The room had a good view to the lake but under us we had a seating area that was loud till after midnight.

The property is located outside the city center, 2 km, this makes the stay more pleasant and relax as it is quiet and the property grounds and gardens are beautiful.
The views from the hotel are spectacular.
We arrived 3 hours early, and were able to check in, as our room was very clean and ready.
Hotel staff is very frienly, knowledgeable of the Bariloche area, and very helpfull.
To start your day, breakfast is fantastic, with lots of variety and large selections of hot or cold food, pastries, fresh fruits and vegetables.
We anjoyed our stay, and hope to come back again.

Good but not great hotel

Great view and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent. However, the whole point of staying at a spa was to access massage services. Unfortunately, they were fully booked during my entire stay. I ended up having to get massage services away from the hotel, which was more affordable and probably better in the end, but it was inconvenient for me. The pool area also had weird hours, and would have been more accessible and convenient if it would have opened before 10am.

The Hotel is in a very good condition. staff are friendly and resourceful. Compared with what the city got to offer this is a great value for money.
Roads leading to the hotel are not paved which creates a dust issue - this should be fixed or at least the road should be irrigated at the dry season.
Laundry service is good but VERY expensive.
we stayed at the VIP suites, not special VIP service was provided.

What a great hotel

Our stay in the hotel was started with bad feeling due to Hotels.com correspondence.
We paid in US dollar instead of ARS currency and any way to change the payment was blocked by the Hotel’s’ groups. When we arrive the hotel, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable.
This hotel was the perfect goodbye to our stay in Bariloche.
I will not use Hotels.com anymore.
Highly recommended, pay in ARS!!

I'm sure many hotels in Bariloche can boast about the view, but the view at Villa Huinid Bustillo was out this world! The hotel itself was clean, rooms were spacious with a great little balcony, large continental breakfast spread and friendly/helpful staff everywhere. There is also a patio area outside the restaurant where you can lounge in the sun and enjoy a book, some wine and (of course) the view. It's a little outside downtown which adds to the serenity of the mountains and lake that expand before you but within half an hour you can still walk to the closest craft brewery or chocolate shop. Patagonia/Bariloche is an amazing spot in the world and we would definitely stay at the Villa Huinid again if we return!

Hotel is really only accessible if you have your own car. Long steep walks to roads at both ends of the property.
The rooms were of a good size and were kept very clean. Towels marked for change were removed but not replaced.
Breakfast was exceptionally good.
Dinner in the restaurant was not good, my trout was overcooked, my wife's risotto was undercooked our friends meals were also not good.
Our biggest problem was the heating system in our rooms. The thermostat had no control the heating was always on consequently we slept with windows fully open and we were still too hot. Promised repair never made any difference.
Shame the hotel is well located and the pool has magnificent views.

Amazing location. Outside of Bariloche but easily walkable. The views from our room were stunning. We liked being a little bit away from the noise of the town. Rooms were spacious with great beds. Excellent range of food for breakfast but very busy from 09:30. We ate in the bar one night after a long day and the food was ok but the price for a small beer was way too high! We would definitely choose this place next time

A relaxing business trip

Came here for a business meeting. Nice green environment around with beautifully decorated houses and excellent lake view with snow mountain. It's near the downtown if you have a car or you go by taxi. I didn't have a car so I walked to and from the downtown in 30 mins, but the path besides the road is not good for walking. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the downtown. Not many of them can speak English but they are all very nice. Staff in the front desk are polite and very helpful. The restaurant in the hotel is quite good but there are plenty of choices in the downtown. The front desk can arrange a taxi for you, but no receipt for that kind of taxi, so it can be trouble if you need to reimburse the fare.

Outstanding staff. Great hotel.

We checked in at eleven. They took great care of our check in, and even booked an excursion for early the following day. Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It is a four star hotel, but with the quality of service, I rated the hotel as five stars. We had dinner in the restaurant beginning at11:30 pm, after our arrival. Restaurant staff were very cheerful even that late, and prepared a good meal for us. Breakfast was very good, the best we have had during our trip at a hotel. We wish we could have stayed in the hotel a little more, but with just two days in Bariloche, we were out and about most of the time. On the second day they found a rental car for us, in spite of being in high season. We highly recommend the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay on a subsequent trip.

