Only reason I did not give this 5 stars was because the pool was closed. Wish that was disclosed prior to booking the room, kids were disappointed.

Staff was great. Breakfast staff was the nicest I have experienced in quite a while. Even though the pancake maker wasnt working the staff came to our table and offered to make them for us in the back on the stove. Super great staff at this hotel.

The issue was my fault. I doubled booked a room through Expedia. I thought I cancelled the one but clearly didn’t.i know missed means missed but I missed the cancellation by 1 day. Soon as I noticed, I reached out to Expedia and the hotel.i went back and forth between Expedia and the hotel for 2 days straight. Messaged the hotel through the app and even personal email. Pretty sure Allen only reached out because Expedia and I kept calling. I even replied to Allen and still haven’t heard a thing. Erin at the front desk was the only one who was helpful during all of this. They should be lucky she works there. She was the only one to show any compassion or just be a decent person through all of it. It sucked the pool wasn’t open. The room overall was clean. However, the ac/heat unit was so loud. When it kicked on, it sounded like a diesel engine just sitting in the room with you. Then when it was time for it to turn off, it was a like a plane powering down. Woke me out of a dead sleep at 3am. In the bathroom, the shower, the ceiling had work done from a previous crack. It’s cracking again. My mom stayed as well and said her room also had a crack on the ceiling in the bathroom. You couldn’t really pull up on the faucet for the shower. When you did, it was like you were pulling it right out of the wall. The caulk job has worn off. Like I said, I know the double booking was my fault but 10/10 I feel like it could have been handled wayyy better between Expedia and Allen.

We arrived at 10:25 in the evening, only to find a hand-written sign at the front desk ... \"Gone to the bathroom, back at 10:45 PM\" .... RIDICULOUS. Saw a woman walk in around 10:45 (I knew she worked there, because we've stayed here before), she did not acknowledge us. Went into the back only to have another man come out to front desk, who looked like he just woke up and rudely help us. Felt like I was in a comedy skit, and we were exhausted! The floor in the lobby was filthy, had coffee all around. Also, the room ... DUSTY! cobwebs in every corner, dust on walls, and bathroom floor dirty. Will NOT stay here again, and don't recommend this place.

The room was good sized and beds were comfy, but the pool wasn’t working, there wasn’t any ice in the whole building, and breakfast was empty just one hour after opening with little to bo refills for the hour and a half we were downstairs waiting. When we asked the front desk for ice (as the signs suggested we do) we were informed that they didn’t have any more ice at all. Overall it was a disappointing experience, considering we paid twice as much to stay there as we were going to pay to stay elsewhere. The only reasons we chose this hotel over cheaper options is because of the pool (which was not working and we had no advance notice of), and the breakfast (which wasn’t stocked and the pancake machine was broken). Add the lack of ice on top and I wish we would’ve stayed at a cheaper hotel.

The manager was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We appreciated the accommodating food staff to refill the omelet tray quickly, so we could have breakfast on the go. It was a clean room and well-kept hotel. The location was convenient as it was right off the highway. The pool was not available, so that is a consideration. However, it was great overall, and I would stay there again.

This property allegedly agreed to my confirmed stay on Expedia, I arrived and had no reservation on file in the middle of the night. The people at the front desk made minimal attempt to help fix the problem, deferring me to Expedia, who did nothing to fix or own the problem despite their blunders. Bottom line, I had no room despite booking months in advance, stressing me out over 600 miles from home. The area was sold out and I wound up at a Motel 6. Unfathomable horrible customer service for both Holoday Inn annd Expedie and unreliability. I would not recommend anyone stay here or be assured Expedia will have your room despite you confirming and paying them, you will be stressed and overwhelmed by the poor customer service. Vote with your money and go elsewhere.

Great for the price!

Stayed in Springfield while traveling through the area. Great option compared to other hotels around. Great for the price and value. The room was immensely clean with so much space!! My only complaint for the experience is while the walls from room to room seemed thick as I was unable to hear my neighbors, the walls between the rooms and hallway were thin. From the hallways you could hear conversations happening in other rooms and while in the room I could hear clear as day others in the hallway.

