice late at night to relax
Melissa
Front desk staff were very nice, they had a happy hour the day we arrive, you could get 2 beers per person and they also had a light snack. The room was clean but the first night we arrive we went to the pool and it was disgusting, it was very dirty. Location is good, but if you want a little peace and quiet this is not the place it is in the middle of everything so traffic can get a little heavy.
Josue
Rooms were clean. Kids enjoyed the pool. Very close the beach. Will be staying there again.
Elisa
This hotel was a decent stay considering our last minute reservation. The staff was excellent and provided phenomenal customer service. The breakfast and Happy Hour were bonuses. The interior was good, clean, and surprisingly slightly updated. The exterior definitely needs some TLC with updates along with the pool and lounge areas.
Chris
Great place to stay. Great location for the shops and the beach.
Benjiman
If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay, this is it. Make sure you get there early for breakfast!
Michael
The room was nice and clean, and staff was very helpful and extremely nice! Breakfast was very good and fresh.

Everything was great- our only complaint was the bed was harder than we like. My joints hurt the next day because of it.

When we pulled up my daughters were very skeptical. Rooms were not bad at all. Staff was friendly. Location is what made it worth it!
Lisa
Limited boat trailer parking...mattresses were hard.
Brandis
The breakfast was the worst breakfast I ever had. The shower did not drain. Dirty towels with anonymous hair strands left on the towels. Just to name a few. This was not the best experience.
Ruben
Stayed at Ocean’s Edge Hotel in Port Aransas and had a great experience! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and recently updated. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to get to the beach, restaurants, and local attractions. The pool area was nice for relaxing after a day in the sun, and having golf cart rentals available was a huge bonus for getting around town. Complementary breakfast and happy hour. Water in restroom was perfect ac very nice and cold.
Eeva
It was close to the beach. It has a beautiful pool area and lounge area. I loved it
Kelvin
Actually a really solid option. Happy Hour M-F/breakfast was really good. Everyone was also very nice. Just don't turn your ac up/leave the door open or due to the humidity your floor will get really wet. Learned that the hard way.
Luis Fernando
Buen lugar para quedarte si vas por poco tiempo y acompañado de pareja oh solo , el estacionamiento es incómodo si manejas troca porque los parqueaderos son limitados y el espacio muy mínimo
Jessica
Relación precio y servicio fantástico! Todo muy bien
Luis
Good staff.
brennen
Love that the pool and breakfast
Harry
We had a wonderful time, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Nice pool area with comfortable chairs under shaded areas. Very good breakfast, not just waffles and cereal but eyes, bacon, potatoes plus waffles and more. Had a happy hour every day from 5 till 7 with adult beverages regular drinks and appetizers. I would highly recommend this place. We will definitely go back.
Jennifer
Kendra was super friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the free breakfasts and HH were awesome, and there’s even a place to park our boat! Can’t beat it for the price!
Susanne
It was a little dated BUT it was clean which is a huge plus for us

The overall property was nice, and the room was good. There were a few hairs and bits of sand left in the bathroom, but other than that it was very clean. Our keys deactivated a day early, but the staff was helpful in getting that taken care of. This place felt very safe and is a good choice for your Port A vacation.
Roland
Probably best location on the Island. Close to shops, restaurants, and beach. Room was fairly clean but could use a little bit more love.
Jimmie
Very clean room, polite and helpful staff, will stay here for Christmas also. Much better hotel than the last one we stayed at.
Jerry
Clean room. Friendly staff.
kallysta
The outside of the property is not very aesthetic, but don’t let that fool you! The amenities are well taken care of and the rooms are very nice. The staff is so nice and helpful anytime we needed anything they were all so accommodating. Breakfast was very good not many options but they had the classic waffles, bacon , potatoes and cereal etc. The hotel is very central to everything although the island is not very big I found we didn’t have more than a 7 min drive to anything. I would definitely stay here again, you can’t beat the price, hospitality, free breakfast and pool that stays open late!
JI
We stay 2 nights and it was OK.
Room is clean, Bed is comfy, Quiet location, Average Breakfast and Staff were nice.
However, room is very humidity and floor was wet all the time.
Beside of that, we had a good time.

Everything was great! The pool could be better taken of but considering the weather I’ll blame it on that but other than that it was all excelente! My girls loved the stay and is all that matters 💕

Breakfast was good, some fresh fruit would be nice. The staff is good. AC worked really well. Pool is pretty.
Suzanne
Room was very clean, tidy property, “happy hour” was 2 adult beverages and some hot wings, not bad and a nice touch!!
For the price it was a very good deal.

I can't say anything nice . The front desk people were rude. Our room didn't have a shower curtain first night. Second night bed had blood on it and I don't bleed !!
So do I recommend it nope better places on the beautiful island.