Stayed for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon, the hotel is a bit outside town, but only a 2 km walk which we easily did a few times during our stay. Beautiful location and I recommend taking a bottle of wine down to the lake right below the hotel in the evening as the sun sets! Couple of bits that took from the overall experience. 1, the rooms were way too hot and No air con! 2, no iron available when we rang the desk, we were told we could use laundry service, but wanted to iron a shirt then! 3 there was a lack of info on tours etc, could be a bit more on that!all in all I would still recommend the hotel as a great base

Cozy hotel by the lake

The hotel is OK, is nice, cozy, comfortable and small. The service by the personnel was excellent. I would improve the hot tub, the water should have been warmer and too much wait time to use it.

Overall was a little bit pricey du to the season but just fine. Location is excellent too: not in the downtown of Bariloche (which I won't like to be at) and the local sites to visit.

Although people says that taxi is an option, I would definitely recommend to rent a car. The conditions were spring so no need for a 4x4, so I rented a economy Corsa. Excellent choice!

TIP: Most of the cars there are shifters but the hi-ranked options, keep that in mind. Also bear in mind that Restaurants are closed after 3 pm in winter (and I have to say IS VERY HARD to find one after that time).

Good View; Hot Rooms

This is a nice hotel with a good staff, but the room was way too hot. We turned the heat completely off as soon as we got in the room because it was so hot, but the radiators never went off. We had to leave the windows open the whole time, which was OK, but shouldn't have been necessary. I had washed some clothes in the sink at the previous hotel and the socks had not dried. I put them on the radiator (after turning off the heat) to dry at this hotel and they dried quickly. That part was useful, but having an extremely hot room was not good. The breakfast is good. We had dinner in the restaurant and it is good.

Wonderful hotel for couples or for families

We debated between 2 hotels before we booked, and we are SO happy we chose Villa Huinid. Although it's not downtown, it is beautifully located away from the bustle, and is on a huge property away from road noise. We were a little concerned about being on the fringes of downtown -- but the best advice we could give anyone is not to worry about that, because in Bariloche, it's not about the city center. To see the area, one really needs to book tours, or (as we did) rent a car and really do the circuitos. We had so much fun doing day trips in the area, and we'd highly recommend renting a car if it's in your budget.

Our room was large, bright, and really beautiful. We didn't use the spa in the 5 days we stayed there, but we certainly enjoyed our spa tub each evening in the room. The Reception staff (especially Juan and Alejandra) went out of their way at all times to help us, and they all speak excellent English. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and one could sit either in the buffet room or in the dining room with an expansive view of the lake. On several occasions, we ate dinner in the hotel dining room, and the food and service were quite good. We should mention that although we are a \"mature\" couple, there were a number of young families staying at the hotel, and it appeared that children were accommodated for.

If we return to Bariloche, which we intend to do, we will most certainly stay at Villa Huinid again. We recommend it without reservation.

Villa Huinid in Bariloche, Argentina

This is a very nice hotel with good sized, comfortable rooms. We reserved a standard room (facing the forest in the rear). However, on their own, they upgraded us to a room facing the front and the lake. The rooms are the same, but the view was much better.
The hotel is located 2.6km (1.5miles) out of town. Although Bariloche fronts the lake, we chose Villa Hunid so as to appreciate the lake in a somewhat less developed setting.
Our only complaint concerned the breakfast service. The breakfast was quite good. It was supposed to start at 7AM. However, the doors did not open until 7:15 when the coffee arrived, and all the food was not in place until close to 7:30. Each morning there would usually be up to a dozen people waiting to start breakfast. This is only a problem for people who are going on tours that start early or have an early plane to catch. This however, is quite common.