Was a clean comfortable nights sleep. Small maintenance issues, in the room peeling tiles, dripping leaky bathroom faucet.
No USB ports anywhere. Ehh. Not a big deal i didn't bring a block to plug in. But theres two gas stations right nearby. Good breakfast that alone is worth it. 👍 overall not big issues for ME but there might be others that this just wont work for them.

The hotel was nice in its self, no complaints. What really made this stay above and beyomd was the staff. I mean, they were excellent. I stayed on the property 4/18-4/19. It is just such a breath of fresh air to see staff that just are kind people whinseem to like what they do. Holiday Inn express, whoever did the hiring at the Yellow Spring OH location, you have done a good job. Good service speaks volumes to me.

I liked everything except the pool. The room was too small and not well-ventilated, and I received a headache from the strong chemicals in the poorly ventilated, small pool room. Also, the hotel employees did not follow the pool rules as there were more than 20 unsupervised children jumping in and around the pool area for up to 3 hours straight. Many guests (me included were not able to enjoy the pool) and had to leave due to the chaotic situation. When the front desk (night shift) was notified, they seemed irritated with me and did little to nothing about the situation.

The hotel was newly renovated. The staff wasn’t the best. We were there for 4 days. They didn’t offer or come do any kind of clean up while we were there. Not even to empty the trash receptacles. After I left they charged me $150 for a cleaning fee citing there was trash everywhere. There were water bottles around the trash cans and on top of the entertainment center. Well if they had emptied the trash cans once, there wouldn’t have been any on the floor or on the entertainment center. I’ll never stay at that Holiday Inn again. If they are doing that to make extra money, I can only imagine what else they are doing.

Overall the hotel was good. But I thought that cleaning could have been better especially bath room. The sink was not cleaned carefully with lots of dried tooth paste residue and the mirror had water spots. I could not use the bathroom as it was so I cleared it by myself.

The hotel was fairly clean. The women at check in was very rude complaining that she just got there and her boss hadn't done anything so she wasn't ready to check us in. At check out there was two employees too busy talking to pay attention to me. The pool was freezing as well. I booked this hotel because of the pool and we were able to swim for more than 5 minutes because it was so cold.... overall not a good stay.

Not what I had expected

The room I registered for had 2 queen beds and an area for a couch. It was a handicapped accessible room with a roll-in shower and a fold down seat. The room we were given for a 2 night stay was only 2 queen beds. It did have grab bars by the toilet, however, the tub was not handicapped accessible. The toilet was low to the ground which made it very difficult to sit down on and to get up from even when using the grab bars. My daughter told me that the tub was very slippery and I should not attempt to get into it. As far as the comfort of the beds, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The bed felt very old and caused me to have terrible hip pain for which I had a difficult time getting up from the bed. All in all, I was very disappointed with this room.

Spent 4 nights in room 201. Walked into the room to find a huge wad of black hair (about 4”x2”) on the floor in between the beds. The coffee maker water reservoir was nasty. I have photos but won’t subject people to that grossness. There was a small brown spot on the ceiling over one of the beds. Manager sent housekeeping up the next day and “deep cleaned”… but water spots from washing hands were still all over the floor as well as dirt in the carpet. Left late morning on day 3 and came back late that night to no housekeeping service at all. Had to go fetch more towels and coffee pods ourselves. Very very dirty property. Will never stay again.

Rooms need updated. Our room was damp and musty. There was slime hanging from the sink faucet in the kitchenette. Paper then walls. You can hear every noise. The air conditioner in the room was so noisy that it scared us every time it turned on. None of us slept well.

There was a mixup with our room and the staff was quite unfriendly and unhelpful about it. The room we got had a broken sofa and some trash on the floor. Doubt anybody cleaned it.
There was also a nasty odor in the bathroom which was replaced with the smell of bad quality fried bacon at 5:30 in the morning. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

Place is being renovated. The room was nice, but renovators are definitely taking the cheapest route.
We had a double queen suite with a 3rd queen bed and a sofa sleeper. Beds were comfortable. The ac unit was very loud.
Pool was closed for renovations also, this was very disappointing to my two younger girls who were looking forward to swimming.
Breakfast was good.
Overall it was an ok stay.