First time staying here & everything was a great experience! Not bad for the pricing, will definitely keep this one in mind for next time!
Matt
For the money this is a great place to stay, inexpensive, decent breakfast, nice cold air conditioning, clean rooms.
Angela
Easy check in with $100 hold on cc. Pool chairs were broken. Room was clean and sufficient. Bed was ok but creaked with every movement. The beach was about a 3 minute drive up the road. Lots of shopping nearby.
donna
The beds were comfortable, room spacious. I've stayed here before and will stay again in the future. Grocery store and some restaurants and stores are within walking distance from the hotel. Standard hotel continental breakfast.
Rachel
The first day we checked in the front desk lady had an attitude when I asked a question about the golf carts. She didn't tell us anything about the property what time pool closed, opened, anything just our room number where it was located. Other than that everyone else we encountered was very nice. We got a golf cart rental from the motel and it was having issues they gave us another one no issue, the day we went to check out the replacement golf cart didnt want to go in gear so the manager of the property came over helped us and we got it all straightened out. He helped us move it into a parking spot so it was out of the way. Checkout and Breakfast desk people were very nice and friendly. Despite the first lady we will stay again.

The floor, cabinets, mirrors, and wooden headboards were all dripping with condensation possibly because the maid left the AC at 61F. All bedding was damp. We left the door open for awhile hoping it would evaporate, it never did. The next morning I asked a guest in another room if his was the same, he said no. I asked reception and they said \"that's Port Aransas\" and offered no solution or even an apology. Ironically, the office/breakfast area was cold but had no condensation.
Sylvia
Breakfast menu great, a/c was good, screen tv with great movie channels, pool good too!
Julie
The breakfast was very good with a variety of warm options, as well as cold items. The king bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice, clean, and large. The only problem is rust on the towel rack, but this close to the water, it's just going to be a constant battle. They were very accommodating to our travel plans.

My number one place to stay when I'm visiting Port A! Super convenient and love that you can rent golf carts from them with a discount! But the staff is truly amazing and I appreciate everyone from front dest, breakfast and housekeeping. Thank you for another great stay.

Oceans edge Hotel goes above and beyond great expectations with the staff being so friendly and helpful, breakfast chef (Joshua) kept everything clean and serviced, and the custodial crew was on top of it! We liked it so much we went back just to stay another night😊
We will be back!
Also, the pool and the whole area was kept very clean!!

It was alright, way overpriced for what it is
Yesenia
Clean room, working water. Hotel was good and check in went well. The only thing that didn’t live up to the hype was the pool. It wasn’t as clean as I would have liked but I still got in. Overall enjoyed our stay and we would go back.

Mitch
Very clean and convenient.
Charles
The room cleanliness was outstanding. The rooms are sound proof even having small children next to us couldn't hear anything. Great breakfast. A little of everything. Fresh cooked eggs, sausage & potatoes. Coffee, various juices and you can make your own waffles. Parking area was well lit and felt very safe. Improvements needed: shower pressure low & coffee maker in room .
Mari
Clean and staff was lovely!
Nic
Pleasant check in process and room was clean. Expected the hotel to be fairly quiet for a Sunday night. Hotel did not enforce turning down loud music after 10pm and walls are thin enough to hear your neighbors tv all night. Price per night reflects pay what you get for a cheap rate. Don’t plan on returning
Joshua
Everything was great with the exception of the room smelling musty.
Shannon
The room was cold and clean. I had everything I needed. The breakfast items were delicious and

The location was the only good thing about this place. The staff was incredibly rude over the phone I believe the girl’s name is Lexi ? I’m not too sure but extremely rude
Dave
Waffles, sausage and real eggs for breakfast.i
Ashley
Was a fantastic stay, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was lovely and the room was very clean. Loved the pool and the dog park. Will be back :)
Elizabeth
Staff was friendly and they also provide a very well organized breakfast.
Aime
Was definitely expecting more of this place based on previous reviews making it seem very upscale. It was very average of beachside crash pad, but nothing luxurious at all. Only real positive was the proximity to live music and a couple food spots.
Juan
Room was clean an comfortable. The breakfast was great, the whole stay was great!
Hilary
Clean room and great breakfast. Let us check in early. Awesome staff.
Connie
Parking easy
Breakfast great. Hostess friendly
The bathroom could use updates and repairs.
Our room keys didnt work on two occasions, replaced once
No lights on at the pool when dark
Crazy people living in the next room.
I called twice and confirmed twice , before arrival, to request a 1st floor room. We had ebikes with us. Upon arrival , we were assigned a 2nd floor room( no elevator) .
After double checking , they found thst request.
Oceans Edge is not near the edge of the ocean.

Had a great time. Golf carts on sight for a fee was convenient! Loved the happy hour too! Would definitely staff there again.
Natalie
Very courteous staff and a very comfortable bed. I enjoyed my 3 days
Katie
We stayed in room 129. Our overall stay was not bad. However, there were things like the mattresses were not comfortable, the coffee at breakfast was not great and the wallpaper in the shower area is bubbling/peeling. And you do not get a discount on their golfcarts if you book your stay with them.
Nancy
Nice and convenient. Breakfast was good.