While the location is about 2.6 kilometers from downtown - this was great for us as it enabled us to walk to/from town, restaraunts, and the chocolate factory. We also caught the local bus with no problem for the extended sightseeing tour and hopped off near to the hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and well prepared. The staff were especially helpful in locating our luggage when our bags didn't make the plance on which we arrived. The views out over the lake are simply magnificent. It was a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, and see some of the countryside in Argentina. We definitely recommend this place. It isn't particularly inexpensive, but pampering is good every once in a while.

Villa Huinid Spa and Resort Hotel

The Villa Huinid Hotel is located about 3km from the city. It is extremely convienent if you're touring the area if you want a great location but out of the downtown area. it would be a long walk into town along a road without sidewalks but there are public buses that appear to run on a frequent schedule although we didn't use them. The staff was extremely helpful in suggesting tours/drives/restauants in the area.
The breakfast was great offering at least two warm egg dishes plus breads, fruits, etc. The hotel has a more formal type restauant and does offer a more limited bar type menu in the bar later at night.

Villa Huinid - Best choice for Bariloche

Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. From the nice folks at the front desk to the bell hop, the bartenders and the morning breakfast folks, everyone is very friendly, making this a very pleasant stay.
Staff got to know us pretty well from my partner getting food poisoning (from an off-site restaurant). Everyone was super helpful, checked up on her, filled a hot water bottle, gave directions to the clinic, really went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable during this period she was sick.
The breakfast was outstanding, views of the lake are amazing, the grounds are pleasant.
Views from the workout room and the jacuzzi are outstanding.
Location is 2 miles from Bariloche. An easy taxi or remise ride. Would not recommend walking on the busy road. Best way to get around is rental car.
Overall, except for the being sick part, this was a very pleasant and relaxing place to stay in Bariloche. The location is beautiful, but it is the staff that makes Villa Huinid an amazing destination.

Villa Huinid - in Bariloche Argentina

The hotel is very nice, the staff friendly and accomodating. Restaurants are good and staff helpful. There is a spa which is great, however, they advertise a jacuzzi tub that is free when you stay there. To use the jacuzzi tub you must make a reservation for it. You cannot just go down to the pool and jump in the tub as it is located in private room with a wonderful view. The Jacuzzi is not your traditional American type, it is more of a Jaccuzi bathtub only bigger. Reservations were easy to get and the room was nice. Not sure during a busy season how easy it would be to get the reservation though.

Excellence in Bariloche

Excellent experience at the Villa Huinid. While a new hotel still working out a few rough spots, they're making all of the right moves.

A couple of comments for someone new to Bariloche:
1) this hotel is NOT in town. You will need a car, but book in advance. Alamo and Avis were sold out and Hertz was REALLY expensive for what they had left.
2) Being out of town means you are away from the groups. Bariloche is a popular destination for school groups who go the resort for a week of \"spring break\" like festivities. Being away from the party crowds was a real plus.

The restaurant's food was quite good - some of the best we had in Bariloche, and breakfast was a real treat compared to the usual ham and cheese, but they don't 'get' scrambled eggs yet.

The spa books the jacuzzi for exclusive use, so if you want a dip in the bubbles, remember to reserve the day before.

Hotel staff always said the Internet connection was active and there must be a problem with my PC, which is not valid because: first of all, I'm a geek, I know how to handle WiFis connections and secondly, I was able to successfully navigate while I was in the lobby.

They always said their IT was reviewing the WiFi and they were \"rebooting the router\", I think that never really happened though.

Other than that, we got a very beautiful room, which was a bungaloo type, it was warm enough (it was snowing outside), it even got so warm that we had to sleep without the heater on, it was really hot.

We really liked the location of the hotel, it was near the Cerro Catedral and some restaurants and also from the downtown, which was good when it was snowing and raining (which was most part of our trip) because we didn't have to road too much on those awful conditions.

Hotel personnel was really kind and they always were smiling. Breakfast were good enough for a week, they were buffet and had some variety (in South America is hard to find variety so basically, this was good compared to some other places where we have been).

I think that our experience was really good due to the rate we paid, I would definitively go again or recommend this place.

Peaceful and Beautiful

Nestled in the gorgeous scene of the Andes, this hotel is a great choice for a relaxing stay. It has beautiful views of the mountains across the lake. It is 2km outside of the actual town, but don't let that deter you. A cab ride is only approximately $4 and there is a bus that runs every 20 minutes from the hotel to town for less than a dollar. Staff is extremely helpful with suggestions and are swift to answer any requests or concerns. The pool/hot tub have large windows opening to the mountains which gives a great view, especially at sunset.

Our room was actually in a cottage (of which there are several) but there is a large main hotel as well.

Tips: take walks around/near the famous hotel \"Llao Llao\", grab ice cream at \"Helados Jauja\", sample chocolate at \"Mamushka\", take a horseback ride through the nearby foothills, a mexican dinner at \"Dias de Zapata\" (with a lemon margarita), take the tram to Cerro Otto, the only revolving restaurant (more of a cafe) in Argentina for a coffee/tea overlooking the beautiful surroundings.

Bariloche Hotel Villa Huinid

A bit outside of the main part of town, which is a blessing to escape from the noise and congestion, but you will need your own car to get around. Rent a car at the airport to avoid the bus/shuttle to the downtown locations. Excellent hotel in the grand old style: great front desk staff with actual opinions about local destinations that they frequent, large and clean rooms, pool and gym and free breakfast all included in the price. No nickle-and-diming here, just old world class. Not a boutique hotel for those of you looking for \"high design\", but great comfort and ease. We kept coming back as a haven amongst all the other so-called fancy and new hotels. Five star for sure.

Well maintained hotel in a quiet location about 3km from town. Front desk and staff answered all the questions and provided maps and ideas although we couldn't understand why the hotel minibus was incapable of running people to town or even the airport. Pool, spa and therapies recommended. Excellent breakfast to suit all tastes. Frequent buses to town on the main road (or walkable if you don't mind dodging the traffic) although a taxi to town is very reasonable. Evening bar and restaurant service was rather slow.
Would definitely go back.

Pricey but Good Experience.

We enjoyed two nights at Villa Huinid. Having a rental car might have improved the experience. It was more than 20 minute walk to the center of Bariloche. The buffet breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. The desk had no travel concierge services, ie no maps or information. But Debora, the manager of the spa, was a wonderful resource, and gave us all the guidance we needed.
We booked two nights, then unsuccessfully tried to negotiate a discount for three more nights -- even though the hotel was empty in late March. Based on our experience after we left Villa Huinid, I think there are better values in comparable accommodations elsewhere. But the grounds and vistas are beautiful and we enjoyed our visit.

Villa Huinid - Ideal Location and Facilities and Great People

Terrific location two kilometres outside the main centre of Bariloche. Easy to access the main centre by walking (20 minutes), bus (comes by every 20 minutes) or taxi (5 minutes to town).Very 'kid' friendly but just as good for adults on their own.Lake view rooms are worth the extra cost.

The site is quiet with beautiful rose gardens, pool and spa facilities. Great buffet breakfast is part of the deal and a nice restaurant on site for dinners 'in'. Hotel bar is also a great place to wind down at the end of the day.

Most of all the staff are superb. They are attentive to detail and able to make any and all arrangements for tours (We had an amazing day of fly fishing) dinner reservations etc.

You won't do any better than this in Bariloche.

The staff was attentive and quite friendly; there were no problems communicating despite my lack of Spanish ability. The hotel and spa grounds are beautiful with amazing views of the lake and the breakfast buffet is amazing! Although the hotel is quite reasonably priced for the quality, as a bonus, we were upgraded for free from our hotel room to a large cabin...it was amazing! It had any kind of amenity that I could want and more; it even had a balcony with a view of the lake and a grill! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a clean, relaxing and luxurious place to stay in Bariloche.

Clean, quiet with beautiful views

The hotel is located a few kilometers out of Bariloche which suited us as we had a car. The breakfast was great with a nice breakfas area. It is a very good hotel to relax at as it is out of town and extremely quiet surrou8nded by trees. The only complaint (which did not bother us) was that the man on the desk was not friendly. We were used to extremely friendly people in the previous hotels we stayed at so that was unusual. The bell person was friendly adn helpful - it was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it - good value for the money.
